whoa this was definitely the coolest take on a gaster battle!!!! i love so much that it includes papyrus's theme, along with a bit of snowdin. toby is really big on his leitmotifs, so i find gaster themes that lack in that department... well... lacking in a huge part of what makes the game. anyways, this is excellently done!

glad to see there are still people coming back to listen to this gem, still sounds as good as they day i discovered it back in 2016. i miss how big the game was and everything that was being made but im just happy i got to be there when it happened and the friends i made along the way.
We do have Deltarune, and that's popular and still being updated. Fitting, too, since the game is more or less *about* Gaster.

It's symbolic of how Sans and Papyrus ended up appearing out of nowhere in Snowdin after they were split from Gaster in the incident.
i love how there's a little bit of Megalo Strike Back (mainly the bassline) in some parts. it's seen as an undertale thing but was only ever on an earthbound album toby worked on. it's the undertale song that never was.

Such a cool character that absolutely needs to have his own fight and hidden story. He should only be accessible through file tampering though to give the impression that he is indeed this missingno-esque god like entity that exists beyond the fabric of the game's reality.
+A Red Panda I may not have made myself clear. I was aware of who Gaster was and how to access him in the game. I was merely highlighting the fact that this character deserves more love as he is probably my favourite thing about Undertale and nobody knows a thing about him.

My favorite of all of the Gaster remixes. It tells a short, interesting story. (Man, that ending is creepy) It's got great art. The tune changes tempo pretty fluidly, and I could certainly see this as a Scripted RPG battle. Thank you very much.

This would take place after 3 genocide runs. After killing Flowey, Chara would appear and begin talking, but she would get interrupted by a bone,
from Gaster. He would then come on screen, and then the dialogue would start. He would also actually use a special attack.
All for my idea of a Gaster battle.
honestly, my idea for gaster battle requirements is this:
1: it has to be right after (possibly after the second) genocide route. like, after chara murders the world (seeing as you both need to be i the void for gaster to interact with you, presumably)
2: Fun Value has to have been 66 at the start of the run (no need to even see the grey door). i say at the beginning of the run sice the FUN value resets to 0 when you encounter the gaster hallway
and then you only get one try against him, if you win, you get to go back into the world, and not have the future runs be soulless. if you lose, your gamestate goes back to what it was when you first ever played it, but you also remain soulless
Purple instant kill bones and red instant kill Gaster blasters

This should be your “punishment” for repeated genocide play throughs. A fight the creates its own rules then quickly breaks those rules. “You through murder was fun? Well then why don’t you have a go?”

I dunno if this one of your intentions with the Gaster battle, but I _love_ the idea of how in the battle you simply must *survive* Gaster until he begins to remember something, and how the music picks up (and presumably the battle gets tougher) when you try to close the game (It would also be cool if the on-screen text somehow led you to believe that was the solution).

This is amazing. Intense enough for a battle, yet still has a slightly creepy sound to it. It suits Gaster PERFECTLY ^^
I'd think unlocking this fight would go as so.
You first have to beat the runs in this order. Neutral, Pacifist and Genocide. Then, Begin a new genocide run. it will all be the same, But then after you beat sans, The game will reboot itself, Except there will be no actual opening sequence. Instead, You will be sent to waterfall. If you try to move away, You notice the world is slowly losing pixels. Then you get teleported back. After doing this twice, There will only be a path, Following this path will lead to a small platform. The way you come from disappears. Then Gaster glitches his way onto the screen. He then says in Wing-Dings "You cannot run from what you've done." And the fight begins. Upon getting to half HP, 1:49 will occur. Upon death, Your heart will instead of breaking apart, It will glitch violently for a moment, Then it returns to normal. "You won't get away that easy, Monster." (In Wing-Dings.) After beating him, The game will go absolutely bonkers, before restarting. Your save is deleted.
+Marcus Chipi You know what would I add? A tiny parameter that's hidden inside the game, that basically says "Gaster is dead". And with it changed, Gaster will NOT appear. So, basically you only have a single chance to change anything. After that, the game is post-genocide forever, and even deleting the save file will not bring Gaster back, even if it will "repair" the game.

I definitely hear some Giygas theme noises in there. If they aren't the ones from it, they sound damn near the same, and that's not a bad thing lol.
you can hear it at " the end" (where you have to fight asgore) too.
The music in the final sidequest to get the true ending, the one that is deep below (you know what I'm talking about) uses a LOT of those instruments and sounds

The jittering of the megalo strike back bass soundbits reminds me of practically any alien fight theme in older games. Gaster is to any and all extents an alien entity to us now, so it makes sense. The first half feels nearly perfect for an Earthbound/Undertale inspired piece.

The ending made me a little sad though, although I do wonder why Bonetrousle and Snowdin's bgm played just before you defeat him, is he remembering something from his past/before he fell into the Core?

One thing that nobody noticed was the fact that in the interface you have 20 Hp with 1 level, that means that in reality the person struggling with gaster is not frisk, but Kris from deltarune

I personally think if there was a Gaster battle, certain requirements would need to be met. You’d have to see him in his hidden room, first of all, and second, you would have to complete Genocide at most 10 times, something you can do to tell you’ve got it is if your character states something odd is in the wind, or that the characters have seam lines around their eyes, or perhaps Chara saying something isn’t right. After completing Genocide in that run, Chara would appear, looking terrified and haunted. She wouldn’t speak down to you as normal, but warn you because something is off for her. The air is cold. The screen fades to black, ENTRY 17 appears on screen as stated in the game. A sprite of Gaster would appear, and erase Chara from the game. Your health bar goes missing, and you begin the fight with Gaster. If you lose, the game glitches the fuck out and crashes before the fight begins again.

Still my favorite theme for a Gaster battle
I'd say an official theme for what we (probably) will fight Gaster in Deltarune, it'd be more collected and melancholic, but still oppressive. This is an excellent interpretation in its own right, but the tone isn't quite right, I find.

I'm not sure if I've said this in the comments before but this is a way better theme for Gaster than Dark, Darker, Yet Darker. A lot more energizing, sporadic, and foreboding; the whispers of the Amalgamates panning back and forth definitely helps give it that eerie, foreboding mood; plus adding Bonetrousle and Snowy at the end is a nice touch. Also how can you say no to the visuals ^-^
