      I think the 2006 Chargers were the best team to not make it to the super bowl. But, there's no shame in the fact that New England and Peyton Manning were on fire at the time. I think any team in history would have had serious problems getting past them to the big dance.

      he was the best running back in the history of the chargers. PERIOD. and i am a Raider fan and i say that with truth. i atend the raiders and san diego charger game annually as much as i can. and i remember his frist game in San Diego against the raiders and he ran all over us. and i turned and looked at my friend and said "as long as the Chargers have him and he's healthy we wont beat them" and it held true. they destroyed us. whenever he was healthy and played.

      It's not like LT or Rivers or Gates aren't good in clutch situation. The Chargers defense were never good in clutch situation.
      At least the Chargers have 3 future hall of famers they can call 100% home grown Chargers. It was shitty for me to watch them crush the Raiders for years, but the Chargers were the team to look up to in the AFC West for a long time.
      Sadly, I started calling them the "San Diego Super Chokers". They just could never make it to the big game.

      @jackiechan6460 8 лет назад +5

      Well, sometimes players can't just leave the league. They still have the itch to compete on the field. I am sure life after football is a big adjustment.
      When Nnamdi Asomugha left the Raiders, I was crushed. He was my favorite player. A true man on man shut down corner. He played for the failed Eagles dream team, came back to Oakland, signed, played no games and retired as a Raider.
      I think more players should take that approach. At least then the fans can have some closure.

      Marty getting fired after a 14-2 season is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. It's up there with the fat guy from the Chicago Bulls running Phil Jackson out after his 2nd 3-peat.
      Marty was my favorite coach since Vince Lombardi. I think he's right up there with Bill Parcels, Don Shula, and Vince. He deserved a ring and I wish so badly he had got one.
      He was a great coach and an even better man.

      As a pure runner yes, as a complete RB I don't agree. I feel the fact that you can include him in comments like Walter Peyton is just insane. I don't think AP will ever be what those men are but in a lot of ways is just as great a running back. The fact that there were moments early in LTs career where he was compared on air with Barry Sanders.
      However to catch passes (100 in one season), throw touch downs, Run, and Red zone, NOBODY beats him. He had strength and power but he ran with grace. AP I think has a much better HR running ability (better speed and athleticism) but he doesn't run routes and catch out of the back field as well, and isn't touted for his blocking skills. That was what made LT so great he was a great runner, a great pass catcher, a great thrower (on occasion), a lock for getting or influencing your team getting a td, a great threat at any point in a variety of ways. AP is more of just give him the ball and let him run it in (and that it's own right is damn impressive).
      I just don't think AP will ever be as complete as LT (partially by offensive design) and thus will never be touted as better than LT because they are different.

    **Writing this in 2018** Man...as a proud San Diegan, San Diego sports will never be like this again. The way our city was united behind LT and the Bolts was unreal...and don't get me started on Marty; his "pales in comparison to the person" speech about LT where he teared up in front of the press still gives me chills. It makes me choke up a little knowing that we'll never get this back. I appreciate this video because it reminds me of darn good times! It's too bad the Bolts are no longer here but honestly, to San Diego fans, the Chargers were already gone several years before they actually left. After all the ways the organization neglected the fans and city and mistreated the players and coaches who were the heart and soul of that 06-07 team, it's no wonder that stadium was either empty or filled with visiting fans most of the time. This whole city could see right through the charade. I don't want to get too negative; this video just makes me nostalgic and disappointed that we'll never see this here again.

    • @joshhughart289
      @joshhughart289 4 года назад

      Objectively LT is easily one of the best overall running backs of all time. Speed moves finishing power hands and blocking. Some backs are better than him in a couple aspects but thats about it. Biggers and faster than Walter Payton and better reciever. Fight me haha. Sanders slightly quicker but much smaller. Peterson was a better pure runner but not close as a receiver.Jim Brown played forever ago so its hard to compare. Emmitt Smith isn't top 5 if you are talking about physical ability and skill.

      hassan haulcy ya smith is overrated. Ya he was a great RB but he wasn't an elite, special RB like LT or sanders. Ya he got more overall yards than LT but he played like twice as long....

      scott h "wasnt an elite running back" WTF?!?!?! How was he overrated? SMH you dumbass haters dont know shit.

    • @lukemoore550
      @lukemoore550 9 лет назад +1

      taerG si sibannaC Emmitt Smith was overrated for the following reason - he played behind the greatest offensive line of all time. It clearly allowed him to earn more yards than he would have otherwise. While he was indeed "elite," he was not as great as his statistics suggest. He is a Top 10 all time RB.

    I'd take AP over LT any day of the year. However, I used to idolize them both and I loved trying to be like them. Beings a Vikes fan AP will always be my favorite and the best in my mind, But large amounts of respect put out to LT. Made growing up in a Football home enjoyable.

    I still can't believe San Diego picked LT and Drew Brees in the same draft. If they had no other picks, it would still be the best draft ever.
    I think Tomlinson is the best running back of the 21st century. I think Adrian Peterson is right behind him. Along with Frank "The Inconvenient Truth" Gore , Marshawn Lynch, and Derrick Henry.
    But, I haven't seen anyone like LT in the past 21 years. I think he belongs in the conversation with Sanders, Smith, Brown, and Sayers. And that's got to be the biggest compliment a football player could have.

But hands down the greatest running back in the 2000's. Well in the future I guess we don't know lol, But right now he is a first ballet Hall of famer and a top ten running back to ever play the game
