Had a friend that died a couple years ago and I see him skating around still quite often.
As a skater, if those stone ledges were memorials to skaters i would be stoked to have skaters skate my coffin.
Tbf I think Holocaust victims would think it was rad as well to have people skate their memorial

Dude the death thing makes way too sense. Especially when most of the map is in memory to Don Hartley. At the beginning when you fly off the roof and die is kinda similar to how don Hartley died. He died from injuries due to a fall during skateboarding (I’m serious search it up). Seems like you die and go to skateboard heaven just like their friend. The whole game is in memory of him not the just map.

I don't like skating or anything but I just loved this game. The atmosphere, size of the city, characters, gameplay, and even the UI.

I thought i was going to regret watching this, but the ending really makes me appreciate Skate 3 about 10x more. It feels soo accurate just on the ambience alone. Its soo right.
Great video. Last year I celebrated the 10th anniversary in a small way by posting my best clips on Instagram. It seemed like no one was talking about it from what I could see. But by chance I noticed a few weeks ahead of time that Skate 3 was turning 10 so I got a bit excited and nostalgic. I also believe the dead skater theory. Thanks for the video.

I mean, sure every game has rushed and cut features throughout development, but my God is Skate 3 a mess. I know for some reason everyone puts this game on a massive pedestal, but if you just stop and look around and actually think about it, there is a lot of pathetic inexcusable shit in the game.

I remember as a kid when this game came out I went over to my uncles house, which was like a safe haven and always the most fun I had as a kid, he pulled this game out, brand new, goes to customize and has those damn striped socks, I tried to get them after I got the game and never could, asked em how he got em, and he never even knew how he did

Never heard the death theory before! But as soon as you said it, it resonated with me! I love the game. But it does feel a bit “dead” compared to the first two. Kind of feels empty somehow. Interesting points too. ;)

The nollie pop “trick” is just that jumping holds momentum, if you jump down a hill you’ll carry the gravity and momentum down and out of a pop so you’ll continue to stay at max speed, it’s how you win races everytime

I thought the last thing was just for fun and laughs but it just makes too much damn sense it's scary lol, you changed my whole perspective of the game
i remember hearing the death theory a few years ago and holy shit the memories but it actually makes sense when you think about it everything he mentioned makes sense but also the marker point exist as in when you mess a trick up if you want you can go back to your marker as that would be a thing that a skater would obviously like having not to mention that your skate character can fall off building and break technically an infinite amount of bones and be fine

I used to absolutely grind skate 3 when I was a little kid. Stopped playing for a long time and found this vid and I know basically nothing on here, even at the top iceberg level. Deffinitly gonna have to dust off my PS3 and try some of these things out.

@@jakubknioa1159 I think the reason it’s scary is cause you’re not scared of being alone you’re scared that you aren’t alone while playing it. I used to get kinda creeped out roaming around the maps and when the noise in the game got quieter

Videos like this are always cool to see since I I used to put so many hours and hours a day into skate 3 when I was younger. I have put well over 3k hours played in the game. It’s no contest my most played game on Xbox 360 😅. It’s without a doubt one of my favorite games of all time, and although I don’t play much anymore I still love it a lot.

I agree with the death theory! Since playing at launch I thought the game was pretty much confirming that too while still leaving it open to interpretation. The fact the city is named after the famous dead skater is the cherry on top really showing their intentions to make their last skate game stand out

I think I remember hearing way back, maybe 15 years ago about a cruise ship installing a skatepark on one of their mega-ships. Maybe that relates to the Carnival pack????
My one problem with the death theory is that it seems odd that Reda wouldn't notice the skater dying. He seemed really concerned when they get hit by a bus in the first game. I would have thought he'd be more attentive if something happened to his favorite source of footage.
Ah well. It's still a more fun explanation as to why Port Carverton felt so empty.

this video is sick, ive easily over 1k hours in this game and im still finding out new stuff about it. i got a series x in anticipation for skate 4 even though i know its a long ways off
I remember putting a marker at the top of those cranes by meticulously parkouring my way up the cliff up onto the base of the crane and just repeatedly jump up toward the top since its too steep to walk on... This makes me want to go up there again and see if I can hop off and land anywhere.
