Whether you love EVERYTHING Melvins have put out over the years or not, watching this totally proves why they’re still at it, just having fun working their weirdness. A fan forever.🫀👽🌈💥
One of the coolest things about The Melvins is I was able to sit down with my 14 year old daughter 20 years ago and teach her The Melvins on guitar. The amount of joy it brought her playing along with King Buzzo was incalculable. They are legendary.
A lot of bands show charisma, but in different eras, frontmen have different personalities that don't ALL age equally well. For example, as much as I love Dave Mustaine, if you watch interviews of him in the 80s and early 90s, he seems like a real douche and you'd never hear someone talk the way he did then Buzz and Dale have ALWAYS kept the same weird, energetic, lovable personalities. My point is, if you watch really old Melvins interviews from 30 years ago, there is absolutely NO cringe factor! Unlike Dave Mustaine in 1990 saying "those guys aren't cool MAAAAN, they're like, unhip, maaan"
Having 1600 shows since 1987 is the an average of 43 shows/year for 37 years. Simply astonishing! 🤯 Making excellent music and not being a legacy band after 37 years is even more wicked cool! You are the GOAT 🐐 Melvins
Saw buzz at a Whole Foods in Thousand Oaks one time and he was eating lunch and it was the least punk rock thing ever and it was absolutely awesome ahah
I've been to tons of concerts starting in 1978. I"ve had an unbelievable number of tour shirts from countless bands. About 2005 I had to let them go. So I cleared them out....except for just 1. A really special one to me, and there were some awesome onesthat were hard to let go. The one I kept and was showing it off just the other day...... *_Melvins Eggnog._*
I never seen that particular one as t-shirt, and in about a teener of thought great cover for a shirt! Yeah, that's a cool one. I've seen an like 4 every different ways. I got a shirt first time opening for Helmet on that groups Aftermath(was that the name of the album after Betty?) Tour. Melvins s played like a 55 minute stunner of sludgergeny, Honky might've been out, Stag was newish but I think they already toured it a bit at that point. Saw them maybe a year to year and a half later at the mason jar when touring the triology. Maybe best concert I've been at. Got my only melvins shirt at one of those shows. It wasn't their coolest but I wore the he'll out of it. It was black with red lettering of the melvins s written like literally flowery and cursivey. Saw them open for tomahawk few years later. Best biggest stage I think I saw em at but set was only hour. Rules but they should a headlined. Within same year or 2 @ same place ( the marquee, all this in AZ btw) also saw Fantomas headline over Melt Banana and The Locust. Noisepunk heaven J
Meglio Tardi che Mai... Vi ho scoperti da poco tempo...Una Botta di Vita ,in questo Mondo di Zombi...Bravi ,Bravi ,Bravi...Grazie per la vostra Musica .
I love (the) melvins. I don't know in my life if I could meet them in person. Before it's too late. Dale and Buzzo are like grandpas of my unborn child right now. Much love from Malaysia! ❤️
Saw them open for Helmet in a small bar in Charlottesville,Va. I have burned many brain cells in my life but I can remember first seeing King Buzzo in person and being starstruck by his awesomeness. Dude is a legend who is insanely influential
i met boz in like, 2003/5 melbourne australia, cant remember exactly the year. melvins were supporting Phantomas and Tomahawk. Bro, i was 17. Shouldn't have even been in the building legally. epic introduction to bestiest sludgiest weirdiest rockn metal ever. Met Boz outside in smoko after their set. most down to earth dude.
Ok folks, now we’re talkin. The Melvins are the best rock band I have seen. Besides Fantamo$. Sway was more like a jag parody than a cover! Made my day. This is the best pedal review. EVER. And the best pedal channel. Great job Jamie and Company! I met Buzz a couple of times at Emo’s and he is funny as hell, and real people com ca. He is an underrated, humble, master, BUT if you give the Melvins sh*t on stage they will give you an earache. Piya.
Because they have some albums that I think sound like a totally different band than another album. Melvins are all time faves of mine. Wanna say either Houdini or Stag was my introduction to the studio stuff. Houdini may be the most universally liked album they have, and it contains some absolute classic Melvins, however, as good as Houdini is, Houdini Live released maybe 10-ish years ago (recorded in the 90s with Joe Preston on bass) is so perfect that the studio Houdini is nearly irrelevant to me now. A Senile Animal was from 2006ish and has the guys from Big Business (thus it’s a double drum album). It rules. The earliest stuff (Ozma, Gluey Porch Treatments, the debut ep from ‘86, up to perhaps Bullhead from 91) still have some awesome punk rock energy. Prick is particularly underrated to me. Lots of great “Melvins-adjacent” things to dig into from their individual solo releases, to any of their long line of bassists other projects, to stuff like Fantomas. They opened so many doors for me. What Fantomas should I buy if I haven’t heard them since around when their Delerium Cordia album came out, and remember liking it okay, but appreciate Mike Patton (and Trevor Dunn’s weirdo jazz stuff) way more now than I did then?
I knew that was a Steve Marriott impression. When I was a young lad I went to see Humble Pie. Steve Marriott sang the intros to their songs. He literally sang, "who wants to hear some Rolling Stones. " It might have been on a live album as well. I don't know.
I love how Boris the japanese band and Melvins the band who wrote Boris the song who inspired the japanese band :)
the circle of life itself
I got to see Boris play Boris live, was brilliant.

Normally wouldn't really watch in full, but it just had the right punch
Me too
Damn King Buzzo's almost 60 yet him and the band have never sounded better.
totally
So true
he always got that old man voice so now it really sounds like old man voice
One of the coolest things about The Melvins is I was able to sit down with my 14 year old daughter 20 years ago and teach her The Melvins on guitar. The amount of joy it brought her playing along with King Buzzo was incalculable. They are legendary.

There’s nothing like the Melvins and there’s nothing like a Melvins interview.
