- I dive deep into Napleton's discrimination against Black customers
The FTC fined Napleton Auto Group $10 million dollars for taking on junk fees and discriminating against black customers at 5 Dodge dealerships, Kia dealership, the GM, and Napleton Automotive Group. The company was warned about their deceptive business practices and the fine was suppose to serve as "holding them accountable." @ocmotivator stumbled upon a King Daytona at one of their dealership and inquired about the price but Napleton CDJR in Illinois is up o their same business tactics of deceiving customers.
With @TKsGarage and I exploring the corruption within this dealership, what will we find? And what will the manufacturers that condone this kind of behavior by Napleton Automotive Group senior staff?

I live in the Chicago area. Napelton is known far and wide for their shady tactics.
Black people getting less money for lawsuits is their own fault they get bad lawyers if the black person gets panties on a dollar for the lawsuit so does the lawyer he don't even get as much as the person suing are you trying to say a lawyer is going to lose thousands of dollars just because of somebody's skin color and get them a crappy lawsuit lawyers only see green. PS lawyers are basically whores of the financial world in other words they will do anything for money and losing money on a lawsuit ain't one of them

I was part of that FTC lawsuit. Ended up getting a check from the fees for my extended warranty and other stuff. They are a very shady company
I worked for Napleton Dodge in Kissimmee FL, and they are really bad, back in the pandemic days they took the money from the government that was supposed to be used to pay employees and they put their own direct family to "Work" to keep the money and on top of all they told us that they were going to gave us new uniforms but that they were to discount that from our paychecks .. 10 polo shirts at $50 each. So they used the money that was supposed to be given to us to buy those shirts in order to have an excuse to keep the money, The employees used to talk about the owner using the name " Rapist Pete "

They are the worst! In 2021 I traded in my Silverado on a SRT Durango. The initial process went well. A few days go by and they call me and tell me that there’s an issue with my truck and I need to come up with an additional 5k. I opted to return it. I was able to find a similarly equipped vehicle at a different dealer when I shared with them what happened they weren’t surprised.

I worked for Napleton Nissan from 2014-2016 and they literally fired basically every employee by selling the dealership and then re purchasing the dealership. Very Shady. Would not recommend.

Unfortunately the add on scam is nothing new. I bought a used car from a Toyota Dealership in the 90's that tried to add things I did not request. If that wasn't bad enough, this Toyota dealership selling me a used Toyota which had a price right about $25K on the window with the text "As Is", but then later added laser window etching, undercoating and some other things that were done when the original owner bought the car. They also added on an overpriced service plan which mostly was oil changes.
The financing wasn't an issue at all, but anyone buying a car that is getting financing through the dealership, watch out when they only focus on your monthly payment and not the overall cost of the car. That's when they start adding stuff.
This dealership has been doing this since 2002 that I know of. Their Cadillac dealership moved from Hammond, In. to Calumet City, IL and the scams and fraud got worse.

The same could be said about concert and sporting event tickets. I've been to hundreds of concerts but never paid a penny over the face value of a ticket. Ticket scalpers are absolute scumbags, maybe even worse than car dealers. But unfortunately there are people out there who will foolishly pay 10 or 20 times the face value for an event ticket.
This pisses me off we are all the same no matter out color gender etc. This makes me so angry it should be illegal to act the way they do

I appreciate the work Butter. But these clowns ain’t going to change. On top of that, misinformed people will continue to buy from them. I gave up on Dodge products and I was luckily blessed to own a cat and a scat. I sold em both and now I’m driving a “Foreign” Nissan 2014 pathfinder that I bought for 4K. Best purchase ever, I park it without a worry and it’s kinda decent on gas.

Napleton in Kissimmee Florida does the same thing. They have the Dodge King Daytona for about a year now asking $100,000 over.

I have a Napelton Toyota dealership five minutes from my house and after being treated like garbage every time I’ve walked in there to buy a used car. They add devices to the car like edge molding and pin stripes along with fake interior treatments when you return for the actual purchase the following day these things adds $2.500 to $3.000 grand to the price from the night before. Also they sold two used vehicles that I thought I was returning to buy the following day. After talking to the salesmen several times in the two day period. And I’m a 59 year old white guy with a great job. 😂
I do not know about Napelton as they have shown that they are not to be trusted. I bought my TRX from Granger and they were professional, honest and a joy to deal with on the purchase. I received $11,500 below MSRP and there were no “strings” attached. No wonder Manufacturers are wanting a direct-to-consumer model.
The one in West Palm Florida is trash

There's a dealership here in Maine called Charlie's and my sisters knew a guy who worked there but quit because he couldn't be part of their sleazy business practices. One scam they did was call people up a few days after they bought their car and say oh sorry but there was a $500 whatever fee that wasn't paid, but it wasn't real it was fake... Some would say tough shit I ain giving you any more money the deal is done! They wouldn't push it because they were lieing and they would act like they were nice guys and say ok sir don't worry we will take care of it, BUT some were nieve and would be like that sucks and go pay them the extra $500. Hey they sold a pile of cars so even if only 1 out of 5 are foolish enough to pay it that adds up... 100 cars if my math is right that's 10k... For doing nothing but a phone call.... Not bad.

I purchased a 2017 Charger RT and 2018 Charger Scat Pack from them back in 2017 from the Napleton dealership in St Peters, Missouri and at the time I purchased my vehicle everything went pretty smooth. That’s what I thought until I saw that there was more added onto the car I wasn’t aware of and they charged me for some things I wasn’t aware of. The auto industry is a dirty place man. I tell ya. I was hit by a drunk driver and it was paid off. I was glad to get out of that deal. I couldn’t fight it.
READ WHAT YOU SIGN. If you don't understand, or it's confusing to you... Don't sign. PERIOD! Manufacturers should hold these dealers more accountable. It's their brand they are tarnishing!
This happens when you become desperate to purchase a car, don't take time to read the fine print, ask questions to the additional charges before signing the contract.

All of these dealerships should be investigated....they rip people off from their sales department, parts departments and service departments....went to my local dealership in south florida for the green belt for my 19 challenger hellcat redeye and they wanted over $750 just for belt....found that the belt is a gates belt and bought for $68😮all of these stealerships are marking everything up so high that im surprised they are still in business 😮

Arlington Heights,il is a very well-off area 40-50 miles NW outside of chicago.
Napleton is dirty. I bought my car from them and it was a terrible expensive.
I bought my Scat from them in Oct 2020. I received a settlement check on 11/14/22 for $59.20 . If I remember correctly it stated the settlement was for unwanted fees. I don't recall it saying anything about discrimination , letter probably kept that out on purpose.
I live in cook county il and this is my first time hearing about this.
I was done like this when I went to purchase my Durango from Bosak in Indiana. I drove 4 hrs and they tacked on some bullshit fees and paint protection. I was pissed but was tired of searching and travel so i just purchased it. These dealers are not your friend.

Dealerships shouldn’t even exist after Tesla showed us that you can buy a vehicle DIRECTLY FROM THE MANUFACTURER and skip the MIDDLEMAN/Dealer.
Manufacturers should replace Dealers with Manufacturer SHOW ROOMS.
Where the auto company has all of their vehicles on the lot for you to test drive and kick the tires then you go ONLINE AND ORDER your vehicle the way you want it.
Only thing dealers could do at that point is offer WARRANTY REPAIR SERVICES.
As consumers we can FORCE THIS TO HAPPEN by REFUSING to pay a penny above MSRP.

This is a national chain that's been fined by the FTC twice at least. They should be shut down. I saw OC's video when it came out.

Me and my youngest brother bought a Camry from this group and they had it listed for 21,800 and with added dealer fees they tried to charge us 30,000. We told them we not paying that. And they dropped it to 21,000 plus taxes. me and my brother are light skinned. We live in Wisconsin.
Good to know. In 2019 I was dream-searching for Challenger Scat Packs and at one point they had the bare bones base models listed around $35k. I was wishing I had the cash to buy one. Now hearing all of this, I would have been blind-sided at the dealer and that would have been a very long disappointing drive back home after giving them the finger.
Nah man 2019 and 2020 were the best years to buy these cars because those prices were legit. Now scats going for 50k not even including markups

Here's a problem though let's say that dealer charges more interest for black people on the surface it looks racist but what if the black people that happened to go to that dealership didn't have the best of credit what he is talking about his results of a lawsuit the lawyers are going to make the dealership look like really bad people worse than they are if that's possible and not giving the whole reason for the high interest rates would be one of them you got to look at all sides

Napleton Auto group is the worst dealership in the entire United States. You are right, they should not be allowed to operate. They ripped off my 86-year-old mother last year in the service department. Scummy dealership & scummy employees. Please never give them your business. Unfortunately they are buying up a lot of dealerships around us and consumers will fewer choices. More people are going to end up going to Napleton and getting ripped off.
