Mid 2000's NHL games had some semi heavy stuff back in the day. Still listen to most of those bands still.

Great track. I read that Gojira are planning to release a new album sometime late 2023, and they say don't be surprised if/when it's heavier than what the last album, "Fortitude". Can't fucken wait to see what they do next.

@@NickRG I don't remember the website, but while I was at work yesterday (as soon as I found out they released the "Our Time Is Now" single) I did a search to find any discussion I could find about an upcoming album, and I found a very recent interview with Joe Duplantier where he mentioned that he and Mario had already started working on material for the next album, that they are shooting for late 2023, and that it will be heavier than Fortitude.
If I remember, on Monday when I'm back at my work computer, I'll find the interview site in my search history and post a link here.
@@geauxtigers9609 Amazonia, Born For One Thing, Sphinx, Into The Storm and Grind are pretty heavy. The album wasn't even supposed to be that heavy, not every Gojira album has to be a copy paste of From Mars to Sirius

Soundtracks are underrated. Movie OST, Video Game OST, Anime OST, TV Show OST, etc. I have to explain to people a lot, "yes it's from a _. Yes is a full song. No it's not background music. No its actually really good." etc.
Some of the best composers in the modern time do so for soundtracks.

NHL stadiums regularly blast metal during games. And not just stuff like Enter Sandman, but deep cuts from some extreme metal bands. Wish the NFL did this.
NFL's demographics and hockey's line up pretty well with the music they play.

Also, it's done by muting the strings with the palm of the picking hand, hence it's name "palm muting" it's what creates that chunky sound the guys love.

A lot of times these songs written for games or movies, a lot of times they’re songs from the last recording that they didn’t put on the album…the production on this sounds like it’s from the Fortitude sessions so it might just be a song they recorded and didn’t put on the album

Wage War is one of the greatest "newer" bands out there. You HAVE to check them out. Anything off their Manic album is amazing. I recommend either Desperate, Low, or Relapse. They also have some FIRE acoustic (stripped) versions.

Good song, keeping the same straight out, punchy Gojira sound as Fortitude and Magma. But I do miss their more complex, twisted songs from Way of All Flesh and From Mars to Sirius like the Art of Dying and Where Dragons Dwell.

I've played just about every version of the NHL Games since 94 and this has been the best soundtrack they have ever done by a landslide. Gojira is the highlight for sure but Ghost or Muse would be a close second place.
My favorite soundtrack was always NHL 09 with bands like Avenged Sevenfold, BFMV, Billy Talent...It was basically my gateway into metal

alot of games have vocal tracks for games, whether it be licensed songs like in Midnight Club or GTA, or original songs like in Devil May Cry or Metal Gear Rising
There have been some poor attempts by artists making songs for commercial purposes, not specific projects, in the hope that they get picked up for movies or tv, sports highlight packages. Ozzy has done it a few times.
Motörhead did a great song called The Game for WWE. It’s a bit different for them but it stands up on its own merits.
