I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star in somebody else's sky but why, why, why can't it be, can't it be mine? I love that line.
Yes! I think that's a sentiment that doesn't get expressed enough in "love" songs. Wanting what's best for someone often means being unselfish and realizing that if you aren't good for each other, you shouldn't be together... even if you still really love them. The only other time I've heard this is from the band Blue October in their songs Hate Me and I Hope You're Happy.
Me too bro !!!! My favorite line in one of my favorite songs!!! I'm 40 yrs old, been rocking with Pearl Jam since day 1 & like most of their songs , I can listen to them over & over & over again & it never gets old , I get these feelings and reactions every single time!!! THAT'S WHAT REAL MUSIC IS SUPPOSED TO DO & THEY DO IT FOR SURE !!!
I swear I get emotional every time I watch this performance and I can't get enough of people reacting to it. Thanks for the reaction guys, glad you loved it.
I agree the MTV unplugged concerts were/are amazing! Even towards the end of MTV I would still tune in to see them. Even bought a few on the unplugged CDs.. Pearl jam, Nirvana, Alice in chains, Stone temple pilots, and Live were/are amazing. I still watch them every so often.
Eddie's poetic lyrics set to Stone Gossard's brilliant arrangement. I know some day you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star, in somebody else's sky But why, why, why can't it be, can't it be mine?
I love watching people watch this performance for the first time. It's difficult not to fan girl Eddie Vedder. Such a kind, beautiful man. Not to mention incredibly talented.
I watched these two young girls react to Pearl Jam about 6 months ago. And Ive watched numerous other reaction videos about Black. These girls are the only ones that paid attention to the lyrics, not just Eddies voice.
Such a tragic song. I heard it many times then I actually read lyrics. Such a beautifully written song of a man’s heartbreak. As you know men don’t really express ourselves with a lost love.
Mtv unplugged .. .nirvana " where did you sleep last night" alice in chains "nutshell" ..stone temple pilots "plush"...the 90's really was a great decade for bands like pearl jam ,nirvana etc etc x !! And mtv unplugged was an amazing stage to watch them shine
Eddie has said he meant and felt every word of this song when he sang it back then. I was fortunate to see Pearl Jam three times. Twice back in the early '90s and once in 2013. Amazing every time. Great reaction girls!
I’ve watched about 6 different reactions to this performance, and yours was by far my favorite. It was very interesting and cool to see a couple young ladies from an entirely different generation get the chills from Eddies voice. Loved watching that!!
Do you feel it? Do you feel Eddie? That's the reason why Rock is life, it's meant to be: it's lyrics, power, tempo, riff, distortion, screams… = Feelings!
Incredible heartbreaking song, unique performance, the drums are mindblowing. Love this unplugged so much. Great reaction ladies, hugs and lots of love from Argentina 🇦🇷 Mia and Juliet 😀✌🏻 Pd: when he say " I know someday you have a beautiful life , I know you'll be a star in somebody else sky but why It cannot be mine ..." its so emotional 😭
Finally!! What are these drops of water coming from my eyes?? Loved how Mia took centre stage in this review. Great job! So happy you did this incredible band. Also unplugged... Nirvana, Where did you sleep last night? or Alice in Chains Would. Sending a thousand imaginary likes.
Subscribed! Welcome to Pearl Jam! You’ve got LOTS of great music and video to react to ! For starters and in no particular order: Jeremy (uncensored vid & unplugged) Alive Even Flow Oceans Porch Hint: half the fun of reacting to Pearl Jam is watching Eddie Vedder in action.😉
Wow. I can’t believe you guys. You are so young. But your souls seems so much older. Listening to this music and lyrics. Well you just amaze me. I haven’t heard this before unplugged but it brought me to tears. Thank you 🙏. You should take time to listen to it in its original version. Omg you are out of this world. Go on i love it
VERY well done girls !!......Pearl Jam is a POWERFUL force !!........great band , great talent !!......keep up the FANTASTIC reviews........Happy Turkey Day from Rhode Island !!
"There is no words to describe his feelings" after listening to a whole song of him describing his feelings 😂 Awesome reaction young ladies, keep them coming, thumbs up 👍
I’ve watched more than a few of these Black first time reaction videos and yours are right up there amongst the top. It’s so great to see young people recognize and appreciate true passion, emotion and talent... it made me smile, so thank you!
Sometimes, on rare occasions, music brings out the emotions that we all have. Performances such as this by Pearl Jam are one. Loved your reaction and subscribed.
Thank you ladies for actually listening to all these songs and giving them a real review. Some videos just have someone saying, hey watch me listen to this song. Wishing you more success!
i always notice people listening to this always start smiling and bobbing and then comes that moment when the smiles start fading and the bobbing stops when they realize the roller coaster their heart is about to go one
As you get older and you go thru breakups songs like this one will feel even more powerful. I'm really happy you girls enjoy true music like this and a lot other bands tho.
I remember this like it was yesterday to my senior year in HS. I was not a PJ fan but my girlfriend at the time was so I watched it with her. It was amazing how you can feel every word Eddie sang. I was blown away and have been a fan ever since. Grunge/alternative music was major part of my life after that. The songs had a lot of deep meaning. It got me thru some rough times. Glad you young ladies are discovering it. Great reaction video.
This was wonderful. I've loved Pearl Jam since I was probably around your ages! Such a great video. You're right about Eddie's voice. The passion/emotion is just unreal. 🖤
Hiiii ladies great to see you this morning never been into pearl jam really your reaction makes this interesting to me and here’s the the thing your reaction videos bring some of these tracks back from the dead if it wasn’t for you two a lot of people would never here stuff like this and your generation gets to experience a little bit of music history and diversity great work ladies All power to you Mia and Juliet
I was 21 years old when this song came out, And you 2 young ladies actually gave me a different perspective of this song. No other reaction video has ever done that before. Bravo
Thx for watching this. Reaction was great. I hear this Music (Grunge) in the 90´s when i was 14 and i am so happy to see Eddie or Kurt´s MTV Unplugged Sessions. I hope you reacting to more rare unplugged Videos;)
One of Eddie's and Pearl Jam's greatest and most emotional performances. And you girls totally got it! Seeing you enjoy this so much reminds me how much I love this music. What a great YEE of a reaction!👏👏👏
Great reaction👍One of the best "MTV unplugged" if not the best performances. Eddie Vedder kills it. You can see that he's going through that pain while singing. Glad you two finally checked it out.
Well done girls, great reaction, this is one of my all-time fav songs, and I'm lucky enough to be old enough to have seen them sing this live, in '95. Yes, it was as awesome as you can imagine, then triple it. All the best in your YT careers
The way you two reacted is the exacted way I did when I first heard Eddie sing years back! I have been a fan ever since! You two should check out Better man by pearl jam as well I see a couple people saying really good songs as well. Great reaction!
I’ve lived through 5decades of Rock and at the end of my life cycle my heart is warmed to hear young people cherish the music of my younger days! Love you girls!!!!
I grew up with 60s/70s music, many rock concerts including Stones, Clapton, ACDC, Fleetwood Mac etc. Transitioning to 80's was tough but eventually started to enjoy, but when PJ debuted in 90s I felt an excitement I hadn't felt since my teens!! Eddie Vedder's voice is a gift and thankfully we were blessed to have seen/heard it. And let's cred the band, this song rules!!👍🏽 Absolutely love you 2!! ❤❤
I never get tired of this song or Eddie's voice. Definitely enjoyed this one guys! Would love to see more Pearl Jam on here! Some other great songs are Jeremy, Even Flow, Immortality, Yellow Ledbetter, Better man, Last Kiss, State of Love and Trust.. Honestly I could go on and on. Pearl jam is one of the best.

Pearl Jam's unplugged concert was a real amazing event. And their first album, Ten, which all(?) of the songs on this concert came from is really amazing. It's nice to relive this through the eyes and ears of a new generation.
I'll forever be jealous of whoever listens to Black for the first time
same
I still have the same reaction to Black as I did the first time I heard it.
Tears everywhere.
No one gets excited like teen girls, but I still feel giddy like that at "black" unplugged.
Agreed! So happy to see so many of the younger creators showing the appreciation this song deserves.
accurate
After 30yrs of hearing this song it still gives me shivers
Everytime
Everytime even on repeat
Eddie Vedder, my oh my... he's still having the same effect on young girls... lol... I remember the feeling watching that when it first aired
True, my niece likes it.
My daughter loved him without ever getting a look at him really, just from listening in my car.
I mean, even straight dude feels the same.

"Now my bitter hands cradle broken glass of what was everything."
MTV unplugged shows were forums where artists could really show their skills. You guys could spend months just reacting to some awesome performances
Now MTV is bullshit.
100 percent! MTV unplugged are my favorite performances. One I recommend everyone listen to is Biffy Clyro MTV unplugged. You won't be disappointed.

The entire album TEN is absolutely incredible 😁🤩
For a band as big as they were at the time, to be this raw, this sincere...simply exceptional.
