From the boot screen press and hold the option key when the boot sound plays. Hold the option key until the boot screen appears and then select the drive you want to boot from.

Hey Kody,
I going to guess that a CD wouldn't work as it only has 700MB of space but a dual layered DVD might if you have a burner that will support that.

It worked to the point where I was to drag the file into Disk Utility. Nothing happens. Disk Utility doesn't accept the file.

Hello 718pipe, I'm not really sure however you might want to check out a company called VMware as I'm currently using there virtualization software to boot windows from a USB 3.0 flash drive.

Ooops, spoke too soon. This happened: HELP!
In Disk Utility 2 partitions to Toshiba (external disk 750 GB)
1st partition is set to 730 GB
2nd partition set to 20 GB for Install OSX Lion (lion install "InstallESD.dmg)
Disk Utility error 2nd partition. When I dragged .dmg file to Source, then chose Destination as my Install OSX Lion. And error occured.
Reads: Restore Failure - could not restore - Cannot allocate memory.

You might want to try to create the install disk using this app diskmakerx.com hopefully that will resolve the error. Does anyone else in this thread have any suggestions.
