Hard to compare, Mahomes is very talented but plays in an NFL closer to Flag Football. Brady and those before him played when QBs could get Body Slammed which was outlawed in 2018 when Mahomes came into the NFL. Watch here on RUclips "Elvis Dumervile Hits Tom Brady," Mahomes will never face such hits.

@@tedfio1tedfio1It’s been like this for some time now. Brady has easily 3-4 rings under the “flag football” rules. The idea that Brady played in a “different time” for his career is just simply not true.

    • @Roman-rb3cz
      @Roman-rb3cz 4 месяца назад +4

@@SebastianBrian15 If when QB could get body slammed was outlawed in 2018, then Brady only won 2 super bowls after this rule changed vs Mahomes has won all his Super Bowl rings after this rule. I do believe Mahomes is more athletic, can scramble and can run faster than Brady. But then again Mahomes was drafted in the first round and Brady was drafted 199th (6th round). Brady was supposed to be a back up QB at best, but because of his determination and Mow Lewis hit, he became the GOAT.

I’m not sure he is widely accepted as the GOAT. He should be, but there are a lot of haters out there who give him zero credit. They always say it was “the team.” 🤔 And how are those teams now without Brady? How great is the Patriots team without him? And how much of that “team” was there from his beginning to the last year on the Patriots? My point is, the team helped. But without Brady at the helm, there’s no way they would’ve had near the success they had. He is the GOAT.

In his 3 SB losses, TB had a chance to win or tie on the final possession.
This includes two failed Hail Mary's. One to win outright, the other needing a successful 2pt conversion to force OT.
Brady was *_this_* close to having 8, or even 9, championships.

To those who are ready to gloss over his whole career now that he’s off the field, I’ll say this: just remember how it felt. Remember how it felt for 20 years looking at schedule releases and chalking Patriots week up to a loss. Don’t forget what it felt like to be up by 6 with two minutes left, watching him jog onto the field and just *knowing* that there was no way to stop him. Hold on to all the times that you *almost* made that wild card slot, almost went on that playoff run, almost one that big one because you were up against Brady, and well, what were you ever gonna do? How many times did you pull your hair, cover your eyes, scream at the tv? He was a force of nature in football. He was like bad weather. The man single-handedly made games unfair for the other team. He never played a single snap where he was mathematically eliminated from winning the Super Bowl. His almost too-perfect backstory. It’s so easy to want to move on in the era of “goat” disputes, so easy to try to forget what this man did, to say “was he really that good?”. We’ll remember. No matter what they’ll say, we’ll remember how it felt to watch Brady play.

He came in at the perfect time with the perfect personal makeup, with a coach that had a similar mentality and high football IQ, and that led to what he was able to do. That's not taking anything away from him, he still had to go out there and be the model of consistency for 2 decades, but that consistency is a product of his mental attributes. So those stats are crazy but at some point someone will throw more TD,s and throw for more yards. They play what 2 more games a year now i wouldn't be surprised if in 20 years they play 4 more games so 20 total. They have also continuously made defenses worse in terms of what a D can do to stack the deck for QB'S to throw and the running game has been decimated.
What will truly make brady stand out is stuff like this. 22 seasons played in the playoffs 19 of those years. 17 times won his division. 14 conference championship games played in won 10 of them. 10 superbowls played in and won 7. That is unprecedented winning man. Add to that where it is known and not argued that before they went and got Moss he was still top of the league in passing with no weapons to throw to at all really. Then got weapons and was the most profilic passer ever. Dude did all the winning then got all the stats while winning then did all the winning again late in his career. It is an insane career the only one that comes anywhere close in terms of dominance is Tiger Woods or Michael Jordan as they both owned the sport when they played the difference NONE of them own the records like Brady does and NONE of them have the winning percentage that Brady does.
Someone will past the stats eventually like i said above in terms of tds yards etc but I do not see anyone passing those stats and maintaining the level of winning this man did throughout his career.

Not only did he go to a new team and win the super bowl but it was a pandemic and they didn’t have the pre season that year. So he went into a new team and didn’t have a chance to connect with any of his players. The only one he had was Gronk.

What amazes me most, is that he did all this while basically being one of the least athletically gifted players of all time. He was slow (5.24 40), awkward, even scrawny. He didn't possess a cannon, his deep ball was more of an afterthought than a threat, and he was hardly capable of stretching plays with creativity or scrambling. His release was quick but his follow through was almost comically long. The one thing he did, better than anyone, ever, was never overplay himself. He knew better than to play hero ball and as a result he just won, all the time. Who cares if 300 yards came off of a ton of short completions? A successful play is all that mattered to him, and I'm saying this as someone who can't stand Tom Brady. I can't imagine any QB in the NFL ever again playing like he did.

What made Brady great to me, is how he always performed when the game was on the line. The guy's ratio of scoring in the last two minutes with his team needing points to tie or win is just unreal. Too lazy to google it, but if he had at least 60 seconds he converted somewhere between 60-70 percent of the time. I mean its hard to recall in a big game when the patriots needed to score to win, and they actually had time, they he didn't come through. Even throwing to guys like hogan, amendola etc..I mean that Falcons superbowl comeback he had no Gronk. The epic at arrowhead was just awesome. I truly wish Brady could rewind 10 years and we could see him and Mahomes go at it, cause as of now, no one can touch Mahomes but Mahomes still 0-2 against Tom when it matters. But that epic at arrowhead was just two clutch players performing. Would have loved a decade of that.

People will talk about how good the pats teams were, but here’s the thing. Regardless of how decent those teams were you don’t just come out of the blue and win six rings and another with a new team. Sometimes how good the team was doesn’t matter if they can’t close the season out with the trophy at the end. Mahomes is really a similar case but more on the offensive side than Brady (tho Brady had solid weapons too). But my thing is this. Both sat out for a year after they got drafted. The pats were 5-11 in 2000 and the chiefs were 10-6 in 2017. Brady took over and went 11-5 while Mahomes went 12-4 after he took over. You can bring up stats, but here’s the thing. Mahomes threw 50 tds which is exceptional and 24 more than alex smith did, but only managed to win two more games. Brady put up meh stats but was able to win the Super Bowl and basically double the pats win total. That’s more impressive to me than what Mahomes did. I’m not discrediting Mahomes cuz what he did was awesome. Brady’s was a different level of impressive.

He was voted as the greatest in 2019 when the NFL celebrated it's 100th anniversary and he was voted as the greatest in back to back decades when the NFL names it's all Decade Team every 10 years. So unless you know more than all those Hall of Fame players and Writers who named him the greatest then I think I'll stick to what guy's who actually played the game have to say. If Joe Montana calls him the greatest player in NFL history I think I'll go with Joe over you. And in his 40's he's 2-0 against Mahomes

@@AlwaysHalloween000 well “greatest” is an opinion unless you define what makes a player great. Winning? Sure, but football is a team game of all team games. Stats? He definitely has those, partly due to longevity. Ability? I’d say he’s nothing special, unless you combine it with ability to perform under pressure, because he certainly has that.
My point is that it’s not that he isn’t great, but calling him the goat of qbs needs to be clarified, and calling him the goat of all players is an insult to linemen, receivers and linebackers who do incredible things that are measured completely differently.

Today, being a pocket passer with no mobility is RARE! Look at it this way, the opposing defense can plan for your lack of mobility and plan for the pass. For most QB's it would be a liability, but not Peyton and Tom... They would tear apart your defense, even with these disadvantages. That says a lot about their football IQ and passing ability. That's why you don't see to many pocket passers, they're simply a unicorn.
