GREAT SCOTT! I spent all weekend working on this, so please LIKE and share with your friends! The support is greatly appreciated, and I hope you enjoy! Thanks for watching!
I don't know why I'm telling you this but I thought this would be relevant and I thought you would like it. When I was in video production last year, in school. we had a project to do where we had to drop all audio from a clip from a movie and replace with audio we found on the internet. For my clip, I did the scene where Marty goes forward in time. I had to choose it since it was my favorite movie, and it was one of the greatest clips ever put to film. I thought you would like that.
***** I did a similar project in college, where I had to completely re-score a film trailer. I chose "Attack Of The Clones"... and the video is still uploaded to this channel!

Back to the Future is a true masterpiece. It is the perfect mix of a great plot, great acting, action, adventure, romance and comedy. It is great fun for any age for both male and female. It is one of those rare movies that I can rewatch any time, it never gets old. 11/10, one of my favorite movies of all time.
I honestly have to say Part 3 is the best. Its so well written and its subtle just like part 1. First one just has the Nostalgia and it introduces us to the concepts and characters. Part 2 is the weakest, cause its the basically the first film and its the most complex. As far as my favorite. I would say Part 2. Even though they were traveling all over the place in time. I loved how it went back to the Future and then to the first movie. It introduced a lot of Fan theories. For one if you think about it there was 4 time machines in 1985 for one day for like an 1hr. 1st one is from Part 1. The second is from Biff in Part 2. third is from Marty and Doc stopping Biff in Part 2. 4th is from Doc leaving the time machine for 70yrs.
for a short time in the early 90s, I acctually liked Back to the Future Part II a little better then the first one. Though after seeing both several times as I got older, I went back to liking the original better. All three films are specacular, even the 3rd one, which has a few bad scenes a few lines of sloppy (or maybe just miss timed) dialog but is still a classic and worth seeing. I consider it the best Trilogy of all time, beating out Star Wars my a small margin, mostly due to just how outstanding the first two films were and the fact the 3rd one still holds up well.
I consider the trilogy one movie. And that one movie is my favorite. Love back to the future, puts a smile on my face every time. Only thing that bothers me is the poster, makes no sense. I have in my room and I just stare at it, still doesn't get it.
That intro was killer! Back to The Future is one of my all time favorites! One and two are enough to excuse 3. I never noticed the bad Frankenstein neck on Doc Brown until now! lol (2:03)
Jonathan, if there was an awards show category for best video intro, you'd win it HANDS DOWN!! This is your best by FAR!! You're awesome!! This is great!!! I absolutely loved it!!!
GODDAMMIT, i wish i would've known you were reviewing back to the future sooner. i wanted to share my opinions since its also my favourite movie of all time.
Man of Steel: Not only heart wrenching and suspenseful but a HUGE bounce back from "Superman Returns". The casting was incredible and there was much more back story put into this, where all the fans are FINALLY given at least one explanation as to why Krypton just explodes. This was also one of the very few movies that can actually legitimately make you cry due to its heavy darkness. 10/10
This was great. Really enjoyable to see you talk about a film series you are truly passionate about. Ever since Manos The Hands of Fate scored a perfect 0, I had been wondering when we would see a perfect 10 - and we finally saw it. Man of Steel - The visual style is impressively presented but the convoluted moral themes and uncomfortably destructive climax make it less than an amazing film. 6/10.
Hands down my favorite movie trilogy of all time. I have to say my favorite out of them was the second one, since I get interested in seeing alternate timelines and stuff like that, and I liked the darker tone of it. Still, all three are great and definitely make up my Top 3 movies of all time.
You said you've been to a lot of the filming locations in the movies. Have you ever been to Columbia, CA? Most of the 3rd movie was filmed there, it's only a 15 minute drive from my house. I've also seen the clock tower at the Universal Studio lot, it was around the same time Bruce Almighty was being made and the tour guide made sure to point out that it was the same clock tower in both movies.
Love the intro, but you could have made yourself look a little less HD so it looked more like you were actually in the scene, that would have made it better for me, but nice job with all the intros to these! I wouldn't go as far as watching these movies every week, as Bill Gray did but I would watch these movies more than others. I have the 4 disc ultimate edition with bloopers, outtakes, commentaries and behind the scenes stuff and I am currently re-watching part III.
Thank you so much for reviewing Back to the Future in full. I know I said it before, but the original is my all time favorite movie. Also, Doc is my inspiration for mad science.
I really like your channel and your reviews. like the fast and furious movies, i share almost the same opinion like you... now i would like to dare you to do an episode with all the time travel anomalies in this trilogy :D
If I had a time machine, I'd go back to sometime in the '90s, because that's when computers and video games were really starting to boom, and I am a gamer, and have been fascinated in technology in general.
Has there ever been a review for a sequel that was voted better than it's previous installment? I always find that sequels aren't as great as the original.
hey it was my ender's game tweet! Cool! Hmm I lent my back to the future dvd's to a friend and never got them back, think it's time to buy the blue rays as it's been almost 5 years since i've seen them.
Time travel question: Since I know a lot about the American Civil War, I'd probably travel back to sometime during it to see what it was actually like, although I don't know if I could handle all the bloodshed and violence. Another choice would maybe see Stonehenge being built, to see how it actually got where it is. I wouldn't like to go forward in time as not only should you "not know too much about your own destiny" but also because we have screwed up planet and I wouldn't not want to see how things are in hundreds years or more as the way humanity as a whole is going, we may not make it that far if we keep damaging the planet the way we are. Jon, when would you like to go to if you could?
Usually with Rotten Tomatoes, I can say "Yeah that rating makes sense." Back to the Future has 96%. Yes, makes sense. Back to the Future Part III has 73%. Yes, that also makes sense. Back to the Future PaRT II has 61%. That puzzles me. It definitely deserves at least 10 more points. It is one of the few ratings I disagree with.
Jake Tibbs RottenTomatoes is a shitty, awful, inaccurate metric. Never use that site, and never cite it on the show for those reasons. It's not a rating of a movie, it's a percentage of people who liked it. Useless.
+Jogwheel I think the metric itself has some merit, but I think a lot of people who use the site don't understand that it is a percentage of critics either liking (3 star out of 5 or better) or disliking a movie. This pass/fail system doesn't tell you that because it is 98% that it is better than a movie that may have a lower RT score, but it does let you know that the film has a broad appeal. Lower RT scores don't necessarily mean it isn't a good film, just that the movie won't appeal to everyone's taste. Still the lowest RT scores are a decent metric for whether a movie is awful. If 90% of critics give it 2 stars or less, it is probably a bad film.
theman37379 If you understand its unique arrangement, yes - there is some value. But everyone I see citing RT does so as a base "rating"... which isn't how it's mean to be used. IMDb has always been a much better indicator for me. Especially since that site's Top 250 closely aligns with my own.
If Movie Night were to ever stop, the biggest thing in which I would miss are the intros. Also, the intros makes me want either A. a compilation of all the intro of season 5 or just a compilation of the best intros. or B. Have Jon basically edit himself into a movie or TV show. Even though that seems like it would be like a year long project.
As for your time travel question, I'm torn between the western and the medieval times. I can't decide between gun-slinging action or sword-on-sword combat.
nice review, one of my favourites trilogies of all time. despite some plot holes, like the fact that in the old west there should be a perfectly working time machine in which doc reached the past, it's still a great movie, with great acting and awesome music and effects.
That's not a plot hole. If they disturbed the time machine in the cave, Marty would never be able to recover it in 1955, and save Doc. They don't want to risk digging it up early either, else resulting in a paradox. Also, he surely would have drained the tanks before storing it for 70 years, too.
Which are you more likely to call BttF day, November 5 or October 21? Also, if I were to rate them in enjoyment order for me, it would probably be 1 just cuz its the first, 3 at a VERY close second, and then 2. The cartoon was meh, I never got to ride the ride, and the PC game was fun
Jogwheel The driver of the Jeep that Marty hangs in the start of the first movie when he is going to school, is Harrison Ford. Video: Universal Studios Hollywood Tram Tour circa 1990 - Part Two (go to 3:05 on that video)
Hey Jon, in all curiousness, do you think you could round it all out by doing either a GameTime or at least a review of Back to the Future: The Game? After seeing this, I'd love to see your commentary on it.
I put off seeing the third movie for almost two years after seeing the first two, simply because of the Western theme. When I finally watched it earlier this year, coupled with a re-watch of the first two, I found the entire series as a whole to have an amazing, truly awe inspiring charm. The series is simply something you need to work hard at, in order to find a real (although minor) flaw.
Thor: The Dark World: Gives the audience exactly what they want, great fight scenes, excellent visuals and Loki. Surprisingly emotional and the climax is incredibly entertaining . 8/10
The first film, of course, is a masterpiece and stands along side some of the greatest movies ever made! Part II was a disappointment for me. I believe the problem was simply that it tried too hard. Part III, however, is a delight and one that I can watch as many times as the original. Thank you for your review of the trilogy!
Man of Steel - Great acting, beautiful cinematography, triumphant music, wonderful story, I'd go far as to say its just as if not better than the Puzo original. 10/10
Thor: The Dark World: It may not be the best Marvel film, but it is filled with enough great action and humor to make up for a somewhat convoluted story. 8/10
Thanks for the BTTF Trilogy review. Like you, it is one of my favourite series, right behind the Ghostbusters duology. I have to say, i really disliked the second movie as a kid, as it essentially scared me shitless, but now that I am older an can appreciate it's beauty, I do enjoy it, albeit the least of the three. (Actually, it's kind of funny, but GB2 scared me so shitless when I saw it at age 2, that I had nightmares for years, but never missed the chance to watch it again. Is that what you would call a true masterpiece?) I was kinda hoping you might have wrangled Christopher Lloyd or MJF to guest star when you mentioned a special guest, but I suppose it can't be any form of easy to get in contact or to get them to agree to appear in your video. Enjoyed the entire review nonetheless.
Thor: The Dark World: I love the marvel cinematic universe and this is no exception, with the right amount of humour, visuals and good acting, this is a really fun movie and definitely worth a watch 10/10
I just saw this vid in my subbox. I was scared shitless for 1.2 seconds. I thought for a moment that this vid was a news anouncement that said that there would be a back to the future remake... damn
Thor: The Dark World: Some of the story elements are very weak this time around, but overall, Thor: The Dark World is slightly better than the original and Tom Hiddleston as Loki is simply amazing. 8/10.
If I had a car time machine, I'd go to the future and give my car hover abilities so that I won't have to worry about traffic and icy roads during the winter :P
I'd also go back to the late 20th Century, any time from 1950 until 2000. I'd also got to 2010 because that was the best year I ever had. I was 11 back then. I moved from Singapore to Canada that year and we stopped over in LA for 2 weeks, the best vacation I ever had. I also first went to school in Canada on September that year, I was in 6th Grade then and I already had friends right on the first day. My favorite video game came out that year, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. Oh how I miss those days... 1492 to see Christopher Columbus, maybe I could fly my car right above his ship at night :P, and the 1880's old west. I'd also go 20 years from now in 2034 to see who I'm married to (I really hope it's my crush :P) and what cars I might own, and also the year 3000 because why not. Basically, I'd just go anywhere I want if I had a time machine! Sigh... if only it were possible.
if i had a time machine i would go back in time to the age of dinosaurs with a group of proffessional animal tamers and capture a few velociraptors to bring back it would be amazing
Man of Steel: Amazing visuals with a decent story and incredible acting. Not better than the original but better than Superman Returns, Michael Shannon is fantastic as General Zod. 8/10
GREAT SCOTT! I spent all weekend working on this, so please LIKE and share with your friends! The support is greatly appreciated, and I hope you enjoy!

Wow! A new episode of Movie Night. Please enjoy, if you haven't seen it yet! It's what makes time travel possible!
Half? I'm afraid it's a much smaller percentage than that... haha.
What a great episode man. I love this trilogy. I think you should review it again in 2015 while wearing some Nike Air Mags. With power laces!
Sounds good. I'll be there.
I love The Back to the Future trilogy. One of the greatest trilogies ever made!

Regardless, that is the best thumbnail you have ever made.
Thank you so much for reviewing Back to the Future in full. I know I said it before, but the original is my all time favorite movie. Also, Doc is my inspiration for mad science.

I'm glad to see my favorite film trilogy reviewed in such an excellent manner. I agreed with just about everything said. Nice work!
Nice reviews, definitely agree with everything said. Have you ever considered doing reviews on the Tremors series? It's one of my favorites!
Not the entire series, but I'll definitely review the original eventually.
Still lovin' the intros, Jon!

What do you think about the Back to the Future musical coming to London's West End in 2015?
If I had a time machine, I'd go back to sometime in the '90s, because that's when computers and video games were really starting to boom, and I am a gamer, and have been fascinated in technology in general.
Has there ever been a review for a sequel that was voted better than it's previous installment? I always find that sequels aren't as great as the original.
I stumbled upon this show, very nice quality, looking forward for more!
Thanks! Working on episode #150 right now :-)
Jon. What would you say if they announced a BttF remake?
Hey, the ordering T.V. is still in tact after Griff swung at you! hahaha great movie night, Jon!
Oops!
Blame time travel.
hey it was my ender's game tweet! Cool! Hmm I lent my back to the future dvd's to a friend and never got them back, think it's time to buy the blue rays as it's been almost 5 years since i've seen them.

Hey Jon, in all curiousness, do you think you could round it all out by doing either a GameTime or at least a review of Back to the Future: The Game? After seeing this, I'd love to see your commentary on it.
I did a six-episode LP on it, actually :-)
Jogwheel Huh. I somehow missed it. Upon a second searching, I managed to find it though.
Thanks. :)
I put off seeing the third movie for almost two years after seeing the first two, simply because of the Western theme.

Sadly no... but thanks for thinking about me :)
I always liked ur confidence ur the best RUclipsr have ever seen
Thanks, I appreciate that!
Jogwheel don't appreciate me just continue making more reviews
Great show sir good series too
I would travel to 2002. I could relive some of the stuff I loved as a kid and experience the things I missed growing up.
i love all 3 movie they are awesome.
Best jog wheel video in a very long time! Love this trilogy! I seriously just got done watching BTTF.
Awesome! Very glad to hear you liked it.
I'd go back to the 80s! (even though I like the Fifties more)
Man Of Steel: A brilliant film with a powerful narrative, top notch special effects and all arpund great performances. 10/10
The only trilogy I can think of with three films of equal quality.
looking forward to the next review
glad you love it Back to the future is one of my all time favourite films
Man Of Steel: An amazing film with a powerful narrative, top notch special effects and all around great performances. 10/10
Right on! That's twice that one of my reviews has made it on to movie night :)
Thor: The Dark World: Gives the audience exactly what they want, great fight scenes, excellent visuals and Loki. Surprisingly emotional and the climax is incredibly entertaining . 8/10
What a coincidence! It has been less than a week I decided to watch the Back to the Future Trilogy! I am watching the third movie tonight!
Awesome! Hope you like it.
The first film, of course, is a masterpiece and stands along side some of the greatest movies ever made!
Part II was a disappointment for me. I believe the problem was simply that it tried too hard.

Jon have you ever seen Clue the movie?

Rumor has it that they finally have a prototype flying car at last. :)
This was an amazing video!!
Glad you liked it!
Man of Steel: A bit too heavy on the exposition but a well put-together flick with some breathtaking action, 7/10
Man of Steel - Great acting, beautiful cinematography, triumphant music, wonderful story, I'd go far as to say its just as if not better than the Puzo original. 10/10
...and the halfway point ad broke the video :/
Thor: The Dark World: It may not be the best Marvel film, but it is filled with enough great action and humor to make up for a somewhat convoluted story. 8/10
Anyone who loves science fiction must see the Back to the Future trilogy at least once.
imo all the back to the future are great and are flawless and a whole and 1 part is no better or worse , I see them as 1 solid seamless movie
Thor: The Dark World: A fun action packed ride with great characters and a decent story. One that I will be revisiting again. 8/10
Great great review! My favorite movie as well!
Thor: The Dark World: I love the marvel cinematic universe and this is no exception, with the right amount of humour, visuals and good acting, this is a really fun movie and definitely worth a watch 10/10
I just saw this vid in my subbox. I was scared shitless for 1.2 seconds. I thought for a moment that this vid was a news anouncement that said that there would be a back to the future remake... damn
Fucking epic intro I should say. Caught my grammar there. haha
I would go to Ancient Rome. Seeing the remnants of it was one of my favorite parts of going to Italy and I've love to see a Colosseum fight.
Man of Steel: A welcome addition to the classic franchise, it establishes Superman quickly, and the consequences of being him. 8/10
Man of steel was a great action packed film that covered every aspect of superman greatly. Only thing missing was the comedy aspect. 9/10
this is a movie trilogy that my mom and I watch all the time and we do the movie quotes too. I love the movies ^w^
Epic fucking intro Jon!!!!
I agree, I enjoy the third movie a little more than the rest, Sometimes.
I don't really like to rank them, I like to see it as one long movie.
I'd travel to the future somewhere around the year 3245 because I want to see where we're going.
Man of Steel: Interesting and revives the Superman franchise and was a good watch that I was tempted to see again. 9/10
Man of Steel - Not a terrible film. Touches on some deep subjects and is executed terrifically. My favorite film of the summer, 8/10
madmax next ? dunno if it has been done
Great Scott!
if i had a time machine i would go back in time to the age of dinosaurs with a group of proffessional animal tamers and capture a few velociraptors to bring back it would be amazing
Man of Steel: Amazing visuals with a decent story and incredible acting. Not better than the original but better than Superman Returns, Michael Shannon is fantastic as General Zod. 8/10
Favorite movies all time are back to the future yes all of them
