The venue in Colorado is Red Rocks Amphitheater. I saw Megadeth there back in the 90s. Breathtaking vistas and OUTSTANDING sound quality without being deafening. \,,/
Yes. My all time favorite Gojira song. I used to walk around at dusk on the wooded trail by my house and have this playing.. it's perfect for that calm erie feeling. I played it just yesterday morning on my foggy drive to work. It just is so fitting for that mood. Finally you went to a show!!!! 😄🎶🤘 I was at the Red Rocks Show 5 years ago. It was amazing. 💓
Earplugs are for avoiding permanent hearing loss only. If the sound is loud enough to cause you physical pain in your ears, wear the earplugs. No matter how much it affects the quality of sound at a concert, that's only a temporary experience whereas tinnitus is forever.
It's Red Rocks you're referencing, and it's the first time I actually really and appreciated Gojira honestly. I had heard them before, sort of, but then I heard them for real there, and it totally changed my perspective. They are amazing and so are you guys. Gotta say ive been listening to gojira since 2005, one of my absolute favorites, and watching yall experience it brings me back to the feeling i had first hearing them. It brings me genuine joy seeing you both enjoy it. Much love
The whole album rocks. My personal favorite is The Axe. I just saw them May 3rd in San Antonio open up for Deftones. It was an amazing show but, I want to see them headline because they didn’t have an encore song 😞
The guitar work on this song is underrated af. The octave pairing/multi finger fretboard tapping is pretty tricky to nail down, and Joe doing that while delivering yet another great vocal performance is unreal.
I was thrilled when you two went off on my choice! I love this song and I was a teensy bit nervous that you wouldn't dig it as much as I do, boy was I wrong! See you back on patreon next month, I've missed you guys!
I was waiting for this for so long. As a gojira fan, I highly recommend you to react to "Liquid Fire" or "The way of all flesh" songs with a huge emotional aspect and that hypnotic atmosphere in Gojira's way. And if you wanna explore in some more progressive stuff. I think that "Anamnesis" by Lucid Planet will blow your mind. I promise you won't regret. Cheers guys, hope everything goes good for you.
Love seeing channels go from "wtf is this idk if I like it" to "Gojira is one of the greatest bands on earth". Everyone goes through the weird phase of being so blown away and confused that you have to take it in and enjoy it over and over to finally get it lol. Great reviews I've seen almost every Gojira reaction on RUclips haha. Interesting watching people experience it for the first time especially lol.
For ear plugs... chew a napkin, get it mushy, form it to an ear plug of your preferred shape and size, and plug your head. Make sure you leave a little bit sticking out so it's easy to remove. Best sound you can get with your ears plugged 🤘🏻
Hey Ryan and Georges. I enjoy a lot your reactions. I'm a 47 years old metal fan (but not just metal 😉)and it's always a pleasure to see you discover new stuff. That's what is so great about metal. There is such a broad spectrum of what you can do and play. It's only limited by your own imagination! Glad you guys are loving the journey, it never ends! Cheers!
I always interpreted that born in winter referred to life starting in the bitter cold of the vacuum of space. Especially with the Big Bang reference. And of course also referred to the harsh struggles and suffering of life. I always felt this song carried the spirit or “essence” of the will to live. Even before reading the lyrics and understanding context just the initial reaction to the sound of this song grabs you and you feel it in your soul. At least that was my experience.
Always brilliant. The most recent band to capture my imagination is Knocked Loose. He screams throughout the songs so there is a barrier to entry but they deliver magic moments. I love 'trapped in the grasp of a memory', but so many other bangers. I don't think LiV will ever be able to get passed the extreme hardcore style but for ppl out there that want to give something a go, it might be worth it.

With earplugs I let my ears tell me. If I’m too close or the mix isn’t right (usually too much guitar) I’ll pop plugs in. I keep a set of eargasm plugs on my keychain and just pop them in when needed. Bands that are loud just for the sake of loud I always pop in the plugs. There are more expensive earplugs you can get that tone down the decibels without losing much clarity. Worth the dollars in my opinion. Great song and reaction lads 🙂
I second this if you really like live music you definitely should go make a print out of your ear and buy earplugs that are tailored for the shape of your ear. You can chose the filter with the attenuation curve and the fact that it's shaped like your ear makes the plug really comfortable and more efficient, while still sounding like music. You can even sing with these
@@xmondoofficial119 Several brands will give you at least three options in earbud size, this meaning they have different options when you buy your buds. I would go with Creative, Sony, or JBL, in this order.
I use some of those and they actyetake the unnecessary crunch out and makes it all so much clearer. Unless I speak. Then it sounds like I am underwater
Said it once, gonna say it again: you guys have the coolest Gojira (and Tool) reaction on the tube, George always comes with the most interesting insights about the music. I agree that this is one of their best songs.
Red Rocks in Colorado is one of the best venues in the world Gojira did a show there in 2017 and the entire show is on Yt It's pro-shot 4k with pro sound check it out 🧐😎✌️🤘
I think you guys are thinking of Red Rocks. They have an amazing performance there of the song “Pray” you should definitely check out even if you don’t make a reaction to it.
Probably one of my top 5 Gojira songs. Every time it goes into the hard part it gives me goosebumps. And Mario is just a master of snare ghost notes. Love it.
Seems very weird, but my best friend since first grade, Billy, showed me this song and I fell in love with the band IMMEDIATELY. Then I got into the band and was at a loss for words. It’s such a weird song to get into them with but it happened and I do not regret it for a millisecond. Gojira needs to go back to the OG ways such as The Link/pre-2010 Gojira.
Heard this song through a random auto-play result on RUclips and it absolutely blew me away. I'm a strictly logical person and don't ascribe to astrology to any degree, but this song really paints a beautiful picture of what it's like to be born in the bitter cold of December. It fills me with a level of cosmic awe that I've never felt before, and it's incredible.
This is the song that really opened my eyes to Gojira, it led to loving the whole album and in a short space of time their whole catalogue. just such a wonderfully constructed song.
Red rock amphitheater is the outside venue in Colorado. Its designed to reverb perfectly so that at talk volume you can hear clearly at the very top/back
I loved when you mentioned "EVOLUTION." That comment made so much sense... They are EnviroMetal! The way the Embrace Tribal Sounds with the most technical and Groovy shit!!!
I learned this on guitar and let me tell you! They are innovative as hell! Tapping is nothing new since EVH made it popular but the way they implement it by tapping octaves to create this echo effect is hypnotizing! Love it!
Y'all are 100% right on Red Rocks - the best outdoor venue around. They renamed the previous "Best Outdoor Venue" award to the "Red Rocks" award because Red Rocks won every year running. I saw Gojira and Opeth there a few years ago and it was incredible. I normally have a strong preference for small venues since that's what I grew up seeing metal bands in and playing in myself, but Red Rocks is my one exception. I've never seen a bad show there.
This was a first spin for me from Gojira and I loved it. Ryans reaction was how I was feelin haha. Think you guys would dig After The Burial-Pennyweight. Theres even a drum playthrough thats vocal less that I would be curious if George likes more or less than the original. Have a good one guys!

Haven't seen one of your videos in a few years, that damn algorithm. I'm glad you guys are still going strong!
You can even sing with these
Like? You guys can’t tell me this and not give me a brand or link or something?
@@xmondoofficial119 Several brands will give you at least three options in earbud size, this meaning they have different options when you buy your buds. I would go with Creative, Sony, or JBL, in this order.
@@xmondoofficial119 mine are from a company called Elacin, they specialise in ear protection
I use some of those and they actyetake the unnecessary crunch out and makes it all so much clearer. Unless I speak. Then it sounds like I am underwater
I really don’t think Gojira can make a bad song at this point, they’re incredible ❤
Said it once, gonna say it again: you guys have the coolest Gojira (and Tool) reaction on the tube, George always comes with the most interesting insights about the music. I agree that this is one of their best songs.
Thanks for posting this!
I love that you guys did this song....my favorite...I been rocking with yall since day one🤘
I love a lot of Gojira songs, but this one holds a place in my heart .
Red Rocks in Colorado is one of the best venues in the world Gojira did a show there in 2017 and the entire show is on Yt It's pro-shot 4k with pro sound check it out 🧐😎✌️🤘
One of my favorite Gojira songs.
I think you guys are thinking of Red Rocks. They have an amazing performance there of the song “Pray” you should definitely check out even if you don’t make a reaction to it.
this an old school reaction, but god bless to the people who get to see this finally🙌🏽
Amazing choice, and another amazing reaction experience. Please consider "a sight to behold" to keep exploring Gojira's creativity.
I still remember the first time I heard this song- GD it blew me away and left me in awe
Hilarious. My life long friend Billy has gotten me into a massive array of post hardcore and metal lol.
Gojira's transitions with tempo is so beautiful
Thanks for the reaction, hadn’t heard this before
Great song and reaction. Definitely a song that l will go back to and l was born in autumn!
Amazing Gojira all time) love'u show! Respect from Russia!
This is the song that got me into Gojira. And still my favorite from them. It's totally unique and flows so naturally.
I'm a 52 year old rock fan and embarrassed to admit this but I've never even heard of Gojira. Time to get up to speed. They sound great!
FINALLY! My favorite Gojira song!
Hahaha loved this reaction, Gojira are the shizznizzle
This is the song that really opened my eyes to Gojira, it led to loving the whole album and in a short space of time their whole catalogue. just such a wonderfully constructed song.
Red rock amphitheater is the outside venue in Colorado. Its designed to reverb perfectly so that at talk volume you can hear clearly at the very top/back
I loved when you mentioned "EVOLUTION." That comment made so much sense... They are EnviroMetal! The way the Embrace Tribal Sounds with the most technical and Groovy shit!!!
This is the song that introduced me to one of my favourite bands, guys. So amazing.
“The Axe” from the same album is so good it hurts.
Glad you guys got to this one!
One of the masterpieces by Gojira oui oui oui assuredly. Great réaction
Also a favorite for me! Such great emotion!
You guys are awesome! 👏😈🤘
They have to do “Clone”. That song is insane and from their raw first album. One of Gojira’s best. LETS GET THEM TO DO IT.
Space time is my fave from that album. Clone is amazing as well.
Saw them live in 2005 in Helsinki. Didn't know anything, just happened to be there. I joined with the screaming.
This was a first spin for me from Gojira and I loved it. Ryans reaction was how I was feelin haha. Think you guys would dig After The Burial-Pennyweight. Theres even a drum playthrough thats vocal less that I would be curious if George likes more or less than the original. Have a good one guys!
Gojira is intelligent and well crafted, embraced by spontaneity and honesty.

7:00 when you're talking about grooves in Gojira, you are completely correct, they got strong groove metal vibes jn the mix as well
