"CONNOR IS ON THE GROUND"
Remember how much it was emphasised that John Connor would be the saviour of humanity? He's like the equivalent of Master Chief lol.
"What are you going to do?"
"Give Skynet back its terminator."
Yeah good thing they reported the saviors position via radio...very smart indeed
@@ossef9712 Silly kid Skynet doesn't have radio. 🙂
@@Commander_Shepard. Ikr, this guy hating for the most mundane reasons, even IF Skynet could somehow listen in on them, "Connor is on the ground' is a very abstract term. It's not like it some effing coordinates jesus christ this guy's pathetic nitpicking is getting to me.
Urm, he's a subordinate who gets yelled at during this point
I find extremely coherent the fact that this happens while Skynet and humanity were still at an actual war. Humanity still had resources, like choppers and A-10 planes, and the fact that they shoot bullets shows how relatively early in the future this happens. It really seems the T-800 model changed the course of the war, seeing it as it looks like it becomes the main workhorse in Skynet's army. Little wonder the series is centered around that model.
Well this is 2019. A full decade before the bleak future war of 2029 we see in T1 and T2. So it does make sense the resistance would field remnant vehicles and weapons and possibly producing their own ammo until Skynet destroys their capacity to wage war.
@@TheFacelessStoryMaker And then in Genisys the Resistance is able to go from rags to perfect body armor and Apache gunships....but we don't talk about that right?
@@SoldierOfFate That's already when Humanity led by JC is already Winning against Skynet, so obviously they got the many of the pooled resources and technology developed by Skynet.

this rope already has a tied node on it, his buddy just attached it to somewhere
His buddy has the entire length of rope in his arms while they're running, he was tying it just in time for John to jump
Not necessarily.
I don't know any of the movies after the third movie. From what I see in such short clips I see that they suck too much to watch them and ruin my respect for three first movies.
Let's assume that this story is real, not a fictional movie.
If John haven't yet send a Terminator in the past, then he knows that's in his future. If that's in his future, then he knows that he's not gonna die any earlier.
That's how our deterministic universe works. The future is already set. I doubt if the scriptwriters had this fact on their mind in earlier movies, but if they did, then they did a good job.
@@biglightball By many people's account, T1, T2 Judgement Day and T Salvation are the last good Terminator movies.
I don't dislike T3 but Salvation ranks way higher in the tier list for me.
What I liked about this movie was that it had a decent showing of the military presence. In the previous movies we never really got to see much going on except that quick shot of Connor as a general. But here we see that the world wasn’t just burnt to a crisp and actually has some left over remnants. The Military feels like it’s a mix between original styled uniformity and some chaotic randomness. We weren’t show Connor as the general but in his beginnings.

This movie is seriously underrated In my humble opinion.
They tried to change the direction of the Terminator story.
Change? Not quite. They would just show Connor's struggles before sending Kyle Reese to the past. But time travel and parallel realities demand a level of competence pretty hard to come by. It's a surprise this movie was made at all. For the record, I think It's pretty good to. But to me, the cannon ending is in T2 directors cut.
same.
@@alexgnial1 maybe teh saga ends with no time travel cuz skynet found a paradox than no matter how many time travels will no made her win the war..
MegaSpidey 101 I bet you think it’s better when it stinks
So many things wrong with it. PG-13. The Terminator throws John Conner around like a cliche 80's bad guy. Common is wearing sun glasses at night during a night raid. Not really violent. When I watch the future scenes in T2 and even T1 they project a terrible situation. I never felt this way in this movie. I don't blame the actors though. The directing and script were awful.
Say what you will about the terminator series, I have always loved this movie. It follows all timelines established by Terminator 1-3 and doesn’t break any continuity.Terminator Salvation was a great movie that showed the future war and how kick ass John Connor is
От От тебя ничего не надо мне тут сказали в России и США в городе не з и за это как то все файлы с тобой тобой согласен с с с с с тобой согласен согласен согласен согласен согласен
It closes the cycle,fucking cool
And it was the only movie that portrays the future war in a sensible way. The previous movies showing a handful of ragtag infantry who have a few technicals and homemade explosives taking on armies of machines while otherwise barely dwelling in sewers and basements was kinda stupid. The humans still have enough remaining war machines and infrastructure to repair and maintain them that they can still wage some real war and even keep some sectors relatively machine free.
@@22steve5150 I hesitate to take a steaming dump on Cameron, but you are kinda right. It makes more sense for the Human Resistance to be in control of the remnants of the United States Armed Forces, not a Toyota Tacoma with a laser cannon on the back (which was immediately obliterated). And I liked how they even included sub-surface warfare.
They really should’ve gone in this direction leading up to sending Kyle back in time
Many of the radar dishes getting destroyed, aren't cgi, but miniatures. This movie went the extra mile, the most solid terminator sequel other than 2, in my opinion
A lot of the effects in this movie are practical, and the CGI that is used is amazing! Some scenes, I couldn't tell what was CG and what was real!
@le Hoarderz Al-Shekelsteins less CGI more animatronics
The mushroom cloud at the VLA site was CGI. Later explosions at the gas station and Terminator fuel cell factory were practical effects using miniatures and plenty of gasoline.
The napalm attack during Marcus' escape used a tanker load of diesel and lots of explosives. McG loves to blow stuff up.

Lol, and did they just walk right over it underwater for it to try and jump scare them by popping out? Those things are big, so I doubt they just walked right over it without feeling a giant bulky machine under their feet. Then they just blast it and turn around to keep walking like nothing happened.
0:29 gotta love the sound of that GAU-8 on the A10 shredding a T600 to smithereens.
Not even a T-800 could survive something like that. One of the metals that it is built with into the hyper alloy is Colton. That metal is very durable and it's very heat resistant. The 30 mm tracers fired from a GAU-8 Avenger can easily punch through the chassis of a T800 like it's paper.
Warthog #1, peak killmachine
Although that HK with the AA turrets on it was taking them down, then just vanished without a trace before Connor lands. That thing would shred those slow choppers.
Suddenly everyone loves this film now. Back then when it came out, all everyone could do was complain about it. Where was the love back then for it? Maybe if you guys had shown more love back then, you'd have had the trilogy from it you'd have wanted.

Because people didn't want to appreciate a new story, slightly changed, with more nuance and realism but nothing like T5 and 6 that just yeeted the whole continuity away.
...coz there all cunts - whinging man babies.
Kinda like how people were shit talking the Star Wars Prequels for a long time until the sequels came out. It’s all about perspective 🤷🏻
The movie still has its flaws, but it actually respects the franchise and _wants_ to be a good Terminator movie. The movies that came after it basically destroyed the lore and characters whilst insulting the audience with cringey modern politics that most people outside of Hollywood didnt want, and still dont. Hence why many are giving this movie a second chance.
I believe the main reason it got flak was that it wasn't the future war everyone wanted.
Then Genisys and Dark Fate happened....
The opening shots are so cool to me, with the pov of the missile and the camera steadily panning to show the troop landings. There's something about the smooth camera work that makes the surface scene all the more interesting.
I like the subtle invert of the classic terminator imagery of a machine ‘boot’ crushing a human skull but with the helicopter skid crushing the machine ‘skull’
This movie was so underrated, it was the last GOOD terminator movie.
Very much Indeed
Well going off that comment I believe dark fate was an amazing movie in my personal opinion
Noooo shut up you just don't like the new one because it stars women you incel you don't know nothing /s
@@VSMOKE1 Maybe you should shut up. If they wouldn't kill John Connor on the beginning, then maybe i would like it. But they killed him only to replace him with a girl that can't act for shit. For example, that line when she said: "I want to stand and fight" like really you expect me to believe that she can fight? This movie is a rehash of T1 and T2 with "GOOD" elements from other terminators. The other thing is that this movie destroyed T1 and T2, because what's the point of keeping John alive in T2 if then Generic Teenage girl can replace him.
Another thing is if the movie was good, then why they gonna lose $100.000? I know why because Tim Miller before releasing this garbage said that Grace or whatever her name was will scare the f**k out of misogynistic trolls. What normal person says something like this? main problem I had here is the rifles they are using. M4s or M16s fire rounds to small to be effective against the Machines. they should be using more powerful weapons.
Could have playet out it a bit more. Like have two T-600's or mini-ground drones giving the resistance a bit of a fight before they could release the prisoners. Even after A10 leveled the place down, wished there were some T-600 that survived to give the resistance some troubles.
Imagine if they got attacked by Hydrobots instead. Tactically, it would have made more sense for Skynet to place Hydrobots in a water trap as opposed to what looks like a modified T1.

Aged like a fine wine, I remember seeing this in theaters at 9 yrs old I still have the t shirt I bought from the theater and I have always loved this movie.
Everything about this scene is brilliant. The way it's shot, the editing, the subtle story-telling, and even world-building. Right off the bat it gives you a gritty, horrible look at the early stages of the apocalypse. And then it emphasises the importance of the protagonist; linking his experiences in the previous movies.
I never noticed until now that the new terminator in this scene is the same model that goes back in time for him. That’s why he reacted the way he did. I’ve watched this movie too many times not to have realized that lmao
For some reason this movie gets better and better over time.
I liked this movie because it showed John Conner actually leading a squad of troops and fighting. He was actually a guerrilla leader fighting an insurgency against Skynet versus a teenager figuring out which high school he wanted to go to or how to skip class to go to the Galleria to play video games.

That's because films have a planned theatrical run-time as a means of selling it and meeting mainstream standards. They don't want it to be too long like 3 hours, but they don't want it to be 1 and a half hours. Salvation has been my favorite since the first time I saw it. It's the only one I watch repeatably. I had never heard that so many people disliked it. Doesn't make any sense.
I dont get the hate for this movie, its far better than the later sequels, I liked how it was set in the machine war and following John's battle against sky net, it's really good
That was mainly because back then, the main storyline had plot holes and story points that didn't make sense, like Marcu's purpose in the movie. It was only after Genesys and Dark Fate came out, and ended up being even worse received.
For me, I liked somethings in all 3. They have their own merits as well as flaws
People didn't like it because it's still a departure from T2. People wanted the future war to be covered, but not like this. They wanted the nitty gritty slums of humanity trying to survive. This wasn't that. This was just John Conner in a bunker. They also wanted the actual full war, not some piece of it, which we got the ending of in Genisys, but Genisys was crap for its own reasons. Basically, people wanted this movie to be like the war in Genisys, except everything leading up to it, not just a few quick cutscenes of Conner defeating skynet. They wanted battle chronicles that lead up to the end of the war, and the end of the war battle. This only gave people a small taste, and lingered too much in an early timeline of the war, ending with no developments in the series nor closure, which is what people wanted after all those years.
Keep in mind, T2 came out in 1991. T3 came out in 2003. This came out in 2009. So from most peoples perspective, they were patiently waiting nearly 20 years for a satisfying conclusion to the terminator franchise. They were ready for that closure. But all they got was more of the story being dragged on and trickle fed. I mean imagine, you're waiting that long for the end to a franchise, and all you get is a "to be continued", that wasn't even picked up again for several more years. People would have rather T4 gave full closure and then if there were anymore terminator movies, they'd be completely new ones touching on other lore like the comic book time travel lore, which is what should have happened. Instead we got Jenisys and Lame Fate.
@@peoplez129 Salvation was intended to be a trilogy. Most likely the trilogy would be from the first years of the war against Skynet (Salvation), to a future war with laser weapons to resemble the war seen in T2

1:59 I LOVE the sense of continuity that T-1 provides!😁
1:10
You gotta love that Hollywood classic "Commanding Officer explaining the mission as they are already doing it"
1:13 well that level of trust right there..he doesnt even look if the rope is set up and jump
In war u have to put your trust in your teamates in doing their work, not trusting teamates may result in rlly bad consequences
After T1 and T2 T salvation is my favourite especially it's sound effects.
Am I the only one who likes this movie and think its severely underrated?
This is probably the only movie in history that is both a sequel and a prequel, not counting Genysis and Dark Fate in the series
I really love that this movie took place in the present and there was no time travel involved
They sorta did a time-travel
Marcus being reborn and that he's a person from the past. It's a nice twist on the time-travel aspects that Terminator is known for.
I like the way Connor says it’s worse, when they prove he was right about a new terminator. Skynet wasn’t supposed to develop a T-800 until way later in the timeline, but because of the movies previously, Skynet got its hands on the T-800 schematics early. Theoretically, meaning that by the time of 2029, Skynet would already have designs much, much more advanced.
The game Terminator: Resistance shows this concept well, as the the T-850/Infiltrator units didn’t get much use well until months before the war ends, in the original timeline.
He really trusted that guy who tied the rope off to not fuck around. Imagine if the rope guy had tripped up or something.
If this movie had focus on more awesome scenes like this instead of the story basically being centred around Marcus Wright, it would have been an absolutely epic Terminator movie.
The sound and visual FX were incredible. I just wish the story had focused on John and the resistance fighting in battles against the Terminators. It was way to focused on Marcus Wright. They should have just cast Sam Worthington as one of Johns resistance fighters. The story should have focused on awesome battles between the terminators and the resistance.
Well, armed forces tend to emphasize "unit cohesion" and the "battle buddy" system. You have to trust who you are with.

Thats some big trust though. Jumping down a massive shaft without knowing that the rope has actually been attached yet. Looked cool though.
Well, there were supposed to be more movies after this one. Those ones obviously would have focused on John.
@@mechanomics2649
Yeah. Its a shame they won't be making them. Doubtful we will get any Terminator movies at all after the disaster that was Dark Fate. I didn't even bother watching that one.
John knows he's untouchable, because he knows that he eventually goes on to win the war. So he knows that anything he does is something his future self already did and survived. So he just trusts his instincts. That doesn't mean he's going to go stand in front of a terminator and goad it into shooting him like he's neo from the matrix that can stop bullets. But he knows that as long as he does what he thinks is right, he will be fine and go on to defeat skynet.
i really like this movie. after 2, this is my best T movie. hands down.
와갤3dd pretty great comment. Just like what i thought. 안녕하세요^^
I love all Terminator films. They are all best in their own ways.
2:34 it’s Marcus but he’s deactivated, having crawled out after the bomb destroys the whole facility
Salvation is underrated, third best film in the series only behind the first two.
This should've been the start of a great trilogy.
This movie was great. I wish they had another one that was a sequel to it.
Ah yes one of my favorite movies in the terminator franchise
"Conner is on the ground"
Seriously? You would announce on the radio net that your world leader is on inside enemy territory?
He hasn't become the world leader before the ending. Am I right?
@@cjjmpgjjl113 Yeah this is in 2018-19 a decade before the future war we see in T1 and T2 in 2029 so yeah he didn't become a higher up until the films end. Considering he predicted the T-800s creation and the Resistance leadership on the submarine was killed it makes sense for him to lead the resistance. Buuuut Skynet knows about Connor and his destiny so it still wouldn't be wise for them to announce his arrival.
The Faceless Gamer skynet didn’t know about Connor yet
@@quartzking3997 Then why is Salvation about the prototype T-800 Marcus going after Connor?
At this point in the movie he's influential but definitely not the highest ranked in the resistance.
The only John Connor I’ve actually liked out of all these new movies.
I wish they focused more on the war throughout the whole film
0:50 let’s go let’s go..move it…and she’s the last one to move it😂
I loved this movie when it came out and still do. Sadly alot of people didn't feel that way
The way people treated Salvation reminds me of how people treated every Halo release after Reach. They hate, then when the next one comes out, they suddenly love it.
I had my own issues with Salvation, but I was certainly not on the wagon that it was 100% bad.
Fantastic movie, for me personally up there with T2
I've always loved the color palette of this film, it made the first years of the war against the machines seem much more like something that can happen in our world and for that it will always be one of the stand out films of the franchise
I liked this movie. It had its flaws but its what we wanted. The ground war between men and machine.
There is a comic series that finishes the story where Salvation left off. Its great!
