    I think one reason why the "how to eat bagels" wiki exists is because some people grew up with different foods because of cultural reasons and they want to try new foods without embarrassing themselves. I grew up with immigrant parents so there were some western foods I didn't eat until a little later. Even when I visit my home country, we brought some family friends to eat pizza and they literally didn't know "how" to eat it haha. It may seem strange to us because bagels are common, but think about how sometimes when you go to eat foreign food you might ask how is the proper way to eat it. Well to some other people, bagels are considered the foreign food lol. That's just some of my personal insight about the articles possible existence

    i know it sounds so silly to be describing shit like bagels as if people don’t know what they are, but i genuinely find it wholesome that so much knowledge is conveyed on wikihow and wikipedia without judgment. like for example, bagels are primarily popular in poland, the usa, and canada, with emphasis on areas with higher jewish populations. it’s not implausible that an immigrant from another region where bagels aren’t that popular could resettle in one of those places and not be sure how it’s typically eaten, for example. articles about social interactions can be great for the portion of autistic people who struggle with “obvious” social cues (assuming the articles are actually accurate lol). etc. i still find the articles in the video hilarious but i am, for the most part, still glad wikihow is out there, just in case someone needs it. (not saying all wikihow articles are good obviously lol, just that overall i’m glad that there is “obvious” knowledge written down explicitly in some of them)

    I think every wikihow article has the same art style because the website probably requires wikihow artists to do that. You can see that all these drawing are from different people - the thickness and use of lines, the different facial proportions, varying levels in skill, etc show that these are different people making these drawings. Most companies want art on their website to remain consistent so they have one distinguished style that is almost iconic and is associated with their brand, like wikihow's art style is.

      Lol what are some other methods I’m curious

    • @Michael-kp4bd
      @Michael-kp4bd Год назад +5

      @@skpokerface1 general sensory deprivation (mainly visual) methods. The pingpong balls in a bright room or with bright red shining in them create a visual input so clean and featureless that your brain starts adding noise to make sense of it (or random usually unperceivable visual noise stats to become prominent). So… throw in some white noise to do the same to your ears and you’ll get even more effects. Can’t think of anything else of the top of my head, but that’s generally the idea.
      Oh I guess another main one: the thing where you stare at the center of an animated spiral or diamond shape of moving lines (interchanging bands of outward moving black/white lines and inward moving black and white lines) for like at least 30 sec without moving you eyes. This will mess with your slightly higher order visual processing nerves related to motion, and after some time, if you look away, your vision actually warps just like how some people animate “acid melting walls” visuals. You may also be familiar with essentially the same phenomenon by playing a continuously moving beat-matching game like Guitar Hero, because it gets your motion perception to adapts to the moving visual frame. Essentially getting parts of visual field to track sections of content moving one way, while others are static or moving another way, and you’ll get a good 10 seconds of melty visuals, with no drugs needed!
