I'm enjoying the search for the perfect RUclips A-roll lens. I need to be in the 26-30mm range for my set-up to work, so I'm leaning toward using the 24-70 2.8 GMii and just treating it as a 30mm prime (I have plenty of light, but I'm concerned about DoF). I know you're a big proponent of primes, and for good reason. Am I making a mistake?
Thanks for the kind words. As for the 24-70 GMii , it is an amazing lens and plenty sharp. I love mine. In the old days, a prime was significantly sharper, but not so today. But it still can’t get the blur of a f1.4. That said, you can get fantastic images from the 24-70 GMii. Good luck.
I had a Samyang 24mm years that I thought I would use on a gimbal. I used it so rarely that I can’t even remember much about it. I’m sure it would work for video just fine. Hopefully someday I can get camera companies to send me lenses for review. But for now I’m limited to what I buy. Yanks for the idea though.
