Bro needed to just say I don’t really like dogs so keep that in mind. Thats it. Anyone who turns to Reddit for relationship advice, isn’t going to be in the relationship for long
*Normal people* : "Yeah i don't really like [this thing]." *Redditors on r/thisthingfree* : "[this thing] is the literal bane of my existence. The fact that anyone could ever like or tolerate [this thing] is a telltale sign that our society is collapsing and I'm one of it's few geniuses left. My family have fallen to the [this thing] cult and I'm debating whether or not I should put them all down."
I just found a /catfree subreddit and someone was claiming that cats cause schizophrenia, ocd, bipolar and eating disorders.... How bloody dumb are people?? Also saying they dislike cats for "Being dumb, breeding, pushing other creatures to extinction and making noise" Guess what also does those exact things? Humans!! I might just be defensive due to being a cat person + mentally unwell and having stuff that I suffer with be blamed on cats bloody makes me mad
I went to r/childfree just to see how insane it is. The first actual post I saw is an angry rant about how when people have a baby the parents expect Their friends to get this, help out sometimes!! 😱😱😱 Stuff like “Look after our child when we sleep or run errands.” And they make it out to be some life changing task. “I have 0 obligation to offer or provide hands-on help with YOUR newborn.” “I didn’t sign up to be anyone’s freaking “village”.” stuff like that.
The one complaining about dog pee on trees makes no sense to me. Like bro, that's the least of your concern. The squirrels that live in those trees are pissing on them constantly, and there's a shitton of tiny bugs waiting to bite you the second you sit in that grass.
these people are all just complete Karens and fail to realize it. "Oh a dog was in my presence? I'm going to make a big fuss about it for no reason." There's nothing wrong with not liking or not wanting to be around dogs but to get into a boiling rage about anyone owning a dog is just so infuirating.
Yeah, same here. I was attacked by a big labrador thing when I was 3 and have never psychologically recovered lol. Most of these people are insane and filled with so much pointless hate. But to be fair, I do agree with 'No-Expression'. As I say, the rest of these people are just sad nutters, but people do look at you like you're a psychopath and if I say I'm scared of dogs and explain why, nobody takes it seriously. They just laugh at you. But if you say you're scared of spiders...
Right. I have an irrational discomfort with piercings but I don't go around telling people to take their earrings off and ranting about how unnatural they are on Reddit lol. If you're upset because you have a fur allergy and people don't respect or aren't careful around you I get it but Jesus don't make it your entire personality, these people are just making themselves miserable.
yeah the people I feel sorry for here are like, people who maybe got bit by a dog real bad as a kid or something. I get it, Dogs are everywhere and a lot of people are really bad owners who get offended really easily if you show any indication of not liking their dog. You end up here, and then 4 years later the place is a complete circlejerk that you're stuck in because it's become more satisfying than dealing with trauma.
I used to be scared of dogs (i was attacked by them a couple times when i was younger, not very harshly but still) but i was never fully "anti-dog" I saw why people liked them but i was just kinda scared
it’s sad to say that my son would love this subreddit. In his defense, he can only stand on all fours, has too much hair, has the IQ of a 2 year old, and only knowns how to say “meow”. He doesn’t know any better 😔
My daughter is 9yo and 10lb with a snaggletooth, she grew up with a pet bunny who passed away when she was 5 and was an only child until she was 8. She prefers bunnies over dogs, but is warming up to the 80lb stinky mutt. She hissed a lot at him when he was 17lb and sleeping in his crate. Now she comes and sniffs his paws when he is passed out. She HATED dogs and other cats and would actually attack me to the point I needed medical attention if she saw a dog or cat on the road or near our property, as if to punish me for not defending the territory by yeeting rocks at the intruders. Now I see her lick female dogs and cats from my window…
@@vibewithryan😆 I love this, but no -- I guess it's from a guy named Poe on some forum from 2005. as someone who is not at all a fan of dogs, suddenly I feel 100% more sane. These people really just sound like they don’t have the patience to care for any animal, not just dogs.
i got into an argument once with one of these guys (not a good idea to begin with i know) and he was convinced we were "discriminating" against him for not liking dogs instead of just, yknow, saying he wanted to kill all dogs... theyre really delusional. I couldnt care less if someone doesnt like dogs but this subreddit is another level
how do these people feel about babies? yk bc they cry uncontrollably, sometimes for extended periods of time and they are louder than dogs, they need more attention, you're responsible for them for way longer, etc. they also spit up often and poop in their diapers (arguably way smellier than dog poop and they'd have way more potential contact with poop). just curious if this resentment extends to other, more dependent humans or if its just animals.
I don't think I have the patience to care for an animal so I don't get a pet. Problem solved. I think spending a lot of time in a discussion group to rant about something you hate that has very little impact on your life is kind of pathetic.
Reddit by the very way it functions creates echo chambers, so I'm not saying you're wrong. However, I think writing "people with differing opinions are not allowed to post here" in its rules is something not many subreddits have. Even r/progun "invites" people to debate the topic in its rules. So Jack saying "it's just an echo chamber" is right in that it's an even more isolated echo chamber than most other subs.
@@namenamename390 yeah most subs look like echo chambers even if they aren't, cause the majority of people will disagree with something and downvote it making it harder to see, so even if people are expected to and often do disagree with the majority it will be very hard to notice.
@@Potatomnk absolutely. People being able to downvote things they disagree with is what creates all the echo chambers on Reddit. But for a sub to basically enforce echo chamber behaviour through its own rules is rare.
Of all the slurs they could have made up, they had to pick one that sounds like it's supposed to be a slur against straight men or something lol like that does not convey the idea of dog owner
Most of the people on the subreddit do not dislike children, in fact one of the reasons i notice most fellow dog haters are against dogs is due to the constant unprovoked attacks dogs launch against children
@@AgentMercer there have only been 500 deaths from dogs in the last 16 years in the united states out of the nearly 100 million dogs. its not a problem. if you are really worried about your kids being attacked by dogs maybe dont let them be outside without an adult nearby (something that you should be doing anyway)
Reminds me of a funny little thing that happened on twitter the other day. A headline reading "Woman attacked while walking dog", and some guy in the comments yelling "BAN THEM". Turns out, the woman was attacked by a MAN while walking her dog, and he changed his tone real quick when people agreed we should ban the demographic the attacker belonged to lol
i thought at the last part you meant they were saying “ban men” lmao thank fuck that’s not the case but fr fuck the mindset that dogs are just “mutts” they’re actually amazing creatures
Ok, embarrassing story time. I was very briefly a part of this subreddit and made a few posts there because I have a lot of complex trauma with dogs, in addition to just not really liking them. I got really exhausted with bad owners letting their dogs invade my space to the point that it was hard to feel safe in public. I wanted a place to vent about entitled OWNERS who don't leash their dogs and use "he's friendly" as an excuse to ignore your boundaries. I don't spend a lot of time on social media anymore and didn't when I found this sub either, and the first few posts I saw on there were of the more mild variety, mostly complaining about the owners and finding certain dog behaviors gross on what I assumed was a subjective level. It is genuinely exhausting to have such a universally loved thing as a trauma trigger, and I really wanted to believe that I had found people who would understand. To my chagrin, I let my confirmation bias get the best of me at first and assumed the more insane posts weren't reflective of the majority. Obviously that belief was shattered the second I read more than a few posts, and as buck-wild as the stuff you covered in this video was, I've seen way crazier shit on there. At one point I saw a post laying out an incredibly detailed political plan that would supposedly allow people to gradually legislate all pet dogs out of existence. Also one calling service dogs unnecessary. The people on that sub explicitly believe that all dog owners are "mentally ill narcissists" (their words, not mine.) No, I'm not exaggerating, I literally have a screenshot where someone responds to this accusation with "or they could just want to have a dog," (and of course got mass downvoted) and someone else responded with "which is an inherently narcissistic trait." Another thing they love to say is "dogs are the secondhand smoke of our time." I'm not really sure what that means, I guess that it's becoming normal to bring your dog into public indoor places the same way smoking indoors used to be normal? Pretty sure being in close proximity to dogs doesn't give you cancer though. There are also a few posts referring to widespread dog ownership as a corporate conspiracy. If you want to find the really crazy stuff on there, search "narcissist," "conspiracy," or "service dog." I still go on there sometimes because watching this phenomenon is so simultaneously frustrating and fascinating. I feel like a scientist crouching in the bushes and observing a rabid pack of wolves (a comparison I'm sure all these people would love.) On the one hand, it was so disappointing to briefly think I had found a supportive community who understood dog trauma, only for it to actually be a complete shitshow. I never wanted to ban all dogs, I just wanted owners to be more considerate in public and obey leash laws. I don't like dogs and I don't want them to touch me, but they're still living creatures. I don't like Twitter users either, but I'm not trying to ban them. At the same time, I think I came away from this experience with a better understanding of the psychological mechanisms that drive people to become radicalized through insular online communities, and to me this whole subreddit feels like a much smaller-scale version of that. A lot of the people on there have genuine trauma, I've seen so many posts and comments from victims of violent dog attacks where the owners refused to take responsibility and blamed them. None of this excuses the insane shit they say, but to me it's a useful analytical observation in terms of understanding how a person genuinely comes to believe these things and recognizing/combatting the potential for extremist thinking in myself. One of the biggest downsides of our increasing connection to one another via the internet, is that it's much easier for people with the same untreated traumas to find each other and build an echo chamber that artificially inflates the self perceived validity of their beliefs via the anecdotal evidence of all their mutual personal stories. It's ironic that they incessantly call all dog owners mentally ill when the most viable pathway for empathizing with these dogfree people is predicted on them being mentally ill/traumatized themselves. That being said, these posts are still absolutely batshit and worthy of being mocked no matter how mentally ill or traumatized their authors may or may not be. I don't say any of this as a criticism of people who like to make fun of them, and honestly I would love to see more videos exploring that sub. It's so weird to see someone else talking about it because the whole thing honestly felt like a bizzare fever dream and up until this point, I might have believed you if you had told me I just hallucinated it all.
there is a fucking 2 hour long video documentation waiting to be made on this batshit insane subreddit, reading this felt like i was reading a scrapped episode of the twilight zone because of how ridiculous people's hatred for dogs reach.
"Dog owners are mentality ill!" "Service Dogs aren't necessary" I'm starting to get the impression most of these anti dog posts are just (ironically) dog whistles to hate on people with disabilities.
“Service dogs aren’t necessary” is a wild take. What do you expect them to do, get a service pet lizard?! I don’t think a service pet lizard can alert the owner if they’re about to have a heart attack or faint, or steer them clear of traffic as well as a dog could.
i'm pretty sure most people on the subreddit have suppressed ocd or sensory issues and should get help but would rather yell about dogs to their echo chamber unfortunately
So is this subreddit moderated by Cruella de Vil, or what? Obviously no one is required to like dogs, but I do think it's pretty telling that these people seem incapable of grasping that others form strong bonds with theirs. Also, I'd be super curious to know if any of them are cat people, or if they're all just anti-pet tout court.
we understand that people have formed strong bonds with animals instead of human beings, but it shouldnt be our problem. We are tired of seeing them piss and crap everywhere, stepping in dog crap, seeing them contaminating stores, hearing the horrible barking, and being lunged at. We are also sick of hearing about the attacks on babies and children. So, yes, we wish these people were capable of forming relationships with human beings.
@@warondogs8199 why do you want a war on dogs? It's the responsibility of dog owners(NOT the dog itself) to pick up their shit and piss is a non-issue(guess where all of the urban animals piss). Also dogs don't lead people, rather people lead dogs, so when you see a dog in a grocery store or lunging at you it's, again, the owner's fault for not keeping them out of the store or training it not to lunge at people. Barking can also be prevented if you correctly take care of the dog during puppyhood. I don't understand why you are getting mad at dogs, instead of the bad dog owners out there.
@@Infernape7890 if you dont have a big enough yard for a dog, dont get one :/ its the same as any other animal, but dog owners are the only ones who act like they didnt choose to buy a dog unprepared.
@@ShepardsPie333unless you have entire acres just for your dog, you need to take them outside for both enrichment and socialization. Dogs are living, thinking creatures that need stimulation to stay healthy. Without that stimulation they can develop a number of disorders such as OCD, depression, separation anxiety pica, reactivity, and aggression (depending on the breed ofc). Funnily enough, many of these disorders are things these kinds of people point to to justify their hatred of dogs. (Edit) There's also ofc the physical fitness side and the fact that the average backyard is nowhere near big enough to let a dog stay healthy and fit
My favorite argument is always going to be “You love dogs like family *spits* that must mean you love and care for them more than humans”. I read a blog post once, unrelated to Reddit, about someone ranting about their brother calling them up after his dog died and saying how he and his wife were mourning. You know because he wanted comfort from his sibling. Instead the blogger ranted about how they thought he was calling about his health issues that his brother had and that their brother was selfish for caring about his dead dog rather than his health yatta yatta. Like it was honestly heart breaking to read that. And the comments were all hating on the brother and saying how he loves the dog more than his family. As if it were actually selfish to care more about the loss of one’s precious family over their own health. As if it were evil to call someone you love to get comfort about your loss. I really wish I never read that post but it was like a train wreck, difficult to look away.
Pretty ironic that the blogger claiming that their brother cared more about a dog than actual people was doing just that, caring about a dog more than an actual person. Instead of comforting their brother, the person who was in emotional distress, they decided to go rant on the internet about how much they hate dogs. It’s funny how hatred can blind people to very obvious irony.
@@bluestarnaos3019 Yeup. It’s about the person looking for comfort not the person they’re going to. I knew a girl in school who was like this but about cats. Apparently, she had a pet chicken that was killed by a cat when she was little. Okay, sure, I guess it makes sense why you wouldn't like them (I mean, it doesn't, you should only dislike that cat in particular and even then it's an animal, not a serial killer. Relax.) But this chick didn't just not like cats. It was genuine hatred. She talked about it CONSTANTLY. I literally caught her drawing cats being brutally murdered in MS Paint in computer class one day. I don't even like cats and it pissed me off. Was the chicken your father and cats conspired to kill him as a collective or do you think you could maybe get over it.
My brother has/had a intense fear of dogs, so I can understand not wanting dogs near you. what I can't understand is reffering to dogs as "The Beasts" or being angry at the fact that some other people like dogs and that they exist.
The real issue isn't necessarily bad dog behavior, it's the normalization of bad dog OWNERS. Bad owners often reinforce and encourage poor behavior in their dogs. For instance, I was at the vet when a woman in the waiting room let her two dogs with fleas roam freely around, brushing up against people and furniture. That's not okay. Most people, whether they have allergies or not, prefer to be left alone. Dog owners need to maintain control of their pets and ensure they don’t approach passersby without consent. What might seem harmless to you could be triggering for others. I've been attacked by dogs multiple times, always by unleashed dogs that were neglected by their owners and ended up lashing out at people indiscriminately.
Yeah, like I don't want my dog getting fleas from someone's dog who is just running around with no supervision. My dog almost got bit a few months ago. He was on a leash, this other dog was not. Pissed me off.
I think the normalization of bad dog behavior is a huge part of it. Like people who think their dog barking and trying to run at everyone around them is cute instead of bad because the dog is small (Chihuahuas especially). So many dog behaviors are just seen as dog behavior when it can definitely be trained out of them, and SHOULD if you take them in public.
You can't win either way with people. I know people in my apartment are either scared of large dogs or are allergic so I try to take wide births on walks with my dog around the complex. I will stop a good distance away so that my neighbors would feel comfortable enough to get to their apartment. They look at me crazy because I'm keeping my distance. Is it aggressive? Does it bite? Bruh no, just keep moving. I feel like some people are entitled to interact with other people's dog if they know they're friendly and it's honestly so annoying.
you can just exist using reddit/discord for small communities for like video games or whatever and then they seem like livable platforms. then you go anywhere else.
@Aaaaaaarrrpirate yeah that's usually what I do. But as soon as I enter a community idk(with maybe an overdone joke that I don't know is overdone), it reminds me how unwelcoming these places are lmao
To be honest, I understand not particularly liking dogs and/or having grievances with bad owners. Hell, I have issues with bad owners despite owning two dogs myself. My puppy was attacked by two ill-trained dogs who were let off their leashes while I was walking her [my puppy] and it was awful. Those inconsiderate behaviours within owners ought to be criticised and I get people talking about that. People have fears, allergies or just generally don’t want to be inconvenienced by pets while going about their day and that’s valid. It’s like somebody not wanting a child to come up to them and tug at their hair. HOWEVER, that subreddit definitely has some people who have weird vendettas against the mere existence of Canis lupus familiaris which is just… troubling.
yea agree, i feel like this should be more about how many people are bad owners, vs "dogs as a whole are demon spawn". it's really weird of them to direct that to dogs as a whole.
This is exactly how I feel. There are genuine concerns to be had about dogs, dog ownership, and how we treat dogs in society. But, this subreddit is bonkers. There is an actual discussion to be had, but they ain't having it.
Another hilarious point is that man MADE dogs. We domesticated and selectively bred them to do all the neat shit these morons might call annoying. I don't like dogs either but I just avoid them and their owners and that's the end of it. I do share concerns about the ethics of dog breeding and owning one irresponsibly but.... we created them lmao.
Well they don't actually care about good or bad owners, they just lack empathy and are selfish and have a weird sadistic streak, and this subreddit is the only way for them to get their feelings out. They wanna play the victim lol.
Fr, cat hate is SO mainstream, it's maddening. Or you'll get the more lukewarm but still wrong "well, they'll never really love you like a dog will!" bs. Uh, yes they will. It takes a lot more time and respect for their boundaries, but you can absolutely bond just as much with a cat, even skittish ones. My recently departed Daryl took several years to want to be my friend, but during the last several years of his life, he was the sweetest companion I've ever had. Just takes patience.
@@Neogeddon some cats will love you without having to be gentle and patient! i have a five year old ragdoll boy and he’s affectionate with everyone and everything. we also play fetch all the time and he’s very talkative and charismatic. i’ve had three cats in my life and they’ve all been totally different. i don’t think a lot of dog people are aware of that!
@@gabriellaberman True - they have their distinct personalities for sure. Daryl's brother Larry was always a lot more outgoing and vocal and we had this lil thing where I would pinch my fingers above his head and he'd rear up like a meerkat :'] I miss them both so much. I think the key difference is that while dogs do have boundaries, they are generally wayyyyy more tolerant of being messed with. I've met so many people who understand the idea that if a dog bites you, it's probably because you were making them uncomfortable, but when a cat scratches them it's just because "cats are assholes". Dog people will approach cats the same way they would approach dogs and come away thinking that all cats are just spiteful scratchbeasts. When in reality they're instinctually more cautious because in the wild there's a whole lot more things that'll eat them.
I am sympathetic to people with phobias of dogs, if you have a phobia of dogs I am not gonna be like "YOU HAVE TO LIKE MY DOG, YOU HAVE TO PET THEM" like no dude, I get it. My grandpa when he was a child was bit by a nasty German Shepherd during the Nazi occupation of my country and he had a lifelong fear of dogs because of it. Like I am not gonna be like "Just like dogs dude" to someone who was bit by a military dog during a brutal occupation, and you never know the story behind why people have these phobias so a good rule of thumb is to just be respectful of it. If people are genuinely uncomfortable with your dog around them, accommodate them. It's not a lot of sweat off your back. I am a dog owner btw and if it needs to be said since Jack insinuated this, I think this is fine for pets and phobias of said pets, but not when it comes to human groups obviously. There's a difference. However, if possible you SHOULD seek some therapy for it. At least to cope, instead of acting like these losers, however even here I feel that the "just get therapy lol" is always such useless advice. It's not that easy for many.
The most crazy thing about them to me is that they are often cool with military and cop dogs because they’re dogs with jobs. Literally only hate dogs when they’re for companionship. Not when dogs are copaganda violence machines. Wtf
@@allyli1718Which is also bizarre since most breeds of dogs were created FOR jobs, we as a society just made them obsolete and keep them in homes now. Hunting dogs aren't needed in the middle of the city, but I guess they're just evil leeches for being unemployed dogs lol
Yes. It literally predates architecture as a whole. When dogs were domesticated we were sleeping on floors and building huts. We were literally almost the same as wolves when we domesticated them into dogs.
And that's a sign of true friendship, when both of you are near unrecognisable from when you first bonded thanks to how you've helped each other grow. I get why one would be scared of dogs, they're often large and can cause real damage if they feel they have to, but I really don't think humanity would be where it is today without them. They've helped us hunt, guarded our livestock, guarded _us_ , they've kept us warm on freezing nights and all they ask is to be part of the family, to enjoy the kindness humans offer each other. This isn't to say we humans have done nothing in return, of course. We provide them shelter, help _them_ hunt, lead them, and most crucially keep them healthy in ways they can't do themselves (i.e. bandaging them, picking off ticks, brushing them etc). Anyway, what I'm saying here is yes, we had dogs before we had permanent shelters or reason to care much about hygiene, and we wouldn't have gotten those so easily without the protection and security they provide. We are a symbiotic species and whether or not an individual human has a dog, they would not enjoy the comfort they do if dogs did not exist. Thank you for coming to my ted talk
i understand the sentiment of not wanting taking your dog everywhere (outside of service dogs obv) to be normalized because it can cause a lot of problems (i.e. biting or peeing indoors if the dog’s not trained properly, allergies, people with phobias, etc) but this is just sad 😭
"your dog does NOT LOVE YOU. leave the door open and it will RUN." you could leave every possible exit to my house wide open and my dog will NOT leave he knows damn well how good he's got it 😭😭
@@The-one-and-only-Fruitcake seriously! Some dogs are so silly and stubborn about leaving the house until they hear "pup cup" or "walk"! My dog didn't want to pee outside when it was snowing outside until I tricked her by using my hair dryer to melt a little spot for her to pee in my back yard 😅
Absolute worst thing our dogs did when they escaped through our front door was run up and down the street sidewalks and then come back and hang out in our yard.
I remember when Markiplier went through this subreddit a few years ago, and back then, it seemed like this subreddit had a lot more common ground where a lot of it was calling out bad owners and dog worship. They even invited people who like dogs to join in as long as they're respectful. Now it looks like its been so incredibly gatekept that no one can have an opinion unless it's, "all dogs must die." Kind of a shame. I love dogs, but i also appreciate people calling out bad owners.

I can understand that you're dog shy, and some people are horrible owners, but we've had issues with our delivery drivers throwing the packages at our dog because the last driver gave her treats so she'd sit and wait for snacks. I'm not saying you'd do this, it's just an anecdote
This is why we don’t open the door until the delivery driver is safely back in the truck, she’s never bit in her life but the drivers don’t know that Edit: we’ve now trained her to stay seated from the moment the door is open to the moment it closes
I heard about this sub before from childfree actually. Lots of children people still want marriage and pets and there was someone complaining about the pets part so some people sent them to dogfree. Never heard of it, so I looked at it too and was in SHOCK. Like, I don't like dogs either but Jesus, it had a different, more gross feeling than childfree. I guess at least childfree supports medical care for sterilization when people want it and allows posts from parents.
I remember I once saw someone defend this subreddit because a lot of people have dog-related trauma, which I understood. But then they said “have some basic empathy!” which was funny because they were talking about people who fantasize about animals being killed
lots of perfectly understandable reasons to _dislike_ dogs: trauma, sensory issues, germaphobia, even just not “getting” them. but dedicating a whole poorly-moderated community to it just leads to increasingly obsessive, deranged thoughts and behaviors
3:50 at the end of the day, we are also outdoor animals. I for one wouldn't want a random person in *my* bedroom. They might not shit on my floor, but they might
IMO it seems like a collective of people with phobias of dogs, germs, and/or sensory issues who think the unpleasantness dogs bring them is, like, a moral issue.
REAL! Dogs are animals, they cannot comprehend morality! If a dog bites you it's not because it's a fundamentally evil creature, it's because it's an animal. They're domestic animals that rely on humans to train them! I feel like the problem of viewing dogs as having a moral compass both breeds folks who think dogs are morally evil and bad dog owners who let their dogs run around off leash.
I'm a cat person who isn't a big fan of dogs, and I even had childhood trauma from a serious dog bite. But this whole subreddit is insane, stupid and mostly irrational.
same actually, got bit as a child after our family dog died. However, I have been able to reacclimate to dogs through years of being exposed to friendly dogs. I am still no amazing friend to dogs or anything, much more of a cat person, but this subreddit is just so unhinged for no reason aswell. I can understand being mad at people for not training dogs well or at all. However, anything beyond that is just so unhinged.
These people are insane, but there is something to be said about allowing dogs in places that aren't specifically for them and also people allowing their dogs off leash in places they shouldn't be. People taking dogs into businesses that don't make a ton of sense (like grocery stores, for example) make it more difficult for people who need service dogs to access those places. In addition, people who take their dog off leash in non-off leash areas can be an issue as well, for example if it proceeds to go up to a leashed dog who DOES have behavioral problems. Dogs themselves aren't the issue, but we need to be more conscious about where we allow them.
True. A majority of off leash dogs are well behaved BUT I don’t care how well trained your dog is because you’re setting up a situation where a poorly trained dog will injure someone.
@@horsecrazypeep101 Also they're still animals that are capable of causing harm. He didn't get injured and didn't press charges and that dog lived out her life never doing anything like that again. Even a well trained dog can cause harm and so they should be leashed.
Yeah. Maybe I am a bit biased since I'm not a huge dog lover, but this applies to any non-service animal anyways. If it's not a service animal doing a job, it has no place in the grocery store, restaurants indoors, etc. Not only is it disrespectful to others, it's also insanely stressful for dogs who have not gotten the socialization needed to be around strangers. Same goes for unleashed dogs. Yes the dog may be well trained, but that doesn't remove the risk of the dog being injured from cars and other things, and potentially getting into things that can be toxic to the dog. Also other dogs who might get startled upon seeing the dog and get aggressive.
I think the worry should be less about how well trained an animal is and more about potential allergens. When I worked in hospitality, someone bringing in a pet meant you deep cleaned that table aftwerwards. When I didn't have a choice but take my cat with me literally everywhere, he would stay in his carrier when we were in a store because he could very easily make a place unsuitable/deadly for someone with an allergy.
I was attacked by a labrador when i was 7. It chewed my legs to meat in some places, i can remember how warm blood pooring down my leg was. Stiches, CPTSD, I started stuttering from that incident. My relationship with dogs isn’t great after that, I can’t bond with them well. Do i hate dogs? No, i hate 2 adults who were in that room and didn’t run towards me when that dog attacked me. They wrer responsible and they did nothing to stop him for the whole time. IT STOPPED ITSELF because it probably realised that this is no longer a threat and walked away. I don’t know, it gave me time to walk out of the block of flats (all bloody on the backside) and walk towards my parents, until someone called an ambulance.
When I used to use Reddit I went to this subreddit because I thought it was from people who weren’t exactly dog people but didn’t hate them all. Boy was I wrong!
This is Cruella de Ville and her 72 alternative accounts. I cannot process a living human being saying that and not immediately hearing how crazy they sound. Not for not loving dogs- for saying, without a hint of irony 'I cannot stand puppies'. AT THIS POINT, YOU HAVE BECOME A CARTOON STEREOTYPE
tbf the puppy thing i kind of get - i DO love puppies and they are super cute and fun to cuddle but having dealt with my family’s puppies… i would never adopt one, i’d get a dog that’s already 1-2 years old. my mom was in tears almost ready to give up our border collie pup when she was teething because she kept biting her ankles and chewing things up. a lot of bad dog behavior is mischief they get up to as puppies that owners don’t bother training them out of. they can be frustrating and exhausting and disobedient just like any toddler and so to an extent i understand not wanting to be around them just because they look cute… but at the same time like with human toddlers you gotta understand that they’re babies learning about the world for the first time and to wish harm on them for doing what comes natural to them, no matter how frustrating or personally annoying to you, is insane and definitely stereotypical evil villain “i kick puppies for fun” type shit
They talk like that because the mods literally delete and ban anything that ISN'T specific to dogs. It even specifies that if you try to mention cats you're out
To me, how people interact with dogs is like an empathy test. My father-in-law is really grumpy and intense, but he is very kind and affectionate to his dogs he’s rescued so that tells me what’s deep down in his heart. People that are unkind to animals, especially vunerable animals that are very emotive and human-bonded like dogs, I stay far far away from. Don’t get twisted, it’s okay if you’re not a dog person or if you’re scared of dogs. I used to be really scared of big dogs until I married my husband. My husband has a HUGE fear of snakes, but he lets me keep a ball Python he doesn’t ever have to interact with and he doesn’t despise the greater reptile community, he understands that some people appreciate snakes even if he doesn’t get it 😭😭 actively HATING a group of people that want to provide and nurture an animal of any kind is bizarre
yeah, its kind of an empathy test. Thats why many serial killers and murderers were VERY into dogs, (and the dogs liked them back just fine, too) including Hitler. Yup, sociopaths just ADORE dogs. They are a sociopaths dream organism, because they cant talk back, and the owner has complete domination over them, and controls their EVERY MOVE with food rewards, and the thing SEEMS (Its fake, its just reacting to its food dispenser being home) to be excited to see you no matter what. Psychos just LOVE dogs.
@@warondogs8199 I don't think you understood OP lmao, or you misunderstood purposefully (seems more likely by your tone, you sound like you think you're very smart). Mistreatment of animals, especially ones under your control or care, is the indicator of a person's murderous tendencies that OP was talking about, it's very common knowledge and I think you know that. Numerous serial killers had a history of hurting/killing animals in their childhood. Just beccause you're saying something confidently doesn't make it true. Also I feel like reducing Hitler to a 'psycho' is a complete cop out- people don't need a mental illness to be bigoted, hateful dictators. Anyone can be a racist antisemite. 'Othering' that attitude is erasing history- letting the huge part of 'normal' everyday society that also held these views off the hook. Thinking of Hitler as some comically evil crazy guy is ahistorical and minimises the role our society's prejudices played in WW2.
@@Andrew04354 they can’t refute it, dog lovers simply have no arguments against the cold hard facts. The only thing they can do is parrot “i love dog, dog love me” like some zombie
These people hate other animals in general, not just specifically dogs. 90% of the stuff they talk about applies to basically any animal you could possibly have or be around.
@@goldh2o543 yeah, ig the fact this subredit is applied to dogs specifically gave me the idea they just hate only dogs, but they just hate the responsibility of a pet in general.
I've tried to join this community in the past! As a person with a lifelong phobia of dogs and a deep dislike for them (and their owners who very often point and laugh or yell at me and curse me out), I thought I could find people like me there. But even I didn't have a great time. There's this weird focus on how dogs are gross, not orderly, sort of uncivilized, and have no place in a _nice, clean_ society. The undertones are not great, and they seem to come at this from a somewhat different angle than me.
The "I thought I could find people like me there" bit is SO true. With like... literally any subreddit that's been around long enough. The only people left are the fringest of fringies who don't invite any sort of moderate opinion : /
wh... i cant understand having such a deep hatred of an animal that you search for a community of likeminded people. what exactly _were_ you looking for??? a different kind of dislike? a dislike with a "better undertone"?
@@clearlynotchloe I can't speak for OP, but since I replied and got notified I'll share my own perspective anyway: sometimes I just want a wee bit of emotional validation on something before I can move on from it mentally. Like, I have phobias and dislikes that I know aren't rational, and sometimes I just want to pulse check and see that I'm not alone. The difference between emotional ventposting and the type of... uh, I guess purposeful hateful obsession, that you see on places like r/dogfree, is usually easy to spot. There's also the difference of like, simply disliking/fearing a thing and leaving it at that, and going into great detail over it, or starting to make up even more problems that aren't even actually there to be angry about. I hope that makes any sense; I feel scramble-brained trying to explain it haha
@@clearlynotchloe yeah I'm siding with you on this one. _What possible "good undertone" could you get from a subreddit devoted to hatred of something?_
As someone with a needle phobia, joining r/dogfree because you have a phobia makes about as much sense as me join r/antivaxx. Like no shit its a bunch of wackjobs, its made out of hate.
4:53 I admit im a karen when it comes to pet dogs in stores bc I had to retire my service dog after he was attacked at the grocery store :/ I dont get why its so hard to leave your dog at home. (Note: I don’t fakeclaim every person I see bc sometimes the dog is genuinely in training)
I work in a department store (Australia) and HATE people bringing their pet dogs in 😤 Here service dogs (including trainees) should be wearing harnesses stating that they’re a service animal, do you have that?
@@kjroza1187 That's a thing here in the U.S. unfortunately, it's easy to buy a vest that says 'service dog' and put it on a non-service animal. I don't believe that there is an official register or system used to identify certified service dogs, so many non-service dogs are able to slip through.
I’ve had people come into the RESTAURANT I work at with their dogs. One of them I didn’t mind too much, it was a little puppy and all they came in for was some water and a small sandwich and then left (they were holding it the whole time, so it wasn’t running around or anything). One of them though, brought their little shitzu into the store, brought it over to the eating area, and just… sat there. For 20 minutes. With the dog.
Don't call yourself a Karen. People are literally allergic to dogs. and they might go to the bathroom in a building. Not to mention if they decide to get aggressive to someone or another dog, and someone could have a phobia. Obviously that subreddit is extreme but they have some good points and have given me another perspective that I appreciate. The flaws of dogs at least in America are disregarded. It irks me the way they are seen as angels. This is coming from someone who has had dogs around them basically their entire life.
I used to lurk in this subreddit years ago and it felt like every other page had at least one article of a dog dying and the sub celebrating about it. I despise the vibe in r/childfree (as someone who will never have children), but even then it made me have to give credit to the childfree subreddit for at least having a rule to not post about dead kids.
No, it's awful they even have to have that rule in the first place. It means at one point in time, people were posting articles/pictures/etc of dead children and celebrating it
I saw another comment on this video that said that this subreddit was initially satire, but there are some ppl that didn't know it was and were like "finally someone who gets me" Poe's law stops for no one
That reminds me of the story of two furries who met on a dating website who shared exactly the same interests but the woman rejected the guy because he was a kangaroo furry and she didn’t date “weird species”
To be fair, a lot of dog owners are horrible and don’t properly train or care for their dogs. They just get a dog because “it’s just what you do” but dogs are like kids and take effort to keep happy and healthy. I can’t hate dogs, but certain dog owner’s I do hate lol
Exactly! People get dogs and, I am not joking, some LITERALLY admit they love their dogs more than THEIR OWN CHILDREN! Sick people! I like dogs, though, honestly more than cats. But as long as you like dogs, cats, no pets, etc. but are nice, I am cool. I still think people going as far as to harass service dog owners is really disgusting, however.
just seeing that comment thats like "dogs are OUTDOOR animals they HATE being indoors" oh good lord theyre like the outside cat people but somehow WORSE. also, "my wife wants a dog"-guy confuses me like. the only times he has to take care of it is when his wife is working. so is he just at home all the time? or conveniently always when the wife is working?
My dog is an indoor animal who will literally walk to the door and wait for us to let her go inside we're all chilling in our backyard. We tried taking get camping and she refused to leave the tent when there were bugs lol
Tbh if one partner wanted to get a tarantula and the other had a problem with that despite the fact that tarantulas are harmless and that the tarantula would literally be closed in a container that would be somewhere out of sight and the other partner wouldn't have to do anything, since tarantulas only need a water dish and to be fed once every few days and they can last months without food and the other partner didn't want it half the people would side with the one that doesn't want a spider in the house.
Now I'm not saying I'm going to run out and join this sub but I do think a lot of dog owners these days lack consideration or respect for whether they have consent from others to be around their dogs. I hike with my toddler and the number of people who have their dogs off leash in places where it is clearly marked that they're supposed to be leashed is insane. So many. If a dog comes running up to my little boy and refusing to go back to their owner who is calling them one more time I might get as angry as some of these people. Sure maybe you think your dog is "Super friendly don't worry" but the damage they can do if they actually aren't and bite a little kid? I do not appreciate it one bit and I am in a place I should not have to deal with that. Go to a dog park or keep your dog on a leash.
Yeah, entitled pet owners are a big issue. I think it's weird to blame it on the dog, though, or to say it's some inherent factor of pet ownership like the subreddit is.
@@ScorpionClaws789 agreed. But I also think portraying them as horrible, irredeemable beings, like a few of the people do here, is the wrong way, as well.
people who think dogs should just ~roam free~ are hilarious. my dog dislocated her hip and needed 6k surgery last month by JUMPING and falling funny. that girl would die in the wild 💀
Also, humans are "meant" to live outside as well (whatever meant actually means). Do these people get happy when they see homeless people living in their natural habitat lmao
It boggles my mind to think that people use their OUTDOOR shoes inside the house. God, just get some slippers or sandals or something if you don't want your bare feet touching the ground!
Wasn’t there a statistic that a lot of people don’t actually wash their hands after they go to the bathroom? Like a lot more than you would think? I am sure that there are people in this Reddit that don’t wash their hands after they go to the bathroom but are complaining about dogs being dirty. 😭
obv this sub is insane but every time some idiot lets their dog go unleashed in a public space and it runs up to me and tries to jump on me, I get radicalized a little bit more. I'm severely allergic to dogs and have a panic disorder. Thank you for the hives and the jumpscare. yelling "he's friendly!" from all the way down the road is NOT the correct response.
and the people bringing untrained, non-service dogs EVERYWHERE is so insane to me. I'm in one of the only states in the country where this is 100% legal with protections on the books so that people can't bar emotional support dogs (not trained service dogs) from private businesses - except there's no required training or standards for emotional support animals and you are not allowed to ask questions about what the point of the dog is besides "is it an ESA or service animal". Can't even ask for proof. About a month ago I watched someone's ratty little toy poodle piss in the cold aisle of the grocery store. Owner walked off and I have no idea if she actually told staff cause she seemed completely unconcerned. People stick their little dogs in the carts all the time and get their allergens all over it. And if they're not in a cart, they're sniffing things on the shelves and once again getting their allergens all over them (more than once I've seen dogs straight up lick things on the shelves) There's a nice lady who brings her ACTUAL service dog to the coffee shop all the time, and the dog is adorable and I love her from a distance (her name is Biscuit and she is a golden retriever who is missing her tail and all the regulars say hi to her when she shows up 🥰). But recently someone has started coming in with what I think is a yorkie/chihuahua mix and that little gremlin IMMEDIATELY barks and growls at the service dog and will not shut up no matter how many times the owner half-heartedly shushes it. The lady with the service dog has had to leave before because it got too stressful and I have to wear earplugs when it's inside. Some people should NOT be allowed to have dogs.
@ypp0p Hey, it happens. Over around 20 total years of dog ownership I've had a couple of collars snap, randoms opening gates, children breaking off parts of fenceboards, children unclipping them from their tether, possibly more if I were to try remember.
@@rabbitos directing your hatred at the ANIMAL and calling them rats (rats are great, by the way) and "gremlins" is still weird tho lol. like i'm sorry but it's just weird as fuck to deliberately demonize an animal and think of it as evil because it...has bodily functions. i worked in a grocery store and human children used to shit and piss on the floor all the time, that doesn't mean all kids are the devil and it would be equally weird as fuck for me to convince myself that they are. toddlers and animals don't understand human social etiquette. expecting them to and freaking out when they don't is just dumb. a normal, healthy person might be angry in the moment, but then you get over it 🤷
Craziest comment was one talking about "I let my kid talk me into getting a puppy..." talks about how he despised the "needy little mutt" eventually goes on to say that one of the best days of his life was getting rid of the dog. "Felt a bit guilty for my kid."
I genuinely dislike being around a lot of dogs. It’s gotta be a really well behaved one for me to like it, I’m even allergic to them so I get really annoyed when I go somewhere and I’m just forced to be around them and get so itchy my eyes swell shut if I’m there too long. HOWEVER, I do still understand why people like them, and I do think that a lot of them are cute. They’re honestly just too much for me, too much energy and too much for my immune system
Like if the dog is just nearby or like super close/lives in the house? I don't understand how you could be so allergic to dogs if they are just in the general vicinity (not judging, im also cursed with allergies to so many common things, i get the pain.)
@@Justapikachu577 if it’s in a house/building and it’s not a hypoallergenic dog. It’s mostly because it’s the saliva, and most dogs lick everything, including it getting on their hair. If it’s outside I’m usually alright as long as I don’t touch it. And tbf it does usually have to be a prolonged contact for my eyes to swell shut, it’s maybe only happened 4-5 times, but I still get INCREDIBLY itchy. I still like dogs as a concept, I just really can’t be around them. Although I always wished I could have a little Pomeranian
Ooooh man I have the same problem. My parents used to only have hyper allergenic dogs but then my mom got an adorable bloodhound puppy who sheds and drools everywhere. I still love her so much. Her name is Jolene :) Anyway I basically pop nondrowsy claratin and slam eye drops every day when I come and visit and it makes things manageable.
I mean if you live in a "pet free" apartment building, encountering dogs in your building's elevator is a genuine grievance. It's like if people smoke on their balconies in buildings where that's not allowed. From my perspective, these people are taking it way too far most of the time but as someone who's been bitten by dogs and doesn't really like to be around them, I can understand the general sentiment. I feel like I should be allowed to go places without dogs getting in my personal space. Also, it's mostly the bad kind of dog owners giving the rest a bad name. The ones who don't keep their dogs leashed when they should by law in a given area, the ones who don't pick up after their dogs and just let them crap all over the sidewalks and so on.
Agreed. My friend and I went to a lovely café to have lunch the other day, and were seated next to people with two dogs. I really don't deal well with loud noise, so I asked to be seated inside instead in case they started barking. Sure enough, in the middle of our meal, they started barking, which really disturbed our peace. Just before we left, some guy was seated behind us with his loud child, which was also very disturbing. If you're gonna bring your pet or child somewhere, make sure you have properly trained them to be at an acceptable volume when you're around other people. You don't know how disturbing their bad behaviour can be to others, especially when they go somewhere they don't expect you to bring your child or pet.
The dogs may have been therapy/aid dogs, but this subreddit thinks that every single person who has a dog for emotion support or health reasons is just lying.
@@adeer87 I'm not sure such aid dogs would be exempt from rules banning animals from apartment buildings under the laws in my country. I'm not a lawyer, but I'd assume they wouldn't be.
Is it fine that some people don't like dogs? Yes. Are dogs for everyone? No. That being said - therapy. I think a lot of these people could benefit from therapy.
Honestly i can see the reasoning behind some of these posts, i like dogs but for someone who doesnt i can see why itd be bad to have someone just let their dog run wild while using “its friendly!” as an excuse, but then those reasonable posts get buried under a mountain of extremist shit
Dogs saved me from depression. I understand having cynophobia, that’s something I can respect but I’ll never understand this hatred for dogs. This subreddit actually reminds me of a friend I used to have who got incredibly frustrated when I talked about dogs. Like I once talked about how my dog’s breed (English Springer Spaniel) couldn’t resist getting dirty and once when I showered him my bathroom was covered in sand and mud, they said, barely half joking: “I’d rather have a cat that brings in dead rats than have to shower that dog” Also I asked them if they were afraid of dogs “No, I just don’t like them, they’re so scary” “So you’re afraid of them?” “No I just find them scary.” Also they once argued with me that it wasn’t that weird of Britain to ban Pitbulls But this is just weird, dogs are the most important to me and I can’t understand why they get mad at someone for wanting to have someone to take care of. Dogs (usually) are easier to take care of than babies, it’s not weird to want something to take care of, it feels nice and gives a lot of purpose in life. I ended up yapping because I just really love dogs
So I hate dogs and I have never called a dog owner a weird made up slur. I agree to not go to dog parks, please keep your dogs and pets on a leash on normal trails and grocery stores. Not everyone wants to be licked by an animal
Also, unless it's a service animal, you really shouldn't bring your dog into the grocery store. Some people are allergic, some people are scared, or maybe there isn't enough room in the aisle. Or worse, the dog could shed and it fly onto open food like the produce.
Its funny bc we've been friends with dogs for at least 15,000 yrs - way before any other domesticated animal. Humans and dogs have evolved along side each other, the bond between humans and dogs is the result of thousands of years of friendship, working together, cohabiting a space, hunting, etc. Some people bitching on reddit isnt going to undo a miracle of domestication
Similarly the human race won’t go extinct anytime soon just cause some people don’t want kids. I’ll only be convinced if I have to quit my job one day because there’s no more kids to work with.
@@Zyrdrakyll except its not. sheep cows and goats were meant to live outside the home, were meant to be docile and were domesticated much later than dogs. Dogs were made to work along side us and with us, even if they were also sometimes used as food. They're pack hunters like us, its not the same as livestock
@@Zyrdrakyll Both humans and wolves could kill each other, so forming a truce was much more meaningful. They were also domesticated 10K+ years before agriculture. Also, unlike those 3 animals, wolves and humans were both hunter-gatherer carnivores, and wolves helped humans using the behaviors they learned. We didn't eat their meat or use their fur or milk.
They need to feel slighted by SOMETHING to feel 'important' or whatever so they victimize themselves with an animal we've spent thousands of years domesticating and caring for.
See, cause when you get mad at something you're basically saying in some way shape or form I could do better. Whether you actually believe in that or not that's always what you imply when you get angry. So by then creating an issue out of something so commonplace, reoccurring, familiar, they get to feel this inflated sense of importance all the time, even if they know it's not real.

as someone who is not at all a fan of dogs, suddenly I feel 100% more sane. These people really just sound like they don’t have the patience to care for any animal, not just dogs.
like i get disliking an animal, but it’s honestly pathetic to hate on everyone who cares about one of those animals.
i got into an argument once with one of these guys (not a good idea to begin with i know) and he was convinced we were "discriminating" against him for not liking dogs instead of just, yknow, saying he wanted to kill all dogs... theyre really delusional.
These ppl arent just not a fan I would imagine alot of them have had very negative experiences with dogs, probably traumatic.
I don't think I have the patience to care for an animal so I don't get a pet. Problem solved. I think spending a lot of time in a discussion group to rant about something you hate that has very little impact on your life is kind of pathetic.

Jack, I don't know how to tell you this, every subreddit is an echo chamber.
Yeah, I don’t know if that man ever goes on Reddit; if something isn’t an echo chamber, it eventually will be.

I feel like a scientist crouching in the bushes and observing a rabid pack of wolves (a comparison I'm sure all these people would love.)
On the one hand, it was so disappointing to briefly think I had found a supportive community who understood dog trauma, only for it to actually be a complete shitshow.

@@salamantics I was saying that it’s pretty comparable, just with dogs instead of people, I should’ve probably made it clearer now that I think of it.
Fax, no bad dogs, only bad owners.
Yeah, like I don't want my dog getting fleas from someone's dog who is just running around with no supervision. My dog almost got bit a few months ago. He was on a leash, this other dog was not. Pissed me off.
As a dog owner, I completely agree. Bad dogs are the result of bad owners, which are unfortunately way too common.

Hating a website for a very specific part you have to go out of your way to visit seems kind of silly to me.
It's a lost cause, even circlejerks and support groups are a different flavor of this kind of "high brow" low brow talk

Listen, I like pets, but I'd pick my brother over the family dog if we still had one... _(Though sometimes, he makes good arguments for the opposite)_

3:31 I'm pretty sure the domestication of dogs predates the modern concept of houses by thousands of years.

I remember when Markiplier went through this subreddit a few years ago, and back then, it seemed like this subreddit had a lot more common ground where a lot of it was calling out bad owners and dog worship. They even invited people who like dogs to join in as long as they're respectful.
Now it looks like its been so incredibly gatekept that no one can have an opinion unless it's, "all dogs must die."
Kind of a shame. I love dogs, but i also appreciate people calling out bad owners.

Bad dog owners are everywhere unfortunately. It's a shame.

REAL! Dogs are animals, they cannot comprehend morality! If a dog bites you it's not because it's a fundamentally evil creature, it's because it's an animal. They're domestic animals that rely on humans to train them! I feel like the problem of viewing dogs as having a moral compass both breeds folks who think dogs are morally evil and bad dog owners who let their dogs run around off leash.

same actually, got bit as a child after our family dog died.
My neighbour's dog was super friendly and well behaved but one time for seemingly no reason she ran out the door and bit a guy just walking down the street. He didn't get injured and didn't press charges and that dog lived out her life never doing anything like that again. Even a well trained dog can cause harm and so they should be leashed.
Yeah, a dog owner who keeps their aggressive dog away from other dogs shouldn't have to worry about a random off-leashed dog randomly showing up

About a month ago I watched someone's ratty little toy poodle piss in the cold aisle of the grocery store. And if they're not in a cart, they're sniffing things on the shelves and once again getting their allergens all over them (more than once I've seen dogs straight up lick things on the shelves)
There's a nice lady who brings her ACTUAL service dog to the coffee shop all the time, and the dog is adorable and I love her from a distance (her name is Biscuit and she is a golden retriever who is missing her tail and all the regulars say hi to her when she shows up 🥰).

@@0dWHOHWb0unless you life in a third world country your country probably has a law for disability rights that includes that

Is it fine that some people don't like dogs? Yes. Are dogs for everyone? No.
That being said - therapy. I think a lot of these people could benefit from therapy.
It doesn't always work.
Honestly i can see the reasoning behind some of these posts, i like dogs but for someone who doesnt i can see why itd be bad to have someone just let their dog run wild while using “its friendly!” as an excuse, but then those reasonable posts get buried under a mountain of extremist shit
Ah yes, because wanting to have a space to vent about something to people who dislike the things you dislike is totally wrong
Because everyone can afford therapy.
@@Door227 Well I feel that way about kids and everyone calls me names for it so I will call those people names for feeling that way about dogs.
Dogs saved me from depression. I understand having cynophobia, that’s something I can respect but I’ll never understand this hatred for dogs.
This subreddit actually reminds me of a friend I used to have who got incredibly frustrated when I talked about dogs. Like I once talked about how my dog’s breed (English Springer Spaniel) couldn’t resist getting dirty and once when I showered him my bathroom was covered in sand and mud, they said, barely half joking: “I’d rather have a cat that brings in dead rats than have to shower that dog”
Also I asked them if they were afraid of dogs
“No, I just don’t like them, they’re so scary”
“So you’re afraid of them?”
“No I just find them scary.”
Also they once argued with me that it wasn’t that weird of Britain to ban Pitbulls
But this is just weird, dogs are the most important to me and I can’t understand why they get mad at someone for wanting to have someone to take care of.
Please call us this "slur". Its really funny
@@genericname2747 you know what, I will. You mutton chops are all the same!

Also, unless it's a service animal, you really shouldn't bring your dog into the grocery store. Some people are allergic, some people are scared, or maybe there isn't enough room in the aisle. Or worse, the dog could shed and it fly onto open food like the produce.
Same with kids NGL.
I used to work in a kindergarten, but that doesn't mean I need your random kid's drool on me in public.
I mean it's the same thing with cows, sheep and goats, so
@@Zyrdrakyll Nearly, but not the same
@@Zyrdrakyll except its not. sheep cows and goats were meant to live outside the home, were meant to be docile and were domesticated much later than dogs.
I don't like dogs all that much either but these people act like dogs exist only to spite them personally LMAO
also I don't get the hatred for pitbulls. they are like the sweetest dogs ever.
