We talked about Alchemy Records, all kinds of horror stories for the band, etc. He signed an autograph for me on the ticket (red construction paper-like) that he signed King Buzzo is a pu$$y. Dale was shy, but came out with 7” flexis of the song Euthanasia. I stupidly sold that in the 2000s. I am pretty sure he had a plastic bracelet that spelled out fcuk you with those little plastic beads with letters on them. I believe it was them who were parked in a white van in front, before the gig. Ahhh, the old days.
I love that Buzzo is doing this interview/rundown like he would with any other person. He’s not talking down to this (allbeit rad as hell) kid like he wouldn’t understand or appreciate the situation like an adult would. So cool!

He really knows how to talk to this kid. So nice, respects him enough to have a serious conversation yet use language and a have a disarming way about him thats dialed in to the situation. What a treat this was to watch.
No other musician would take that kid interviewing him seriouspy, but buzzo shows him the same respect n gives him the answers he would any other interviewer, such a fantasticly sweet human being

The Melvins are one of the most humble and under appreciated bands of their generation - hands down. When people would say the best drummers of the 90's were Lars Ulrich or Travis Barker I would laugh and think neither one of those guys could hold their own against Dale Crover in a drum battle but Dale's too modest to ever admit that. He's one of the last true drum gods but no one realizes it lol

I know dads put on the Sabbath & Zepp & tell them, " this is how good it used to be!" Thatz great & all but they need to learn that there are bands that have takin that to the next level; Melvins, Neurosis, C.O.C., Earthless, just to name a couple, but I don't think that most parents are even hip enough to know about them, themselves! Buzz is smart...probably one of the first guys to actually play heavy riffs on a metal guitar that is literally heavy as fuck. No wonder his tones are so brutally rad and lethal. Sometimes his tone sounds like it could gut you out. Edit: It's also really cool encouraging this kid. I hope the kid is inspired to make original music himself :)
Back in the mid 80s I saw the Melvins and the Asexuals open for Killdozer at Harpos in Victoria BC.....Great show....The Melvins were like Kiss meets The Swans.....Buzzoo was really cool ....talked with me and my buddies for a bit....he wasn't the mellow older dude that you see these days but super friendly and pretty hyper actually! It's so awesome that this kid has a righteous mentor

I can confirm Buzz is always this nice. I met him at Lollapalooza when I was 16 and he took time to chat with me for like 20 minutes. He was really gracious and patient.

I just saw The Melvins live - the guitars and amps are so unique, they're like another member of the band. You don't see instruments like that every day. Their live show is killer, definitely check it out if you get a chance

The only reason people even know who they are 25/30 years later is because it's well documented that Kurt idolized them early on. Soooo many better and more deserving "underrated" bands from that era.

Goat's Head Soup! Ronnie, Keith and Bill were some of the first big shot players to accept these strange guitars. Same thing with the Dan Armstrongs, I believe Keith had the very first one

I just feel he craved the success other bands for, and then said they sold out or made these unfair judgements of many of them for their drug use/abuse. These were bands that loved the Melvin's and they were a huge influence on so many bands of that era. He just seems really ungrateful to those that helped him and his band, even 39 years later. Literally saying "good riddance to junkies that overdose, one less to worry about". A spiteful and disgusting person in my opinion

Ive seen the melvins twice. One of the gigs was so loud i could barely walk the next day.

Went and saw the Melvin's maybe three years ago and just got my hearing back yesterday.
I've seen the Melvin's twice and they sucked both times. They may be the most overrated "underrated" band of that era.
