This is why I love Daily Dose of Internet. The context he provides isn’t enough to transform the video clips, and even with credit to the creators, it’s not enough to make it okay that he’s monetized. What makes it okay is that he contacts the creators and PAYS for the video clips.

Thank you for fighting content theft! My videos also get stolen and reposted on a daily basis (99% of the time with no credit, sometimes the thief even tries to take credit for the content). I've been getting them taken down but it's so time consuming and never-ending, by the time one gets taken down 3 new ones pop up, it's exhausting. And my channel isn't even that big!
For anyone who thinks that these reposts somehow "help" creators and give them "exposure," - they don't, as a creator you gain NOTHING from it. In this day and age it's extremely rare for anyone to look up a creator they saw on some random page, people just don't care. I've seen reposts of my stuff with millions of views, NO mention of my name and not one of the thousands of comments asking who the original creator is.
It's up to us to keep fighting this. Thanks again!

Trying this again. Can someone let Jack know about SssniperWolf's second channel, SssniperWolf Top Videos. It's an official channel that's linked from her main page, under "Channels" tab. It's all the same content but in "30 min. compilation" form. It's current and active and even has an upload schedule, Tues, Thurs, Sat., 10 AM (PST). I'm sure you content creators would like to know about this other channel and how it's just another lazy way to steal money from y'all. I don't use Twitch or Discord so it's up to you kids to pass this message on to Jack. If anything, it'll probably make for better content for Jack and us to enjoy!

I'm a fairly small RUclipsr. I've seen a few memes and liked them so I posted them on my channel. I'm no longer doing this, but this video has convinced me to take them down. It was never my content to share, and though I never made revenue off of these videos, I never gave the original creators credit(mostly because they were reposts that I reposted.) Thank you jacksfilms.
If there's a reposting feature, use that. Or copy/paste the link, or something, to share them. It's good to share them as long as the views and stuff go to the original creator

Bro it’s just memes.. this idea that people deserve credit for everything they do is crazy. It’s like I created the idea of rectangular video format and every video I see is in a rectangular format yet no one credits me for that! People criticize people for this stuff then get on Facebook and share memes they didn’t create, repost quotes and sayings they didn’t create, watch the news and shows like americas funniest home videos. People definitely deserve credit for stuff they create no doubt but the fair use law says “transformative” for using like comedy and commentary. People find reaction videos funny, and technically for it to be transformative you don’t have to do much. If people didn’t love it they wouldn’t watch it but clearly the people do love it. Personally I love reaction videos better than the original because many times they compile multiple viral videos and make them funnier. I like seeing other peoples reactions and I’m not alone. Millions of other people enjoy it too. Let people enjoy what they enjoy and y’all keep enjoying crap like this where this dude literally weaseled his way into popular RUclipsrs algorithms by hating on them. A bit ironic isn’t it? I'm a smaller RUclipsr who works on theoretical extinct animal vocalizations, and I've literally had people put my sounds into songs, digitally copyright those songs through third-party music software, then get my own original video demonetized for using digitally copyrighted songs in my video lmao. I was able to resolve this but it took a bunch of phone calls, emails to Google, and direct contact with the uploader of the music to resolve. Not to mention the amount of people who use my videos on apps that I don't use (Tiktok, Rumble, etc).

One of my Lady Dimitrescu animations took off on TikTok about two years ago (where she says "This is what dying feels like" and jumps on the camera) and was a big meme over there for a bit with people recreating it and reacting to it, etc.
What really ticked me off was one of the reuploaders commenting something to the effect of "Was playing around on the computer, came up with this, thought I'd upload it", and this was the only person from my memory claiming they created the video. If it goes viral elsewhere, I don't care that much, it is up to me to watermark and protect my content if I were more proactive (not that I think that should be a concern, but thieves like this make it essential), but taking credit and acting like they made my animation is what causes my blood to boil. I'm upset I can't even remember which freebooter commented that, but I imagine I would get the same limp dick email that *should* warrant the fear of a real world ass-kicking.
Okay, maybe I rescind using actual violence, but there needs to be the fear of not pissing off the wrong person. We should all be diplomatic and understanding as adults, but the unearned confidence these losers give with emails like that shows they never got comeuppance for shitty behavior.

This man is a hero. I can’t thank you enough for exposing her. My niece was a huge fan a her and I couldn’t stand her even before I realized she was a content thief. But now my niece is seeing the light and every “unsubscribe” is a step in the right direction. RUclips should be ashamed for putting this thief up on a pedestal. The amount of money she’s made off of other peoples hard work just turns my stomach. It’s the equivalent of a cover band making more money than the original artist. 🤦🏻♂️
I'd argue it's nothing like a cover band. Cover bands usually have talent and usually get permission. This is the equivalent of selling a bootleg CD you burned.
Also there is a growing trend where I see ppl blatantly picks up the video from others and do a voice over in their own language.
There are many "experiment" videos which are nothing scientific (I mean no explanation just ppl blasting, mixing, breaking things), then the guy will do a voice over in local language "hey what will happen if I throw this thing..."
Those who haven't seen the original think the guy is original creator.
Its crazy how the copystrike tool went from advertiser's power trip to our first line of defense with fighting this war.

The current controversy aside, Jack is not winning the war on stolen content. That's because there's a million times more content than available ears and eyes to enjoy it. This is because people are compelled to create and share, even with a faint chance of profit. If she is deplatformed, the tasteful ladies and gentlemen of the internet who are her esteemed critics will not be happy with who replaces her
I would agree, and I would not recommend anyone try to make their living solely by being an online content creator, it actually seems quite stressful and any content you make could be copied and used without you seeing it and you don't have complete control over that.

People need to understand that we aren't in the 2010s or even the early 00s anymore and that people who're freebooting content are doing it for personal/financial gain and that it's not ok to do it. It's actively harmful to the original creators and it's been tolerated for too long.
Honestly, people have taken advantage of content creator's hesitancy when it comes to filing take downs for awhile now and I think we're no longer in an era in which that hesitancy itself can exist.
man, I feel your perspective, and I absolutely agree with you on this! when it comes to content farms and stealing content, it’s fair for the original owner to stand strong and take down the thieves, but in my perspective, over the years, I’ve seen cases in which creators got falsely copyrighted and even striked under no fair circumstance, by companies and cybercriminals, and this has kind of ruined the definition of copyright in my mind, and so, regarding anything I might post online or content, music or whatever I make, at most times I’ll probably keep it as free to use, because I’m really the last person to actually care about people stealing what I’ve done, because in some way, this is publicity, I know this might sound strange, but, if I heard a song somewhere and I like it, I’d shazam it, without any question, so that I can later stream it and even add to my playlists, and the same goes if I found a video somewhere, I’d try to look it up myself, that way I can watch it on my own comfort whenever I feel like it, anyways, I hope you have a good day/night, and I hope you understand my perspective around this topic.

Interestingly, I think a lot of those accounts are younger people (maybe around 18 years old) who grew up with homegrown RUclips productions just existing in the world. In the same way early RUclips (2005-2010ish) featured a lot of random accounts uploading old TV shows and movies, the younger generation see older RUclips videos in the same way. They lack the context to understand that it's homegrown, non-corporate stuff. It's all just *content* to them. It's bizarre to see. At one point, RUclips was counterculture. Now it's seen by many as just "culture" that can be stolen from, appropriated, etc.

To be fair he might have signed a contract or deal that even with the info he can't stop putting the ad in, usually it's a certain amount of videos in a certain time frame so it's not uncommon to see, especially since it seems to be every video lately, so he might be trying to meet the quota of it so he no longer has to do it

This is why "Doctor Reacts to Cells at Work!" from Dr Hope's Sick Notes is the best "react" content ever. It's barely even "react" content, the guy loves pathology and cellular science and all his "reactions" are just him excitedly bursting into micro-lectures and adding more context and information than the show could reasonably fit. It's a truly transformative effort, and I will not stop plugging that series until the whole internet realizes that THAT'S HOW IT SHOULD BE DONE.
Seeing professionals react to stuff they genuinely enjoy is always really fun!
I love watching music composers react to video game music (esp Bloodborne lmao), they’re always so damn hyped up for it.
Plus, it’s a real learning experience!
Same with Parkour Experts reacts to Parkour games and Paleantologist reacts to Monster Humanter Monster Designs. These are the videos that will tell you something that you may never have known about before, plus their enthusiasm for seeing the thing they care about represented in some small way is amazing. There's also Village People/People from [Culture] reacting to new things and giving their opinions on it through their own cultural lens.
There’s an opera singer that reacted to Arknights songs and Kirby tracks and I love his insight on stuff.
Professionals reacting to stuff is probably the best form of reactions. One of my favourites is scenic fights. They react to a scene and break it down, explaining how the technique works, how it could be more realistic etc

My friend sent me a "version" of the original Protein Sketch, and it wasn't a freebooted version. The person who stole it re-inacted the whole sketch beat for beat (not even changing the order of Protein and stuff added or anything), and I got steamed. I LOVE the original sketch you made, I find it REALLY funny, and it's probably one of the first videos of your's I saw that got me into your channel. I reported the account and it got deleted, and I unfortunately don't remember who it was, but they didn't say anything like "inspired by Jacksfilms" or "original sketch by Jacksfilms", and they were basically trying to pass it off as their own, and I got pissed off at the video because it was actually worse than freebooting your video (imo) since if I hadn't known you or the video, I probably would have thought it was original
What's almost crazier than the number of accounts I see taking my videos and uploading them on tiktok with "part 1, 2, etc" is how many of them try and justify it with stuff like "I said in the description 'credit to BlueJay'" like that makes it ok. Like imagine stealing a flatscreen from Best Buy and on your way out the door you shout "Imagine I paid for this"

I've been making youtube videos for as long as Jack has--I remember when half a second of footage from a movie you were reviewing could get your whole video banned. now all these mainstream platforms just let others blatantly rip off others' content and they just...don't care? I unfollowed a tiktok creator i liked recently because he livestreamed an entire Hobbit movie WITHOUT EVEN BEING ON SCREEN (with tips turned on the whole time, of course). Of course these pieces of feces are already millionaires thanks to all the stolen content, but the very least RUclips etc. could do is STOP GIVING THEM -MORE- MONEY. I don't have much hope, though. I've watched these platforms get bigger and bigger and worse and worse, and nothing ever turns out well, once they get caught enough times doing one bad thing, they just shift and start doing something else bad. but thank you to oldbies like Jack for fighting the good fight in pointing out how awful and corrupt this sheet is...

imho, Pinterest is not nearly as bad, because majority of users there put links to original content.
I've seen so many of the exact same pins on Pinterest, just uploaded by a different creator each time. Even when I started uploading my own original content on Pinterest all it took was 3-4 days for someone to reupload it without credits or permission
