    Azzy had her whole identity practically stolen by SSSniperWolf, but yet when seeing Jack criticize the woman who stole so much from her, she found a way to apply that to her own content and do better. That's maturity. It's easy to not acknowledge your faults when they're being pointed out in other people and not yourself. But she didn't. Serious: I have Ehler Danlos hypermobility syndrome, and it went undiagnosed until my mid 30s. I'm almost 40 and getting arthoscopies on both hips already, one next month. My parents ignored my "double jointedness" during the 80s and 90s and I did splits as a trick and in other situations so often that my hips subluxed and caused horrible labral tears. And those are just one joint. I routinely dislocate in my shoulders and knees. It's ROUGH and I can't personally live the most normal of lives in my case. It lasted into adulthood and I was like “No it ain’t!” So I went to another specialist and she told me to touch my thumb to my wrist and pulled my skin and that was pretty much it before she told me. I’m still pretty peeved at that doctor from my childhood even though it’s been over 10 years lmao. Mine isn’t as extreme as others, but it does still cause issues and I have to be careful with how much or how far I stretch or I end up in a lot of pain.

  • @6thwilbury2331

    Jack's advice to always shout out the original video creator reminds me of something from my high school days. Back in the 80s, there were stickers that said "WHEN YOU PLAY IT, SAY IT!" or similar attached to the record sleeves/jackets that went to radio stations. Or such a message might be on a sign on the wall. These were reminders to the on-air personalities to credit the artists and titles of songs so that listeners could head to the stores knowing what to buy.
    As I understand it, these reminders were a response to a trend for many stations to play long, uninterrupted stretches of music. (And as a kid who recorded the radio broadcasts to get the popular music, you always hoped you'd hit the record button right in time to capture one of these music sweeps.) Remember: there was no Shazam back then, so if a relatively new track when uncredited, listeners could not easily find out what they had just heard. They had to wait and wait before they knew what to browse for at the local Tower Records. Those stickers were effectively the record companies to tell the station managers and PDs, "Hey, help a brother out one time."
    I'd love for some TikTok or RUclips creator to recreate that old sticker and flash it on their videos. Not only would it be an inside joke to us old farts who remember those labels, but they would nudge all commentary/react channels - ranging from the good ones like Noel, Cody and Leon to the shitty ones like SSSniperWolf and xQc - to give the originators some love.

    3: she links the creators of the videos, which many wouldn't because they want people to watch THEIR videos for more money instead of watching the original creators

    My favourite thing is that Azzy is OBVIOUSLY extremely nervous, extremely embarrassed.
    Change and growth are NOT easy things to achieve, it REQUIRES being uncomfortable, it requires asking others to check your progress, it requires humility.
    You can be embarrassed and nervous, because the most important thing is that you consider those things a part of the growing process. The important thing is growing.
    Also it's SO sweet that she's obviously also a starstruck fan 😂😂

    This is a little weird.
    Like, I know jack is offering great advice on how to make reaction content that gives more than a basic AF reaction vid; but I can't help shake off the vibe of "Don't react like that, react like this."
    Sometimes I want to see someone's genuine reaction, having them worry about making everything as transformative as possible feels like it would affect some people's ability to react genuinely.
    Like I like watching people react to doctor Who episodes, seeing their emotional response, seeing them stunned, barely moving, and just completely sucked into the scene.
    That would be "bad reacting" to the standards jack is trying to teach, a "nothingburger"
    But to me, It's seeing and connecting to someone who's had a very similar reaction to how I reacted when I first saw it.
    Like a big twist happens in the episode, they react with a gobsmacked look and silence reacting for a solid minute as the scene plays out; I am pissing myself laughing because that is exactly how i reacted when i first saw it, and I love seeing someone enthralled with the content rather than talking all over the scene, trying to be loud and provide commentary, when I was there for the reaction on their face, and what they say to themself.

    • @Bee..
      @Bee.. 2 месяца назад +10

      I think it’s different when we’re talking about episode reactions and TikToks, though. With things like what you’re talking about, part of the journey is watching someone experience a thing you love. It’s social, a shared experience, and them experiencing that thing IS the “action” you’re there to see. For these sorts of videos, however, they already have very little substance, and the reactions are generally just a way to get around being copyright claimed for presenting the compilation, or to bring in viewers. The reaction isn’t the point of the content, if that makes sense. I agree that Jack’s format is pretty restrictive for organic commentary, but I see what it’s trying to do, and I think it’s a good thing to keep in mind for that second group of reactors. Think about it like the difference between someone summarizing something or analyzing it (cliff notes, spark notes) vs plagiarizing it (ripping someone’s journal article on hamlet for a high school English assignment). For one, retelling the story is the point, for the other they’re using the retelling as a shortcut for personal gain.

    • @sooahnim
      @sooahnim 2 месяца назад +6

      Yeah, I think the difference is the type of content they're reacting to. Of course organic reaction is important when it comes to music, and TV shows and movies/movie clips, but when it comes to tiktoks and quick bite sized content, it can become repetitive if the only thing you have to add to a video is "wow thats crazy" over and over again.
      Azzy was looking for constructive criticism and change her content, I think that's important to consider!

    Okay, but legitimately, science reactions is an entirely valid approach! It's something she knows a lot about that most people don't, so it's something she can contribute as actual commentary. It's also edutainment, and the world needs more education! Dr. Mike often does medical reaction content like that (among his other stuff), and it's great and informative. A more general science theme would fill a broader niche.
    If Azzy wanted to pivot her channel to focus on reacting to scientifically-relevant clips, while she commentates on the science involved, I'd 100% watch that! Important reminder that reactions and commentary don't have to be filmed in one take: you can film your initial reaction, pause, do some research if needed, and then come back to the recording with as much info as you feel like adding and discussing 😊 It's also a great way to get audience engagement, as you can ask them to join in the discussion with you, ask questions, etc.
    (Of course, I'm a science nerd who spent the first half of my university education majoring in biomed, so... I'm biased towards scientists, always.)
