Ronbus paddles are the most underrated paddles on the market. Top tier technology.
Yeah, my R3 Pulsar was starting to lose some spin, so I bought a 6.0 DBD. I just can’t get the hang of it. Will probably get another Pulsar, but wish I knew if they had anything new coming soon.
@@backbonz Pulsar FX series will be coming out in the next month or so. Has some new tech that helps marry the touch of the Nova with the pop of the Pulsar. Might be worth checking out.
@@SirDinksAlot received one yesterday..hah!
@@SirDinksAlot got one (R3) yesterday and played with it for about an hour. Really like what I’m feeling so far.
I got the R1 Pulsar on black Friday last year. I love the paddle. Having the option for a slightly longer grip was nice for my 2 handed back hand.
I had a coupon issue when I first bought it, and Ronbus support was great to help me get it resolved.
I'm looking forward to their new paddles and plan on buying from them again.
Great video, Will! Love seeing Ronbus getting some attention. Looking forward to what's in the pipeline from Ronbus in 2024
Ronbus makes great paddles! Two of us have been using the R1-Nova for a few months. The Nova really has a nice balance of power/pop and control. Ronbus is still innovating - looking forward to what they have in store for 2024!
Bought the EV2 and it’s epic! Just bought it to try it after I saw some reviews. Actually aggressive dinks and resets are easy when I was thinking it would be a struggle. The funniest part is that people trip out on the sound.
We have one. It's actually a pretty good paddle if you use some lead tape at the 10 and 2 o'clock positions to help with sweet spot etc. It's got above average spin, but certainly not on par with a gearbox pro power.
Thank you for your time and posting. Looking for a new paddle will keep this in mind.
Just got my Ronbus R1 Pulsar at Christmas and am really enjoying the paddle. It plays great and my resets and counters have really improved (more pace with less swing needed). But... just saw that new 6.0 paddle and now wondering if I should have waited. Congrats on the colab and PBW logo on the paddle. Hopefully the specs on it won't be something that works for me so I don't have the urge to buy another paddle!
love my nova! resets and dinks are easy peasy, but the paddle has enough gears to put the ball away
I ordered the original R 3 16 right after the Pickleball Studio review, so almost a year ... yeah, the spin isn't out of the box level, but I'm still working the ball with a one foot curve baseline to baseline ... no core crushing experienced yet, and I do hit hard, being an OOLLLLLDD tennis player ... just stating that it's still playing solid after a year ... Dong at Ronbus stands behind his product
R3.16 has top-tier spin. A lot of the variance seen among reviewers is just that...technique. Also, it should never experience core crush because that's generally a thermoformed paddle issue; basically too much heat pressure applied during the manufacturing process.
I've been using a R1 Pulsar for the last 6 months. Awesome paddle but (as an intermediate player) I wanted some more control. Played with a R1 Nova today. It definitely makes the touch shots easier, but my ground strokes and serves needed some adjustment. Ill keep playing the Nova for awhile to see how it compares.
I also noticed that the Nova seemed to have a bit less spin than the Pulsar, even though its a brand new paddle.
Hey Will,
Wondering if you could do a "where are they now" video for Legacy. I have a Legacy Pro since last march, I really love, but have not heard much about them since your "a new standard" video and all the hype last year. It seems influencers and paddle testers are not giving out anything because they are a smaller company although they hit a homeroom with the original LP
8:44 Your friend commits 2 foot faults in one clip 😂
😂
I got the R1 pulsar and nova. The pulsar had much more power and pop. I stuck with the nova as it was easier for me to control and I still have plenty of zip for put aways.
Thanks Will. I’m curious about your thoughts on rec level players using an ev paddle. I know some people are against it as they feel the power in less skilled hands can be dangerous. Despite you and Chris recommending protective eyewear, not many rec players in my area wear them.
I'd be surprised if the Ronbus EV hits harder than the new FX R1 or FX R3. The FX paddles are crazy powerful with lots of spin despite the shallow grit. The dwell is crazy with the carbon grid system under the face.
Curious what you think of the Pulsar FX?
It’s good just nothing special in my opinion from a performance standpoint. Pretty solid all around paddle though
@@PickleballWill thanks!
@@PickleballWill I think it's because I'm coming off an 11six24 hurache-x control kevlar but my FX R1 hits like a truck. I'm struggling to tone down the pace for soft shots what with having only gotten it a few days ago and still trying to figure out a consistent technique to hit good dinks and drop volleys with it compared to a more control-oriented paddle.
dat audio quality tho
