Seeing this song live this year made me appreciate it much more. When it came out, it didn't really click with me, but the echo-ie and anthemic vibe of it just took me by my neck and just.. man they are so good
I saw Gojira a yr ago next month and they played this song but since it was out of context I didn't know if it was an unreleased track or what .The live version is waaaay heavier and this sounds like an out take from the Fortitude sessions and how many Gojira songs grace us with a proper guitar solo lol...All around a top notch band 🤘✌️
I got to be on the front row on their show on Argentina last year and my mind is still blown!!! I'll be seeing them again with Mastodon in a couple of months 🤘🤘🤘🤘
The singer of Gojira literally sounds like he's surfing on the wave of sound. The wave 🌊 is first noticeable, then the voice is floating over the top of it 🏄🏼♀
I saw Gojira live twice this year and I totally get what you mean by the top-of-the-mountain vibe, they are GRAND live! When this particular song came out I was kinda let down, because while it's a good song in general, for me it didn't feel as Gojira as their other songs, but both times I was at their concerts I enjoyed it veeery much, I think it's one of those songs that's just better live. Have a good one, exited for the album live breakdown!
Only thing I find a bit off with todays Gojira is that they have solos lol. It's so alien to hear as a long time fan. But I think it will grow on me. This track is really cool.
This has nothing to do with gojira, but I wanted to post on your most recent video to get the most chance of you taking my request. You have GOT to listen to That Handsome Devil, it is the perfect blend of a Live band and hip-hop style vocals. With your past experience with mike patton and dan the automaton, I have a feeling you'll love this band.
I feel like you would do better covering a broader scope of music than just following the metal heads (I like metal too) I feel like you were heading in the right direction with black midi. You would absolutely love their newer stuff and other bands like Black Country, New Road. Either way, glad you're here geebz, thanks for the content 🍻
I recommend you check out Nevermore, the band from Seattle. I have written about them several times but no response. You posted their song "Believe in nothing" on your channel a long time ago but it's like getting to know Metallica by listening to "Nothing Else Matters"... I recommend "She Comes In Colors", "The Obsidian Conspiracy", "The Sound of Silence (cover)"
kinda cool solo, but overall stagnant. it's pretty hard to differ between their songs released after "the way of all flesh". definitly prefer their first albums or better said the albums i experienced first. meanwhile their songwriting is quite repetitive, self-referencing and forseeable. i might have a different take when i wouldn't have followed the band since "terra incognita".
Been a gojira fan since 2005. I dont know what happened in their sound mix this last album but the vocals are too low and hard to hear in comparison to the last 5 albums. Its meh

Yeah saw them in Nimes in a roman arena, the sound was PERFECT for this song. It really is an arena song

you have the best reviews/reactions/ analysis man. please never stop
I've seen them live 4 times in the past 3 years, and the hugeness of their sound live gets me every time, indoors or out.
Incredible live! Saw them last year open for Deftones and I’ll be seeing them in a few weeks with Mastodon. Wow 🤩
I got to be on the front row on their show on Argentina last year and my mind is still blown!!! I'll be seeing them again with Mastodon in a couple of months 🤘🤘🤘🤘
I saw them with Mastodon (and Kvelertek!) about a decade ago. Great show.
Thank you Geebz. 🎉
Gojira has a song featuring Devin Townsend as well as a guitarist from Meshuggah
Of Blood and Salt is 🔥🤘🏼
Last Encounter is a tiny band from my home town, they released their first single 'Parasite' in late May.

Lets go geebz!!
Guitar solo was nice!
I have to wonder... has Geebz heard of Gorod? Another top-tier French death metal group! ❤
i love these videos. id love to see the lyrics in the background

Has Geebz checked out Cult of Luna yet? One of my favourite bands and it seems like something he'd enjoy!
Gojira is awesome live, my college roommate broke his arm in the pit and kept going like nothing happened

Check out Death - Cosmic Sea. Badass instrumental

I have a song recommendation for you to check out, it’s called Metronome Arthritis and it’s produced by a band called At The Drive-In, super good song
Just saw Gojira a couple of months ago when they came through with Mastodon! Pretty good show!!
Devin Townsend opened for Gojira back in 2013.
Very Devin Townsend like!

Can someone please explain why a pro such as him uses headphones that cost under $100?
Are expensive headphones a scam?
Please do a the way of all flesh listen through!
Early, can you do take me back to eden by sleep token?
Gojira can do no wrong!!!! Imo
Did you know Spotify rips off their artists so badly some make less then $0.006 per song play.

Yeah, the turnaround got me too. I'm checking into them now. LOVED your analysis -- I always learn something from you.
I've had bowel movements with more tonal appeal than this noise.
Harsh but this is a throwaway for a video game so I wouldn’t expect much
