I don’t know if anybody will read this comment but God saved me from homosexuality , and I didn’t commit any sexual acts with this person. I genuinely believed I “loved” this person and I was going to marry them at one point . But to be honest , I don’t think I ever really did love this person and I’m sorry if they read this, I did love them as a best friend. At the time I felt very alone and scared, my father had just left and I was only 11. I felt unworthy , and as I’ve reflected over the years that love that I felt was something that I just wanted because my father wasn’t with me. I wanted to fill the hole in my heart with something. And I stayed with that person for 6 years, and I struggled with anorexia aswell. I came to God 2 years ago, and he saved me. Guys, I was literally so attached to this person I thought I couldn’t live without them. God saved my life, I would be dead by now if it wasn’t for him. I was so suicidal, and depressed , life felt like it was never going to get better :/ it was hard for me to to leave, but God wanted me and he wanted my whole heart . He didn’t want half of it, he wanted all of it. And to be honest I wanted someone to want me badly and God wanted me. So I left the relationship. It was hard and were still good friends but it is a bit awkward sometimes. God saves and he changed my life. It feels almost like a miracle, I remember praying to God to help me leave this person and he did ❤ my heart has no desire for them anymore. It now desires to be perfect for God. I desire to feel Gods love :) He is my father figure. And he will never abandon me or you. Thank you God for your mercy and kindness for taking me out of Sheol. And thank you for the internet for helping me share this comment. Amen. Amen. amen bless all of you.

So it stops being a sin when you're proficient? That's silly. You can't get good at it unless you practise it first.

Wahh, hello. I'm not here to judge but I just wanted to ask if you converted religions from Christianity since your current profile pic is of (I think?) a Buddha statue? Not really expecting a response (it's been like 3 whole years since this comment sorry!! I'm curious!!) but if you've left the faith it's sad to see you go. :( Hope that's not the case but if it is, I can't help but pray for you because of 2 Peter 2:20-22 (the whole of 2 Peter 2, really) - "If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. Of them the proverbs are true: 'A dog returns to its vomit,' and, 'A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.'" If it isn't the case and you're still Christian, I feel like I should offer a gentle suggestion as a fellow Christian to perhaps avoid having Buddha as a profile pic, but if you're Buddhist now, my bad!!! Super sorry if this is too nosy; I know the verse I quoted can feel harsh but I can't bypass the seriousness of it in good conscience. :(

And it was not, it was embarrassing and awkward and strange for me and I fell into a rabbit hole of depression and loneliness. No matter how many times the number went up, i was not satisfied. The hunger only grew bigger. When Christ opened my eyes I made the choice to be straight again, that was a year and 6 days ago. I still have temptations, I still have a problem every now and then. @@dariusurbanovic6797 sexual is in the word bisexual. To be gay is, by definition, a sexual preference. But it was also an addiction. Experimentation became a problem. In Romans chapter 1:26-27 it says, “For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due." This is happening to a lot of people. Burning in our lust for one another and leaving behind what is good and natural so that we can simply satisfy a guilty pleasure. It starts with lust and ends in confusion. I had to change.

From what you described you're probably Bisexual and heteroromantic, where you're attracted to both genders sexually, but only romantically to women. But in the end, it's your sexuality and your business if you want to go by any labels.
And you really shouldn't expect people to be exactly like you, sexuality is pretty complicated and all people experience it differently. Some bisexual people aren't romantically interested in the opposite sex at all and that's fine, because it's literally just their business.
I understand that same-sex attraction was draining and uncomfortable for you and that's completely fine, you shouldn't be expected to do anything you don't want to and neither should anyone else.

But then I had friends who supported me and one of my very religious friends told me that me being homosexual was no different to any other person in this world because everyone is a sinner and sins everyday so there is nothing stopping me from becoming a Christian even though i was gay. Im still trying to figure out why I was because in the video, it doesn't really tackle that. while sure, my homosexuality is just like every other sin, i still didn't choose it and that is different to other sins like theft, lying or greed as that is something you can act upon while you cant change or do anything with your sexuality. It’s the same for sex and marriage, marriage is reserved for one man and one woman, anything outside of that will burn your house down, that’s why most are against it including me

With the examples you’ve given the difference might be that theft and deceit are more momentary decisions, and ssa is constant in comparison. But it’s not the only sin like that. Personally I struggle with sloth/ drunkenness. In the flesh I don’t ever want to do anything or be mentally present. This is a result of internal and external factors but at this point it is what it is. The point is that, similarly to your ssa, this is an inclination that I have present with me in every decision, activity, moment of my life etc. I do not choose this feeling. I just always have it. And it is distinctly different from what I actually want. So, even if it’s not something dominating and obvious we are all constantly fighting sinful inclinations of some kind. We do have a sinful nature after all.

@@fiji.christianblueWell nobody is inherently gay or straight. Nobody is born that way. Nobody is specifically straight. Our bodies are capable of attraction to both. It is all a mindset.
Even the straightest of men and gayest of women aren’t set to that. They aren’t made that way.
      It’s a way of thought.
Even the gayest of lesbians can be attracted to or fall in love with a man.
      Why?
Because sexuality isn’t something set in stone.
      Attraction isn’t set in stone.
      It’s based on the mind.
But yes, homosexuality throughout multiple points has been declared a sin.
When we say sin is forgivable it’s not some free pass. Turn the other cheek isn’t just to anyone. It’s to those who genuinely seek repentance.
You are all oblivious. It doesn’t work like a “you just have to try” pass.
You have to be reborn of god.
      John 14:23
      1 John 3
Meaning you turn from nearly all sin. Being nearly sinless.
However, you must be extremely repentance toward the sin you do commit.
If I slap you in the face, you are gonna say “hey! What’s you do that for?”
If I say, “but it wasn’t really that hard” degrading what I did.
Or “I’m sorry, I won’t do it again.” Those are simply words.
      Actions go farther.
      Faith without works is dead.
Imagine I slap you again later on.
You say,”Why did you hit me again?”
      I say, “I’m sorry, I won’t do it anymore!”
This time trying to use stronger words to show more care.
This process continues until about the 4th time.
You put your arm near me, and I get tense.
      You hit me again.
At this point, your words have little to no value for me to take.
The 5th time, you move your arm and I flinch.
The last few times, there is only me saying what Jesus says.
      1 John 3:6-9
Those who truly follow christ and are born again, will not know much sin.

personally i interpret it as the same way sex before marriage was a sin, homosexuality was a sin because gay marriage wasnt even a concept. the same way we see in timothy, "women shall not teach over men" was in the context that AT THE TIME women were uneducated. Now plenty of women teach over men, because we are afforded the education to do so. I believe that the same way homosexuality is now legal in some countries, u can partake free of sin as u would in a hetero relationship

This is probably the best explanation of this topic that I've ever seen on the internet! I just bookmarked it to give to people, when I have discussions with them about homosexuality. I love how you kept going back to scripture and you also have so much love and kindness in how you presented it. And even having your LGBTQ friend on the video to help edit your script is just awesome! I am a Christian who has personally struggled with SSA and has identified as bisexual in the past. There is so much hope that the true gospel offers to people! I have experienced this joy and freedom found in Jesus! The narrow path of dying to our fleshly desires is hard and painful in the moment (Matthew 7:13-14). But the abundant life that Jesus offers everyone is SO MUCH better than the hopelessness of living in sin! This includes ALL sin, not just homosexuality. If you're reading this and you struggle with SSA, there is hope for you found in Jesus! Repent and experience the new life that He offers. Be blessed, dear friend

We ought to love them and preach the gospel to them like anyone else. And if they are a Christian we ought to do what we can to support them fighting their sinful urges, not encouraging the sin or condemning them for having the urge, but helping them through prayer and scriptures.

As a Christian, I clicked this video with a healthy dose of scepticism, but I was pleasantly surprised at how clearly and competently you communicate the Christian stance on homosexuality while compromising on neither the love Jesus commands us to have, nor the discernment between moral right and wrong. When people say Jesus loved you, they mean it! Take it from dude who had purple hair just to show off the fact that hes attracted to men and prided himself in it. Thank God tho, because He really humbled and comforted me, and showed me His great big love for me and every human being. Come to Him as you are, theres this saying, you dont wash yourself before you get into a bath, so come to God as you are and let His love shown through Jesus sacrifice for us all change you in due time, one step at a time ❤

"Now regarding the questions you asked in your letter. Yes, it is good to abstain from sexual relations. But because there is so much sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman should have her own husband. . . . But I wish everyone were single, just as I am. Yet each person has a special gift from God, of one kind or another. So I say to those who aren’t married and to widows-it’s better to stay unmarried, just as I am. But if they can’t control themselves, they should go ahead and marry. It’s better to marry than to burn with lust."

I loved your addition of your friend, this really made this video work much better.
I mostly agree, I'll make a few nitpicks:
-Lev 20 is civil law, not moral law, so no longer applies. Lev 18 does though, and unlike many I'd say *all* of Lev 18 still applies (apart from the "cut off from the people" bit at the end).
-I'm not sure if I agree with your exegesis of Ephesians 5.
-But in any case (for Christians at least) we don't need to speculate reasons for why various types of sexual immorality is wrong because the bible already tells us in 1 Cor 6: 12-20. There is the question remaining of why non-Christians (who don't have the holy spirit) are also sinning when committing sexual immorality, but clearly that's a secondary concern. The bible also tells us in 1 Cor 5: 12 that the sexual sin of non-Christians is not our concern.

@@joeythemuffin6748 The Bible states no such thing, that's an old wives' tale. How can a harmless biological trait that someone doesn't choose be a sin? Unless your Bible has been mistranslated to say that, which has happened since the 1970s.
The Bible clearly says that what is a sin is hurting people, failure to love. Everything boils down to that Mat 7.12, Mat 22.40, Rom 13.8-10, Micah 6.8. That makes religious oppression of gay relationships is a sin.
"God" doesn't describe anything. The Bible refers to marriage as it was practised at the time, a dominant male over one (or more in the OT) submissive females. But it says nothing one way or the other about two men or two women.

@@Mikayla-mk6qv I did watch the video, but it was a while ago so I don't remember all her details. IIRC she claims that homoxesuality is not a sin. She thinks acting on the desire is. Trouble is, the video is incorrect.
Homoxesuality was discovered late 19th cent so there's no way it's in the Bible or in long-standing Christian tradition either.
The issue in the Bible was that placing a male in a woman's role in bed (or bluntly, to poke a guy tween the legs) denigrated him because he was placed in the role of a social inferior. A woman taking an active role with a man also shamed him. The issue in later Christian tradition is that all non-reproductive secs is a sin even between husband and wife. So you see in neither case was the issue homoxesuality.
The two ideas that specifically homoxesual desire is a sin, and that acting on that desire is inherently sinful developed only a few decades ago as a result of mistranslated Bibles coming out since the 70s. The justification that it was because God designed us for man and woman only developed a few years later. These false ideas, however, do incalculable harm to the point where children suffer anguish, shame, rejection, illness, even death. This video tries to apply a bandaid by claiming "God still loves you just don't act on it" without realizing how dehumanizing this can be.
About sinning in your heart ... it means that the harm begins with a wish to do it even before you've done it. Jesus taught that our attitude should be to want to do good and not to even entertain what might hurt others. Paul wrote that "love your neighbour" fulfils ALL God's commands. Did you look up the verses I gave you? These scriptures make loving gay relationships right and condeming them wrong.

This isn't for me mainly though I do find myself having attractions to both genders but I have some queer friends that don't really believe in christ because they think that either they aren't good enough or feel shunned because a lot of Christians say that all homosexuals are going to hell 😔

Hey friend, welcome to the family of Jesus! I'm sorry some Christians have given you and your friends the impression that gay people can't have Jesus. Here's what I believe!
All sins are forgivable. Jesus came to save sinners! If we put our faith in Him, we will be saved. Whether our sin is homosexual, heterosexual, or non sexual, it's all sin, and Jesus is bigger than it.
When we become Christians we don't magicly at the snap of a finger no long desire sin. But even when we have the Holy Spirit we still sin and struggle with sin. It doesn't matter what sin you still struggle with, you will still be saved as long as your faith is in Jesus.
So to answer your question, yes people with same sex attraction can go to heaven. Even if they've acted on it. The only requirement for heaven is true faith in Jesus. True faith in Jesus does include pursuing righteousness and running from sin, but it does NOT include being perfect or doing everything right.
Here are some verses I think apply
      2 Corinthians 12:9, Romans 6:14, Hebrews 4:16, Galatians 5:17, Romans 7:20-25
I recommend reading the book of Romans! It gives fantastic information on how salvation works.

  • @bug688

Hi, this comment is not meant to provoke anyone, or meant to disrespect any religion. Just asking questions.
Okay so homosexuality is a sin. And according to your explanation, gay people should repress their sinful urges, which you admit must be hard.
I want to clear up some things before we get started. Homosexuality is not all ‘sexual’ thoughts. Lots of people attribute homosexuality to just the ‘sex’. For example, when two men hold hands in the street, or a kid is taught that different types of families exist, a lot of people come out of the woodworks to equate it to pornography, and deem it ‘repulsive’ and ‘vulgar’. No. Homosexuality is not a ‘lifestyle’, it’s not ‘whomever you sleep with in the bedroom’. It’s who you are and who you love. It’s that feeling of the butterflies in your stomach when you have a crush, the warmth you feel when see your partner smiling, and the small moments you share. Now, saying homosexuality is just pure and tender and fluffy is diluting the discourse just as much as reducing homosexuality to sex is. Obviously, sex and homosexuality are not separate, in fact they are inextricably tied. But that is just as much true for heterosexual couples. Defining homosexual lust as particularly sinful rather than heterosexual lust (if it’s regulated and controlled after marriage), does raise some eyebrows from me, but that is not the point of my comment, or my question (though feel free to answer that if you’d like).
What I’m more interested is: what is the intended solution for gay people in Christianity?
The reason I took so long to distance homosexuality from the viewpoint that it is just ‘sex’, is to reason with Christians the difficulty of what you are asking. When you say ‘deny those sinful urges’, that sounds like you are barring queer people from having any fulfilling romantic relationships- to reject all the experiences that could equate to love. Is that true?
I’m not shaming anyone who thinks this, I just want to know your opinion. This is a difficult topic, but it’s one that has to be had because it would be nice if some Christians could better understand the difficulty of the queer experience.
(And for the people who say that accepting Christ can rid you of your homosexuality, or you’ve had a religious experience that turned you straight… that is nice for you, but it would be helpful to understand that some people have begged and tried so much harder than most people can imagine for that same experience, and it didn’t work. That does not mean they weren’t ‘Christian’ enough, it just means that your experience, isn’t THE experience.)

    • @SKNoName49
      @SKNoName49 Месяц назад

Hello! While I can't exactly answer all your questions, I do want to clarify that heterosexual lust is also a sin: "But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart." - Matthew 5:28. And we already know that adultery is a sin, according to the Ten Commandments, which come from God "Thou shall not commit adultery"- Exodus 20:14.
Also, I can't relate to feeling homosexual while also being a Christian, but I'll say that Christians struggling with this should continue to pray, and no one knows exactly when or how long they could wait to get their prayers answered but in that time its important to keep your faith in God that He can get you through it.
Love was never created to be anything other than between a woman and a man. This does mean that according to the bible homosexuality is a sin, just like stealing, lying, etc. When you accept Jesus, He doesn't expect you to suddenly get rid of these sins; it takes time. That's why he forgives us when we keep going back to a certain sin we are struggling in. "Denying the sinful urges" was never supposed to be easy, but God shows us grace and also helps us. On the other hand, this doesn't mean we continue to sin because he forgives us every time. If you truly love God, then you would want to follow his Word and will and try your best to not give in to those sins. I also want to point out that homosexuality, while being challenging to give up for most, is not a greater sin than any other (and that includes heterosexual lust).
So if you think about it, even if we try to get rid of all these sins (like homosexuality), we will still fall short because we are not perfect. There is so solution to sin, in general. Maybe, yes, we can overcome homosexuality, but we will always eventually fall again into some sort of sin because we are human. Jesus didn't completely remove sin, he forgave them. The good thing is that Christianity is about having faith in God, and once we are saved, no sin can take that away.
I hope this helps somewhat :)

"I prayed for years for God to make me straight. He didn't"
      To quote John Bevere...
"If your experience was anything like mine, you were exposed to porn at a young age. I was twelve when a friend showed me a magazine, and it grabbed hold of me.
When I got saved, some struggles left immediately. I stopped living like a frat kid, going to parties and drinking excessively. I was instantly freed from cussing. But my struggle with porn proved far more stubborn, even extending into the first couple years of my marriage. It seemed that no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t break free.
Then, I went on a four-day fast, and I was completely delivered.
Puzzled, I asked God why, for so long, it seemed I couldn’t break free no matter what I tried-but then one day, the bondage finally broke. What He showed me was that, before getting free, I was sorrowful over my sin, but it was the wrong kind of sorrow.
Paul tells us, “For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death” (2 Corinthians 7:10 ESV).
When I couldn’t get free, I was afraid of the consequences that continuing to struggle could have in my life. I didn’t want it to ruin my ministry or my marriage.
Leading up to the time when I got free, everything changed, I began to be grieved that my sin was hurting the hearts of those I loved. This was godly sorrow-a sorrow motivated not by fear of personal loss, but by love for God and others. And it produced a deep repentance in my heart.
If you are struggling to get free, the first question you need to ask yourself is: “Who is the focus of my sorrow?” Do you have worldly sorrow, fearing the personal consequences of your sin? Or do you have godly sorrow, driven by genuine love?
The first kind of sorrow will keep you bound. The latter will lead you toward freedom.
Today, I want you to pray that God would produce godly sorrow in you. Ask to know Him more intimately, and that you would be genuinely grieved over any sin that would get in the way of that intimacy. When you get your motivation right, it makes all the difference. "
John Bevere also gives an example of one of his friends, to further illustrate his point.
"A number of years ago, I had a friend who was addicted to smoking cigarettes. Despite knowing how bad the habit was for him, he would still find himself smoking four packs a day. For years, he prayed and asked God to set him free from it, but nothing changed.
Then, one day, he saw a friend in his church get instantly delivered from the same problem.
      My friend was so frustrated.
Angry, he went to God and exclaimed, “I’ve been crying out to You for two years! Why haven’t You delivered me?!”
God spoke to him and said, “Because you still like it.”
He was stunned, overcome by the revelation that God couldn’t deliver him from something he still liked and desired. That’s because God will never override our free will. He repented, asking God to help him to stop desiring the very thing that kept him in bondage, and was instantly delivered. This man went from smoking four packs of cigarettes a day to none-and he’s been free till this day.
Paul exhorts us, “Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good” (Romans 12:9 NKJV).
If you want to get free, you can’t be double-minded. You must passionately hate the sin you want to be free from. It was only when my heart began to break over how my struggle with porn was breaking God’s heart that I began walking in freedom. When I started to see my sin the way God sees it-for the destructive, damaging, detestable thing that it was-I hated it through and through.
Pray that God would help you see your sin for what it is. Ask Him to help you hate it. When there is no part of you that still loves your sin, you’ll find it so much easier to let go of."

I believe most of the bible especially the New Testament, however, Genesis feels too unreal to put too much faith in but i believe the main point of the story of Adam and Eve is that the reason why we sin is because of the devil's temptations. He tells us that "God doesn't want you to do this because he wants to keep you below him" So it pushes us to disobey God directly. But i think the reason that God kept it this way is to give the Earth an actual point or use. Whats the point of being here if we're already perfect and without sin. We would have unlocked all the achievements and secret achievements of life by now. It wouldn't make sense as we would all inevitably end up in heaven. So we probably have sin so God can test our resilience and tolerance against temptation and more importantly, to see how faithful we really are in following His will.

In my opinion, I'm on the fence about sin and homosexuality. I feel like it should abide by the rules that straight couples need to follow. If gay couples follow the rules expressed in the bible then I feel like it's legitimate. An lgbt person shouldn't have to damage their mental wellbeing by denying a romantic and consentual relationship just to follow Jesus.
the bible was translated and created by mankind. Mankind is selfish and will lie to further their own political agenda and will mistranslate or lie about the bible in order to do so. The Bible was written thousands of years ago so we'll never truly be able to get a clear answer.
There's a lot of nuance to this and it's not as simple as "yes it's sinful" or "no it's not a sin" . as long you're kind and respectful to others and not hateful towards lgbt people then I don't really care if someone thinks it's a sin or not. Just be nice and don't play as judge, jury and executioner.

    • @audreyneel9931
      @audreyneel9931 Месяц назад +2

i would just like to share my opinion if that’s ok. I don’t think a romantic relationship should be prioritized before Jesus. When you say “an lgbt person shouldn’t have to damage their mental well-being by denying a romantic and consensual relationship *just* to follow Jesus” i feel like it’s sort of downplaying Jesus’ importance in our lives. I mean, if you choose to think differently i won’t judge you but i don’t agree. Christianity views Jesus as more important as anything else. But that being said!!! i don’t think God ever wants to harm you, but he does give you challenges. It never says in the Bible that it’s easy being a Christian or that it means you can do whatever you want. Being a Christian you sort of have to be full in or full out. you can’t choose a few ideas from the Bible to agree with and just disagree with ones you don’t like. Also i don’t want to imply that i thought you were doing that i’m just sharing some things to support my opinion. Also, when we accept our forgiveness for our from Jesus dying on the cross we repent from them, meaning we turn away. We can’t be perfect and that’s the whole reason Jesus had to die for us anyway but we should have a desire to do what God wants us to do if we are forgiven and children of God. So with that conclusion, i would say i think that people just have to choose because if you don’t feel you need to give up some sinful things in order to be able to follow Jesus i don’t think He really matters to you all that much
also i know it’s not always as easy as just being like oh ok i’m gonna give up these sinful ways immediately. it takes a lot to get to bad place, it also takes a lot to get out of it. it applies to all sin and i’m not saying i’m not guilty of sin or that im a professional at this. so like if you lie a lot for example it would be hard to just immediately break the habit, but it’s something you work on. there’d be a lot to say to cover all my thoughts on this but i hope it made sense and i can explain anything i said if it doesn’t. have a blessed day

Not exactly, and it's no mystery.
The Hebrew OT said "do not lie with a male a woman's bed, it's against our religion". The NT said "male bedders will not inherit the kingdom of God". Their concern was that because women were assumed inferior to men, putting a male in a woman's role in bed denigrated him. Obviously we don't think that anymore, so what the Bible said is well and truly obsolete.
In NT times, it was very common for men (including straight men, even married to women) to deliberately denigrate enslaved boys as an act of domination. This is probably the reason for the strong language.
Unfortunately, because what's in the Bible was confused with homoxesuality, the church blew it out of all proportion and started insisting that being something over which people have no control and that hurts no one is a sin.

Your question doesn't make sense and has no answer. "Being gay" like "being straight" is an innate enduring pattern of attraction including a capacity to intimately love another human being. They're neither right nor wrong. People are how they are and neither you nor they have any say in it.
Rather, "what counts is faith working in love" Gal 5. Love is both necessary and sufficient to obey God Rom 14. What's sin is failure to do so: infidelity, greed, arrogance, abbuse, exploitation.
      Does that help you?

Former Christian here. I had this exact same stance on homosexuality myself and didn't understand why it was problematic for a long time. For one thing, conversion therapy doesn't work. There's mountains of evidence against this. What that means is that a gay person called to follow Christ never develops heterosexual attractions, so their only option if they aren't bisexual is to remain celebate for life. There's not really a satisfactory answer in the Bible except "God wills it" and "God's ways are higher than our ways" except no one can go to God and ask why. I strongly believe that it was man's teachings and justified this bigotry by saying that God told them so so that they can never be questioned.

I'm a Roman Catholic woman, and even though I prefer to be romantically involved with men, I think that God loves all His children equally and unconditionally from the inside out. The Fascist parties in Europe durung the 30s and 40s all said otherwise and used that to persecute and kill people; their very own philosophies ended up being their downfalls. The Falanga, the Camizia Nere, the Ustashe and the Nazis all plotted to assassinate Pope Pius XII for saying that God loves His children equally, regardless of what's on the outside; this doesn't just apply to what's around the person's neck. I don't care who you're romantically involved with, it's not a justified reason to kill and/or persecute people. I have friends that are gay, but even though I choose to do things different, they're still my friends. God loves all His children equally and unconditionally.

Here’s some general advice, and this applies for really any sin. Repenting for your sins isn’t as simple as just saying or thinking “I’m sorry for doing those bad things” and then moving on. Repenting is fully understanding what you did wrong, having some sort of guilt for it, and then thinking “What can I do to change this?”
Say for example that I am struggling with lust and s3xual desires. If I just say “I’m sorry for searching up these things.” and then go back to falling to my sins because “God forgives all”, I don’t actually have the desire to be forgiven, and therefore I won’t be forgiven. But if I do feel guilty for my sin and I do pray and try to make a change, then I am truly repenting. Yes no one is perfect and we all make mistakes, but we still have to understand what we did wrong and try our best to change.
Lemme know your thoughts if you have any different perspectives.

Hi there! I know your comment wasn’t really meant for me, but I was hoping I could help answer your questions! ❤
Ok, first up: is it sinful to be aromantic/asexual? I would say, looking at the Bible, obviously it never expressly discusses asexuality. However, Jesus tells us that lust is a sin, and we know that sex OUTSIDE of marriage is a sin; and, Paul tells all believers that it’s not a sin to not get married. (In fact, he said it was better not to get married.) That being said, sexual sin stems from lust, and from sex outside of God’s perfect design. And since asexuality has nothing to do with lusting or committing sexual sin, I think it’s safe to say neither being aromantic or asexual. Sorry that first one had such a complicated answer! If you still have questions and/or my answer didn’t make sense, I would highly recommend gotquestions.org’s article on this topic!
Now onto question two! Basically, is it a sin to ship same sex characters in it’s each other?
Again, the Bible doesn’t discuss this topic exactly, however, we are told in 1 Timothy 6:11 to flee from sin, and if homosexuality itself is a sin, we shouldn’t be supporting the sin in any way shape or form, but rather fleeing from it ourselves, and being loving and kind to people who struggle with that sin.
All blessings to you, and I hope that this answered your questions, I’m sorry it was so long! Feel free to ask if you have anymore questions! 😊

Like always with this topic as a gay Christian, I’m sobbing like a whale.
I’m ace (not naturally I think, but more due to internal repression and association with sin and disgust and maybe trauma) and a lesbian, meaning I don’t want sex but I’ve never found men pretty like I find woman.
I also dislike the marriage metaphor as I prefer the children and Father one, mixing the two makes me thing of incest, and I think submission of the wife is sexist because everyone I’ve met who goes by this are.
    But this isn’t the topic.
I’ve reconverted abec years of closing my heart firmly three years and a half ago, and I’ve hone to church for two years now. I adore God and the message He carries, I have a strong faith despite some doubts about my place in Christianity.
Why? Because I’ve internalised some Christian’s homophobia and used the word against me for the longest time, that and my logical beliefs don’t always aline with the Bible’s.
I’m not a creationist, for me Adam and Eve and only a metaphor and don’t ligne up with actual evolution and science, so this specific explanation in the Bible doesn’t make sense.
Plus, many animals, even if not made in God’s image, can live homosexuality, although I think it’s not nearly as complicated as human’s homosexuality because they aren’t self-aware.
I think most people naturally are attracted to both, so to me it just doesn’t make sense.
    I don’t understand God’s project…
I’m considering giving up my dream of raising children with a romantic partner, being married and all. I’ll just raise them with platonic co-parenting I suppose, but if I want to avoid sin I’ll have to stay single all my life, because I don’t like men.
The rational part of me and all non-believers I know would or are terribly concerned on my faith’s negative affect on me (don’t get me wrong, it’s rare and God made my life great) and that I’m getting brainwashed to hate myself and abandon all reason, to think I chose to be gay when I didn’t.
I’ve already panicked at the idea of getting in rolled into a cult, even if I know that’s not really the case I’ve decided to maybe not follow things in the Bible until I learned to make sense of them.
I feel so conflicted, the book I read everyday doesn’t make sense half of the time and even contradicts itself.
    I don’t know man

Like the requirements to go to heaven is simply to believe in god and Jesus, that he died for us and to repent for our sins, all of which even gays can do so I've always been like irritated when some people just go up to them and condemn them to hell
God said he forgives us for whatever sin we have done, ofc also including homosexuality, i think what they need to do is just to try not to participate in homosexual acts and repent if they do, like we all do to literally any sin

  • @MicroplaysMC

As a Catholic I think it's a massive problem with the Christian community with the lack of love they have for others. "If you do not love, you do not know God, for God is love." Jesus did not rebuke the prostitute for being unclean, He comforted her. Christians need to understand that while the LGBT movement is a perversion of God's design, most of the people who buy into it are already morally lost - we do not lead the blind by hitting them, we lead them by the hand. I have a friend who is bi, and has struggled with substance abuse, and I can say that by supporting him he has had far more stability and openness to the truth than if I were to condemn and alienate him. If you are a Christian and you EVER condemn someone for ANY sin that they commit, you are only condemning yourself when God uses your own standards against you. This is scripturally obvious. You're not better than anyone else.
The most important commandments that which the rest hang upon; Love God, Love others.

The false premise is that God makes people like this. All God's creatures have agency. Humans, angels, and demons. Their/our actions all make the world like it is. It isn't just God up there playing the Sims and manipulating everything that happens. Some things are out of joint because of sin.
There is good news in this. What we do matters. Just as our faithlessness can make the world worse, our faithfulness can make it better. That is our job here. God will make all things right in the end. But we can be a part of that. If we make some little thing right, then it's God making it right through what we are doing. When we do good, we are literally doing God's work. And doing what God does makes us more like him.

@@huntz0r Dude thank you SO much for writing this comment. I literally feel like crying. I've been so depressed lately and borderline suicidal that just everything feels upside down and I'm always getting fought for what I believe. Instead you are the rare person actually trying to help me understand God better, which is the very thing I'm really struggling with right now.
I thought that if it's true that same-sex attraction is a biological thing, then it was God's fault which made me doubt in God for making people like that. But if I'm understanding you correctly, what you're saying is that sin isn't just something that is a thing on its own, but is something that affected creation in general which explains sinful tendencies. When Adam and Eve sinned, ALL of creation was cursed because of it. And that means the human biology as well (thus cancer, disease, etc.). I know I can't confirm or deny whether or not same-sex attraction is a biological thing because I'm not a biologist, but I've seen enough of people's accounts of it (and from my own experience) that it's not really something that we can just simply stop feeling. But the argument that it's not wrong to be gay because it's a natural thing that happens in biology still doesn't excuse practicing homosexuality from being sin because it's a sinful tendency that happened because of the curse because of Adam and Eve's sin. Another example is death. Everyone thinks death is natural, because in our sinful world, it is. But originally before the fall, death was not a natural thing. Death is the direct result of sin, so we have to live with it for now until Christ comes again.
I know that's a big paragraph lol, sorry. I'm just really glad to be understanding things better, and it's helping me understand God better, so thank you!! Also thank you for telling me the "good news" part too. Too many Christians stop at the first part, and that's why so many people think Christians are just homophobic. It's because people don't understand that we Christians are just trying to save them from themselves.
