I am glad I sold mine in Dec ‘23 for as much as I bought it for. Downsized to ZV-E1 from Amazon Warehouse, got a blinding deal and super happy now. This camera with a SmallRig cage seems to hit that sweet spot for my needs.
@@storybabble the firmware is not so bad. They have updated the menu system much like fx3 and also creator app support but what we need now is custom luts function. So if we talk about it now and let sony know that everybody needs that, sony will definitely give that.
I purchased a secondhand A7SIII last month and have not been jaded yet like the rest of the community. I started life as a Canon shooter and having "crippled" cameras has always been normal 🤣. I got a taste of the good life when I moved to the A6000 series, then the R series, and now using the A7SIII and A7IV. My biggest wish list item was in-camera LUT support, but I guess I'll keep using the Monitor+ Pro app.
Before the new update, in videography mode ,when I changed the AF from the lens to the MF ( mode in the video mode ), "PEAK" appeared with the red color that I had previously determined, and again when I changed the focus from the lens of MF to the AF mode, "PEAK" was turned off . But after the update, when I turn on "PEAK", remains in both mode ( MF and AF ) and Don't be off automaticlly in AF . where is the problem from ?
That sucks. I assumed that that was a feature you could turn off, but I looked and you are right. Hopefully they can fix that in the next update four years from now. ;)
They downgraded my a7 SIII in some ways. After the update I can’t clear all distractions from my screen while shooting, and my autofocus somehow seems worse. I no longer have any indicator of compression (XAVC-S vs XAVC-HS) on my screen while shooting either. In addition, shooting XAVC-HS no longer increases the recording time by 2x in 60p. I’m really disappointed that they decided to take away certain features that I liked. I’m all for focus breathing comp and timecode, but it feels like this update wasn’t worth it with how much I lost.
Hi Brother, Have you tried shooting PRores raw HQ with Atomos Ninja v After this new firmware update? It is not working for me. It stops recording automatically after a couple of seconds.. Only prores raw compression works. I'm totally disappointed with the new firmware. Could you please check this with your camera and let me know
@@storybabbleI Checked with Atomos and they informed me that it could be the problem with the HDMI cable that I was using. So I have ordered a Smallrig 35cm HDMI and hope that will solve this issue.

they didnt give custom luts to sony a7siii that broke my heart, talk to sony please about that, we all need that.

I did install new firmware but I am unable to activate DCI 4k from creators app. It says bluetooth malfunction error on camera. Any remedy?
I haven’t tried that yet. Still playing with the new features and resetting all of my settings. I’ll let you know if I have a problem.
