This may be one of the worst representations of combat I have ever seen. They really don't think the capital of the US is going to be this lightly defended? The real thing would look more like a high-tech version of the Battle of Berlin. An absolute shit show with Spec Ops, armor, air support, extremely accurate artillery, short and long range missiles, and there is no way two HMMWV's (humvees) are going to drive through the front gate. There would be no front gate to drive through. You don't have to be a military historian to know that this would look like hell on earth and not just organized chaos.
This was years deep into the civil war.. the current U.S. Military was a shell of its former self with the western forces overtaking it. At this point most U.S. Generals had already surrendered with only the 3rd term president and his deep loyalist remaining at the White House
The reason why DC was lightly defended was because according to the movie, most of the President's generals who understood that the war was lost and decided to order their forces to stand down, thus allowing the Western Forces and Florida Alliance to move into DC. The only forces remaining in DC were the remnant gov forces still loyal to the President.
The Loyalist Forces are clearly on their last legs by this point. Hell, the movie starts with the Western Forces being only a short way from DC. Now, Generals who have served the regime for years have thrown in the towel and probably brought with them to soldiers they command. Those who are still fighting are doing so out of loyalty or the assumption they'll be shot when trying to surrender. Plenty have probably abandoned their uniforms or fled- It's been suggested that the escape attempt of the Beast was an attempt by some individual Secret Service members to escape DC instead of some sort of distraction. The point is, the Loyalists are held together by the sheer desperation of a man who knows he's dead and simple refusal to think for themselves.

One problem I had with this is I don't think the Apache would've been able to get that low amongst close building like that. Rotorwash produces forceful airwaves which would have bounced off the building back into the rotors. Which then would have pushed the helo down onto the street.
Not to mention the multiple SAM sites around D.C.
This film was solid I don’t know why everyone’s complaining about realism it’s a fucking movie about a fictional civil war.
Most due in the movie the civil war being caused due a fool being the POTUS, so they think the movie it's a criticism to their own pet politician, that on their minds are a perfect individual... so ofc they would get mad at a movie that it's mocking their idol, at least by their own pov
As someone outside of America, I find this hilarious
It is. And some people in America think this will happen here lmao

Back to the Future Part 4 (2025)
Saying “Friendly! Friendly!” during a civil war, gotta raise the question “Are you my Friendlies ??”.
RUclips putting this into recommendation after election is crazy
Ikr, like if it’s a subliminal message that something like this might happen, I hope not 😭
This movie could’ve been such a great modern war movie and social commentary, but it ended up being a weird, abstract arthouse film.
It was obvious it was about the journalists tho 😂 people still complaining even months after its release.. loooool!
It’s an independent movie produced by a company of less than 300 people on a budget of 50 million.
They couldn’t afford any more action scenes, and they couldn’t afford for half of Americans to boycott the film because it criticised them.
I feel like that wasn't quite the point. The idea wasn't to portray war straight up, but rather portray the material conditions war would bring. Shit's fucked for everyone, combatant or not. I certainly think it would be possible to do a serious and competent civil war movie, but that's not what this set out to do.
@@Moss_Cliff_ They didn't do a very good job of it in my opinion. The level of suffering would have been immense. The entire movie felt like it took place in Wyoming with how little people there are
You don’t understand the point of the movie
The point is there is no good guys and bad guys. The reasons of the war are unknown because they don’t matter.
The point is that wars like these are occurring all over the globe, and that they’re brutal, and everyone loses, the country is left devastated, and millions die
It’s an epic in my opinion, and it wasn’t what anyone expected
I don't think we can call this "Civil War" anymore.
In my perspective, it would have been called "Battlefield".
Man...the Algorithm is on point today.
Ahh, yes, the invincible "Press" with no helmets or ear protection are standing in the open to get photos. I am surprised they can still hear what is said let alone still be alive in that situation
What an interesting day to upload this specific clip.
Should have waited till January 6th in my opinion
Loving this documentary
Reminds me of the Washington D.C missions Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2.
The first part looks like a movie from the 90s lmao
30 mm apache sound like beam gun XD
Yeah they turned it into a minigun instead of the usual cannon.
tbh, i quite like the sound its earcandy to me
한국은 방금전 저렇게 될뻔 했어...
True.....😮
You have a good sense of humor, RUclips.... 😅
MAN the music in this scene is PERFECT ❤❤❤
It is very painful to have to fight the same Americans for law on the one hand and for justice on the other.
no one to be a winner after that.
And division weakens the country, and even if victorious, civil war creates an opening for a new external enemy to take advantage of.
I would alway suspect utube to be going beyond probaganda not only by recommending these videos but to manipulate the comment section having the good no of fake bots in there to generate hype for war, create a false trend.
Impeccable timing 😂
posting this now is wild
Oh cool, I didn't know the trailer for next week was out already... ;)
I wanted the see the scene with the limo from the thumbnail, and it's not here. Pure rage. Aaaaaaargh.
Why is this recomended after the elections?

😂😆😂😂😂the timing. Joblo you sly dawg 🦝
Honestly I can feel that, that one soldier yelling "Fucks sake, stay down!" Your vest is a suggestion not to get shot, not insurance, honestly doubt either side would care much if it's a human sized target press or not
This will be America in a few months 😂😂😂😂😂
The best part of this movie is, both major forces who were trying to rush the Capitol first to claim the kill, it did not seem like they would get along very well after removing the President.
I bet 495 still had traffic while this was happening
When i saw the white house isolated, covered in fast food. It really hit hard.
I love how simple they make combat

It is awesome!
a decade or so ago, we had many states holding referendums for leaving the USA several succeeding and submitted to the president. then everyone forgot about it. i hope i'm long gone when it comes--but it will.
No one would have electricity. The first thing either side would do is kill the lights
Generators must be a new concept to you.
Yeah you said this elsewhere. Good luck finding enough generators to power the entirety of dc.
Yes. There's some rules in urban warfare.
Cut the lights, the water system, the communication systems, control the main bridges and crossroads, etc.
@@trevorvallo5841 you must live in the city bless your heart. Generators would not work on a natinal scale and no one has enough fuel to run them for more than a few weeks.

do you do this with comic books?

That beginning part with the chinook did not look like CGI when I watched the movie. Now, it does 😂
I like how we are in the middle of an invasion, with troops on the ground, and tanks driving in the streets, but the city still has power. I am not sure our power system is as robust as this movie thinks it is
It's a photography movie to me tbh. The civil war is just a vehicle to help tell the story of the two togs.
Why do Americans always froth at the mouth about battle scenes? And critique anything to do with guns? Obsessed much
cry about it
This may be one of the worst representations of combat I have ever seen.
The City Washington D.C was designed for urban combat. The building and street placements and directions were made so it cant be easily captured.
Modern warfare 3(OG) was a great example of this
The Loyalist Forces are clearly on their last legs by this point.
Is this what will happen in America starting next week?
Probably not. The side with guns won the election.
love those shell-less guns. very clean and efficient
That is one strong ass helicopter at the start.
This might be our reality soon
Watching this under trump is satisfying
I'm in the Press. You would wear more PPE than those photographers and media people are wearing in this movie. Helmet and chest protection, even crotch and back.
And the press would not be advancing with the first wave, either. No way in hell any military unit would allow it.
I remember watching this movie and really wanting to avoid something like this 😭😭
War should never be glorified!
I remember when i was just a kid when the civil war happened and boy have times changed

What kind of sick timing is this, JoBlo?
"backblast, what´s that? i see no issue firing a missile from an encolsed space!"
This gonna be real life in about 4-6 years
The most unrealistic part of this movie is people standing up to fight the US government
The more unrealistic part is people thinking orange man is going to be the cause for this because he won...
@@JohnDoe-wt9ekif he tries to stay in office and keeps rigging the Supreme Court and coming after our rights, then it’ll cause a conflict of some sort. 1) more assault action like this

2:44 I saw this in theaters, and this scene was completely unfinished, even here it's only BARELY better, the tank is still more or less just a solid color with no details. But in the theaters, even the rubble it drives over was all unfinished untextured place holder shapes, lol. Like that pallet, the mattress, was just solid color rectangles and squares, lol.
The Abe mock-up is based on a Centurion chassis, you can hear the Rolls Royce Meteor at 2:37
Did the barrel on that tank fuckin droop like a pool noodle?
Hilarious. Cardboard artillery. 😀
