I recently bought this laptop and then returned it 3 days later. The trackpad is no where near as good as the MacBook trackpads I've been used to. The display is very yellowish and calibration didn't help. The fan is very loud and the speakers aren't the best. Also, the touchscreen often mistakes scrolling as double tapping to zoom. However, I did like the keyboard, the 360 degree hinge, and the fact the hard drive is easily upgradable after removing a few screws.
The way the Touchpad of Inspiron works as good as those of the MacBook? Here in Brazil it is already available, and I have a Mac Air 11 inch, Apple things cost very expensive here, and if I would have enough money to buy one, so I don't want to trade for an inferior product, what do you think?
I just bought almost this exact laptop, except mine will be the 1tb with the i7. After watching your review, I'm so excited for it to get here. You covered pretty much everything I was curious about, except the WiFi connection, which as an unboxing you probably didn't have a lot of time to test. Would you mind telling me if you've had any issues with connection? Also, do you know if it has a slot for an extra HD?

Great video! When you transform it into a tablet or prop it up, do you ever fear wear on the computer? Like specifically when you put it onto a table top etc. How about the hinges? Do they even create cases for these models? Thanks!

+enrico bertolini Pretty good for a laptop. Haven't had a chance to do a decibel test. It's much louder than the speakers in my Asus monitor.

Just got this today. I'm probably never going to use the tablet mode.... but the "kitchen" mode might be good in front of a midi keyboard. I couldn't find a SSD option in store... seems odd something like this that is going to be moved around as a tablet wouldn't have a shock resistant SSD...
just purchased this off dell. mine doesnt have the i5 processor but thats okay it was $100 less than what you specified in the video. i have a desktop for power. this is just for portability. the tent and tablet functionality looks amazing i cant wait til it arrives!

From your review it appeared that the screen reflects a lot of light. Is that the case? I intend to do some work outside of the house with it, so it's really important to know that I'll be able to clearly see the image on the screen.

What's your opinion on the keyboard. Is it too small? How does it feel? What about the display. Is it adequate for some moderate-heavy photoshop usage? Have you had any WIFI issues like others report? Is the fan noisy?

bought this laptop a week ago. noticed that white lights on the edge and it's very annoying. try to set full black background and you will see it. also if you tap the edge of back of the screen wierd lines popping up.

Hi there, I was thinking of getting this laptop with the same specs, but with a 1tb hdd for my parents as a gift. I was wondering if you can give me your input on the following:
Screen, how is it when it comes to watching stuff on netflix, and reading articles?
Speakers, good or bad?
performance, how fast is it, when it comes to medicore task like browsing, and word processing.
also have you tried swamping out the original hard drive with a ssd? I asked dell, but I have a feeling their bsing me.

+Thomas Baggot I personally would swap out the HDD for an SSD--- 5400 RPM was just too slow for me. There's a night a day difference. I swapped it out on this same laptop, just not the 2-in1 version in this video: ruclips.net/video/Y1Llud1p5SY/видео.html you can see the boot/load time comparisons. The screen is great for watching stuff on netflix, great colors to it --- I must say it is glossy (as most laptop displays are) if the sun is directly behind you. It doesn't bother most people, I'm mildly obsessive compulsive so even my desktop monitor is matte. Speakers are pretty good considering it's a laptop, you can watch movies, play games, and I doubt you will be worrying about having higher volume unless you are sitting far away.

This week bought this 2-1 Dell Laptop/Tablet with Windows 10 and checking it up I noticed that the screen is not rotating. So disappointing.... :(
Is this fixable thru setting or is better to send the tablet back to DELL and buy something else?

is it a better choice than the one you use to have? i know it flips, but in real use, is it worth it over the normal version with i7? I wanted to get this one, but since the non flip version has a lower price i could also afford an ssd. what would you recommend? this one or the normal version with ssd and i7 but regular laptop mode?
Raul Yoris I'd recommend the one with an i7 and an SSD --- overall a better use of money (in my opinion) than the flip feature. The SSD made it a completely different laptop (in a good way).

I would try to get something with a GTX 960M or better so you can play Witcher 3 and other demanding games with decent settings/fps.
