      True that. I just hope they do some updates for the A7 IV. Basic things like custom luts and 120p 4:2:2 for video mode since they already have it on S&Q for starters. And yea custom grids for free and not having to shell out extra $$$$ for such simple things

    • @EasyTigerCreative

      @@Ashen2010 honestly, that would be the perfect update for the Sony a7iv and the a7siii. that’s all I would truly need for both cameras because it’s kind of dumb that you can shoot 10 bit colour in S and Q mode, but not in regular mode for the Sony a7iv.

      I totally agree! I can understand hardware limitations that might prevent a firmware update. But, if its possible to extend the life of a camera in-turn prevents a customers from going to a competitor Sony should consider that a win just as much as selling a new camera to a customer. I shoot the A7RV now. Sony really should allow a firmware update with the additional features that the A7CR received. Lastly, with Nikon providing their customers with a huge firmware update today. TBH, I'm really jealous (as I was really close a few months ago to moving to the Z8. Now, I'm really thinking of the move this year). As for video capabilities that the A7siii (and video centric cameras) should have at a min would be; shutter angle, false color, waveform (better exposure tools), and stop crippling 4k60

    I forget where I originally watched but the a7s iii and a1 are getting updates sometime this spring. For the a7s iii its updates are a focus breathing compensation feature, IPTC, FTP workflow enhancement, C2PA format and DCI 4k 24.00p shooting format. I also bought and still have my a7s iii when it came out. Quiet happy with it and also initially surprised by the lack of updates as someone coming from using Panasonic cameras before I switched.
    Their team is starting to push the updates through. Which is a start. If enough people talk about specific features they want to see added they can take the feedback and get it done

    • @EasyTigerCreative
      @EasyTigerCreative  11 месяцев назад +1

      They do have those firmware updates coming in spring but they don’t add the stuff that they give the FX3 like they could’ve already done to be able to have our custom luts imported in camera to be able to see how the image could look, as well as the shutter angle that they’re updating to be able to do that which Panasonic cameras have, and they could easily updated to the a7siii.
      Don’t give me wrong. I truly love my camera and it’s a great beast video but the firmware updates that we could get that they already have wooden require much to update it to these cameras since the FX3 is essentially an a7siii haha
      But hopefully the more we talk about it the more they’ll realize that they should give those updates to all their cameras so that we can keep using them since they’re great cameras in today’s standards still.

  • @number1chiefROKKA
    @number1chiefROKKA 11 месяцев назад +3

    Honestly, this disparity in treatment of the A1 and the a7s iii to the fx3 is egregious and disrespectful. Sony knows it and they do not care. As you stated, the FX3 and a7s iii are virtually the same camera and the firmware updates that the FX3 got could have easily been passed to the a7s iii months later. They refuse and we are still loyal. Had I known that the fx3 was going to come out I would have bought that instead because I only use the a7s iii for video. I shoot pics with Canon. But I didn’t know. Then I assumed, just like A1 buyers, that since we had flagship/high-end (and highest priced) cameras, that Sony was going to update us at least liberally - if not often. Sucks to be me, cuz I was completely wrong. To be fair I love the camera. No issues. It’s the fact that they have deliberately gone out of their way to ignore it is what grinds my gears. This will be my last Sony due to this. All I can, and have done , is steer 4 of my friends away from buying Sony cameras when I told them about my experience. I will wait for the diluted 2-year late update and be content.

    • @EasyTigerCreative
      @EasyTigerCreative  11 месяцев назад

      Honestly, if I would’ve known the lack of firmware updates as well, I would’ve just gone with the FX3 haha since my a7siii is religiously used for video since I use a7iv for the photo part of things. I luckily have my zv-e1 for video as well and I’m able to import my custom lots to use it to see how the image could look and then if I’m using two cameras, I can adjust accordingly to match them right.
      But you’re right it’s kind of wild to me that they don’t do any updates on an expensive camera like the a1 since it’s so expensive and it’s a great camera, but they could add so many more things that they’ve already added to the FX3 and other cameras.
      I think if Sony doesn’t change this enough said it before they’ll start losing a lot of people to other companies that actually listen to their customers and I hope other companies keep pushing boundaries so that we might get some good

      @@EasyTigerCreative Sony knows they are the choice of the new generation of film and content creators. Canon is slowly hemorrhaging followers and with the range of cameras fitting almost every niche need Sony is not going anywhere. Therefore, they can throw crap at the wall and see if it sticks. If it does - throw more crap. Hence, the Fx3 - right after the a6s iii. With all the shine it’s been getting for making the creator and the fanfare it receives from its users - who actually get updates - the FX3 is the bell of the ball. Sony could care less about us - and do. When they announce global shutter in their new A9, did you see the legion of reviews calling it a true “game changer”? That camera is probably going to be on back order. It’s people like us that use these cameras for a purpose and like to be brand loyal, who are the ones that get their a$$es handed to them. This experience has left a bad taste in my mouth so, like I stated, it will be my last Sony. It’s kinda future proof for a bit as well. A very solid investment but I don’t like knowing that u can do this to people who are paying the most but can get segmented out, intentionally, of improvements. Oh well, here is to April showers and firmware flowers this spring my friend!

      @@number1chiefROKKA yea I can totally understand that! Don’t get me wrong, they have amazing cameras but like you said, they probably won’t even worry about people with cameras like the a7siii due to the popularity of the fx3 and now the a9iii honestly. It sucks because it’s such a simple fix for them to add the firmware update. I wish I could jail break the camera to add it myself 😂 I don’t want to always have to use an external monitor to import luts to see how the image could look and things like that, specially when I’m on the go. Oh well! When I’ll need to update my camera, if I haven’t felt like Sony brought something that makes sense for me, I’ll be looking at other companies to see what there is. Are you a Sony rep or just a bootlicking corporate simp? The a7siii is a $3500 pro camera. The ZV-E1 IS NOT an A7SIV. It lacks a surprising amount of important pro features (no dual slots is an instant deal breaker for most pro work).
      The fact that they're giving vloggers these new features, at a hugely cheaper price point, is insulting to A7SIII owners that paid so much more. And the fact that they gave out those features to ZV-E1 owners, shows that they're not guarding them to use as a push to buy the A7IV. They're just being lazy.
