She honesty sounds fed up with herself more than proud on those later albums... It will be interesting to hear a follow up from her after all the drama.

While I do think being a mistress to a married man is shitty, it’s incredibly wrong to infantilize grown men by acting as if married men are magically taken away by other women. Men make their own choices. If a man wants to be loyal, he’ll simply be loyal. No one can force a man to do something that he doesn’t want to do. No married man gets taken away, they simply choose to cheat or leave.
While you do make a point about how men are never actually stolen, i believe there are two perspectives, the perspective of Ariana and the perspective of Ethan. In ethan’s case, its no ones fault but his own for cheating and he was the one who betrayed his wife, since Ariana doesnt owe his wife anything. However, it is still considered stealing when you as the mistress intentionally seduce a man away from his wife. Ariana is known for stealing boyfriends and now husbands.

I do agree that being a side chick really isn’t beneficial. The time you spend sneaking around with someone who’s in relationship is the same amount of time you can spend working on yourself or simply being with someone else. It’s really important to analyze why you might want to be with someone who’s already in a relationship to avoid being a side chick because being a side chick is actually unconscious self-sabotage.
For real. I mean sneaking around is fun, but if that’s what you want, just date someone single you work with. I have a close friend who dated married men for years, and she finally figured out (through therapy) that she had serious abandonment issues and was selecting men who could never “abandon” her because they basically already had, by not being able to fully commit since they were married. Once she uncovered the root of this toxic pattern she changed it immediately, and her self-worth increased so dramatically.
I don’t necessarily want to defend Ariana, but I do feel like this habit and pattern HAS to be rooted in something psychological. She is a deeply insecure person
Some women do become mistresses because of their own emotional unavailability. They don’t want to take an emotional risk by entering an authentic relationship because of fear or laziness and they also don’t want to take the time to understand what might be wrong with them out of fear or laziness which leads to them hurting themselves and others in the long run.
My dad left my mom and I for his mistress when I was a year old. She was 12 years younger than him and was also married at the time. Peoples typical first reaction when I tell them this is asking “are your dad and step mom still married?” And when I say yes the response is basically “oh that’s GREAT then!” Somehow the fact that they’re together erases the damage they both inflicted? Color me confused…

Nomi showed the keys to her new apartment in August 2016, which is exactly when the first photos of Mac and Ari together were taken. So i guess they still lived together up to this point. If you were a fan of Mac back then, and followed his and Nomi's Insta account, you could see what was going on there. not to mention that she wrote about the whole situation on her blog, only in a more sublime way - without names and fueling rumors. but yeah, it was definitely a shitty action and you could see her suffering. However, she remained very classy throughout the whole situation.

I also remember the narrative that supposedly Mac and Ari fell in love with each other much earlier and were basically constantly thinking about each other, but somehow they couldn't "find each other" - what nonsense, I think it must have been terrible for Nomi . My sisters “best friend” is a chronic man steeler/attention vacuum. She’s nice enough but the thing I can’t overlook is her desperation for mens attention, and the backstabbing of friends she’ll do to get it. She even tried to flirt with my boyfriend a bit once and he was not having it lol (good boy 😂). Every time my sister expresses she has a crush on a guy, her friend talks him down and acts like he’s not good enough for my sister, but then will turn right around and persue him herself! She even bragged to my sister that one of my sister’s exes propositioned her for sex and basically acted like she was “suchhh a good friend” for refusing…but she was purposefully rubbing it in my sisters face that he had tried to hook up with her to make her feel bad. I keep telling my sister: girl, that is NOT your friend, that’s your competition. But my sister is very naïve in some ways and forgiving. Anyways, my theory is these girls have abandonment issues relating to their fathers, so nothing gives them a greater thrill than winning the attention of men- even better if it’s stolen from an already taken one. (My sisters friend has serious trauma from her dad) And as you said, it’s a catch 22 getting into relationships with a taken man, if it works, he CHOSE you, you are *worthyy*, if it doesn’t work, it’s just repeating the cycle of pain that your father started, that you are used to and expect anyways.

I've been the other woman. 2 whole years I let it drag on. Most shameful time in my life. It had nothing to do with trying to steal someone's man I just had extremely low self esteem. I accepted scraps of affection from someone who kept me a secret because I didn't think anyone else would ever want me. I even justified it because the wife knew and still stayed. But really I hated myself, felt guilty the whole time and I'd never ever do that shit again.

As someone who does Musical Theatre, I love singing and performing. Being present with the audience and bringing joy to people is truly the best feeling. I was not a theatre kid in high school though. I started in college because I had been singing since I was a little girl. Not all theatre people are the same. Yes Shallon! It´s a built-in fail; so part of that is also a deep fear of intimacy/commitment on behalf of the mistress. It´s an extension of always falling for the unavailable person; and often comes from childhood attachment issues. For some people, having ´half relationships´ feel safer than going all-in. Being a mistress is a half relationship. You have (some) companionship, intimacy, company... but you also have one foot out. I´ve never been a mistress but I do have fear of commitment and I can understand their motivation in that way. I see a similar dynamic with ´polyamourous/open relationships´. They´re half relationships. For serial mistresses though like Ariana; I also see the toxicity and borderline sociopathic behaviour. I think she likes hurting the ´other woman´ and feeling superior.
One of my favorite people the expert on Narcissim Dr. Ramani called out this relationship and this guy. I was like WHOA. She pointed out how he left his relationship as being a hallmark of narcissim. She didn't "name" them, but it was literally their story. Victims are the people they pulled the rugs out from under and blindsided especially that child that got abandoned.
I escaped a horrific traumatic nonconsensual relationship that a guy I worked with groomed me into over 6 months. Next sentence was, “remember, it’s all about me.” He made me repeat that back to him. It’s amazing that in the moment I couldn’t see the GLARING RED FLAGS he was throwing at me, but I was super nervous and I had never encountered someone saying such things before. My favorite advice from dr Ramani - when you meet someone and they compliment you more than once, they want something from you, and you should run away. So far, that advice has helped me steer clear of any more narcs.

I think she explained Ariana -type 'mistresses' that by putting herself as 'the mistress' ( it also helps coz she was actually used to behave like that in real life). Oh my God! I literally spit out my coffee when you were talking about theater people!!! I am a theater nerd all the way :) We sometimes DO walk around the house singing, and in the car, and with our friends. I feel free and happy when I sing, I love being on stage and getting a buzz from the energy of the audience and the heat of the spotlight. It is very empowering! But, I must say that while I didn't belong to any one group of kids in high school, I weaved throughout all the groups. I hit my stride in college, was artsy fartsy, but also a sorority girl who moved on to owning a small boutique advertising agency, which was very successful. So, I've kind of done a bit of everything. Okay, way too. much information ... Bottom line, we are not all losers ... AND ... don't forget ... Arianna has a strong theater background. She was a theater nerd growing up. So, they probably do sing while making their waffles for breakfast!

You sound like a very selfish person. You literally just said you would do it again but then said you regret doing the bad things, make it make sense… your own depression doesn’t give you the right to go out and hurt others just so that you can “feel alive”. I never was a relationship person and never understood the people that jump from one relationship to the other. Mostly HOW if we single people can't find someone to date. The answer was shocking to me, they meet their next partner when they are still in a relationship. And they start with the flirting and getting to know the person while they're still with someone else. Life is messy, definitely but this is super common.

I became good friends with a woman when I moved into an apartment complex 5 years ago. While I do think being a mistress to a married man is shitty, it’s incredibly wrong to infantilize grown men by acting as if married men are magically taken away by other women. Nomi showed the keys to her new apartment in August 2016, which is exactly when the first photos of Mac and Ari together were taken. So i guess they still lived together up to this point. If you were a fan of Mac back then, and followed his and Nomi's Insta account, you could see what was going on there. not to mention that she wrote about the whole situation on her blog, only in a more sublime way - without names and fueling rumors. but yeah, it was definitely a shitty action and you could see her suffering. However, she remained very classy throughout the whole situation.

My sisters “best friend” is a chronic man steeler/attention vacuum. She’s nice enough but the thing I can’t overlook is her desperation for mens attention, and the backstabbing of friends she’ll do to get it. She even tried to flirt with my boyfriend a bit once and he was not having it lol (good boy 😂). Every time my sister expresses she has a crush on a guy, her friend talks him down and acts like he’s not good enough for my sister, but then will turn right around and persue him herself! She even bragged to my sister that one of my sister’s exes propositioned her for sex and basically acted like she was “suchhh a good friend” for refusing…but she was purposefully rubbing it in my sisters face that he had tried to hook up with her to make her feel bad. I keep telling my sister: girl, that is NOT your friend, that’s your competition. But my sister is very naïve in some ways and forgiving.
Anyways, my theory is these girls have abandonment issues relating to their fathers, so nothing gives them a greater thrill than winning the attention of men- even better if it’s stolen from an already taken one. (My sisters friend has serious trauma from her dad) And as you said, it’s a catch 22 getting into relationships with a taken man, if it works, he CHOSE you, you are *worthyy*, if it doesn’t work, it’s just repeating the cycle of pain that your father started, that you are used to and expect anyways.

I've been the other woman. 2 whole years I let it drag on. Most shameful time in my life. It had nothing to do with trying to steal someone's man I just had extremely low self esteem. But really I hated myself, felt guilty the whole time and I'd never ever do that shit again.

As someone who does Musical Theatre, I love singing and performing. Being present with the audience and bringing joy to people is truly the best feeling. Yes Shallon! It´s a built-in fail; so part of that is also a deep fear of intimacy/commitment on behalf of the mistress. It´s an extension of always falling for the unavailable person; and often comes from childhood attachment issues. For some people, having ´half relationships´ feel safer than going all-in. Being a mistress is a half relationship. You have (some) companionship, intimacy, company... but you also have one foot out. I´ve never been a mistress but I do have fear of commitment and I can understand their motivation in that way. I see a similar dynamic with ´polyamourous/open relationships´. They´re half relationships. For serial mistresses though like Ariana; I also see the toxicity and borderline sociopathic behaviour. I think she likes hurting the ´other woman´ and feeling superior.

I am a theater nerd all the way :) We sometimes DO walk around the house singing, and in the car, and with our friends. I feel free and happy when I sing, I love being on stage and getting a buzz from the energy of the audience and the heat of the spotlight. It is very empowering! But, I must say that while I didn't belong to any one group of kids in high school, I weaved throughout all the groups. I hit my stride in college, was artsy fartsy, but also a sorority girl who moved on to owning a small boutique advertising agency, which was very successful. So, I've kind of done a bit of everything. Okay, way too. much information ... Bottom line, we are not all losers ... AND ... don't forget ... Arianna has a strong theater background. She was a theater nerd growing up. So, they probably do sing while making their waffles for breakfast!

I never was a relationship person and never understood the people that jump from one relationship to the other. Mostly HOW if we single people can't find someone to date. The answer was shocking to me, they meet their next partner when they are still in a relationship. I've never cheated with a guy that has a gf/ married or anything like that at all. Idk to me its a major turn off that he's even trying me knowing he has a girlfriend. It's disrespectful to me. I'm such a wicked stan, I've seen the Broadway musical 3 times and been behind the scenes twice. I already had my doubts when the casting was listed, but to know that now the debut of the movie will be marred by this scandal and all everyone will be talking about is "THAT is who you left your spouse for?"
