- Changing the battery for my Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series was surprisingly easy. I used a screwdriver set that I bought at Dollar General for the installation and it went great. I honestly don't recommend this computer to anyone, it has a bunch of features that might catch your eyes but I haven't really had a good experience with it. I

I bought the Dell Inspiron 7000. After several years my power cord needed replacing and then soon after the battery went dead and never had that happened in the Asus and HP. I never used the battery much and it seemed defective from the beginning, it would drain quickly. I replaced the battery and then I had several failed attempts to get it started. I discovered it needed to charge overnight, so add that tip to the story.
The video is a little slow with taking off each of the screws (you could clip some of the video to shorten the time it takes to unscrew 12+4 screws); but on the more positive side, this video has been overall helpful for a novice computer dude like myself.
Plus changing out the battery (myself taking more time to find a small screwdriver than it takes to unscrew all the screws) cost a lot cheaper than paying a best buy employee to charge me $200 to do the exact same thing.
I also had similar experience. It looks nice but after 1 year it started running terrible. My hard drive failed, battery failed, and the screen began to separate from the hinges. Luckily dell was able to replace it in warranty but I do not think you will survive 3 years with this laptop without a significant issue. Out of warranty screen fix, battery replace, and hard drive replace without doing yourself saving labor is literally the cost of the computer.
Did you mail it to Dell? I get total garbage every time I call up their customer service. I'm done with them after this laptop.
@@myhonestreview4317 yes I did mail to dell. The entire turn around was about 1 week to send and get back. I think it honestly depends on who the agent is but I had the most expensive warranty plan which could have made a difference
I got mine during 2019. It worked out fine until 2022 when the hinges got hardened and split my screen with the cover. Had it fixed personally. And now the battery is dying.
