- Apple no longer supply a bootable USB Flash Drive for their newest Mountain Lion operating system, as they did with Lion.
Using this tutorial you will be able to create your own bootable USB Flash Drive using Apple's newest operating system, Mountain Lion!

For a moment I thought this comment was from 2012 and I was like, a 2009 MacBook Pro would not be old by that point, it would have been out for 4 years at most by then. Like a 2020 Mac would be in 2024. But then I saw that your comment was from a year-ish ago and it started to make sense to me. lol

You will not get the full 6Gb/s benefit of either in your system, but both are very good drives and very similar is speed etc. Personally I went for the Samsung due to the better reliability overall.
I agree and that was what I did but their was just too many useless stuff and problems that came along with it. So now I am planning to do a clean install from the usb drive. Hopefully that will fix the SAFARI freeze issues.

I had the original copy because It was from my mac, so in the app store my copy appeared as already purchased.
So I just downloaded again and then follow the process.
I did it from Mavericks and it works fine. and also I did it from Snow Leopard, I have 3 Macs so I wanted to clean them all.

WHAT IF YOU GET STUCK AFTER CHOOSING THE INTERNET OPTION AND IT DOESN'T WANT TO CONTINUE EVEN IF YOU SAY IT DO NOT CONNECT TO THE INTERNET. CAN YOU HELP, THE HARD DRIVE THAT I BOUGHT DID NOT COME WITH THE RECOVERY PARTITION ON IT. ANYTHING I CAN DO TO RECOVER IT SOME HOW
So this worked for you recently? Did you have to pay to get the download from Apple, and does it still work as it did a year ago when he uploaded this video?

ONE THING TO MENTION IS RIGHT BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING YOU NEED TO DO IS MAKE SURE IT HAS 1 PARTITION AND GUID ENABLED.

can anyone help me?? i have an Intel Based Imac i tried all steps from different you tube videos on how to create a bootable usb drive for Mountain Lion osx and NO LUCK it worked the first time i formatted but i forgot to format it (mac extended journaled) the first time , so i wiped it out and on the second run seemed like everything went through fine , then booted and coundlt see my usb drive once i restated and held option key..HELP ! I tried it again and i got 'Restore Error unable to allocate memory'
will this work with a dvd rewrite able disk?
This may not be the place to ask but I'm trying to downgrade from El Capitan back to Mountain Lion. I have a copy of Mountain lion and I follow these instructions up until the point where I have to choose the Source and Destination in the Disk Utility. El Capitan's disk utility doesn't look like the old one did. I'm pretty stuck. Any help would be much appreciated.

I just bought a mac mini with mountain lion already on it, and the app store is charging me $19.99 for it if I want to download it again. ??? Any ideas as to why?
Probably because its not associated with the iTunes account you have logged into the App Store with.
The previous user has probably upgraded to Mountain Lion purchased via their own iTunes account.
They are the same password and id.
In which case you should contact Apple Support to rectify.

Pls I have dis I download 2 Mac operating system Mavericks.10.8.iso and still downloAded lion mountain10.7.dmg which I downloaded with my Lenovo G550 and I use transmac to restore it using 8GB m-card next I tun off my pc but it doesn't boot . I even try using virtualbox but it still Thesame . The dmg Mac file didn't even start when I restore it to m-card.I even downloaded Rufus.exe ,win32Disk to move the Iso I configured my laptop bios to AICH but it still didn't boot when I tun off system to boot it . Even the dmg did the same.. PLS HELP ME INSTALL MAC I DOWNLOADED TO MY LENOVO G550 on win7 now but I wnt to run Mac on it .
