One of the greatest bands ever. I honestly can´t think of a single throwaway track in their discography. Maybe they disbanded in the right time.
This is one of my favorite Thin Lizzy songs! or Phil Lynott's songs! It has very interesting lyrics, a very interesting music! and even a very interesting meaning! besides that it's also very interesting to see that Phil even decided to perform this great song live! since even though it's a very good song yet it is more a "reflexion song" than a "concert song"! so maybe that was also the main reason on why this great song was performed at a little bit faster pace than in the normal album version! which by the way it's also his last song of his last album! before he died or passed away from a drug abuse or excess back in 1986! therefore maybe performing this great song live was also one of Phil's ways to tell us all goodbye! before he passed away! besides that I also believe that in this great song maybe he was also trying to be relating the sun to our normal lives! because when we analyse this great song with that kind of meaning then we could see and understand better why the final phrase of this great song very apropiatelly closes that great album and even Phil Lynott's short life by simply saying: "When all is said and done the sun goes down"! so that it should also be a kind of reminder too for all of us about our own deaths! too! therefore by analysing this great song in a better way could even realize in a better way too that in some day that very same sun which is life in this case is also going to go down for all of us! too!

love the bass on this, how a bass should sound. Sad that Phil looks shot to bits here, shame he couldn't be pulled away from the edge. Despite that the bass is like a metronome
The bass is more prominent than on the album version, sounds way better overall! The best live band ever bar none

Legend Phill Lynott..
In my life I have a few hero's
Ritchie Blackmore
Paul Rodgers
Seve Ballesteros
Cyrile Regis
But probably the best is the mighty Phil Lynott
Fantastic singer , bass player , songwriter and iconic image.
Lizzy were my introduction as a teenager into the wonderful world of Hard Rock.
A true Superstar who died way too young
What a gem. R.I.P. Phil , wherever you may be.
40 ans que j écoute thin lizzy et je m en lasserai jamais . Le soleil se couche , magnifique chanson Rip phil
This was definitely one of my favorite bands growing up
saw them in concert many times.
Love the studio version..this live version is even better.. brilliant band.
Lesser known song, but what a masterpiece. What a fantastic band.
Slušam ih 45 godina a emocije rade Čovjek koji je imao entuzijazma Svaka čast Podcijenjeni su ali :Štaka
Perfect execution of good song. Pure blues.
un formidable groupe musical dont je suis totalement passé à côté et que je viens de découvrir, quelle merveille musicale!!!
the best truly gifted dude black irish , his mother was an angel , thank god i seen them play live in philadelphia , i keep going back to bad reputation , johnny the fox, and the black rose album .
This song gives me goosebumps Whats a top tune. R.I.P PHIL
Amazing performance! Great song, great cameramen job, close shots of the musicians, not like today when images change so quick. You can clearly see the deep emotion pictured on Phil´s face. One of the greatest bands ever. I honestly can´t think of a single throwaway track in their discography. Maybe they disbanded in the right time.
Just gotta keep going ,
For we all talk to angels in our own way.Cheers for the music, the crazy and the great times
The sunset too soon on this awesome Entertainer. He was the force of Thin Lizzy. RIP PHIL✌🎸🎙
Phils voice , it can set you free, no one will ever be or sound the same
Coolest man who ever lived.
Absolutely phenomenal..
2022 Phil and the Boys still the greatest rock band period in my opinion
Such a powerful song. So saddening actually. Incredible talent lost too soon RIP 🪦
Man, he is such an amazing song writer! He is definitely one of my favorite artist! I wish I could have seen them!
Scott Gorham probably the most underrated ever
This is one of my favorite Thin Lizzy songs! or Phil Lynott's songs! It has very interesting lyrics, a very interesting music! and even a very interesting meaning! besides that it's also very interesting to see that Phil even decided to perform this great song live! since even though it's a very good song yet it is more a "reflexion song" than a "concert song"! so maybe that was also the main reason on why this great song was performed at a little bit faster pace than in the normal album version! which by the way it's also his last song of his last album! before he died or passed away from a drug abuse or excess back in 1986! therefore maybe performing this great song live was also one of Phil's ways to tell us all goodbye! before he passed away! besides that I also believe that in this great song maybe he was also trying to be relating the sun to our normal lives! because when we analyse this great song with that kind of meaning then we could see and understand better why the final phrase of this great song very apropiatelly closes that great album and even Phil Lynott's short life by simply saying: "When all is said and done the sun goes down"! so that it should also be a kind of reminder too for all of us about our own deaths! too! therefore by analysing this great song in a better way could even realize in a better way too that in some day that very same sun which is life in this case is also going to go down for all of us! too!
super morceaux superbe voix (la plus belle que je connaisse) que d'émotion nostalgie..
There's No words for this..Just emotions overwhelmed by his voice! ❤ then everything else follows...when the sun goes down.
VERY TALENTED...IV ALWAYS BELIEVED TO PLAY AN INSTRUMENT...SING AND WRITE LYRICS...ITS INCREDIBLE....HE DID NOT JUST PLAY BASS .LIKE PLAYERS TODAY SLOPPY....HE PLAYED BASS LIKE NO OTHER ...RIP
Um projeto artístico sólido e impecável ...Thin Lizzy era de outro planeta ,não e possível uma banda ser tão perfeita !!!👍
Very under rated band. They did some fantastic tracks.
One of the greatest songs ever written.
A great tune. Once again. The reason I loved great rock was because of the lyrics. Phil. Moved on and I KNOW that the demons he dealt with perplex many of us. Thanks Phil. And praise you BUDDY!
Pure magic, incredible for ever - pure Phil...
This is more than a song. It is the story of the world.
Simply amazing how they, an especially Phil delivered, even better than in studio... 🖤
Thin Lizzy always seemed to be ahead of the curve. The sad thing is that time was called on the band just when things were lining up. This lineup could have been massive as the eighties rolled on. They were great live, had a fantastic back catalogue and had just produced another fine album. For the sake of a pause and maybe a detoxification things could have turned out so much better. But what happened is what it is and that’s that. Such a shame.
This is my favorite track on Thunder & Lighting I’m a big fan wish I was a little older so I could have seen them live…Share this with someone u luv this is what real Rock is 💯☮️❤️🍀🍻
I wish you could’ve too. They were amazing
You should go and see 👀 Ricky Warwick and the black ⚫️ 🎶 star riders in Glasgow, if you can. I hope you can meet with your mates. Wee davy in Glasgow
Scott's solo is brilliant totally embraces the song!
+ John Sykes 😉
Thin Lizzy sun goes down classic song from the seventies remember hearing this song growing up good memories forty five years old still sounds good now good song
I think Phil should be one of the best bassists of all time. Not because of talent but because he knew how to drive a song with it
I have to agree that currently Lizzy have shaped my life over the past twenty years we’re all entitled on how we view entertainment rock stars or not I’ve had some problems and meeting Phil’s family and everything has really helped me out with it all xxx
You can really see how Phil falling apart from drug addiction. Great song but still sad.
Can't help but think this song was very autobiographical for Phil. There's a sense of resignation in his voice.
Saw thin Lizzy many times what a musican and front man.will have this song playing when i get to pearly gates.
great album. always the poet, i think this one held prophecy in its lyrics..god bless you & philomena xx
