      Not to mention it puts the defender at risk for major injury, too.. such a dumb tackle. He's already going down, just put a hand on him.. If he's trying to knock the ball out, then just go for the ball.. an uppercut woulda knocked that thing out, easy.

      Agreed, although I think it would have been even better/more interesting if it had included any sanctions against the players making the tackles. I don't even watch NFL but surely those that tackled helmet to helmet must ahve been ejected from the game?

      @@FatHead1979 pretty much any of those head hits from shoulder or helmet is ejected, just dont hit the head and you're usually good. Don't do anything that can cause a neck or head injury and you're good.
      Edit:
      Its not always intentionally on purpose, it is accidentally on purpose a fair amount of the time. Sometimes in the moment the mind goes "stop this shit" and they throw themselves. Some of these men the only way to stop them is to throw yourself, any hesitation they will run through it. This is a game at the professional level where a 300 pound man can run at you going about 20mph in less than 5 seconds. These people are reacting faster than any of the best athlete you know, it seems slow but some of these hits are crazy to understand unless you have at least played it

      @@FatHead1979 yes on some of the videos if you watch a bit longer, they have the ref saying the players have been ejected or disqualified so yeah, on some of those hits at least shown in the video Some players were ejected rightfully so.

      That's only true in very narrow circumstances, i.e. receiver in the act of catching, QB in the act of giving himself up. Being a defender is hard, but lying and/or crying about it doesn't help.

    Here in Australia, ( Australian Rules Fooball) if your feet leave the ground when you make high contact....it's a lengthy holiday before your next game. That hit on Thomas is a classic example of launching into a vulnerable player.

Traditionally, the NFL is also about strength and explosive explosive explosive power that can legally be used to cause pain (not injure) your opponent. It traditionally was part of NFL defense to hit the offense hard to slow them down. To make them tentative.
      That era, maybe for the better, is ending. But it was exciting to watch it while it lasted.

      Double team. One press coverage on adams the other up field. As long it’s not head or neck area or lead with crown( top of helmet) it’s clean to me. Trust me if I’m wrong they’ll tell me lol

      CTE isn’t caused exclusively by “big hits”, it is the result of all the sub concussive hits that players take on a play to play basis.

      Brady came out and said that QBs throwing sloppy balls is what is causing all these "bad defensive penalties".
      A QB can throw a terrible hospital pass, get free yardage from a penalty, then get praised for getting a win as he got his receiver laid out.

    The fact that helmet to helmet hits are penalized 15 yards and often include being ejected, BUT STILL happen constantly, shows how impossible it is to remove those hits from the game. Players currently have all incentives to NOT do that, from big penalties, big fines, ejections, and even suspensions, but it's impossible to avoid certain impacts.

      @@syzygy4785no it’s not some hits are impossible to avoid helmet to helmet hits it’s part of the game the NFL needs to accept that it’s a contract sport at the end of the day plus since the NFL hyper focus on eliminating helmet to helmet hits injuries continue to be at an all time high in the NFL the league isn’t getting saver it’s getting more dangerous so their efforts are causing more injuries rather than reducing them each year it gets worst because players don’t know where or how to hit anymore like Ray Louis said if You simply let the game play out the game will take care of itself all these constant rule changes are making the game worst and less safe as the result either that or the player’s today are getting too soft

      Exactly, some of these are just accidents or bad timing, where the defense was trying to hit low, but the offensive player was going down. There's no way to avoid it sometimes.

      I remember I was an umpire for a softball league. Runner going to second after a hit to the outfield. Throw to infield was slightly off to first base side of second. With runner sliding in, fielder awkwardly fell on top of him. I thought I heard a snap, I think everyone did because it became eerily silent. Then the scream from the runner. I started running over from my first base position. Then I saw it. It was a clean break at the shin, looked like he was given a second knee. I totally noped out, and turned to call for a medic. This one reminded me of that.

      That was bad, arguably one of the worst ones in this video. When that snap happens, that specific pain when a bone breaks, seemingly never ends. To anyone who has ever broken a bone, you know that when you see someone else break a bone, you actually feel that specific aching type pain right where your break happened. It's like a phantom pain.
