Weird route is an anomaly, the game tries so hard to make you stop it, yet you still *proceed* , leaving behind actual consequences that the rules of this world would have never allowed to happen. Each chapter continuing the weird route would have led the story going in a wilder and more messed up path each time, till it becomes unrecognizable from the original ("At this point, why even care about a stupid legend?"), and eventually gaster will have enough of your meddling and intervene himself. Technically this could be the TRUE ending, breaking out of the simulation.

See there's two theories I have on how Gaster feels about the Weird/Snowgrave route. Either 1. He's fascinated by it, either having intentionally left this secret path, or amazed at you being able to truly crack this world open, and encourages the exploration. or 2. He's frustrated by it, by you somehow being able to break away from the path he set out for you and ruining his experiment.
I think both, at the start like ch. 2-4 he finds it fascinating, but then 5-6 he gets mad that the experiment didn't go as planned so he attacks you early at ch. 6
i like to imagine that this really is an unwinnable fight. Like, gaster genuinely cannot be beaten and eventually just ends the fight by making the game permanently unplayable. He just ends the entire game in the most unsatisfying way for you because he realizes its the easiest way to get rid of you.
Or even better, you have to defeat him in a very obscure way that Toby was SUPPOSED to make as a secret, but due to people ignoring a certain warning, he decided not to do that, therefore making the fight unbeatable.
Instead of making the game unplayable, why not change it to become unplayable? Whenever you boot up the game after fighting Gaster, you are met with nothing but a constant loop of 123_abc.ogg ?

This really makes you feel like you are the the villain of the story. While Gaster doesn't seem like a hero, he is more of an anti-hero. He'll protect everyone's lives from you but probably has some ulterior motive. It's similar to Undying in Genocide but here? The playing field is leveled. You are NOT the one in control here!
Well, nothing Gaster canonically did implies his morality. He built the core, he went boom, and he possibly helped us create a vessel, which all sound like nice, or at least neutral things

@BakerBones i dont think he'd be the chapter boss necessarily, but I do think you'd encounter him (which would be the normal encounter/battle songs posted before this one) but in snowgrave you've broken the game so much he tries to stop you or does something rash to achieve a more powerful form. If papyrus is the knight (and you fight him in ch5) maybe you only kill him in snowgrave/weird, and this sends gaster over the deep end?
@@leadluigiI think in the Pacifist route, Gaster will continue his current role as somewhat of an ally to the Delta Warriors. But in the Weird Route, I want to see this guy break. He's (or Papyrus, who is affiliated with him) already abstained from giving you the egg in Chapter 2. Multiple things point to Gaster being generally somewhat aligned toward good as well, not enough to make him an outright hero at all times, but he has enough Determination and care for the rest of the world (especially his Goners & the Darkness he had a hand in creating) that by Chapter 6 I could see him being driven to the brink, breaking his patience and scientific observation. Think Sans, but sort of different. Also, what if Sans & Papyrus escaped from a world where the Player used Kris to kill everyone except Gaster was able to buy them time to escape with the machine he built?

He's basically Omega Flowey, becoming a god ,but with Sans' and Undyne's motivations,ending your tale of genocide and manipulation once and for all
@@LmaololXdhithe font is the same as the rest of the game. it's very likely not chara. chara has no reason to show up in deltarune as they were in undertale. Flowey, who was a character with similar power to chara (save, load, go through timelines, reset) isn't in deltarune. Asriel, who knows about the player as well (since he remembers what he did as flowey), isn't in deltarune as he was in undertale, either : he's there as his deltarune counterpart. the only reason why gaster is, is because he was literally broken across time and space.

I like to imagine a fight with Gaster will be completely impossible to win, because we need a file from Undertale to do so. A file which, thanks to data miners ignoring a certain dog's warning, will never be added to the game.

I imagine that after you reinstall the game (surreal themselves said that gaster uninstalls deltarune after you "beat" him) every save you made would be deleted expect for the snowgrave save, which would have unique void style ui and if you were to try to delete or enter it gaster would tell you something like "DID I ERASE YOUR MEMORIES TOO OR DID YOU THINK I HAVE LOST MY POWER? I AM THE ONE IN CONTROL, NOT YOU "
What if you try and make a new save file? Would Gaster still say F0ck you, or would he allow it but now erases any free will you had or prevents any options to go Weird Route?

in undertale, there was the interpretation that frisk was the angel, freeing the monsters through mercy or death, but with this, its Gaster vs the actual angel. i love the callback.
In deltarune the angel is we a player because the soul (which is us) have a white light it's can be noticed in the fight with king and when fountain gets sealed so we can say what in deltarune gaster fights against us
Imagine that you get scattered in the void of time and space. You spend an infinetly long time figuring our how to unteract with the outside world. You succeed. Then you spend an infinetly long time figuring out how to create worlds. Along the way, you realize that there are other beings that are almost on your level, being able to interact with worlds and control time. The only thing separating you from them is that they're not from this world. You want to study these beings, but since you know their power, you treat them more as equals than anything. You create a passion project, an alternative world of the one you were born in, in which the beings could play in. The world is about something everybody should like: saving the world, and making some good friends along the way. You even railroaded the story so much that no matter what choises they would make, they would still be the heroes saving the world. Then, the first being came. You gave them a body. You let them be, gave them second chances when they failed. Then that little fucker goes out of their way to derail the story and make themselves the bad guy. They go and start killing everybody they can, their friends and enemies. They do everything in their power to make your story, your world, your passion project, completely unrecognisable. Worst of all, they know that this is your world. They know that you're in control. And, when you get pissed and come to scold, kill and replace them, as a final question to study this being, you ask: "Why did you do this?" Them: "..." Them: "Because I could"
Doing every weird route in one playthrough being impossible bc gaster making chapter 6 unbeatable actually really fits with how toby makes the weird routes as disappointing as possible. The inclusion of your best nightmare makes me think that gaster hijacks the game over screen like flowey, making it impossible to reach a save point to reset from and completing the softlock
I think if gaster is ever beat in these games I think it’s gonna be a very happy ending where even he gets to be reformed but this one tho I think gasters just tired of you bs
the your best nightmare sampling is legitimately the best part of the song and adds so much depth to this. there’s been SO many deltarune ust compositions and i think you take the cake for numero uno
I imagine this would happen after doing all Snowgrave routes in chapter 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. The ending of chapter 6 is different, but the game doesn't continue to chapter 7. Instead, we are met with Gaster himself, revealing that he was the voice at the start of the game and that the due to our own choices, the experiment has failed. You fight gaster but the longer the fight goes, the game gets more and more corrupted, text starts to dissapear, random party members are added and then removed, in the end, you can't win against Gaster and after Gaster wins, he explains that the experiment will have to be redone, and deletes the game. The next time you play the game, some things will be very different and like Undertale's genocide ending, it will be a permanent change unless you delete a certain file.
the only problem with "deleting a certain file" is that it might be impossible on console based on toby releasing the chapters on switch, i don't think he'll do something like that unless you're supposed to just erase your save data entirely
I love this it shows how much youve grown as an artist in all abilities from storytelling with music and emotions with it. I believe that you have successfully executed what you wanted to do quite well and have done great at it.
Hearing Homestuck leitmotifs in this made me super happy, I would probably lose my mind if I actually heard something like this in Deltarune, you did an amazing job on this!
Just listening to this makes me think of an epic battle. You finally reach chapter 6, but if you gone the snowgrave route, when entering, the game crashes. When rebooted you are met with a broken down version of the menu. When heading back, the ground breaks and the artwork for gaster here appears, with at the beginning of the fight, Gaster removes your Accessibility to. Use the buttons, forcing you to try and survive.

I've always loved the idea that Gaster will have fully voiced tts. Hearing a little bit in the beginning and later in the song was fantastic! These recent songs have been a wonderful Gasterfest, and this is a pretty neat way to end it. I love how strongly the core motifs are present in the song. The Don't Forget part at 2:44 also reminds me of this one youtube channel that remixed a lot of songs to sound more like Gaster's themes. I really like how it reminds you that you're fighting Gaster at the (nearly) endgame.
You know while all of these final Gaster fights are cool, but it would be nice to see Gaster as an ally. The player fights a godlike entity (in this case it’s the same one that stopped you from using your vessel), and while the entity is far more powerful than Kris or us, we are receiving help from Gaster
@@surreal6055I'm genuinely super stoked by the idea of Gaster being a force that leans into being an ally. Like, I want him to be relatively morally gray as that's how he currently is, but it just feels so "Gastery" for him to treat us as more of "Teammates" than "friends" if you know what I mean? Other than Sans & Papyrus, those two are definitely closer to Gaster in some way. But, yeah, I just love seeing content depicting Gaster as an in between of the old fandom depiction of an evil godly omnipresent scientist, and the way Deltarune paints him so far as a sort of anti hero/moderately good character. It's interesting.
Ah yes, the three Genders. Mysterious old lad who messes with people from his comfy corner in background of reality. The mismatched amalgamation of a sundered man's bits, the pieces no longer fit as they should. It's definitely trying to do *something,* although it's unclear if even "it" knows what it's doing. The Grand mastermind with an even grander plan, who must still take care not to let the Pawns reach the other side of the board.
Okay, I had an idea for 4 endings to this: Ending 1: Removal. Basically if you did the weird route in chapters 2-6, the fight PROCEEDs as normal and ends with Gaster kicking you out. If you try to open the game again, it simply won't open and you have to re-download it. Ending 2: Remorse. This ending happens if you don't do chapter 6's weird route. The fight goes on as normal but with slightly altered dialog. At the end, instead of kicking you out, Gaster fully resets the game and deletes all data, asking you to try again. If you do this ending twice you just get ending 1 the second time. Ending 3: SYSTEM FAILURE: If you have an Undertale geno save on the computer, gaster fully corrupts the game. There is no way to replay it. Ending 4: Regret: If you have an Undertale geno save and do ending 2, gaster notices this and offers you a choice. A clean slate for undertale or deltarune. The one you choose is fully reset, as if you never even touched it. The other one you are permanently locked out of. The only way to get the other one back is to re-download it.
Here we go: this is what my mind came up with (tl;dr you do weird route, kill friends, and fight gaystar) in this chapter, gaster is a supporting character all the way through, who joins your team. when you reach his lab (which is the final area before the fountain room), he gives you an item called “hand donut” (which heals for 150 health) before fighting you to make sure you are ready to progress. He then explains that once that fountain is sealed, they will fight the titan, who will try to reopen all dark fountains ever closed. However, that is the normal route,this is the weird route. At first, he is a supporting character but as you begin to do more [[weird stuff]] he begins to become less supportive and at decides to leave the team. Susie, ralsei and Noelle also leave the team and follow gaster to his laboratory. Once you arrive, all of them are sitting down except Susie. Susie says “Kris, i don’t know what’s gotten into you… what you’re doing, it’s wrong… it’s not cool, it’s scary. It’s like you’re a different person. . . Cmon Kris, say something? *sighs* “Remember when I told you that quiet people piss me off? I was lying. I was just trying to be scary,Kris. But you know what pisses me off? The fact that all this time, we’ve been friends and yet it feels like I don’t even know you. It pisses me off that you’re so nonchalant about everything, even now you wear that same bored expression. It pisses me off, Kris… what you’ve become…” *ralsei stands up* “Kris, I’m sorry” *fight initiates, “you won you get (insert random number) exp.”* *susie looks up at you* “Heh…heh… not the first time I’ve been betrayed by those I love…” *ralsei looks at you, genuinely shocked* “Kris…? You really hate me that much?” *noelle, however, has no reaction and stays quiet* *all 3 of them die* as you continue to the fountain room you see gaster standing by the fountain, facing you. “Hello lightner, would you like a cup of tea? That’s what I would have said right now. We’d all be sitting in my lab enjoying tea and eating hand donuts. But they’re dead aren’t they? Gone… because the worst person never changes… even when it comes to their friends…” *he turns around* “this fountain is the last one anyone will ever encounter. I love just how cinematic these songs can be... It's like I'm actually there... Im working on a fan game called DeltaSwept, the main characters are Berdly, Asriel, and a character called Wormsley, the chapter barely fllow the same themes they did in deltarune, chapter 1 is in a game room, but instead of jevil its a character called Clay J. Clayson, which looks like gumby, chapter 1 is called Family Fun, Chapter 2 is called Arcadia.

Not even gonna lie a bit, it would be sick if the only way you could damage gaster would be from a sword made up from the shadow crystals from the secret bosses that seam will make you. Oh my goodness this is amazing. Ever since I subscribed i was hoping for a doomsday replacement, and this is absolutely amazing. The little reference to spamton. Its just amazing. Straight A’s across the board. I had a massive smile on my face listening to it first time. This is absolutely amazing. Literally the only thing that can top it is FATE of the world.
I like how the wings coming off is the scene where you make a character: the first time you interact with Gaster. I also find how there's an eye in each hand, and one in the middle of Gaster's upper boddy. Almost seems like the titans are coming off of him, using his power. The way Gaster as a whole looks, it's similar to an angel, the same angel that the Legend talks about. It also seems theres bars in Gaster's mouth; almost like a jail cell.

I love this! It's extremely well done, and that's especially amplified by the visual work, if you did that too! If I had literally one complaint is that a few transitions between melodies feel kind of abrupt, but other than that, it's amazing

@@ciselkane05 This. Weird route is an anomaly, the game tries so hard to make you stop it, yet you still *proceed* , leaving behind actual consequences that the rules of this world would have never allowed to happen.
Each chapter continuing the weird route would have led the story going in a wilder and more messed up path each time, till it becomes unrecognizable from the original ("At this point, why even care about a stupid legend?"), and eventually gaster will have enough of your meddling and intervene himself.
Technically this could be the TRUE ending, breaking out of the simulation.

See there's two theories I have on how Gaster feels about the Weird/Snowgrave route.
Either 1. He's fascinated by it, either having intentionally left this secret path, or amazed at you being able to truly crack this world open, and encourages the exploration.
or 2. He's frustrated by it, by you somehow being able to break away from the path he set out for you and ruining his experiment.
Probably the latter, since mysterious man behind the tree doesn't give you an egg during the Weird route
I think both, at the start like ch. 2-4 he finds it fascinating, but then 5-6 he gets mad that the experiment didn't go as planned so he attacks you early at ch. 6

i like to imagine that this really is an unwinnable fight. Like, gaster genuinely cannot be beaten and eventually just ends the fight by making the game permanently unplayable. He just ends the entire game in the most unsatisfying way for you because he realizes its the easiest way to get rid of you.
Or even better, you have to defeat him in a very obscure way that Toby was SUPPOSED to make as a secret, but due to people ignoring a certain warning, he decided not to do that, therefore making the fight unbeatable.

This really makes you feel like you are the the villain of the story. While Gaster doesn't seem like a hero, he is more of an anti-hero. He'll protect everyone's lives from you but probably has some ulterior motive. It's similar to Undying in Genocide but here? The playing field is leveled. You are NOT the one in control here!
Well, nothing Gaster canonically did implies his morality. He built the core, he went boom, and he possibly helped us create a vessel, which all sound like nice, or at least neutral things

@BakerBones i dont think he'd be the chapter boss necessarily, but I do think you'd encounter him (which would be the normal encounter/battle songs posted before this one) but in snowgrave you've broken the game so much he tries to stop you or does something rash to achieve a more powerful form. If papyrus is the knight (and you fight him in ch5) maybe you only kill him in snowgrave/weird, and this sends gaster over the deep end?
@@leadluigiI think in the Pacifist route, Gaster will continue his current role as somewhat of an ally to the Delta Warriors. But in the Weird Route, I want to see this guy break.
He's (or Papyrus, who is affiliated with him) already abstained from giving you the egg in Chapter 2.
Multiple things point to Gaster being generally somewhat aligned toward good as well, not enough to make him an outright hero at all times, but he has enough Determination and care for the rest of the world (especially his Goners & the Darkness he had a hand in creating) that by Chapter 6 I could see him being driven to the brink, breaking his patience and scientific observation. Think Sans, but sort of different.
Also, what if Sans & Papyrus escaped from a world where the Player used Kris to kill everyone except Gaster was able to buy them time to escape with the machine he built?

chara has no reason to show up in deltarune as they were in undertale.
Flowey, who was a character with similar power to chara (save, load, go through timelines, reset) isn't in deltarune. Asriel, who knows about the player as well (since he remembers what he did as flowey), isn't in deltarune as he was in undertale, either : he's there as his deltarune counterpart.
the only reason why gaster is, is because he was literally broken across time and space.

I imagine that after you reinstall the game (surreal themselves said that gaster uninstalls deltarune after you "beat" him) every save you made would be deleted expect for the snowgrave save, which would have unique void style ui and if you were to try to delete or enter it gaster would tell you something like
"DID I ERASE YOUR MEMORIES TOO OR DID YOU THINK I HAVE LOST MY POWER? I AM THE ONE IN CONTROL, NOT YOU "
What if you try and make a new save file? Would Gaster still say F0ck you, or would he allow it but now erases any free will you had or prevents any options to go Weird Route?

in undertale, there was the interpretation that frisk was the angel, freeing the monsters through mercy or death, but with this, its Gaster vs the actual angel. i love the callback.
In deltarune the angel is we a player because the soul (which is us) have a white light it's can be noticed in the fight with king and when fountain gets sealed so we can say what in deltarune gaster fights against us
Imagine that you get scattered in the void of time and space. You spend an infinetly long time figuring our how to unteract with the outside world. You succeed. Then you spend an infinetly long time figuring out how to create worlds. Along the way, you realize that there are other beings that are almost on your level, being able to interact with worlds and control time. The only thing separating you from them is that they're not from this world. You want to study these beings, but since you know their power, you treat them more as equals than anything. You create a passion project, an alternative world of the one you were born in, in which the beings could play in. The world is about something everybody should like: saving the world, and making some good friends along the way. You even railroaded the story so much that no matter what choises they would make, they would still be the heroes saving the world.
Then, the first being came. You gave them a body. You let them be, gave them second chances when they failed. Then that little fucker goes out of their way to derail the story and make themselves the bad guy. They go and start killing everybody they can, their friends and enemies. They do everything in their power to make your story, your world, your passion project, completely unrecognisable. Worst of all, they know that this is your world. They know that you're in control.
And, when you get pissed and come to scold, kill and replace them, as a final question to study this being, you ask: "Why did you do this?"
Them: "..."
Them: "Because I could"

Doing every weird route in one playthrough being impossible bc gaster making chapter 6 unbeatable actually really fits with how toby makes the weird routes as disappointing as possible. The inclusion of your best nightmare makes me think that gaster hijacks the game over screen like flowey, making it impossible to reach a save point to reset from and completing the softlock
I think the implication here is that Chapter 7 has no Weird Route, so if you've been going down all the Weird Routes, Gaster ends your game early
I think if gaster is ever beat in these games I think it’s gonna be a very happy ending where even he gets to be reformed but this one tho I think gasters just tired of you bs

I imagine this would happen after doing all Snowgrave routes in chapter 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. The ending of chapter 6 is different, but the game doesn't continue to chapter 7. Instead, we are met with Gaster himself, revealing that he was the voice at the start of the game and that the due to our own choices, the experiment has failed. You fight gaster but the longer the fight goes, the game gets more and more corrupted, text starts to dissapear, random party members are added and then removed, in the end, you can't win against Gaster and after Gaster wins, he explains that the experiment will have to be redone, and deletes the game. The next time you play the game, some things will be very different and like Undertale's genocide ending, it will be a permanent change unless you delete a certain file.

the only problem with "deleting a certain file" is that it might be impossible on console
based on toby releasing the chapters on switch, i don't think he'll do something like that

Hearing Homestuck leitmotifs in this made me super happy, I would probably lose my mind if I actually heard something like this in Deltarune, you did an amazing job on this!

Just listening to this makes me think of an epic battle. You finally reach chapter 6, but if you gone the snowgrave route, when entering, the game crashes. When rebooted you are met with a broken down version of the menu. When heading back, the ground breaks and the artwork for gaster here appears, with at the beginning of the fight, Gaster removes your Accessibility to. Use the buttons, forcing you to try and survive.
Also maybe extra detail with the menu is that the text saying where you saved would be replaced with “YOUR FAULT” also the background would be gone

I've always loved the idea that Gaster will have fully voiced tts. Hearing a little bit in the beginning and later in the song was fantastic! These recent songs have been a wonderful Gasterfest, and this is a pretty neat way to end it. I love how strongly the core motifs are present in the song. The Don't Forget part at 2:44 also reminds me of this one youtube channel that remixed a lot of songs to sound more like Gaster's themes. I really like how it reminds you that you're fighting Gaster at the (nearly) endgame.

You know while all of these final Gaster fights are cool, but it would be nice to see Gaster as an ally. The player fights a godlike entity (in this case it’s the same one that stopped you from using your vessel), and while the entity is far more powerful than Kris or us, we are receiving help from Gaster

Like, I want him to be relatively morally gray as that's how he currently is, but it just feels so "Gastery" for him to treat us as more of "Teammates" than "friends" if you know what I mean? Other than Sans & Papyrus, those two are definitely closer to Gaster in some way. But, yeah, I just love seeing content depicting Gaster as an in between of the old fandom depiction of an evil godly omnipresent scientist, and the way Deltarune paints him so far as a sort of anti hero/moderately good character. It's interesting.

Okay, I had an idea for 4 endings to this:
Ending 1: Removal. Basically if you did the weird route in chapters 2-6, the fight PROCEEDs as normal and ends with Gaster kicking you out. If you try to open the game again, it simply won't open and you have to re-download it.
Ending 2: Remorse. This ending happens if you don't do chapter 6's weird route. The fight goes on as normal but with slightly altered dialog. At the end, instead of kicking you out, Gaster fully resets the game and deletes all data, asking you to try again. If you do this ending twice you just get ending 1 the second time.
Ending 3: SYSTEM FAILURE: If you have an Undertale geno save on the computer, gaster fully corrupts the game. There is no way to replay it.
Ending 4: Regret: If you have an Undertale geno save and do ending 2, gaster notices this and offers you a choice. A clean slate for undertale or deltarune. The one you choose is fully reset, as if you never even touched it. The other one you are permanently locked out of. The only way to get the other one back is to re-download it.
This has to be one of my favorite songs/remixes made by you. And the usage of CORE leitmotifs is just perfect. 66/10
Here we go: this is what my mind came up with (tl;dr you do weird route, kill friends, and fight gaystar)
in this chapter, gaster is a supporting character all the way through, who joins your team. when you reach his lab (which is the final area before the fountain room), he gives you an item called “hand donut” (which heals for 150 health) before fighting you to make sure you are ready to progress. He then explains that once that fountain is sealed, they will fight the titan, who will try to reopen all dark fountains ever closed. However, that is the normal route,this is the weird route. At first, he is a supporting character but as you begin to do more [[weird stuff]] he begins to become less supportive and at decides to leave the team. Susie, ralsei and Noelle also leave the team and follow gaster to his laboratory. Once you arrive, all of them are sitting down except Susie. Susie says “Kris, i don’t know what’s gotten into you… what you’re doing, it’s wrong… it’s not cool, it’s scary. It’s like you’re a different person. . . Cmon Kris, say something? *sighs* “Remember when I told you that quiet people piss me off? I was lying. I was just trying to be scary,Kris. But you know what pisses me off? The fact that all this time, we’ve been friends and yet it feels like I don’t even know you. It pisses me off that you’re so nonchalant about everything, even now you wear that same bored expression. It pisses me off, Kris… what you’ve become…” *ralsei stands up* “Kris, I’m sorry” *fight initiates, “you won you get (insert random number) exp.”* *susie looks up at you* “Heh…heh… not the first time I’ve been betrayed by those I love…” *ralsei looks at you, genuinely shocked* “Kris…? You really hate me that much?” *noelle, however, has no reaction and stays quiet* *all 3 of them die* as you continue to the fountain room you see gaster standing by the fountain, facing you. “Hello lightner, would you like a cup of tea? That’s what I would have said right now. We’d all be sitting in my lab enjoying tea and eating hand donuts. But they’re dead aren’t they? Gone… because the worst person never changes… even when it comes to their friends…” *he turns around* “this fountain is the last one anyone will ever encounter. I will not allow you to seal it, because if you do… there will be dire conse- *you slash him* “You are determined, child. As I was saying, if you seal that fountain, the roaring titans will awaken. He will open every dark world ever sealed. the roaring will begin. But that’s what you wanted, right? To be able to save the day once again?Something to make you look like the good guy? Not. I like how the wings coming off is the scene where you make a character: the first time you interact with Gaster. I also find how there's an eye in each hand, and one in the middle of Gaster's upper boddy. Almost seems like the titans are coming off of him, using his power. The way Gaster as a whole looks, it's similar to an angel, the same angel that the Legend talks about. It also seems theres bars in Gaster's mouth; almost like a jail cell.
