Great video explaining the difference! I ended up reshooting my short film, because it's quite dark, and V-Log just didn't work for that, so the reshoot was done in the regular "flat" profile that isn't Log, and that worked fine, as long as I didn't expect to push the colours too much in post. A few cut away shots are still the original log shots, because we didn't have time to reshoot those, and it shows when viewed on a big screen. I quite like the challenge of getting things right in camera, and just tweaking things a little in post. And 8 bit is also easier if you only have a laptop for editing.

Glad I watched this video. I don't think any mat light is in my future. So i will need to find some way to use my COB lights in confined spaces. Maybe bouncing off ceilings or walls.

1:37 are you using both diffs at once? Usually half and full stop grid cloth to choose a heavier or lighter diffusion. Great video!

The Amaran feels like a more professional light. Almost surprised it doesn't have the Aputure brand. Then again the Aputure Infinimats are 2x the price (but also 2x the wattage). Oh well.

I saw the light and wanted to try it out, but they are so unprofessional it makes me not want to buy it again. I ordered and they put my order in back or for 1 month each time a month passes. They delete comments on Instagram and don’t get back to me
