Thanks for posting this. Someone apparently was in there before. In addition to the missing top right hinge screws, there are two lower hinge screws missing on the right and three missing on the lower left.
The main problem with these inspiron 15 7000 laptops is that the hinge pins are too tight and seize up and end up breaking the plastic mounting plate. The hinge pins need to be loosened slightly and lubricated or they will also break the replacement plate. When my wife's laptop hinge seized and broke the mounting plate, instead of replacing the whole top cover, I drilled two small holes lined up with the upper hinge screw holes, through the cover just below the glass, and fastened the hinge with two small machine screws and nuts which were tightened with some blue loctite. The machine screw heads need to be VERY thin. I ground them down as flat as I could and also shortened the shafts. They stick out the back a little but I did not need to remove the glass and risk breaking it or the antenna wires, although heating the glue with a hair dryer or heat gun would have helped. You just need to be careful not to leave any metal shavings after drilling. Here is a link to a RUclips video that explains what I did:
    ruclips.net/video/5gmUwq9H9-A/видео.html
It doesn't look great but it works very well and it's very sturdy. The top opens easier now and it will never break again!

Your video was the perfect combo of thoroughly detailed yet simple enough for a novice to follow along.
BIG TIME RECOMMEND TO THE FOOLEST OF FOOLS. E.g I stupidly forgot to plug in one of the display cables, and Mr. Michael is so thorough, I was able to find someone who commented an issue about getting a black screen, to which he replied that it would be due to the cables. Sure enough I popped the back out, plugged it in correctly, and Wah-lah! my laptop was back on! What would've been a $175 repair by Geek Squad, was a $ 34 home fix !!

Great video! Many thanks! My laptop is the non-touch screen version. The attachment on the left hitch suddenly broke. I noticed that the hitches were too stiff and that could be the reason why the attachments give up and break with time. Instead of buying a new back cover, I used Gorilla Epoxy to attach the hitches back on the back cover. I also loosened the hitches a bit.

10/19/19 I just replaced hinges on a 15-7000 2 in 1 from 2019, the bottom edge of screen has a strip that pulls up with 2 screws that hold down the screen. The screen is held down by 3M COMMAND style tack strips, the pull tab sticks out and covers the center henge screws. You just carefully pull that tab on each side to release he screen adhesive a little heat and alcohol never hurts. the screen is pretty flexible but be careful... If you lift up from the bottom it has hinge like tabs along the top edge.

So I have a small IT shop as well. A client brought one of these in and I went through the repair. I took the laptop apart, ordered a new lid and screws that were missing, waited for the parts to come in and put the new top cover on. I got everything back together and put it into tablet mode and it broke again IMMEDIATELY. I called Dell since the laptop was not cheap and they refused to do anything. Having put out money for parts, now I'm up shit creek. Total nightmare scenario. Unfortunately, I thought that just the plastic pieces had failed so I didn't get new hinges. It's the hinges that are the problem, or at least a big part of the problem. For whatever reason they tighten up over time. It was at this point I decided to take the hinges apart. There's a tiny screw on the end in the middle of the hinge...it's a tiny Phillips. Once you remove that you can slide the hinge cover off. Now you can see two nuts that control the hinge tightness. These are kept from falling out by a piece of metal held on with two C clips. You don't need to take the C clips off. Just loosen the nuts till they're tight against the metal held on by the C clips. This along with putting a couple drops of new motor oil in the gears loosens up the hinge dramatically. If you don't buy brand new hinges, or loosen up the old ones, you'll have the same problem right away. I'm going to Autozone tomorrow to get some epoxy to attach the threaded inserts that came out of the top cover. As loose as the hinges are now, hopefully the epoxy will work.

So the exact same thing happened to my Dell. Apparently the glue was old enough on mine that the screen and lid just popped apart. My solution, after seeing what was involved in replacing the lid, was to buy longer hinge screws, drilling holes through the lid, and putting nuts and washers on the outside of the case. I tried JB Weld to try to glue the inserts back into the frame but that didn't work. The new fix is much stronger than the original design, but I can no longer fold the screen around and utilize the 2:1 tablet feature. I never used my laptop as a tablet anyway , so it's okay that I can't now. About 4 months after I did the first hinge, the second hinge broke. I already had the parts, so now I have six nuts and washers displayed on the top of the lid. I ended up having to order the screws from Taiwan as no one had tiny screws with heads flat enough to fit inside the hinge. When this first happened I read around the web and found that other people had the same issue. It is a design flaw as the inserts are very small and mounted in plastic.

I just did the exact repair. Only removed the screen and hinge screws on the lid to do it easily. However the screen will blank out at full tablet fold over position. Cuts out about 1/2" before complete fold over, and comes back on when lifted. Not a wire issue, there is some kind of sensor for screen/lid position and I cannot find it.

The REAL cause of the hinge issue is inside the hinge itself. I just completed the lid replacement, but the hinges were so stiff, I could tell it would over-stress and cause breakage issues again.
My son found a comment somewhere on line stating there was a design flaw in the hinge (posted as if it is an intentional "planned obsolescence" design conspiracy to sell more computers). Basically every time the hinge operates, a nut in the hinge assembly tightens slightly on a tension spring. With use it eventually tightens so much that it either locks up ot breaks case or screen as too much force is used to open.
I unscrewed & pulled off the oval sleeves ( note orientation of inner tab theas keeps cables properly positioned. I removed 2 tiny retaining rings and the oval end piece, then used a micro open end wrench to loosen the nut until the hinge moved comfortably.
Also took a few minutes to remove excess grit and clean the gears in the hinge assembly with an old toothbrush and added a tiny drop of silicone lubricant, fleng the hinge to distribute evenly and blotting any excess with paper towel.
Putting the metal oval sleeve back on took a bit of maneuvering to properly re-seat all the way in order to template inner screw that keeps assembly together.
A mini vice would have been helpful to apply even pressure.
Fairly easy solution instead of buying new hinge set at $30-$50. Hardest part was finding a small enough open end wrench in my husband's tools. (Smaller than 1/4", probably metric...I used an antique custom machined by my late father-in-law. )
    Thanks for the instructions!

As well as round, the screen the sticky stuff gets onto the base of the laptop where I rest my hands to type. It is hard to clean off and I am worried it may be toxic.
Is this a common fault or is it a sign of a defect in the design and manufacture?
