I thought when I met him a year after this interview, with a goatee, he looked like an evil version of a sesame street muppet like Oskar the Grouch lol. Funniest dude too.
This has to be one of the most awkward and best performances of all time. One of the heavies rock bands killin' it in what looks like someones living room, to a crowd of folks whom have no idea what they're seeing…there's an Amish dude playing bass…they had to whittle down Dale's kit so he didn't damage anyone's eardrums hahaha…classic Melvins. LOVE IT!!!!!!!
I hope someone reads my comment because those audience members doing their head bobbing thing reminded me of Will Ferrell & Chris Kattan in *A Night at the Roxbury*
Hahaha what in the actual fuck is going on with the courtroom sketch artist and the fucking Melvins!?! This is gold, I miss the 90s. Makes no sense and that's the best part. My acid is kicking in... Hard 🤙🏻
I think this was right around the OJ trial, so courtroom sketch artists were a normal part of life I guess lol. I had to think about it because I was wondering wtf was going on too...that's my best guess, could totally be wrong :)
I love Mark's getup. It's like Buzz and Dale were out a bass player. They were also out in the countryside. All cows, Amish people, cowboys, farmers. Buzz sees this cowboy jamming out on his bass infront of some pigs. The pigs are digging the deep tones of this dude's bass. And at that point: Buzz and Dale knew that this dude would be their bass player just for a little. Then they'd get another one later. Of course. I'm high.
SO HAPPY someone saved and uploaded this!!! THANK YOU UPLOADER!! ...I just wonder what ever happened to that old man's sketch... Probably worth a TON of money right now if it still exists.
I love how a bunch of the big wigs are trying to pretend they're versed in the music and pretending to be into it while the other half are looking on completely flabbergasted and confused.
“Hey Big Bodie” my Son heard me cranking this tune at level 10. It’s on his playlist now. His name is Bodi, so he digs it too. We must teach the youth😂
Haha, they destroyed Probst in the interview portion. Melvins were all about being straight forward and not giving a squirt of piss what anyone thought!
THANK U SO MUCH FOR THISVIDEO! I HAVE SEEN THE MELVINS OVER 25 TIMES .HAVE EBERY ALBUM AND NEC=VER HEARD ABOUT THIS INTERVIEW. HOLI CRAP THAT'S JEFF PROBST !
So glad I remembered to brush my hat and put on a clean shirt for this bizarre journey into TV land. I had completely forgot about this, and will do so again immediately after watching it.
The audience acts pretty much exactly like I would around my middle/high school years, in a hypothetical situation where Melvins come to my school to play a gig with all the teachers still around and paying close attention to us, so that we don't go crazy
These ridiculous shows from the 90s. It's so funny, they'd be hosted by folks who were working on their careers, trying to get into showbiz, people who had folders full of head shots and credits, networking, hoping to get the golden ticket. And then you had the bands, like Melvins. They'd have to sit and talk. Buzz says it all at 5:30. It was fun to see 'em on TV back then, though.
I wasn't familiar with the Melvins until just a few days ago and I noticed the drummer was killin' it, but I'm really digging these groves. I'm not into Metal that much but this is pretty contagious.
this shit's hilarious ...i almost cheered at the end of the first song...thanx for making this available ....i missed allot being stuck in pop crap music hell....cheers !!!
Ugh...Jawbox's performance on SoundFX used to be up on RUclips but it disappeared. I've been trying to hunt it down since it disappeared and have had no luck. If you love something like this make sure you download a copy!
heavy, tight, melodic. also, this is the weirdest video. the doofas in the blazer is like if ben stiller from reality bites hosted a music show (fwiw ben stiller's actual music video show on MTV was pretty hilarious).
It said Melvins has been making beautiful music together since 1981. I think beautiful is the wrong word. Maybe heavy wicked music would be more apropiate
also if by saying kurt cobain co produced houdini, you are saying its a producers job to shoot up and leave the band for the rest of the session. no offence to kurt cobain, I like his music. also lori black was credited for playing bass, but wasnt she kicked out by the time houdini was recorded?? in my mind it was Dale and buzz by themselves recording and producing their own album
Dale Crover is a fucking god on drums.
I thought when I met him a year after this interview, with a goatee, he looked like an evil version of a sesame street muppet like Oskar the Grouch lol. Funniest dude too.
Amen brother
Yep and a nice dude

AND Jeff fucking Probst is there randomly
I hope someone reads my comment because those audience members doing their head bobbing thing reminded me of Will Ferrell & Chris Kattan in *A Night at the Roxbury*
Yeah, because you know what she's REALLY into smh
@@ddmaxwell1024 ,
What... Cock?
@@FlamSalad I was there too.
Proof that the 90s were the most amazing decade ever
😂
I think I've just witnessed a bunch of people headbanging for the first time.
Buzz has a killer voice!! His vocals takes his riffs to another level. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Hahaha what in the actual fuck is going on with the courtroom sketch artist and the fucking Melvins!?! This is gold, I miss the 90s. Makes no sense and that's the best part. My acid is kicking in... Hard 🤙🏻
tf you are righ wtf is going on in here
+Thunder_pickle. And, how old are you?
Old enough to remember good acid, ask your mom.
@@thunder_pickle6887. Early-20’s it is.

i know... i love nirvana, but that whole scene wasn't all about kurt cobain, these guys inspired him to even get into a band!
Nirvana sucks
That era that everyone liked heavy music... Miss you, 90s
Probably the best episode this show ever had. No wonder I'd never heard of it.
1:55 Probably goes home his moms like "Hows the melvins concert" and hes all like "It was pretty intense"
@Dave It wasn't A Concert. It was a Situation.

cool beans
Cowboy bass player reminds me of the cowboy bass player from The Birthday Party.
best comment
Mark was a great fit for them
@@Apemopo seems like a real dickhead comment to make. I hope that in the last 3 years, you've reflected upon this. And are a different person today.
The awkward head bobbing is the best.
Gems like this are what make RUclips fantastic!
Nothing beats the Amish look on stage
Hahahah gold
Love how it's a big deal that someone in the audience takes a photo.
This is the greatest thing I have ever seen in my entire life.
The fastest version of "Revolve" I've ever heard.
Cool to see that Buzz's sense of humor has not changed over the past 22 years.
SO HAPPY someone saved and uploaded this!!!
THANK YOU UPLOADER!!

The coolest dude with all the talent is the sketch artist... Yea!!!
the drawing guy rocks as much as the melvins do!!!!
It looks like they're performing inside Alan Partridge's house.
“Hey Big Bodie” my Son heard me cranking this tune at level 10. It’s on his playlist now. His name is Bodi, so he digs it too. We must teach the youth😂
The master level trolling is strong with them...lol
0:40 Performing “Revolve”
5:19 Interview/Goofing Around
11:02 Performing “Goose Freight Train”
i want that sketch
What a weird era
it was an honor to grow up in that era
Driew in fucking reverse... lived it forward bro. Sorry you missed out.
The 80-90s were the greatest.
It was a great era.
The RockinJunkieShow Um, yeaaah
Melvins is so awesome that even il maestro Ennio Morricone is just sitting by quietly making sketches of them @ 4:44
Good song and hats off to the Drummer.
"MELVINS HAVE BEEN MAKING BEAUTIFUL MUSIC TOGETHER SINCE 1981"
WTF?!
I was just thinking tonight "holy crap, Melvins have been around 40 years now"... Hell fucking yeah!
@@redherronrecordsbeautiful sweet baby makin music 😂😂
Love the guy in the KISS t-shirt. You know someone told him a heavy rock act was coming so he went out and bought the first band shirt he could find.
Maybe not,the Melvins have several covers of Kiss songs. He is a hardcore fan from both bands,i like to believe in that.
Man, I remember watching this show at like around midnight back then. They would also review albums.
its great to see ppl listening to the music and not being on their cell phones unlike at todays concerts
Is that Jeff Probst!? survivor host. Melvins Rule!!!!
Haha, they destroyed Probst in the interview portion. Melvins were all about being straight forward and not giving a squirt of piss what anyone thought!
Yup
melvins you have been voted out of the tribe haha lol.
Dale Crover... of my favorite drummers! Gotta love Buzz, too, of course!
What the hell kind of drum set is he playing?
THANK U SO MUCH FOR THISVIDEO! I HAVE SEEN THE MELVINS OVER 25 TIMES .HAVE EBERY ALBUM AND NEC=VER HEARD ABOUT THIS INTERVIEW. HOLI CRAP THAT'S JEFF PROBST !
The best lead guitarist of all-time right here...
The ridiculous 90s dancing was just hilarious. That was almost more ridiculously awesome than the actual song.
I didn’t see any “90s dancing”.
“Alright! I love that song”
So glad I remembered to brush my hat and put on a clean shirt for this bizarre journey into TV land. I had completely forgot about this, and will do so again immediately after watching it.
the Melvins are fucking beautiful. I can't believe I only just started listening....just now.
I remember watching this show when I was a kid.
I thought that was Probst...wow this is classic. and the Melvins sound great.
The Melvins STILL bring it completely- Luvs me some King Buzzo! 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽😌
this video has been an obsession of mine for years now. it feels like a tim and eric sketch.
especially the bit where it pans to the sketch artist. like???????
I've seen a lot of us Melvin crowds
This one hands down is the strangest one of all.
The audience acts pretty much exactly like I would around my middle/high school years, in a hypothetical situation where Melvins come to my school to play a gig with all the teachers still around and paying close attention to us, so that we don't go crazy

The Melvins can come play in my conservatory, then eat some scones. More tea vicar?
This great comment has gone criminally unnoticed for too long.
Such playing
Demands such Attention.
Awesome.
Thx for putting up this gem
I wasn't familiar with the Melvins until just a few days ago and I noticed the drummer was killin' it, but I'm really digging these groves. I'm not into Metal that much but this is pretty contagious.
Always the best thing at the party THE MELVINS
this shit's hilarious ...i almost cheered at the end of the first song...thanx for making this available ....i missed allot being stuck in pop crap music hell....cheers !!!
they are a serious source of energy. thats not normal 🙌
This has to be a Canadian show...
They have a guy that sketches the band playing, this is a cool show
i'm now totally supporting the theory that buzz osbourne is actually jack osbourne. or the other way around.
Ugh...Jawbox's performance on SoundFX used to be up on RUclips but it disappeared. I've been trying to hunt it down since it disappeared and have had no luck. If you love something like this make sure you download a copy!
Just frikin awesome!!!!
I love melvins interviews
I love the bass drops
This is one of the greatest performances ive ever seen. buzz is making everyones life worse for the sacred creation of craic
The trick's on the audience and the hosts (where are THEY now?)
Melvins Forever
Thanks. Never heard of this show
In this video....Overly-self conscious white people awkwardly bobbing their heads and one black chick pretending she likes the music.
+smirch Lights are on and they're all probably sober. It was probably really awkward. Should have had a kegger first!
+smirch Haha at 1:42.. that was weird as hell!
+smirch awkward venue
Wtf is your problem they rock you just have a stick up your ass
+Ernesto Torres mainly the crowd
Love me some Melvins!
Dale playing a Purecussion portable "headset"...holy shit!
the melvins are real sweet young men
King Buzzo in the day. Takes me back.
The best Melvins album!

god, the faces of the crowd at the end. they cant even comprehend what theyre hearing XD
It said Melvins has been making beautiful music together since 1981. I think beautiful is the wrong word. Maybe heavy wicked music would be more apropiate
Did these guys seriously just invite some ppl in the neighborhood over to watch melvins play in their living room
1:24
God Damn Neck Of A LINEBACKER!
Just the right amount of awkward.
buzz always sounds like hes harmonizing with himself, but more than likely a demon. either way the mans got some pipes
That may be the best live version of Revolve I've heard
Revolve-my fav
Nice kit, Dale. This rules!
Some ask , what is great music? Well if this came out today it would have much success. Great music is timeless and this is great music.
Telling my kids this is Jack Black Osbourne
also if by saying kurt cobain co produced houdini, you are saying its a producers job to shoot up and leave the band for the rest of the session. no offence to kurt cobain, I like his music. also lori black was credited for playing bass, but wasnt she kicked out by the time houdini was recorded?? in my mind it was Dale and buzz by themselves recording and producing their own album
The co-host is Karyn Bryant from MMA heat. She covers a lot of the UFC stuff now. Kind of weird to see her here...
she looks way hotter back then, damn
Searched comments to see if anyone noticed that
thumbs up for the random old guy drawing in a suit
best part of video is guy drawing melvins while they play
The interviewer desperately trying to control this interview lol
pearls before wine
kicks ass every time !!!!!!!
Michael Azerrad is fucking everywhere
As a drug user I'm offended lol
This 1st song’s main riff sounds exactly like Tool’s Lateralus. (They obviously were influenced by the Melvins)
All love to Melvins, but when i was out of the room it sounded like Slayer "skellitons of society" but since both band rule its a good thing.
Jeff Probst has the patience of Job.
2:20 Dude w/ the Gonzo shirt :)
