    The Evoke 50's really are a awesome pair of speakers! I'm the happy owner of a pair in walnut finish and these things can easily be endgame material, they're that good! Have mine hooked up to a Musical Fidelty A1 class A integrated amplifier (2023 model) and it makes for a wonderful pairing. The A1 has some good grip on the bass the Evoke 50's can produce, and even with 25 watts of power it shakes the room without showing any form of restraint, the mids have a tad bit of warmth and the high frequencies sound sweet and full of detail, really an awesome pairing between those components.

    I also have them and use them with the Musical Fidelity M6Si. The signal source is a Clearaudio Concept MM V2. I don't want anything else. Not even if I had a million dollars. The Evoke 50 is not just a loudspeaker, it's a way of lifestyle. It reproduces everything precisely without being intrusive. And the bass - well - simply amazing ... 😎

    I have a smaller living room. Most people would be looking at stand mount speakers, I wound up getting a set of evoke 30s. First of all, these things look great the blond wood is a light stained real wood. The videos just don’t capture this very well. The Dynaudio Special 40 sounded great, but if you have a clean modern living room stand mounts ….well…just look clunky.
    I compared to B&W 704s, which have an upper mid boost which makes some vocals & acoustic instruments pop a little more, but also became for me more fatiguing to listen for a long time (cabinet is fake wood too). The Sonos Faber lumina 3s were better. But I think the the Evokes were definitely the best to my ear. I think they are more revealing of the original recording than the others. I agree 100% on your comments on imaging/soundstage. You can very easily distinguish between different instruments. I’m not sure the last time I bought anything I’ve wound up so happy with than these little speakers.

      JBL does slash prices often on the Stage and their cheaper Studio speakers, I was surprised with HDI line. My guess is that, because of high volume of selling speakers they can afford to do, e.g. the JBL HDI-3800 (Satin Walnut/Gray Oak) for $1250 each is on backorder until July. I own JBL Studio 530, bought on sale for $240 pair and I was shocked by speakers sound quality and how close they come to Quad ESL-63 (comparison side by side).

We choose things out of love for a certain product and who is anyone to say you spent too much..That usually comes out of jealousy btw 🙂

    Hi Jim, how is it compared to the LDA open baffle?

    • @abxaudiophiles
      @abxaudiophiles  4 месяца назад

      I’ll just say that my baffles will remain in my main system. I’ll also say, that didn’t keep me from dropping the dough and buying the Evoke. 🤣🤣🤣. But yea, they’re different animals for sure. The Evoke are a well balanced presentation that has a musicality to it all, with a refined mid and treble region. And bass that digs deep and has texture, no subs needed. The baffles are just musical magic in the realism, texture, and tone space. They give a punchy and dynamic low end with an organic and life like mid and treble presentation, but are not as “full range” as the Evoke. For me I love them both for what they do. But none the less, the baffles remain in my main system.

  • @gokhanersan8561
    @gokhanersan8561 4 месяца назад

    Evokes are darker and warm, compared to SonusFaber or Dali, making harshly recorded rock bearable. But, these Evokes are priced way above what one would pay for mid-level towers. Arendals do that for under $3000. Meanwhile, for $1500 more than Evoke50’s asking price one can buy endgame speakers like the Q-Acoustics500, that were endorsed by Ken Ishiwata and many others.

      @FPSkillerPC 4 месяца назад +1

      As a past Arendal 1723 Monitor THX owner that recently switched to the Evoke 20, I can defo say the Arendal is nothing as great as people say. Yes there's big scale and dynamics but the speakers are harsh on not great recordings and don't provide any more clarity than the Evoke 20. Even better, my Evoke 20 image better and have a deeper soundstage that goes beyond the baffle. You'll find on many reviews a lot of people have the some complaints that the soundstage is quite flat on Arendals. To my ears Evoke line sounds much more natural and play a wider range of music more gracefully. In the end its not only about pure specs and bang for buck. I owned the CSS 1TDX and found that speaker to sound small and struggle with dynamics. (everyone has preference I guess)

    • @abxaudiophiles
      @abxaudiophiles  4 месяца назад +3

      @@FPSkillerPC what I’ve experienced and heard from those who have heard both align with your assessment. Arendal is home theater at best. They’re NOT a 2 channel audiophile speaker like the Evoke.
