Biggest moment of respect I ever got from Eddie Vedder was the time I delivered pizza to his house and got a shitty tip. See, he was out of town but his kids and their friends wanted pizza so they and their friends ordered. They were literally pulling coins out of their pockets to try to scrounge up a dollar to tip me and they seemed to feel bad that they hadn't done the math right figuring in tax for what they ordered vs the cash they had on hand. That is good parenting. They didn't have a magic credit card or stacks of cash available to them even though they are rich as fuck. I took those 4 quarters in tip and walked away feeling that Eddie is a responsible parent, and that is a good thing.
Wait a sec. What teenager is smart enough to be left alone and too dumb to figure out how much a pizza is going to cost. Or ask when they order. Ed should smack that kid upside the head. C'mon Ed.
I've heard these songs a million times and they can still give me goosebumps and tears. Such raw talent! Such meaningful and intelligent lyrics. Such depth!
Still my favorite Pearl Jam tune after all these years. In case no body else mentioned it, Eddie always described this as a love song to his surf board.
I agree, not trying to take away nirvanas success but a lot of their legend came once kurt diet. If kurt lived I camt imagine theyd be held in the same regard. When.i think of rock in the 90s I think of pearl jam.
@@robertayala82 that is right! I do believe Layne had an outstanding voice, but Jerry was also not only an amazing sincer and sounded great with Layne, but also a very talented lyricist
This is the song my wife walked down the isle to at our wedding. We had a friend read the lyrics to those attending to start the ceremony and then the music started:)
He's one of those singers that has a very unique voice so as soon as you hear it, even if you haven't heard a certain song, you automatically know who it is.
I’ve loved Pearl Jam for almost 30 years and watching you react to their videos brings so much joy to me, thank you! It’s like I’m falling in love with their music again from your perspective. Thanks again
This performance is flawless..such an underrated song on their first album. I would recommend do State of Love and Trust unplugged. They go into that song right after oceans. It’s one of the most raw and passionate versions of that song live I’ve ever heard. Hope to see you post here soon man! I think you’ll catch yourself listening to it more often than not after you hear it
Obviously you have massive knowledge of Musical genius amd You nailed it when You gave Your opinion on how Eddie sings pure from his Soul! I have seen them now over 10 times in different settings and venues. They are one of the greatest American Live Rock Bands ever. Thanks for Your vids/content
He usually stays within his sweet spot when it comes to range, but this song showcases that his range far exceeds that sweet spot. Love this song. You may as well just do the whole session. You're probably halfway there anyway. When you finish PJ do yourself a favor and check out the Unplugged sessions for Nirvana, Alice in Chains and StoneTemple Pilots as well. We were really fortunate in the 90s.
I legit squealed with excitement a little bit when I saw "Oceans" and clicked on this so quickly but lol your tv... as an edit: came across [HD] Pearl Jam - Release (Live Holland 1992) and it's just... *chef's kiss*
I remember watching this when it came out..i would stand as close to the tv as i could get and was completely mesmerized..i watched it again and again..music history ❤ legends
Vocally there is so much that can go wrong in the vocals in this song but Eddie hits and holds every note on point and at the right time. Just pure talent and primo execution.
Pearl Jam - Porch, Release, Indifference Oh hell every song lol A whole album reaction would be awesome Yes Pearl Jam is pure magic PJ and Staind saved my life and still continue to help me keep moving forward
The whole MTV Unplugged performance is amazing. I suggest watching it on any free time you get. Pearl Jam, and Alice in Chains performances are both 2 of my favorite performances
You should absolutely react to more MTV Unplugged performances! I remember some amazing renditions and song covers coming out of those. Korn Unplugged was one of my favorites, especially their cover of Radiohead’s “Creep”.
iT'S AMAZING SEEING SOMEONE ELSE, SOMEONE i HAVE FAIRLY LITTLE IN COMMON WITH, DIFFERENT LIVES, POINTS OF VIEW, ECT. yET THEY HAVE PRETTY MUCH THE SAME REACTION TO MUSIC THAT i DID 20 YEARS AGO.
Eddie Vedders voice was just amazing! My all time fave band is Pearl Jam. I remember watching the this when it 1st aired on MTV! 😱😱😱 OMG I am soo old.... 🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭
That "feeling the music" you're describing is a VERY rare thing these days. There's a few singers, but it just doesnt exist. It's all social media, clout and money now.
Yess! I really appreciate you uploading PJ songs!...State of love from this unplugged, RELEASE ME Live version Holland 1991 is an experience, Corduroy, betterman, Hail hail, garden, please do more pearl jam reactions!!!
And we got some straight up porn action going on over your right shoulder on the TV at 0:37 Yeah! LOL!!! (Oh, I see...it's the Netflix movie Dirt! lol)
Watching people discovering Pearl Jam is one of my favorite things.
Totally agreed
Sorry for the accidental down vote, I was trying to hit 'reply' and hit the wrong button. Reversed and up voted now
Oh, I was gonna say "we're also discovering Alex's taste in TV"
Same same
It’s great.

Eddie Vedder has the voice of a generation. I know Kurt (RIP) is the poster boy for grunge, but Eddie's voice is secondary to none.

The smile as soon as Eddie starts singing. Everybody’s reaction right there
True, i didn't even notice i had a sappy af smile on my face until halfway through the video.
The electric guitar version of this song is on Pearl Jam's debut album, called Ten. One of those albums that's just amazing all the way through.
Check out his song 'Indifference'. The lyrics are incredible!
You seem to be a good guy and a good friend! You engage with the stuff. I like you! Keep smiling. Big hugs from Portugal
