I’m a gay man who is horrified by the direction of the LGBT community as of 2023. Let me shed some additional light on non-binary. Non-binary is not a real identity. It is an identity born completely out of ‘queer theory’ classrooms, nothing more, nothing less. It’s not a real identity they way that say, being Black is a valid identity. When you look at the Black community in the USA, you will find black conservatives, black liberals, black vegans, black meat eaters, black Catholics, Lutherans, Muslims, I even met a black Jew once. My point it is that there is a huge spectrum of identities, beliefs, and personalities in the Black American community. When you meet someone who calls them selves non-binary, they are only extreme, extreme leftists. This is a political identity and nothing more

Pinning this! 1) your username is giving my life 2) I’m bisexual and I am also horrified by the direction and corrosiveness of the gay community.
They dropped the B from LGBTQ because to say someone is bisexual affirms that there’s only two genders. So we can go fuck ourselves I guess right? And then they have the audacity to preach about being inclusive??
Miss me with that. People need to get an identity based on achievements and contributions to the world.

I even got bullied by a teacher. Yet, literally no one cared. But god damn if you even ACCIDENTALLY misgender someone. It’s complete nonsense. When Demi broke off her last engagement to Max, she mentioned something along the lines of, “It didn’t feel authentic for me to be with a man sexually.” But here’s the thing, did it ever occur to her she just wasn’t sexually compatible with MAX specifically? Why the huge overcorrection to “now I’m non-binary”? Also - clearly she’s fine with dating men, so that wasn’t the issue? I mean I could go on and on. I looooved Demi for years and I think she has one of the most amazing voices ever. I just hope she’s more grounded and happy now.

    Omg Shallon you’re so right.
I’ve been trying this new thing where I say to myself “I am not weird, I just think I am” and because of this I’ve tried experimenting by messaging people I was convinced disliked me and their responses have been warm and great. I always made myself the victim because I told myself I’m so weird, a loner, different, etc which made me keep people away because I didn’t want to work on myself. It was like insect repellent for love. Looking back I didn’t hold friendships because I was genuinely a bad friend, not attentive to anyone but myself, and generally a bitter person from being bullied, which is why I thought I was so weird. I literally manifested it. I want to smack my old self on her face but I know that she needed to heal first before hearing this harsh truth. Here’s to a new year 🥂 I’m so excited to see what this new version of myself brings.

The thing I don't really get about being non-binary is that there is no one right way of feeling like a woman. You can be a tomboy, sporty, butch, feminine, hyper-girly, eclectic and present yourself however you like but it doesn't invalidate your gender. And the irony is that a lot of non-binary people kind of have the same look. It's what we would have called androgynous in the past, but apparently, that word doesn't exist anymore.

The thing that disturbs me most about the whole they/them “movement” is the forcing a new term on to the rest of us, like??? Why does it feel almost like a slur when they call us cis..? I can’t explain it but it’s very unsettling bc now you’ve stripped me of my own identity/title ?? That’s really not ok. We didn’t choose that. I have no issue with you calling yourself whatever you want to, it genuinely doesn’t affect me, I’ll even humour you and refer to you as the they/them title if it genuinely means that much to you and it would hurt you if I didn’t.. sure I can do that if you’re someone in my life, I don’t want anyone to feel bad about themselves (in the same notion I would go along with a child calling themselves a superhero or a princess, it’s harmless and it means the world to them so ok let’s go your highness 😂). However, insisting that now I refer to myself as something other than girl/she/women where by you correct me and add “cis” to my identity is actually incredibly hypocritical and unkind. No thank you, I take offence.
    That’s it. That’s all. ✌🏽

    • @redguysuperiority
      @redguysuperiority 8 месяцев назад +1

the terms cis and trans have existed long before gender identity in humans became a big thing. if you don't want to be called cis... trans is kind of the only other option, soooo
its not a slur to be called cis. it is literally saying that your gender assigned at birth matches with the gender you identify as. do you not want that? because like i said, the alternative is trans
you can totally just refer to yourself as a woman. no one is stopping you from doing that. its just a prefix that is added when there is a necessity to differentiate between a cis person and a trans person, so unless that's the case you don't have to add that you are cis? you are still a woman, just as a trans woman would still be a woman even if she didn't add trans as a prefix (i'm using women as an example since that's what you commented about)

What annoys me about Demi is what she is SO talented ! Her voice has been incredible since the camp rock days and when she actually focuses on making music consistently she makes bops , but her career is now just based on bullshit and drama . I’ve known a few they them girls in real life and it’s always girls who are boring or not attractive and don’t feel good about themselves. I’ve also heard actual trans people on the jubilee debates talk about how non binary is basically just people inserting themselves into an actual medical condition that can be diagnosed and they don’t transition etc just call themselves “they “ and claim to be oppressed 😂

Shallon, your reading of the caption of Demi's fiance was freaking hilarious. Husband grammar! I love it. 😂 This whole video was 100% truth. I too used to be very liberal until three years ago when I worked with a 28-yo obese lesbian who told me she "discovered" she was a man/he/him after taking some really excellent shrooms. I am not making that up. Seeing the instant status and control the pronoun thing gave her over coworkers and managers, who were falling all over themselves to speak exactly as she wanted them to speak, made me sick to my stomach. Everyone was her puppet, with HR's full support--even though she constantly made inappropriate sexual comments and created a classic hostile environment. Thankfully she quit three months later and everything went back to normal. I have to give her credit though for making me really question everything about the left and eventually leave it and become a centrist/moderate. Recently I read an article in Smithsonian Magazine about the nostalgia of American Girl dolls, and at the end one of the interviewees said the dolls are no longer relevant since "being a girl is a social construct and not a biological reality." The topic may be new, but tactic-wise the trans movement is just plain old-fashioned propaganda, manipulation, and censorship.

Add to that all I am fairly certain I'm in the midst of perimenopause and all that fun. Ugh I am just so freaking tired... to the point that I honestly do not know what it is I even want anymore. When I think of the things that once drove me I am simply underwhelmed, I couldn't care less, those things just are not the same anymore. These goals and possessions mean very little to me, in truth. It was always our family, our commitment, our connection that meant everything to me. The things are just things and they've all lost their meaning.😔

I agree with majority of what you’re saying. I think a lot of what you are talking about is super “chronically online”. It sounds insane, yes, but when have you ever actually encountered someone like that? I personally haven’t. The internet has unfortunately given everyone a voice, which leads to everyone thinking they are special, are so different, and the need to have their own specific “niche” (example; insane sounding pronouns.)
Sex and gender are different. A long time ago, we as a society decided to create gender norms specifically to boys vs girls. Deciding to explore your gender identity through names, clothes, makeup, etc, is not the same as randomly deciding you want to be a lawyer, or fly a plane. Those are concrete things in society, gender is not concrete. Gender is actually just something we made up. It can be anything you want.
However, there are always people who take things to extremes. Nothing should ever be extreme, IMO. Is there a link between unhappy people, mentally ill people, and those who struggle with their identity? Probably. Can this result in they/thems and other ways to change your identity? Yeah I think so. Sometimes people feel so unhappy and so uncomfortable with themselves, they can’t look in the mirror and change it. Just like you said. So they decide to change themselves completely. But yeah, that’s not how life works. You can’t just be something different unless you actually do the work. Turning those these extreme community’s with pronouns etc, can for sure be comparable to turning to drugs or alcohol to cope. Everyone wants to feel included. Sometimes we pick the wrong community to be included in.
Agreed that trauma can cause people to behavior in erratic behaviors. Those situations are different, rare and have a lot of nuance. It’s hard to comment on things like that when it’s situational and every one is different.
Working on yourself is hard but it’s worth it. Like you say, read the writing on the wall. Most people don’t. The victim card sucks lmfao
IMO this video is discussing mainly chronically online bs which I believe we should all just ignore. There is no need to be hateful. When I see people like this, I feel grateful for myself. Grateful I don’t struggle with my identity to such extremes. I’m sure that will come off as entitled and rude but it’s the truth lol
Just my 2 cents. Love you Shallon

But I remember you bringing it up from a Joel olsteen (sp?) thing you listened to.
With the new year coming, it’s so easy to be super optimistic in goals you want to set, but we never talk about the real tough parts about it. And I remember you saying the beginning is easy, the end is easy…but it’s that MIDDLE that’s so hard to get through!
