I went to the Jets destruction of the Raiders at MetLife last year. It took everything in me not to boo. One of my favorite places to travel on business is to Philadelphia in the fall. Sports talk radio in Philly is brutal. I'd argue it rivals sports talk radio in New York. I happened to be near Philly (at the SAP NA HQ in Newtown Square) the year Andy Reid picked up Michael Vick, after the dog fight thing but before his first game as an Eagle. Holy cow, the vitriol spewed forth by the callers to the radio stations was just hateful, but with imagination and satire. It was fun to listen to in the car going to work in the morning. (Especially since Vick ended up doing pretty well there.)

I went to the Jets destruction of the Raiders at MetLife last year. It took everything in me not to boo. I just sat there staring like an elementary school teacher who lost permanent control of her demon kids. It took us three hours to get to the game. Two trains and about ten miles of walking through the cold, 40-degree rain. Only to watch that. Mind you, I go to about one game every three years. So I was not pleased. But I’m proud of myself for not booing. I did make plenty of sarcastic comments under my breath, but those were only for me.
I like to believe that when a fanbase boos their own team, it's mostly out of love for that team. They expect more out of them. For example, I'm an Eagles fan and the way they play sometimes frustrates the hell out of me. Eagles fans know they can play way better then they do and booing them is just our way of letting them know. There's no hard feelings. I'm not saying it's right or anything, just saying how it is

I was at both of the Eagles games in the video. The Patriots game was brutal, there was booing from the start of the game to the end of the game with “Fire Andy” chants throughout the game. Especially at the end.

One of my favorite places to travel on business is to Philadelphia in the fall. Sports talk radio in Philly is brutal. I'd argue it rivals sports talk radio in New York. I happened to be near Philly (at the SAP NA HQ in Newtown Square) the year Andy Reid picked up Michael Vick, after the dog fight thing but before his first game as an Eagle. Holy cow, the vitriol spewed forth by the callers to the radio stations was just hateful, but with imagination and satire. It was fun to listen to in the car going to work in the morning. (Especially since Vick ended up doing pretty well there.)
