Thanks for the video, looks really good light. Would love to test it out, looks really convenient as a small travelling light to fit in a backpack. Did you measure the output with the fresnel? Can’t seem to find the datas about it. Is it much brighter with the fresnel? What about the sound fan? Would you say it is really quiet if nearby an actor ? Thanks

How dimmable are they? Not only the 100% brightness matters. The 1% is also important when you want or need to go subtle

Love your videos, man. I do not like this light, nor the 150C. For me, this is not the most practical form factor for the task. I have an Amaran P60C which has become one of my "go-to" lights, especially with the included softbox. Besides using it for various hues of white I can paint a room in a house any color, as well as anything in it, because the saturation is so crazy with this light. I've done a few pretty amazing shots with it. It can also just tint the room some if I want that, or just a tinted beam in part of the room, and everything in between. No, it won't work outside against the sun or to light a warehouse in a color by itself (I have lit part of a warehouse with it), but just as all combination wrenches basically look the same there is a reason you don't use a 3/8 wrench on a 3/4 inch bolt head. The right tool for the right job. If I were to get something to do the really heavy work that my P60C cannot do I would get the P300C. Being a panel light it does not have the issues a single-point-ish light has. It throws a nice, broad swath of light or color without a hot spot.

10:00 my first thought was I can absolutely see it immediately - it leads to much more pleasing skin tones. I shoot weddings and used to use dual ls60x. I no longer have them and have been thinking about how bad I want them back, now I can easily see getting two of these with frenels. It would elevated speeches and the reception substantially and now with this new white light, all the beautiful dresses and quality fabric will look even more beautiful, especially now that these are 80s I can take them further away but still overpower gross venue lighting. I am incredibly excited - my resolution for the next two years is to stop upgrading bodies and lenses and focus on what I have and invest in lighting.

I own 4 of these and they’re phenomenal. Def the best light of 2025 … so far.

When using your podcast mic via xlr, do you still need to add a loudlifter for the audio. Or with the Rodecaster due is not needed?

600$ for an 80 watt... between the product title and the price you can always tell when a reviewer was given the product for free.. smh...

I think that it’s too costly for the output. Makes me concerned that a 300w or 500w version would be unaffordable for most of us. I know the light quality is far superior but it’s very costly for 80w.

Did you purchase this? Or are you given it to positive spin the review. It’s over $600. And it’s VERY tiny. And as premium as it may be it’s still not enough, and not as nice as the pre prolicht Aputure lights (600d pro is much better quality all around).

I’ve owned this light for a month but I am going to stop you right at the beginning. You can’t compare an amaran 150 to an Aputure C. Right there that is disingenuous. Also it’s an expensive light and even though I bought it… I would hesitate hard to recommend to anyone. Even the mount is not great, half the time it doesn’t even accept the accessories correctly, and can jam. Please do not push this light like an influencer. Loses credibility.

Before Aputure bought Prolycht the claim was that RGBWW was all that you needed.

They will probably be announcing the 120/150 and the 300 at NAB this year. I only know that they will probably be out of my price range when they hit the market, due to the cost of new technology.

Yes, this product is limited, but a good scene can be achieved with the proper lighting adjustments. And plus this item is very portable. I plan to use two of them to expand the versatility of looks. You have to be creative and intentional with your scene to maximize the capabilities of any product. A slightly sharper image can be achived if the lens is removed. This is a good product for the cost.

What's the Amaran Ace 25c replace battery policy? Is there an option, or you just threw it in the dumpster at the end of the battery life?

And the unit on top of the other unit is their Nexus wireless receiver, which is their amazing wireless system. The Nexus system costs around $10,000 so it’s definitely not entry-level.. Sound device is really are the industry leader in production sound.
