As a former Army guy I find great joy in seeing this.
I felt a great disturbance in the force almost as though thousands of marines felt severely dismayed 😂💀😭
Hahahaha, its amazing.
lol ya at lest i know what it was this time
Must have been for something different. Everyone knows that Marines can't read.
Straight up lol If you listen closely you can even hear a few loose crayons dropping
Being a veteran crayon eater, you are absolutely right. I popped a blood vessel on the title 😂
One of the fastest ways to piss off a Marine....calling them Army. What?!? Did you think I was talking about the movie?
To be fair a lot of civilians cannot tell the difference between army and Marines but that does not mean we respect them any less. We can still agree that each branch of the military kicks ass 🫡🫡🫡🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
@@bman3794 Doesn't help that Marines have been inserted in the middle of bum fuck nowhere these past 3 decades.
That’s a compliment! What are you talking about
Faster way to piss off a marine, tell them the army went in first and screwed up the job that the marines have to clean up
One way to piss off an old Army soldier, calling Marines Army…
“Dear humanity. We regret being alien bastards. We regret coming to Earth. And we most definitely regret, the Corps just blew up our whole ragged fleet. Hoo-Rah!”
Ahh i see you re a man of culture aswell.

THIS definitely NEEDS a sequel! I need to know what happens in other countries with their militaries.
The aliens land near coastal cities, depending on their objective it would be either massive global invasion or localized strike to make a bridge-head on the planet, likely the America's would have the worst of it lot of countries with relatively small armies and slow mobilization capabilities and lots of coast, Europe would fare better mostly UK, Greece Spain and Italy would face the greater impact. Moving south Africa in general would face lot of trouble although there is alot of independent militias that could help the small standing armies around the continent. Middle East would be fine too much desert but decently big armies. Russia probs fine its unknown if how good these aliens deal with cold but judging by the dissecting scene having so much water inside on cold temps wouldn't be good. Asia Japan could see overwhelmed with threats all around but they got a capable modern army could even the field, China would be fine big coast but big af army aswell the south Asian states Malaysia Philippines etc would see trouble lots of places for the enemy to land and small not so well supplied armies. Inda would have to deal with several fronts but should be fine they got a decent armed force and lastly Australia new Zealand austria would find difficult to defend some parts of his territories but they also got a big desert as a shield to their backs, NZ would faces the worst of it.
@@user-ef9eq8dk4iBruh😂😂😂😂😂😂 they would nuke the earth in response to Hamas😂😂😂😂
we need to see what happens when the humans counterattack with air support and the aliens are uncoordinated and shocked. This means round 2 would be easier for the humans but that also leaves the question as to if the aliens did the same thing and got even more reinforcements. At the end of this movie you see roughly a company size of marines reinserting into los angeles from the hollywood side. With this being the case wed have to see how far the aliens made it, because they got considerably close if not past Dtla. If they got as far as dtla, the marines and army would have to cut through the main force in LA, just to get to cut them off from getting a considerably larger force getting past downtown. We need a sequel. This movie was a gem but has alot of unanswered questions.
@@user-ef9eq8dk4i shut y b a
I pretty much agree with your assessment.
It would seem that there is a resource need for the extraterrestrials attacking invasion. The possibility that water might be the resource as it seem to be the extra terrestrial soldiers circulatory fluid, and as a fluid used in the drones. But that wouldn't make much sense in that there's a lot easier sources of water in our solar system that would require a armed attack, such as the Jovian moon Io.
Pretty much the same goes for mineral resources to scatter around our Solar System's various asteroids and moons of the large planets.
So my interest in this movie is, what was the premise for the extraterrestrials to conduct an attacking invasion ?
Its crazy how they predicted how LA would look today. Crazy
😂

Yeah, I remember this coming out when I was in Afghanistan. Still enjoyable to watch . It answers the question of why we need a Space Force.
we most certainly aren't putting the navy's railguns on satellites. Nope. We sure aren't. that's just a rumor and hiiiiiiiiiiiiiighly illegal. 🤐

Damn this was one of those movies i hoped would get a sequal. Say what you want about the film and how unrealistic it was, it was just a great change of pace in the movie sceen.
Having boots on the ground with ailens attacking and seeming like all is lost until they discover how to kill the alien. Would really loved to see a second movie be released or the universe expanded upon.
Exactly, every alien movie is some stupid civilian plot or soemthing that’s been done a thousand times. It’s NEVER just the boots on ground fighting. This movie was awesome. Screw the hate
This and John Carter
This needs a spin off sequel. The overhead shot of fighting in the streets hits hard. Love to see the take around the world.
time flew past, can't belive this is already a 13 years old film
I saw it on the TNT channel. I loved it from start to finish. And the guy who did that guy from "The Core" was in this movie. And the guy who did Leo from "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" was in this too.
I really liked this movie. I liked the idea that the aliens were stronger but not invincible like in other movies. They could still be damaged by normal weapons. Just made the movie more interesting and realistic even though its about an alien invasion.
I can already hear those marines screaming in pain from being called the army

"All stations this now, stations this net, stand by for sitrep. Enemy elements have advanced beyond the beach. Enemy units are still breaching out of the ocean. Enemy infantry outnumber us in the thousands, no final estimate. 1-0-1 Tank has been destroyed, companies behind defensive lines are falling back to form new lines. Be advised. They have heavy assault weapons. Firepower equal to high explosive rounds. We are not evacuating civilians fast enough, I say Again, we are not evacuating fast enough. All units be advised. -the most badass Marine of all time
One of the best human vs alien movies in existence, best things about this movie is the fact actual marines was involved in making it going off what someone said on a previous video of these scenes, and how much destruction it showed
It was awfully nice of the pilots to have their flight path to give the audience and the Marines a look at the beach and city battle instead of, you know, getting them on the ground somewhere behind the front lines so they could actually make it into combat.
that's just movie logic at work
For what it's worth, we can see planes strafing the ground as the Chinooks fly in, so I guess there's an argument to be made that they were trying to keep the air corridor clear for CAS but dont fight me on that
This wan't the Army, it was The Marines.....

I disliked the treatment staff, Sargent Nance received.
His squad got wiped out and he wished he could trade places with them.
The fact he didn't once lose his composure and snap says a lot about his character.
So this movie actually has a lot of book lore behind it. Long story short aliens get their asses kicked. They lacked air superiority and as scary as they seem on TV that in reality is like 1/3 of their forces in total it was only something like 1 million soldiers. They were running from a bigger bad guy but even then the bigger bad guy was probably only about earth level military wise.
Source please
actually the "bigger bad guy" wasnt bad

This movie is so dope
"From Canada" Americans just love to roast their Canadian neighbors don't they.
0:45 You can see a bit of James Cameron's Aliens reference here. Marines being cocky before the fight, thinking they're bad ass and totally invincible, then when shits starts getting real and they realize they're way out of their elements.
Marines losing their mind on the vid title lol. All kidding aside, as a former Army brat myself, we (esp hollywood) gotta learn to distinguish a soldier and a marine. They may eat crayons as snacks, but they really have long earned the recognition and respect they deserve. SemperFi bad mofos.
If they wanted ocean water they could have just asked . . .
This is one of the most interesting and unique movies to have ever come out. Yeah, alien invasion. Big whoop. But it's how they operate and the tone in which they do it. Almost as if the human race was fighting a reflection of themselves.
They attacked a major coastal point through essentially an amphibious landing and created a beachhead for more forces. They systematically set up ambushes for counterattack efforts and pushed inland with a shock and awe tactic. Was shown to both drag the wounded away as well as having some kind of leadership structure. They even set up command and control points much like a human military. Their weapons didn't seem too crazy like other alien movies with lasers that wipe out entire cities or laser guns that instantly disintegrate whatever it hits. They don't seem too dissimilar from conventional human weapons but are still different enough. They also employ various weapons based on the situation, such as that heavy cannon thing on the bridge as well as drones as like a support and air superiority craft. They also seem to know when they've lost a fight, such as the final battle where the ragtag unit destroyed the command and control center and the aliens retreat.
They should’ve sent Neyo to serenade them with his sweet words to disarm them
Haha yeah go Army!!! Semper fi!!!! Oorah!
Excellent ❤️ 🥰
