The only thing that was stopping Adrian Peterson from being the greatest linebacker of all time was that he was already the greatest running back of all time

AP was the best "comeback" player ever. EVERYTIME he faced adversity, he responded. That's what I'll always remember. It wasnt just the injury. His "Ok, I'll show you" factor is GOAT.
Greatest football player I’ve ever seen in person. Absolute man amongst boys on every snap. OU legend and NFL Hall of Famer....should have been the first freshman Heisman too.

This is still the greatest comeback season from an injury that I've ever seen. AP was a monster when he was in Minnesota. AP hands down is a hall of famer whenever he decides to hang up the cleats
He changed what we thought was possible with an acl tear. People used to say it takes 18-24 months for a full recover and most guys could never be the same. Now guys are coming back 100% 8-12 months after surgery. He showed what was possible so that others could believe.
If not this year, next year! The defense is looking solid and the O-line is looking better, w/more time to throw the deep ball and have it covered - AP has more room once the hole's blown open. Fan for almost 50 yrs SKOL VIKES! \@/
I remember a sound bite where Saquon was sitting on the bench talking about about “How that’s Adrian Peterson. I used to watch his highlights, the comeback video all the time.”
My first years of watching football were the early 2010s when Peterson would put the team on our back. And of course being a young Vikings fan who only watched Vikings games, I thought that every team ran the ball all the time. Then I'd boot up Madden 11, play as the Vikings with 98 ovr Adrian Peterson, run HB dive the entire game and blow the Packers out by 60, rinse and repeat. Looking back at these years really shows how impressive the guy was. Peterson is the only guy in the modern era who could put the whole team on his back and lead them to success. and yes, other running backs have been superstars on their team but without Peterson, most of these Vikings teams were gonna be going 3-13 without him. Yet managed to sneak us into the wildcard. There won't be a story like this ever again
I consider Ap the Best running back of all time in that he has to play in pass centic league and modern defenses unlike all the other all time greats like Jim brown, Barry sanders and Walter Payton that played in a time where running the ball was easier and teams relied more on their running backs
When he was playing at Oklahoma, the only time I ever watched Oklahoma Football, I told everyone I know, that this guy is going to be one of the greatest RB's that the NFL has ever seen, I wish as a Saints fan we could have got him in 2007 but we had just drafted Bush and were to far down in the draft, AP is a monster and even though its late in his career Im glad to get to witness him in Black and Gold, hope we can get half of what he was when he came into the league.. If we get more then we are going to be a dangerous team this year!
This is perhaps one of my favorite youtube videos of all time. To see a man run with such determination, purpose and violence at the highest level is the antithesis of how football was supposed to be played. People will forget that he was the benchmark for ACL&MCL recoveries; before AP no one came back that quickly and was that effective EVER. Todays surgery, technology and roadmap to recovery has cleared the path for current players. Football has morphed into an arena-like game due to the suppression of physicality from excessive penalties. My hope is that someone else like All Day comes along and wrecks the nickel package and cover 2.
He will be back AGAIN. No doubt. He is unlike any running back physically. He will be back 2016-2017 season and we are bringing the super bowl to our house and winning it in our house
@Alexander Jones a lot of people were shocked when he hit 2k off a torn ACL and MCL in week 16 the year prior, and the running game in the NFL isn't what it used to be. I don't think he will, he has slowed down a good bit, but he still has the vision and elusiveness to be top 10.
my favorite video on the internet. its a crime they keep putting it down, however i gotta say i thought the other one was better with thunderstruck and dream on at the end it really pumped me up
I remember watching the Packers game at the end of the year and being in complete awe. They had ZERO offense outside of AD. 8-9 guys in the box. The Packers knew the offense was that bad. And AD just ripped them apart. He's the only guy I can remember watching who was a one-man offense. Barry Sanders was incredible, probably the best, but I never remember watching a guy in the modern age who was literally a one man offense at RB. Defenses could have put the entire team in the box and AD would have found a way. He ran a completely different style from Barry. Violent, ferocious, fearless. Those two guys are the best I've ever seen. But what AD did this season was something otherworldly.
Barry Sanders had amazing speed, agility and vision and was one of the greatest running backs of all time. But I’m sorry, AP had a raw power and second gear that will never be replicated. You can see it in his stride when he does this. He was like a Barry Sanders - Bo Jackson hybrid. I’ve never seen anyone run with that much power. He ran like a locomotive. This video shows the caliber of athlete he was coming back from injury like that and that quickly.
To give anyone else the mvp award would not have been only wrong, but a disregard of the greatest stretch of time in any sport of all time after a major injury
Records are based not just on the individual, but on the team they have around them.. I'm not a Vikings fan (not against them either), but AP is the best RB ever.. I love Emmit Smith, Eddie Gorge, L.T., etc... but NO ONE has performed as well as AP... based on super bowls, records, whatever.. it doesn't matter... based on skill NO ONE is as great as AP
What? You must not have watched football in the nineties, Barry Sanders ring any bells? Touted as the Most elusive back to play the sport and has two 2000 yard seasons, an MVP and all ten years he played he was a pro bowler. Never once dipped under 1000 yards a season. He's the greatest player in the league who never earned a ring, and he deserved one.
Correction, he could have been the best of all time. Missing a year for child abuse and another year for a knee injury pretty much killed his GOAT candidacy. He is still a future HOF'er, but somewhere in the top 20 or so, not best ever like he could have been.
I put Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton ahead of him. Peterson is in the next group including Smith, Dickerson, Faulk, Tomlinson, etc., but at that point it comes down to who your personal favorite is. My one caveat is Peterson isn't quite done yet. He could boost his standing with a 1,000 yard season over age 30.
He played when he played. He had 1950's training methods available, he did what he did. Nobody can touch his career average of over 105 rushing yards per game. It is not like a bunch of other running backs did that at that time. He was 30 years ahead of everyone else.
Adrian Peterson is such a inspiration! I have watched this many times after my knee surgery and he is such a soldier! Coming back stronger thanks to him. Adrian is one of the greatest men and football players to have lived 💪!
Die hard steelers fan here, however....this is my guy, this has always been my favorite player, at a time in my life when i needed motivation i saw a video about him and I stopped feeling sorry for myself and got to work. Watched every game he played after that injury, and just always felt different watching him, a true legend of the game.
I have been a Viking fan since I was 10 years old today IN 2020 I am 62 you do the math, normally when a player leaves the Vikings I say so long, but in this case Adrian Peterson will always be a Viking in my mind for as long as I live.....Skol 4 ever AD-AP.
I told my cousin that this is the greatest running back I'd ever seen as it was happening. And showed him this video, because it was this season. Thank you.
+Andy Gomez Honestly, I don't know. I'm gaining about the same amount every day which is a few hundred. So at this point I'll crack 100k soon but I won't go much higher for a long time unless something changes.
As a Vikes fan I loved watching him play. To come back the way he did after the knee injury, win the MVP, one of the greatest things I have seen in sports.
I thought there used to be a part where the announcers say "Carry your team, Adrian, CARRY THEM RIGHT INTO THE PLAYOFFS!" Which was my favorite part, gets me hyped every time! WHERE DID IT GO!!!!?
Was born in Minneapolis and been a fan of the Vikings ever since. Although we have not had good luck, and never gotten the coveted NFL championship, I have to say, we have the greatest memories over all other teams, hands down! Randy Moss, Adrian Peterson, and most recently, the Minnesota Miracle. Oh what a ride it has been, and just wait for 2018-19 baby...yeah we going to the Superbowl!

Uhm Barry sanders. You said it's not based off stats and the team around him. Barry didn't have a team it was him vs 11 guys every play.
Same thing with AD, AD has never had a team until this year...
Jimmi Nannberg 2009? Favre, Rice, Harbin?
Allen Stone I agree and I am a Vikings fan he is my favourite
The GOAT in regards to modern era RBs.
Adrian Peterson is easily the best rb all time.
Correction, he could have been the best of all time. Missing a year for child abuse and another year for a knee injury pretty much killed his GOAT candidacy. He is still a future HOF'er, but somewhere in the top 20 or so, not best ever like he could have been.
Stacie45 top 20, if he isn't #1 he is nothing past top 3
I put Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton ahead of him. Peterson is in the next group including Smith, Dickerson, Faulk, Tomlinson, etc., but at that point it comes down to who your personal favorite is. My one caveat is Peterson isn't quite done yet. He could boost his standing with a 1,000 yard season over age 30.
Stacie45 Jim brown? Lol he'd be half the player if he played in this decade. That was no competition at all back then
He played when he played.
Greatest rushing season I’ve ever seen
This man is so damn strong
Goosebumps once again!
Thank you.
Adrian, Minnesota needs you
A.p Still Is A Good Running Back
N I’m Glad He’s On The RedSkins
To Write another chapter 👍
Phil Davis he off the football team now
how do u not have more subs
+Andy Gomez Honestly, I don't know. I'm gaining about the same amount every day which is a few hundred. So at this point I'll crack 100k soon but I won't go much higher for a long time unless something changes.
Joseph Vincent u make great vids
Andy Gomez Thanks! I always appreciate the encouragement
+Joseph Vincent hey man I love it just how it is now!
+Joseph Vincent Man can We get a Eric Dickerson from my Hometown Sealy, TX though..
As a Vikes fan I loved watching him play.
To come back the way he did after the knee injury, win the MVP, one of the greatest things I have seen in sports.
This will always be one of my favorite RUclips videos of all time
I thought there used to be a part where the announcers say "Carry your team, Adrian, CARRY THEM RIGHT INTO THE PLAYOFFS!" Which was my favorite part, gets me hyped every time! WHERE DID IT GO!!!!?
This is the new video
Always the beast, even when with redskins. Coming from a redskins fan, one of the best trades for us. Still the beast as 33, as he was in 23
Agree! With Gruden gone and Rivera now the coach he will get the carries. He is such a incredible athlete.
Tell me he won the MVP that year.
He did.
Watch the fucking video
Was born in Minneapolis and been a fan of the Vikings ever since. Although we have not had good luck, and never gotten the coveted NFL championship, I have to say, we have the greatest memories over all other teams, hands down! Randy Moss, Adrian Peterson, and most recently, the Minnesota Miracle. Oh what a ride it has been, and just wait for 2018-19 baby...yeah we going to the Superbowl!
Bro got a career ending injury to the average man and came back better then ever in one year also that 2012 season was my fav from randy mosses last season to megatron to Adrian Peterson great times
Imagine this guy with cow boys line..... 5 k yards
Who’s here after Titans signed him?
4th down and 30 I’m running half back dive with AP

Dee Bo greatest of all time? Lmao not even close. He's good, but not the greatest. Bo Jackson was better than him.
Chris Paul... Ah yeah; top 10 u say? top 10? now when it comes to talent running the ball and athleticism where do u put him
Truly the best Runningback to ever play the game!
Defenetly not.
+Joshua Orrillo one of..not the best.. jim brown buddy
Jim Brown is not the best ever
+Joshua Orrillo i dont care what you say. jim brown is the goat

If they had a real QB... yeesh
Onion Man they did 1 season with Brett Farve
@@PersonaofWill he was still cold af and a top QB at the time
@@PersonaofWill wym
@@PersonaofWill but he was still good, what does his prime years have to do with anything
Here in 2024 and still no one can do it like this man AD did. He was a man among boys out there.
I always come back here to watch this video for motivation, forever my fav running back.
2:27 So 395 bicep curls. Gotta get that stiff arm game up
I was like wtf lol
the guy who's talking sometimes sounds like arnold schwarzenegger
That's cuz it is
+Imaboss1337 aha!
I liked the old one better
yea
Keeps coming all day! He recovered unlike anybody else because their is nobody like him. Freak athlete
This guy bar none was the greatest running back in the history of the nfl
Can’t wait to see Saquon Barkley’s comeback video.
Who’s here after Saquon’s injury
I'm not a hater but I hate that A.P. isn't already considered G.O.A.T.3 Jerry is the GOAT, Berry is a close second, & then u have names like Moss, T.O. A.P.,
Brian Nock it’s cause he doesn’t have a ring
ToolShed BootyGoon nor does moss
I love the Minnesota Vikings I've been a fan for over 50 years, I've been through all 4 Super Bowl Losses, I'm what you call a Die hard Viking fan I'm also Adrian Peterson fan and with my last breath I will say I love you AP no matter who you play for, you will always be a Viking to me and many others....As the Skol to the Bowl continues in 2020.
biggest inspiration, if anyone has had an injury...they need to remember this season
IK I am biased being a lifelong Vikings fan but is AP not a consensus top 5 RB IN NFL HISTORY? No on in their prime was more dominate
