I am the same way. Always wanted to skateboard, never could handle the slams. Spent countless hours playing Skate 3 and listening to audiobooks back in the day. Really wanted something to scratch that itch and I’m glad I grabbed Session instead of Skater XL. Already have over a 100 hours on it and it’s my comfort game. Got a ton of games on my Steam Deck but I always gravitate to booting up Session and cruising around hitting random spots until something grabs my attention and I drop my marker and practice that line over and over.
how can you spend countless hours practicing in a game but you can’t in real life? i mean in games whenever you die you clearly don’t ragequit you have 100s of hours in. why did you quit in real life? you don’t seem lazy is what i’m saying. was the pain really that much? it’s not like it’s unbearable unless your skating on glass i mean how bad is falling onto concrete did you go to the playground as a child
@@fuchsia4326 my experience with skateboarding is actually similar to this guys, and for me it just was not something in my physical wheelhouse. I’m tall with long ass legs and giant feet so balance was always a major issue. Also I just wasn’t coordinated enough with my feet to make meaningful progress. I started in middle school and spent almost a year trying to Ollie with no success, just couldn’t make it work. Eventually I got seriously into basketball and didn’t feel like risking injury anymore. I still skated as transportation and to cruise around through high school, still appreciated and enjoyed skate culture, but I gave up on ever doing tricks.
@@amolveira ah i know what you mean man. respect to your preferences, but imagine someone short with tiny hands saying they gave up on basketball after a year because they think they were just physically incapable. enough time and they could probably lay up right? and skating is like basketball but you can choose the ball and the court and the net! proper guiding and board (and mindset) i reckon you could learn something. i’m 6 ft, size 13+ shoes, in middle school i also rode around for over a year unable to wrap my head around an ollie. years later it’s looking much better.
@@amolveira Were you practicing alone? Did you go to skateparks with other people around? I caught on to almost everything athletic and yet it took me over a year to be able to kickflip, maybe closer to 2 years. Once I learned them I got much more into skateboarding, but learning the first few tricks isn't easy, no matter how coordinated you are. I've done dirt BMX, unicycling, juggling, snowskating, snowboarding, etc but skateboarding is definitely the toughest to catch onto. Skating is a thing that anyone can get better at if they try in my opinion. We all have a different 'ceiling' of ability, but I'd imagine most people can learn to ollie and 180 if they're determined. The thing is, is getting started is incredibly hard and I watched COUNTLESS people, athletic or not, give up relatively quickly because they don't want to put in the effort without seeing progress for a while.
I'm glad people who haven't heard of it yet get to now. I've been playing since early access 2019 and been the only game I've played since sep 22 when it full released. But honestly it replaced skater XL like year ago. I play skater XL every two months
Ngl , sessions sucks at first because it’s a bit complicated to learn but once you can figure it out , makes it feel so good to land a kick flip back tail pop shuv out , feels incredible
8:25 You said you retired because you didn’t want to get hurt. I felt that! I loved skating, but the thought of getting hurt over time faded my love for skating away.
Just discovered you, probably because I finally bought this game and 1. Subscribed, love it 2. Yah I've been playing for 4 hours so far, and I'm still trying to learn how to manual. I think it's like the 3rd mission. And even though I've lost more skin than I have landed tricks, I'm definitely having more fun than I ever have in a skating game.
I’ve played Skater XL on console consistently since it came out and it never really got better than it’s buggy launch. Sure getting the “mod” browser was cool, but even that dried up after about a month. I finally got to play Session once it arrived for PS5 and it’s honestly my favorite skate game since Skate 2.
@@TellyJackson I thought that watching clips before playing, but it’s honestly not noticeable playing it, especially when you really nail the trick you’ve been trying for 30 mins. I actually found SXL to be more buggy, at least on consoles
@@Blatantblatheist ok I'll give it a shot. Skater XL is just so smooth man even on console. Check my vids I play on ps4 and have really learned how to get nice animations.
@@TellyJackson I’ll definitely admit the XL has some of the most smooth animations I’ve seen, but after all this time, not even being able to adjust that damn moon gravity on console is insane. I think you’re gonna enjoy Session
I've been champion Session this whole time while people were swearing by skater XL. Good to see that others are FINALLY experiencing what I've been saying. It's fucking badass and closest to real life skating. Got into so many arguments on FB cause people don't like to hear they hate on a game cause they suck at the game. Just practice and it gets better. Trust the plus
Hey, king... You dropped this 👑 Loved the video. Had no idea this game even existed. Your editing style is fucking fantastic and the comedic timings are on point. Never stop cause these vids get me through xD Interested to see how big of a mistake Skate (why can't they just call it 4???) will be lol
my understanding was that they didn't call it skate 4 because they weren't necessarily making a sequel to the previous games. they're making a completely new experience while using the formula they had from the old games and revising it.
I’ve been skating for 40 years now and I have to say, your video is amazing, commentary is hilarious, and you don’t hold back! I look forward to more content! Liked and subscribed! 👍🏽🔥

you popped up on my front page and funnily enough i only grabbed this last night. watching your video has put every thought i've had playing it. great video man, you've earned a sub :)
Session is darn close to being the skateboarding sim I imagined not long after THPS 2 first inspired me to step on a board for real. There are obvious and large omissions; no freestyle and no vert; but it does what it does very well. It’s 100 percent a game of skill, which is a rare thing in the days of grinding hours and hours for unlocks and loot. It’s just you, your board, and the city. I love that you can completely ignore the story and challenges, because honestly that is the weakest part of the game. But just rolling around the city, discovering new spots and trying new tricks on them is something I can do for hours and hours.
You have Anti Caspers and Primo and if you turn on 'Lip Tricks' in the experimental menu, you can do vert tricks. Just need grabs and maybe front/back flips
@@fr4ctl_ No you can't lol show me someone do a frontside air or backside flip to noseblunt. You can admit that this game heavily lacks in certain areas and still enjoy playing it you know, right? The fanboys are insufferable, be objective dude. It's a flawed game that does a few things really well.
Found your channel through this video popping up. Now dying laughing at your other ones. You’re a cross between a RUclipsr and a stand up comedian. Genius.
It always makes me happy to see a small channel with a lot of potential. This is one of them. In another way it makes me sad because I feel like this channel doesn’t have any of the views it deserves.
i absolutely hated Session the first few times i played it. i was deep in the skater XL rabbit hole at the time, and i still prefer modded SXL to session mostly because modded SXL still feels smoother and controls better, but Session has come unbelievably far since it first launched in early access. and due to the fact that the SXL devs seem to have abandoned it, i'll probably be moving on over to session full time. i just hope someone makes a mod for session that changes its switch/fakie controls to match SXL's controls. also i really hate session's manny reverts. like a lot. it makes no sense at all. if i'm doing a manual and i revert, i'm not suddenly putting my weight on my other foot, so why do i have to start using my other stick to nose manny after a revert? its the same foot i'm balancing on, why do the sticks have to change? its just bizarre. same with switch/fakie. the controls for SXL make way more sense in this regard. if i ride regular, but am currently rolling goofy and i pull down on the right thumbstick to set up a trick, it makes more sense for that to be a fakie ollie than a switch ollie if pulling down on the right stick is supposed to be me setting up my right foot. but in session, that is a switch ollie. a fakie kickflip in SXL controls is a switch heelflip in Session. i don't like it at all. its just a really weird quirk of session's controls that deeply irritates me. it could be that maybe i just prefer SXL's controls because that's how i learned left stick right stick skate game controls so its hard for me to unlearn that to get good at session, but i also just think its far more intuitive and accurate to do it the way SXL does. i will say however that session's replay editor blows SXL's out of the water. its incredible to me that easy day hasn't bothered to update the replay editor at all since it was added, and it getting added was literally just the devs integrating SXL's most popular mod at the time into the base game. easy day is an absolutely idiotically run company. all this said, i'm extremely disabled and have always had a deep love for skateboarding ever since i was like 8 and i played the first tony hawk game but could never actually skate myself, so the fact that i now have two very good skateboarding simulators is like a dream come true for me.
jakey outro cought me off guard, this is the first video of yours i watched and throughout it i thought "this reminds me of jakey in the best way possible"

I waited for session to come out ever since I played it on the free trial. It’s definitely worth playing, I’ve completed the story and I can confirm that listening to music and just chilling, finding different spots is so stress-relieving. Also, the feeling of landing a pretty challenging trick is so rewarding!
My son just turned 6 years old in July and today he got his first loose tooth. 3 years ago I pirated a copy of Skater XL. This was the first game the little guy ever played. He played it for a couple years and enjoyed it. A few nights ago I drank a few beers and I thouight man you remember how I pirated that game and the lil guy loved it? Man I should suppor them and buy it. Surely by now they have added a ton! Paid for the game and its about the same as it was YEARS ago! My little dude it hype but he doesn't even know next weekend he's about to take it to the next level with Session because I'm on to the next one! Thanks for the video!
Session has come so far I remember seeing RUclipsrs do really early access and then it not being talked about for ages to then early this year it starting to pop up again so naturally I bought the early access and it was the best decision ever this game has brought me so much joy I will forever recommend this game to anyone

Algorithm did everyone a favor today. Just subbed and hit the bell! Happy to see you get the blessing of the brutal algorithm it’s absolutely deserved. You are funny af and editing here is a masterclass. ps I KNEW YOU WERE A NAKEYJAKEY FAN FROM WATCHING AND THEN YOU PLAYED TOMMY HANKS AT THE END WHILE I WAS TYPING THIS
As a 3D artist I can tell you that if you just put a hat over the geometry of hair (which is usually one sided planes with decals) you get weird clipping of the hair trough the hat. Other way that looks much nicer is to model the hairstyle by hand with the hat, which means, every single hat, with every single hairstyle must be recreated to fit. Since the game doens't even have a story, and even tho it looks good, pretty basic enviorment modeling, I am sure they didn't want to spend their resources there :) -To add, I LOVE SESSION, it is all you said, a perfect realistic skateboarding simulator thats insanely rewarding when you learn, it flows, it slaps, it tre flips, u create ur own spotify skate rap playlist and you are GOOD! (pharcyde, blackstarr, and thps soundtracks to give idea). Cinematic editor is crazy also. The only downside and its really a big one is, NO MULTIPLAYER.... I ended up playing a lot of Riders Republic with my friend, just because we couldn't shred together in Session, they need to add that!
Yo your crack up! As in funny as fook! Also I thought session was tttrash but you've convinced me that I'm the one who's rubbish not the game. So thanks for that.
I have 200 hours in this game and TONS of videos. Tons of people are talking about this game and have been. Theres a huge community. Dude has been living under a rock.
Totally agree with all the sentiment - the "when it clicks" feeling is what makes skating in real life so satisfying. I did debate whether to turn on the manual catch setting, but honestly, I don't think it's something anyone actually actively does in real life - the catch comes, for me at least, because I've popped and flicked the kickflip or whatever correctly. So for that reason I left it off. Definitely for realism and not because I don't want to make the game any harder, hah!
Just realized I never commented on the actual video, my bad! This seems like the kind of game I'll never have the patience to become even mediocre at but it did reignite my passion for Skate 3! As well as reveal that they're going ahead with..."Skate."? Leave it to EA to just reuse the franchise name again 😂 great video, subscribed and waiting for more, mate 🍻
Session is dope af, I like doing the historic challenges the most, currently still trying to do that front blunt on the hubba hideout Brian Anderson did in his Toy Machine part
i randomly bought this game and your video is so accurate and i absolutely agree and i love this game man, i personally dont shred that much but i used to skate too but its not popular in my country. But this game makes me feel like I'm really skating digitally and close to reality if that makes sense lmao. Glad this ended up getting in my recommended, didn't even know about this game and your video style is really good! Got a sub and I'll be looking into buying Session at one point or another
I hope you enjoy it 👍
i’ve been saying this game is slept on for a while, i never got into the skate games before session so i picked up the controls pretty quick and fell in love, as far as controls and gameplay feel it’s really great
this game should be kept underground it’s too good for mainstream
I haven’t played Session but I admire the ambition that they’ve put into the game. I love the idea that you have to learn to skate like irl.
The editing and flow of this was just a pleasure to watch. Definitely subbed
The amount of times I've tripped over curbs in this game is more than I've tripped over irl
Great video dude. Clearly inspired by NakeyJakey, but not saying it as a bad thing, your comedic style works well for it. Look forward to seeing what else you make bro
That was my first thought too, its great
NakeyJakey vibes all over the place and still managed to deliver a unique and well thought out point of view. Amazing video.
Amazing video and great production quality. We need more eyes on Session. Greatest skating game ever!
I especially like when the sk8er boo jumps up and down.
Watching your video I was like this guy definitely a Jakey fan, then the Tommy Hanks Outro confirmed it lol great video, Subbed
Appreciate it 🫡
closing the video with a nakeyjakey song is such a colossal W i have no choice but to subscribe
this video is legit of the quality of a youtuber with millions man
you're gonna go far
10/10 vid
Thank you 🙏 cheers for watching
The quality and editing of this video is pristine
Great video!
The audio is a bit quiet or very loud at some points, i really appreciate you talking about this game anyhow ;)
Stop being a pussy , I started at 22 year old and handled all the Slams
Damn I can't believe you only have 5k subs. You're a natural! Look forward to more videos :)
I'm glad people who haven't heard of it yet get to now. I've been playing since early access 2019 and been the only game I've played since sep 22 when it full released. But honestly it replaced skater XL like year ago. I play skater XL every two months
I have played something like 300 hs of Session and I love seeing new people finding the beauty of it. Cheers.
Ngl , sessions sucks at first because it’s a bit complicated to learn but once you can figure it out , makes it feel so good to land a kick flip back tail pop shuv out , feels incredible
Worth it definitely 💯
welcome to actually having to try lmao
First week was a war not to ride into everything
Now it's the most rewarding game in my opinion
@@olgog7927 100%%% , it feels so good landing tricks .
8:25 You said you retired because you didn’t want to get hurt. I felt that! I loved skating, but the thought of getting hurt over time faded my love for skating away.
The replay editor is also incredible in this game, and also hard to learn but deeply satisfying when you get it, in session fashion!
this is a good video, good editing and good format all round, subbed dude
Just discovered you, probably because I finally bought this game and
1. Subscribed, love it
2. Yah I've been playing for 4 hours so far, and I'm still trying to learn how to manual. I think it's like the 3rd mission. And even though I've lost more skin than I have landed tricks, I'm definitely having more fun than I ever have in a skating game.
See in another 4 hours you’ll look back and think damn I’m so sick now 💪
Heavens, this is a well made video.
Didn't even realise it was over till it was over. Great editing and narration.
I feel like this man should sit on a silver yoga ball. Also Session is dope and well worth a buy for any skateboarding/video game enthusiast.
Damn this is a real fun video style dude. Great work here.
How do you feel about the animations? The landing animations always looked kind of cheesey to me.
@@Blatantblatheist XL is just gonna lose me and others cause of the lack of content. Session is killing XL console by a landmile with that
@@TellyJackson I’ll definitely admit the XL has some of the most smooth animations I’ve seen, but after all this time, not even being able to adjust that damn moon gravity on console is insane.
You dropped this
👑
Loved the video. Had no idea this game even existed. Your editing style is fucking fantastic and the comedic timings are on point. Never stop cause these vids get me through xD Interested to see how big of a mistake Skate (why can't they just call it 4???) will be lol
No king that’s yours! Cheers mat! Yea let’s hope the don’t fumble it x
my understanding was that they didn't call it skate 4 because they weren't necessarily making a sequel to the previous games. they're making a completely new experience while using the formula they had from the old games and revising it.
I’ve been skating for 40 years now and I have to say, your video is amazing, commentary is hilarious, and you don’t hold back! I look forward to more content! Liked and subscribed! 👍🏽🔥
I felt that hat agruement my man.
Really love the editing style! haha awesome video. :)
Cheers ✌️
I subscribed and liked just because you didn’t even mention for us to do so! Great video! Hovering over the uninstall quote nearly had me pissing my pants
Session is slept on
Always wear a cup when you sk8. For your health!
you popped up on my front page and funnily enough i only grabbed this last night. watching your video has put every thought i've had playing it. great video man, you've earned a sub :)
It’s very much appreciated
@@173jaSon371 You used to be able to man. Trust.
Found your channel through this video popping up. Now dying laughing at your other ones. You’re a cross between a RUclipsr and a stand up comedian. Genius.
Appreciate it🙏
this is dope!!
No. You’re dope x
I appreciate you 🙌
I knew this guy reminded me of Jakey, then the outro played and I knew I was right 😂
I’m so glad I found your RUclips account. This is the best edited and funniest video I’ve watched. So stoked that you skate & your video style is something I’m so jealous of… wish I could pay you to edit my videos 😂
I appreciate that man 👍thanks for watching
I enjoy skater xl more because it’s harder to make look good, but when it does look good it looks amazingly good.
I waited for session to come out ever since I played it on the free trial. It’s definitely worth playing, I’ve completed the story and I can confirm that listening to music and just chilling, finding different spots is so stress-relieving. Also, the feeling of landing a pretty challenging trick is so rewarding!
Session is stunning. Took literally like 24 hours to understand the controls. Totally worth it. I am never finna skateboard in my life again.
Well done video, earned a subscriber! First video I've seen from you. Excited to see more in the future!
👋👋
So addictive. All it needs is online right now.
and a park editor
Thanks for the video!
loved this vid! getting some serious jakey vibes but in the best way possible 🙏 taking a similar style but putting your own twis on it
just finished the vid and heard the tommy hanks. hell yeah.
just came up for the first time ever on my for you page i’ve never felt more joy in my life
Session has come so far I remember seeing RUclipsrs do really early access and then it not being talked about for ages to then early this year it starting to pop up again so naturally I bought the early access and it was the best decision ever this game has brought me so much joy I will forever recommend this game to anyone
Bro I just want to say this is a very well done video. Was chuckling whole way through
Mate love your style, keep making vids
As someone who owns skater xl - you’re absolutely correct. Great vid, I need to invest in session! Looking forward to seeing the growth of your channel bro, I’m subbed!
Welcome 👌
Been playing session since launch with over 1000 hours in, it's my favorite game
love the video. love the editing. you got a new subscriber!
Algorithm did everyone a favor today. Just subbed and hit the bell! Happy to see you get the blessing of the brutal algorithm it’s absolutely deserved. You are funny af and editing here is a masterclass.
ps I KNEW YOU WERE A NAKEYJAKEY FAN FROM WATCHING AND THEN YOU PLAYED TOMMY HANKS AT THE END WHILE I WAS TYPING THIS
Thank you for watching chief! 🙏👍
Thank you for this video, the first few hours of session are so rough and I wasn’t sure if I should go back 😭 but now I def will
Stay strong 💪
Bro you are really good! I was suprised to see you have like 3k subs you sound so experienced at this. Natural presenter
Video popped up in my feed this morning...glad I watched it haha you are hilarious man.
Subbed.
🤜💥🤛
Appreciate you🙏
underated your gonna be big one day just wait for the day to come ma boi
As a 3D artist I can tell you that if you just put a hat over the geometry of hair (which is usually one sided planes with decals) you get weird clipping of the hair trough the hat. Other way that looks much nicer is to model the hairstyle by hand with the hat, which means, every single hat, with every single hairstyle must be recreated to fit. Since the game doens't even have a story, and even tho it looks good, pretty basic enviorment modeling, I am sure they didn't want to spend their resources there :)
-To add, I LOVE SESSION, it is all you said, a perfect realistic skateboarding simulator thats insanely rewarding when you learn, it flows, it slaps, it tre flips, u create ur own spotify skate rap playlist and you are GOOD! (pharcyde, blackstarr, and thps soundtracks to give idea). Cinematic editor is crazy also. The only downside and its really a big one is, NO MULTIPLAYER.... I ended up playing a lot of Riders Republic with my friend, just because we couldn't shred together in Session, they need to add that!
cool video its surprising that you only have 5k subs. these types of youtubers are usually pretty popular.
It blows my mind that this channel only has 6k subs… he should have 600k
He should get a fucking life tbh x (thanks)
Just realized I never commented on the actual video, my bad! This seems like the kind of game I'll never have the patience to become even mediocre at but it did reignite my passion for Skate 3! As well as reveal that they're going ahead with..."Skate."? Leave it to EA to just reuse the franchise name again 😂 great video, subscribed and waiting for more, mate 🍻
Hopefully sooner than later 🤞
Session is dope af, I like doing the historic challenges the most, currently still trying to do that front blunt on the hubba hideout Brian Anderson did in his Toy Machine part
ive been playing session since it came out on console but i still watchted this whole vid, new sub man this was great
You are high quality content.🔥🔥🔥 Hopefully algorithm hits hard on this.
Algorithm is a right funny wee fucker
Been playing session for a couple years now, probably my favorite skating game of all time
Love the video, just the title kills me mannnn. Session has been super hyped and talked about. But glad people are discovering it through your vid!
So glad to see someone talking about this game
Amazing video and that's the first time seeing you. Subscribed
i randomly bought this game and your video is so accurate and i absolutely agree and i love this game man, i personally dont shred that much but i used to skate too but its not popular in my country. But this game makes me feel like I'm really skating digitally and close to reality if that makes sense lmao. Its not an easy game but when it clicks it clicks, and fun to play while getting high af and vibin to the ingame raggae music. Thats the Shit!
Hey! Nice video and nice editing! You won a subscriber, like you style similar to NakeyJakey, keep it up!
lowkey fell asleep twice watching this
Great video, this game is so slept on, it’ll take over when it gets multiplayer, it’s barely getting started
