Always appreciate your reviews Will. I returned my Perseus 3 a couple weeks ago, and I play Diadem 18k Power Pro, Viva Pro Gen 2 and Vatic Pro V7 16mm,. So, For $119 to my doorstep, I have one on the way. Team HUDEF has been excellent to deal with as they stand solid behind their paddles warranty, which is Lifetime to original owner with the new Gen3. That's tough to beat.
Great comparison video, now I'm using the Hudef viva pro gen 3, amazed by its perfect performance.
Yes, I love the power on serves and drives with it and find it to be very controllable as well. I think the blue with the white edge guard looks great as well.

Kevlar. I really like my Sword and Shield J2K Pro. Great combo of power, spin, control and decent sweet spot. Just feels great.

What is the most power with a lot of control in the elongated shape Will I am so confused since the while joola dramas as wanted a 16mm perseus. Thanks

Thank you PB Will, great review. Had the old Gen 2 Viva Pro, liked it but ended up selling it. Question Sir, what would you say right now is the best Hybrid Paddle ? Is it the Thrive Azul ? My game is a bit like yours, like to end the point sooner, rather than latter and come from a tennis back round. Also had the Pickleball Apes Energy S, but did not like the feel and sold it. Met your good friend Brian Green and fellow pickleball podcaster in Panama. Hope you get to come down sometime with your Paddle Avengers group ( The Olsons, John Kew and Eddie your adopted Dad, Braydon and especially Doug ! ). When you say best Hybrid I’m presuming you are talking about the shape? If that’s the case and based on what you told me then I would say that the Azul and Black Diamond are the best ones imho. I also think the chorus shapeshifter has a nice feel

I have to buy paddles and test them, because there is only 1 Selkirk/Wilson store who sells paddles in Panama. That is why I have already bought about 74 paddles in 4 years. I am between the Chorus Shapeshifter and the Thrive Azul. Wanted to also have a Hybrid Shape Paddle. My current Paddles are the Engage Pursuit Pro EX 6.0 and MX 6.0, Ronbus EV2, Ronbus R-1 Pulsar, Ronbus Pulsar FX R-2, Volair Mach 2 Forza 16mm, Joola Scorpeaus Gen 2 CJ 16mm, Kiwi Labs Slice, Head Radical Raw 15mm, SLK Halo Pro Max 16mm and just bought the new Gherkin Phantom 16mm to try out. Have 3 sons who play, plus my wife and I. Just to give you and idea. Thank you Sir. Saludos from Panama.
@PanamaLou-zk3xe shapeshifter much more player friendly and has a more buttery feel where the Azul feels stiffer by comparison. Good luck!

I'm currently using the Huarache X Control+ (non kevlar), what paddle would you consider maybe an upgrade?
@@folz17 Although I agree with it, I've loved it. I've had mine for 3 maybe 3.5 months and all the grit is gone and I've noticed spin loss. don't know I should re-up on a new one or just get something else.
If you need more power an upgrade imho would be the Hudef viva gen2. If you need a bit more touch then an upgrade would be the hurache Kevlar. The upcoming gruvn lazr would also be an upgrade if you needed a touch more power

@@folz17 You probably could, I just play way more than the average guy and use spin in my game a lot. I basically work another FT job with the hours I play.
You can't get 6 months out of anything if you hit hard and with a lot of spin@folz17
Saw the luqi grip! Which one do you use personally? Am I the only one who thinks they’re just not quite long enough?
No I’m totally with you. They are way too short to double-wrap a 5.5” handle. They’re ok for short handles, but they’re honestly cheaping out. Give us the same length as Yonex, Tourna, pretty much EVERY other grip manufacturer!
I like the Ultimate grips. And I personally think they are long enough as I always find myself needing to cut them off when I finish wrapping them 🤷♂️
I currently use a vatic prism v7. I love its price at 100$ and its elongated shape but am looking for something with more power & pop. are there any paddles youd recommend thats in the 100$ range?
