Just because cats aren't as excitable as dogs (which I perfer) doesn't mean that they don't show affection. Anytime I walked into my parents house their cat would run to the front door to say hi and rub on my leg, it was the sweetest thing. Regardless of what your experiences are with dogs or cats you can't say that either animal is incapable of showing affection.
A person is lying to themselves if they claim that cats don't show affection. It's pretty obvious that they do, it's just different and they're not energetic about it like dogs. Personally I cannot stand the overly energetic behavior that many dogs tend to have. I find it instantly *VERY* aggravating, to say the least. Dogs don't seem to understand personal boundaries, and owners frequently don't try to do anything to control them. To me that's not acceptable.
True. I've also read about a cat who tracked down its owner after she was moved to a nursing home. And a cat that woke its owner to warn them of a burgler. Cats do care.

I love both dogs and cats. And as someone that is unbiased i can absolutely say there are a lot more people hating cats especially dog lovers.
I don't know anyone who's specifically gone out of their way to hate cats. I think what you do find is just how much more common it is for people to say they dislike them. I don't like most cats but one of my favorite pets was a cat. The thing about dog haters is that they want to see dogs and their owners live in the same misery that they are living in. Like it legit pisses people off to see other people happy with their dog and to me that's just sick. Like psychotic
@@FHSBlackSwarm But lots of dog "nutters" (people loving dogs a tad bit too much) literally run pet cats over on the streets, and go out of their way to poison them. My own cat died this way. Saw her getting hit a toy by a motorcycle, which didn't stop by the way. As someone who doesn't really like dogs, i'd never go out of my way to harm someone's pet for fun. But guess what cat haters do? Ruin it. They kill our pets for fun, or torture them in ways that you can't even imagine. We really aren't the psychotic ones.

I know that people poison animals to get revenge on others because they are sick cowards but I wouldn't say that doing that is because they love dogs, I think those people are just sick. I will avoid hitting an already dead animal on the road and have even if it caused me to have an accident. I love a dog a bit much too. My dog though. I don't love everyone's dog

They bring the dogs to libraries, restaurants and even fricking movie theatres and seem to not hold them back when they go near other people irrespective of whether the person likes the dog being near them. I wouldn't want to either. My dog would hate it. I have issues bringing him into a corner store and so I'm unsure where you live, that doesn't happen in my part of the United States. I don't hate dogs but I find most of them annoying and overrated. Dog culture is not for me, people get upset when I don't get enthusiastic about their dogs. I just want someplace to vent sometimes. Like telling someone to leash their dog shouldn't get you attacked, there are so many terrible owners out there.
I don't love dogs, I don't understand wanting to own one because I myself don't think I'm responsible enough to own one and I prefer cats. BUT that doesn't mean I'm gonna go out of my way to shit on people for owning dogs just because I personally don't understand it.
The sub is for people that wouldn't otherwise be able to safely express themselves. We post news articles about dog attacks or vent about our neighbor's dogs barking nonstop, etc. It's the one place we can go without being treated like demons just because we don't worship dogs. The memes and stuff aren't even in this sub(at least haven't been since I joined).

So my dog was next to me just chilling and the ending video of Chica plays. She doesn't have a reaction at all until Chica barks and my dog, Zoey, her head pops up. So I turn the screen to her and she looked at it and I replay it for her and she just tilts her head back and forth watching Chica and it was just the cutest thing I ever saw. I replayed it like 10 times and she was just so into it. XD
I wish my did would recognize things like that but I think he as a standard poodle, may be too intelligent as to where he recognizes that it is not a "real"did and disregards it.
I don't mind dogs if they don't interact with me. The audacity of the owners on the other hand baffles me. I'm germaphobic, letting your dog come to me and lick me isn't going to change that, it's going to make me panic. Your dog jumping on people isn't cute, it's problematic. Real life situation - I broke my leg, had surgery which resulted in a 10 inch wound, I went to a shop and as I was coming back a golden retriever jumped up on me, it hurt so bad but the owner saw no problem with that. I had to go to the hospital, because it was bleeding so much. Accept that your dog isn't perfect and keep it on a leash, is that too much to ask for?

Cat owner here. Can attest to the fact that cats also can be absolute dickbags if they aren't raised properly.
But they can also become the most sociable cuddly clingy creatures you have ever put your eyes on.
I love dogs, but I am a lazy person, and I find that cats generally take care of themselves more than dogs do. So owning a cat is more for me.
fr! my birther’s cat hates being touched, hisses if someone walks by, attacks people, but my cats all are incredibly sweet and cuddly. One even used to be a feral! He had to be handled with gloves and towels for awhile. Now he wouldn’t hurt a fly, and is constantly lying on laps or following me around purring. Every animal takes time and love

I by no means hate dogs, but like you said, I cannot stand people who fake service animals. I live in California, and by law only service animals are permitted inside restaurants. I've worked in a couple different restaurants for a few years now, and literally 95% of the dogs that people bring in with their little vests that they insist are service animals are obviously not. Dogs that run around sniffing people and begging for food, or getting super distracted or even barking. Everyone knows that a service dog isn't a chihuahua trying to jump out of its baby stroller. Everyone knows that you don't sit with your service animal on your lap at the table while you feed it scraps. People get so outraged and entitled about being able to bring their pet into a restaurant. It baffles me, not everyone wants to eat a nice dinner while your dog is next to them in a table level stroller sniffing and begging, some people are allergic, and can't take the fur or dander, and I personally am scared of dogs I'm not familiar with. I always get nervous approaching people with large dogs because I've been bitten before and they always come running at me because I'm carrying food. I hate it

And it’s so harmful to those of us who are actual service teams, who need our dog (who qualifies legally as medical equipment).
Being a service team is hard in the best of circumstances. But the amount of times that people accuse me of faking because people do this crap or try to “out” my “fake disability” by trying to provoke my dog into bad behavior is increasing with time because other people can’t respect that disabled people are deserving of accommodations that help them, and they are not entitled to have their buddy with them just because we have highly trained service animals and they happen to like dogs.
I love dogs but I absolutely hate it when people bring their animals into restaurants and stores. It shouldn't be allowed. People really can't just leave them home? We left our pets home all the time and they were fine.

Yeah, depending on the service they provide, they may alert or scan in different ways. My guy blocks people from getting too close to me because most days that I go out I have to deal with at least one case of someone chasing or harassing me for medical information.
The rules that apply to service dogs are, in order of importance:
1) NEVER EVER EVER EVER shows any sign of aggression
2) no urinating or defecating except when given direction from their handler
3) performs and focuses on their service, without disrupting their environment (in the case of a restaurant, they must sit out of the way, not eat, and not engage people or other dogs). Mine is a black lab mix and he loves work, so his tail is always wagging, and thus a lot of people tell me, “he’s wagging his tail he wants to see me/my kid/etc” but he can’t respond to them, even when they do the fly by tail pull
4) no barking (except if it’s an alert), startle responses should generally focus on handler protection quickly/should be mild (this is why our training includes fire stations, malls, and in our case, a day program with EMS in tow and wheelchairs that bump paws, etc)
5) calm, focused, disciplined demeanor
Those are the basics of what we’re taught to ensure is trained before they have public access, and it’s pretty easy to spot a fake.
It's because the opposite of r/dogfree aka people obsessed about dogs and assuming anyone who doesn't is evil/crazy is socially acceptable. It comes from the frustration of the neighbors dogs barking non-stop, random dogs with their dumb owners who don't leash them chasing you or even climbing up to you and dirtying your clothes. It comes from people just letting their dogs close to anyone because they assume everyone wants and loves their dog and then get offended when some people want nothing to do with them. Why can't people just dislike dogs? Honestly the reaction people show to this small subreddit just shows how obsessed society is with dogs. I don't even have reddit but I took a look at the page and this is just....dumb.
And before you say "you hate dogs" I don't like them. I don't want them jumping on me and I don't want to pet your dog or put up with it barking. I just don't find them cute and if you want to take that personally that's on you.
@@Psychedelicgothicpink Some people have a phobia of dogs. Dogs kill 30000 people globally a year and 4.5 million people get bitten by dogs each year in the US alone. I have been attacked by 3 unleashed dogs on separate occasions as a kid and have been scared of them ever since. They're literally descendants of wolves, the big ones can be scary, and a few of them dangerous.

As reiterated several times in the video, it is FINE to not like dogs - the problem with this subreddit is that it makes a lot of inaccurate and harmful generalizations about dogs and dog owners in general. I don't like dogs either but some of the behavior in this subreddit is absolutely disgusting.

I have PTSD and my dog isn’t a service dog or a therapy dog. I don’t take him out in public with me, but when I’m having a panic attack or even just a bad day, he comes and let’s me hold him while I cry. He’s seen me at my worst and chose to sit with me over playing with his toys or eating food and that is why I love my dog. That’s why I say he’s my best friend.
That being said, growing up, I had a sibling who was very afraid of dogs and still kind of is to this day. They don’t seem to mind my dog because he’s small and quiet, but I would never judge them even if they didn’t like my own dog because what matters it that /I/ love my dog and I’m happy to say he’s mine.

The reason some dog lovers hate cats is because they treat cats as if they would treat a dog. But cats are so different from dogs that treating them like they're the same animal will never work.
Cats are basically the introverted friend that prefer to chill rather than play all the time, but will still enjoy the company of a hooman. Doggos are the extroverted buds, extremely friendly and ready and excited to do anything. Both of them however, will always enjoy a good head scritch.
EDIT: there will always be exceptions to this. some dogs like to just chill all the time, and some cats like to play fetch. it's a good idea to do research on any kind of animal! That way misconceptions and judgement can be mitigated.

Minature horses are used as service animals along with dogs, they are the only other animal allowed to be certified if no allergies exist. They are the animal that is provided for no cost compared to a service dog which is sold at age 2 around 2,000-15,000$
Mini horses also live longer and are for a certain kind of people! Their bci ranges around the same as a large canine. Mini horses are great service animals! I posted this to spread the love for our large herbivore dog babies. 💕

I’ve never encountered a service team that didn’t have to pay anything for training, unless they qualified for a non-profit sponsorship through an arduous application process. Mini-horses still cost money to breed, raise, and train and idk how that would just be provided.
Depends on the organisation providing the service dog on the cost. Guide Dogs charge new owners a fee of fifty pence because thy aren't legally allowed to just give the dog to them for no cost They are then provided for by the organisation with food and other care costs. This makes it so that the financial status of a partially sighted or blind person doesn't prevent them from getting the assistance from a dog that will allow them to live a better quality of life. :) Just thought i'd add that for anyone interested. It's awesome that miniature horses are able to service people when trained too! I bet it gets annoying for the owner sometimes though, since the public would likely interact with a working horse quite a bit as it's not something that's seen often.
I've handled Miniature horses for children with down syndrome and it's called equestrian therapy and is very good for what it is

As someone who as been attacked by two pitbulls, if treated right they are the most caring animals in the world. The first dog? Got fed meth instead of food half the time. I was 4 and went “ooo puppy” and got attacked. The second? I was jumping around and accidentally slapped it cause I was waving my arms around. My fault, not the dogs. They were defending themselves and they didn’t attempt to rip my arm off, it was a warning bite that was to close so it snagged just under my eye.
You know what a pitbull also did to me? Protected and loved me. My family’s own pitbull from when I was 4 would take care and watch me and make sure I wasn’t hurt. When we had difficulty cleaning wounds from the first attack she would attempt to clean it for me. When I lost a toy she would go out and either find that toy or find another. Kosher was a second mother to me and would never hurt me or anyone else.
Pitbulls were nanny dogs, they would protect children with their life. It’s not their fault abusive assholes chose to target that breed for cage fighting. It’s not their fault they are some of the commonly mistreated dogs in the world.

Hell, my housemate has 2 dogs and I tolerate them because I have to. But I will not by any means let those dogs think Im gonna let them get away with any bullshit. They know not to beg from me because I wont share my food, and Im not putting up with any loud-ass barking. Im not mean with them, I just have boundaries.
If anything living with these dogs has made me realize that I don't like dogs as much as I thought I had, and I'm glad I know now rather than down the line if I had adopted a dog and then regretted it later.

I'm right there with you. My sig. other and I owned dogs and cats until recently. Both dogs have since passed and we will not be getting another. We decided to stick strictly to cats from now on.
Granted you treat a cat well and respect their boundaries (cats tend to be assholes TO assholes), they are far superior pets in most ways. They're cleaner, quieter and don't reek, affectionate without going overboard with it, less destructive and have an independent streak that keeps them from getting in your face 24/7. Some people however like that quality in dogs; the neediness, clinginess and subservience. I think dog owners who hate cats resent the fact they cannot exert complete control over a cat; as if animals only exists to cater to THEIR needs.

Also one of my neighbors used to put dog traps to the woods next to my house, basically wooden planks with spikes or nails up or small holes with spikes and I almost hurt myself in one. Sooo many people go online and buy these service dog vests and are like “yeah my service dog is registered” or “my service dog is certified” LIKE HONEY THERE IS NO SUCH THING. I’ve had sooo many dogs lunge and bark at my service dog IN WALMART, which is NOT pet friendly. Each of these dogs have a vest on that says “service dog” and are in the freaking shopping cart. Which is illegal. They then proceed to show everyone their dogs “certification” (which again, is not real) and just keep on going. Anyways I’m babbling. It’s just so common now for people to fake service dogs just to bring their dog everywhere, and it makes real service dog handlers suffer a great deal! So thanks for bringing some attention to that❤️
Completely true. Had a guy come in to the cinema where I work with a "service dog." It had the vest and all that and the guy INSISTED he needed this dog. The dog proceeded to poop all up and down the isles in the theatre, then when we asked the guy to clean it up, he just smeared it into the carpet. We cleaned and sprayed air freshener multiple times but it reeked in that specific theatre for quite some time.

I love real service dogs, and am adamant about leaving them and their owners be (so many people see a dog and decide they NEED to pet it, it's a service dog, lad, back the hell off). You have a ton of people constantly trying to pet them, asking you questions, being incredibly rude, kicking you out, staring at you (like 24/7 ppl r staring) and it’s just crazy tbh. I honestly hate that part of it. So I’d just be careful lol. If you need one (not for emotional support they have to perform tasks for a disability) then I’d research the laws! Look dude, I’m sorry, but not only have I nearly had my spine mauled out by a pit bull, had my ear torn off by a GS, had ny breast bitten so hard by a golden retriever that I lost feeling in it and been dragged down the street by my leg by some pit mix, I’ve also lost two newborn foals, an elderly mare, an 18 year old toothless cat, a border collie, a miniature horse and five chickens to pits or loose and untrained dogs. I’m one of the people who doesn’t like dogs. I’d never hurt one unless it was currently killing either a person or one of my animals, but I do not like dogs simply for everything they’ve put me through. Too many bad apples spoiled the barrel.

aww hahah, that almost sounds like my other dog. She's a lot more tolerant and would either silently walk away, or let out a *really* audible sigh and lay her head down in defeat.

True. That's a good statement. But you honestly can't compare a child bite to a canine bite. Flat teeth vs Strong sharp teeth. People can die by getting bit by a dog. Never heard of someone being killed bit by a child. Can't compare the two even though morally speaking that quote is a good one.
@@flashkirby101 no you cant compare them, since killing someone and biting someone are not the same thing either and death is not a proportional punishment for 1 mistake. its just a jab at people who think raising a child is the hardest thing ever and constantly talk about how hard it is.
People have died from being bitten by someone, but granted it's from an infection caused by the bite.

(Even though this is an older vid) I don't like dogs as much as cats but I 100% agree with pretty much everything mark is saying. I am pretty sure you can (but shouldn't) apply just as many stereotypes to dogs as to humans or as to cats, but the fact is they are dumb biased and have no basses to go off of. If anyone of them probably did an ounce of research about how humans are stupid and do stupid things to there pets like how a bad parent can influence a bad kid the same goes for pets. Furthermore, that's why a lot of people call their pets their baby's or kids because the influence is just about the same.

Ofc dogs fanboy. Dogs are fourth most dangerous animal in the world for a reason. Subreddit want to vent about predators that live in our society and can snap at any moment no matter how well trained. That's great reason to hate those things

17:50 my grandma would do this too, shed let her dog literally drink her spit because her crazy ass thought "if i do that, shell think im her mom and never run away." So it just became a daily thing, even after shed ran away a few times.

I also had a sweet pea named coco, she was a pitbull as well. She was very happy and loving and always wanted to say hi to everyone. Which sucks, because everyone thought she was trying to attack them.

I have two pit bulls. One is legit laying on me and licking my hand right now. The other one is at the end of the bed taking a nap. Sure, Bentley (the one licking me) can pull me and jump up, but he wants attention and isn’t gonna bite. Honestly, he loves me and isn’t good with new people. Neither of them are, but they just hide from the person instead of attacking. It depends on how you raise them.
