- The Walkersville Southern Railroad operates on four miles of former Pennsylvania Railroad tracks from Walkersville, MD through the Monocacy River Valley towards Frederick. The all volunteer operation runs regularly on weekends from May to October plus specials. The railroad uses a variety of diesel switchers, with a number of GE 45-tonners and PRR 44 tonners. This tourist railroad has expanded operation considerably in the 30+ years active as a tourist railroad.
For a few weekends each year, steam operates the regular trips and photo specials. The locomotive brought in is from the Gramlings, with one of their traveling tank engines trucked in. Jeddo Coal Company 0-4-0T 85 has been featured for several years.

In the time between when this video was produced, Walkersville Southern added a 65 tonner and a Long Island 25 tonner to their roster. We just can't keep up.
I must say, I kinda forgot how interesting the roster of diesel engines Walkersville Southern has.
Great captures and locations. Nice to see 85 on the Walkersville Southern Railroad 👍
Glad you enjoyed
Fantastic video of diesel and steam trains, the saddle steam locomotive #85 is particularly beautiful. Thanks for showing and have a good time. Best regards from Germany

You're Welcome
Super nice video :)
Thanks
I really like that you put the tonners in order of tonnage for the roster. That was a really nice touch for the video.
Glad you enjoyed
It always feels weird seeing 9331 not at Strasburg. I miss those 2 tonners that ran at the burg
9331 has been at Walkersville for well over a decade
