    Great review as always! I’m loving my FX.R1 and when I’m playing I feel like I can really feel the difference in plushness depending on how hard I hit the ball. Maybe it’s just in my head but either way, I think it’s an awesome paddle!

    I'm a huge fan of Ronbus and their paddles. I still use my R1 Pulsar all the time. It just feels really good when I'm using it. I haven't tried these ones yet, but they are on my radar.

    I just started pickleball 2 weeks ago and have only played a few games. The person who introduced me to the game only had straight wood paddles. Then, a local Pro Shop allows for loaning paddles for testing. I told the guy at the pro shop that at 60 years old, it's a bit hard for me to do fast deep bending. He suggested trying the Paddletek Tempest Reign Pro v3. Coming from a straight wooden paddle, I absolutely fell in love with this. However, I'm hearing everybody think that Paddletek makes crappy paddles. And I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't have purchased it.
    I'm definitely not a banger, and I play fairly strong game at the kitchen line, with decent reflexes and accuracy. For just starting out, people say I'm doing fairly well and would rate me a 2.5 or 3.0 player.
    I'm extremely confused on if I made a bad purchase or not. I would like to know what you think.

      I love Paddletek paddles personally. But for you you’d benefit highly from a paddle like the Honolulu J2K. Check out my review of it!

    but does it epically anime battle the shogun (if you can get one lol)? shogun is similarly described as having 'filthy' power while retaining control on softer shots (sweetspot improvement over the filth as well), with the titanium assisting the pop. the fx grid system seems to provide similar playability, staying flexible on softer shots but pocketing and launching the ball on drives- like providing 1 x 2 return on big swings and 1 x 1 on small swing.

    • @stspickleball
      @stspickleball  Месяц назад

      Shogun is solid! It would be a hard choice between the two. I’d say if you prefer a touch more power go FX and if you prefer a touch more control go Shogun. Both are higher swing weight 😊

    Love your video as usual. Ronbus Fx Series is cool. If it is better to add some contrasting parts, this is just my suggestion. I feel they are very similar to the Hudef Pro Series. TY.

      @stspickleball  2 месяца назад

      Because it’s three different shaped paddles I chose to just give the metrics for these paddles in this video to not be exhausting with numbers and comparisons. But I do hear you! Solid series definitely top tier in my opinion. Hudef is great as well if you want more of a value paddle! 😊

    Great review from the Pickleball Willy Wonka. Thank you, Sir. really enjoy your reviews. Not long and to the point. In my humble opinion Sir, if you could make paddle comparison from the new Standard Shape paddles (16x8 inches) like the Ronbus R2 FX Pulsar, New Bread & Butter Fat Boy, Spartus Apollo, Volair Mach 2 Forza 16mm, Joola Scorpeus CJ 16mm, Honolulu J2K and J2K Pro, etc. Think a lot of your audience would appreciate it. Thank you again. Saludos from
    Panama.

    Always enjoy your videos. Question - how would you compare the feel (i.e. as plush, much stiffer, etc) and sweet spot of the FX R2 to the Volair Mach 2 Forza 16mm? I game the Forza but am looking for something with a bit more pop but very controllable. Thanks and keep up the great work.

    • @stspickleball
      @stspickleball  Месяц назад +1

      I’d say the R2 has a bit more pop and a bit more plow through on the ball. Still plush and has a big sweet spot.

    Great review. The shape of the Ronbus Fx R2 is what I like, but I think the Hudef APEX Pro offers better value for money. They are all in wide body shape.

      I have an R2 and let me tell you I love it. The sweet spot is massive and plush but I still have pleeeennty of power when I need it. Granted I'm a pretty strong guy to begin with but I rip top spin without a problem

    • @stspickleball

      They are definitely different! If you’re looking for more of a control ish all court paddle and want Kevlar I’d go J2K or J3K or even J7K. If you are looking for more power and more pop I’d go with the Ronbus FX series 😊

    Great review. Been a Ronbus fan ever since R1.16. Did you by any chance add lead to the R2FX? With the lighter SW, you could bring up those power numbers and have great pop. Just curious.

    • @stspickleball

      Oh yeah I did! I love it with 2 5” strips of 1g/inch lead tape starting 1” out from the grip going up the throat into the sides of the paddle. Love that setup.

    Not sure these are really Gen 3. The RPM's Speed Etc. are all in line with Gen 2 paddles. The true Gen 3's Oni, Joola, "Ronbus Ripple", etc. have Gen 3 tech with the trapoline effect.

    • @stspickleball
      @stspickleball  Месяц назад +1

      Gen 3 means a paddle that has innovated in tech or core structure beyond what Gen 2 offered. It has nothing to do with power specifically.
