i assure you he has a therapist and probably has had a positive experience with the service. he knows about all the controversies but most of them are old and invalid. betterhelp actually does do thorough license checks on their therapists, but to be safe they suggested users also do checks so they don't get sued

It’s nothing that different from what other youtubers do (sponsorship ethics wise),but good to remind people of their past issues tbh. Im sick of it too, so I understand.
However a very big portion of people know in the youtube sphere about the basic idea or premise behind “do not use betterhelp”/why not to, so Ive seen the argument that bc the coverage for their BS was “good enough” (discussed by a lot of people) that it’s now unironically a good sponsorship to grab IF you know your demographic is mostly aware (old enough but not too old) or doesn’t participate with your ads/sponsors (creator tools/demographic
analytics).
The gist I got was; RUclipsrs get the money from a desperate company looking to rebrand and rebuild, and have a pretty good guarantee that 99% of their audience won’t bite lol

They “re-caught” (re-contracted) a lot of ppl/youtubers who denounced them before, because they were able to convince people they fixed their problems. I think I remember seeing too that they would lie about their internal company and policy changes, or lie by omission by dancing around certain previously noted “red flag-y” legal jargon, while changing very little in practice

There were also allegations that their therapists weren’t licensed and you wouldn’t get the same one between sessions.

@@cantthinkofaname5046 Probably, so it makes the most sense to power through their sponsorship duration as quickly as possible and move on. There aren't many suitable mechanisms for a creator to acknowledge that they understand and want to react to a community's concern without harming the relationship (to the market of advertisers, not to individual sponsors).
I mean, it is literally impossible to find a substantive comment without first reading 10 explicitly about the sponsor which makes it difficult to consider he is unaware.
I think the most telling thing on how well they pay is that CinemaTherapy still shills for them. Not just that they defended them in regards to the controversies, in video and their community tab. And that channel is run by an _actual_ therapist.
betterhelp has been accused of hurting those most vulnerable with untrained and uncaring employees. Please don't take sponsorships from just anyone jack

Others have said it's a 1 year contract... but I would argue that since they have broken laws and are a scam, any contract should be null and void.
