We need more musicians with King Buzzo's attitude.
Well...we actually need way more players with his type hair for sure
So true. But I'd argue we need a LOT more fans with that attitude, too.
Melvins, most underrated band ever. Fact. Pure brilliance.
ABSOLUTE fact.
Not the most but in the top 10.
Glad to see others acknowledging this, they inspired so many other bands yet people have no idea.
It’s like you weren’t even listening to Buzz
Buzz Osborne... such a dude! This is how it is...do,do,do
He's so damn inspirational.
I'm amazed at Buzzo's ability to make something played on an acoustic guitar sound fucking heavy.
Buzz knows where the heavy note combinations are! The kind of notes that would sound heavy played even on a flute. Tony Iommi also knows where they are....
Am I the only one that thinks That Buzz"s laugh/smile is full of innocence ???
nope. you are spot on
+Timothy Perge wat
+Shaima Sh he said you're spot on when you said that his smile and laugh are full of innocence
He did ?
"Nope, you are spot on" sounds like it to me
I started playing guitar pretty late too, which makes me super relieived knowing Buzzo did too
+Devon Angell Kevin Rutmanis (one of the best bass players Melvins had) started playing bass at 28. So yeah, age doesn't matter.
Definitely my favourite Melvins bass player !
Same. I’m 18 and just started playing 3mos ago
i bought a guitar when i was 13 start touching it while i was 17 then i bought a bc rich warlock at 18 that's when i start to fo easy chugy metal riffs
@@piedramorada Is Kevin rutmanis is Bass Player in Tomahawk ?
After Tony Iommi, I’ve always said Buzz when it comes to consistently awesome riffs! Riffmasters!
Hetfield is in there, but I agree those 3 are the riff machines!!!!!!!!
Dave Mustaine.
Jerry Cantrell too
Don’t forget Jerry Cantrell and Kim Thayil
Matt Pike
I met him in about 2002 or so at the new Daisey theater in Memphis, he was so nice to me. I told him how much his music meant to me and that I learned of them from Nirvana. Such a nice guy. And so influential to so many people. I will always be a fan of the Melvins.
I think Buzz is seriously my "guitar hero" of all time, or "musician hero". People are always going on about people like Eddie Van Halen, or Randy Rhoads, or the guys from Metallica and Megadeth, or Kurt Cobain, or the guys from Guns N' Roses, or . . . but no, Buzz is just humble and honest, and a genius when it comes to either guitar or songs. Other than admiring the playing, skill and personality of the late Dimebag Darrell, Buzz really is my favorite musician out there.
Revolve is one of my favorite songs and one of my favorite Melvins songs.
And zodiac is very cool
5:08 buzz explains why the melvins have remained so consistent.
haha that look he gives the camera right at the end is priceless
hes a musical messiah
Buzz's laugh is one of the great joys in my life.
I love you Buzzo!! My world is so much richer with your existence.
I’m embarrassed that it’s taken as long as it has for me to find The Melvin’s!!! Love this band and King Buzzo’s general attitude about music, I couldn’t agree more. I need music that speaks to me.
Without a doubt the most underrated band ever.
It's just baffling how great the Melvins are, and they are not bigger. Buzz is an amazing songwriter.
Hahaha he is jamming Creepy Smell from the Ozma album. Legend. Maybe id say he is the most important guitar player for heavy music in our generation.
yeah, I was surprised he still knew any of those songs
Let God Be Your Gardener
THANK YOU. i knew it sounded familiar, at least knew it was from ozma
I'm 26 and I've played since I could hold a guitar and played everyday since I was 15. I love how he says he just gets up and sees his guitar and just wants to pick it up. I'm usually late everywhere I go because I can't put my guitar down. It's awesome and never gets boring.
He makes super heavy, slow sludge but talks pretty fast. Cool!
Just thinking out loud.....why in the absolute fuck did y'all decide to put part of Buzz's interview over Buzz's performance of this song? Even a "music company" treats music like wallpaper to their lives. Jesus.
Great point. It was a missed opportunity to hear some of his lyrics more clearly; largely wasted by putting his interview over most of the song. I was trying to hear the line about poison candy and it was drowned out.
Buzz from The Melvins showing us a few things about playing guitar and being in a band. #Setmeup #themelvins
Where can we buy that take?
@@philparadise3702 Yes! That would be great!
I've been a fan for 20 years and I don't think I've ever heard Buzzo rock an acoustic guitar. They should cut a whole album like that. With Dale on bongos! I'd buy that in a second.
They did! ..Well he did. No Dale, just Buzz. It's called "This machine kills artists".
Only available at the shows, but I've got tickets for my hometown show next month.
i got the album on Amazon
No Media Chopshop, it's an album that you can get and find on youtube.
I saw him in London a few years back, it was just him and an acoustic guitar, he was completely insane. One of the best gigs I've been to
This song inspires me
one of my favorite people. Thank you Buzz, you contribute to most of my days
Buzz is just the coolest dude. I love his stage presence too. He just fkn rocks. Such a cool dude
The man. The fro.
he is original one of my fav artists
There are a few artists in history who have really shaped what we listen to today, no matter which genre. The Melvins are definitely in that category.
One of my all time favorite songs.
It's amazing to hear such a stripped version of revolve. Buzzo is such a real real person, one who isn't defined by what he plays, but what he saves. It pumps me up to know that there are so many melvins riffs out there waiting to be perfected on and later released. The Melvins are a band that will only keep getting better, which for most bands is an impossible feat
Man I gotta say, his writing sounds so simple but works so damn well.
So he wrote Lateralus too, badass riff
saw them at ozfest 95? was about 3 feet from the man, and the look in his eyes was, well mesmerizing. the whole band had on nambla shirts, had a guest midget drummer, and they insulted NC every chance they got... priceless and unforgettable. pigs dont let it.
My all time favorite Melvins tune!!!
This man simply rules. His interviews actually have value and you can get something important from them about music.
Thank you for never burning out. Your music and dedication still inspires me
THIS IS PERFECTION
This song gets stuck in my head for days every time I hear it.
A true master at his craft and musician/songwriter extraordinaire. Also one of my heroes. Also, interviews with this man are some of the best interviews you'll see anywhere. A legend in his time. King Buzzo.
Love it . Thank you for your contributions to the music
Just discovered this band... I'm 51 and a life long rocker... Can't believe I never heard of these guys before. The more I see their youtube videos the more I like this guy. He's a real dude and the music is kick ass fun.
I love how insightful he was towards the end of the interview. His perspective on what music is is something I hadn't considered before.
Love this guy and his approach to music. Legend
That hair is legendary!! I love Melvins and the most recent play I've heard sounded better than ever. Keep rockin Buzzo!
This is a Top 10 Melvins song ever. Cool to hear it like this. Awesome
Buzz....can't thank you enough for not only your amazing art, but how you humbly acknowledge the importance and inspiration of your band(s) Music is connection, therapy and a voice that you epitomize.
I love the intro and the drums and how it sets up , SUCH A grab your ear riff .
I googled the lyrics to this, and what he sings here is wildly different. I'm wondering if the words were wrong, or if he legitimately just goes more with the melody and the words are less important
I think that’s the way he dose it, if you listen to a melvins song, it’s more so about the flow of the lyrics rather then the actually lyrics.
What Buzz sings here is the same as what he always sings for Revolve. The words are incomprehensible on purpose and Melvins has never published the lyrics for this song, so we can only guess
His lyrics don’t really make sense what the fuck is honey bucket about?
Great interview
I think the key to the Melvins' longevity is Buzz's inclination towards hoarding riffs and bits of unfinished songs. Most artists will think "Ok, we have 6 months to a year to write our next record" and they go into the studio and try really hard to write what they think is good or will be popular by the album's release. It just seems like a really archaic and ass backwards way of going about your business. Props to King Buzzo, he's a rock and roll lifer and he's been doing it right from day one.
Great riffs!
This is great.
Great Tune .
Most excellent. Discovered this tune one cold winter night in early 95. #KISW
Such an awesome musician, songwriter, and all around badass. Great interview and it's really cool hearing what King Buzzo has to say about music. Wish we could hear the whole performance by itself as well.
i love this guy
This is good stuff
First band and first song I ever moshed to. Still one of my favorites!!
Thank you so much
King Buzzo is the epitome of all music knowledge, a legend who deserves recognition.
Buzz is a national treasure! And, I love Power Slinky's on my '94 LP Studio
King Buzzo is my spirit animal!!!!!
Buzzo has the BEST hair, total SIDE SHOW BOB look just Rocks!!
Great attitude to music, love King Buzzo. The Melvins are a really underrated band, Revolve is an amazing rockin' headbangin' tune.
Great video.
I just saw King Buzzo this week -what a legend 💜
Buzz is such a good player and artist. Very inspirational guy. Not many heroes out there I’d like to meet but he’s one.
KB is at the point where he needs to be on these top guitarist of all time lists...
freaking GENIUS!!!!!!
One of the coolest riffs ever
Nice!
It's good to be the king. What an amazing body of work no end in sight either.
AMEN, BUZZ... YOU DID THE HOMETOWN HOME
great teacher ! it's easy !!
You know you're a legend when Kurt Cobain is inspired by you.
Yesss ! 💪🏼
Fuck dave asshole Grohl.
@@triggerdigga5682 why?
@@dankboy5201 this you must answer on your own.
@@triggerdigga5682 Dave’s drumming was such an integral part of nirvana, any musician knows the right combination of people even more so than the musicianship is magic to me the foo fighters never had that. I commend Dave for moving forward and becoming so successful, but I feel he was at his best as a drummer.
Legendary.
Exactly! Who needs verse, chorus, verse, etc. His songs are a journey, not a product.
i started guitar early, when i was an embryo i bought my first guitar and the wizard said, "ooh boi" and i shat me salf
Ooooh I love this so much
wow... what a power.. damn nice!!
god damn i love the Melvins
Great great great
King Buzzo rocks !!! very cool guy !!
I love the Melvins
Love Buzz
So no one is going to mention that jack black got some moves from this guy. Love the "get out of bed and play" every day
Acoustic melvins are still good melvins.
I really like how down to earth he is.
LovE YA BuzZ !
What an absolute tune Revolve is!
this guy is a genius. huge Melvins fan.
thats song is really sometin, and tbe clip is soo good.
I love the buck Owens guitar
King Buzzo; Riff Meister
Mr. Ball, is there any way you could just upload the performance portion of the video?
The Melvins, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Janes Addiction and Primus are the soundtrack to my 90’s memories!
WOW
The one and only Buzz!!!!
