  • Today, my travels back in time take me to the famous grave site of country and pop music legend Glen Campbell at his family cemetery in Delight (Billstown), Arkansas.
I also show you my $45 a night hotel room at the EconoLodge, in Texarkana, Texas, that I booked through Travelocity.
Thanks for joining me on another nostalgic road trip down memory lane.

Oops, I am late to the party. Glen has an Uncle who lives very close to the cemetery. He would have welcomed you in his house, treated you well, and shared some fantastic Glen and "Uncle" Boo stories. Boo is who taught Glen how to play. Good folks living in that part of the country! Nice job!

i know their was a claim that he still enjoyed performing, but some if the video I ahve seen ( particularly the one with his where they discuss with the poor man standing there how his medication had made him highly sexed and that he had started to urinate around the house were horrific-no-one does that to someone they love, and to say he had given permission for those segments is laughable, they could have givne the poor man some dignity rather than squeeze every last penny out of him.

My favorite Glen Campbell song is the one that made him a superstar "By the time I get to Phoenix". Glen was going to dropped by Capitol records until he was playing a Johnny Rivers session and came across Johnny's album "Changes". He played the album and came across the song with much excitement. Glen told AlDelory pianist and Capitol exec that he wanted to record the song. the rest is history and Glen was on Capitol records a very long time.

I have to say I love Glenn Campbell's Last song " I'm Not Going to Miss you". My father also suffered from dementia. toward the end He didn't know who I was, but he did know that I was someone he should know. somedays I was my mother, his mother, my aunt, etc. although, the week before he died I went to see him and on that last visit he knew who I was and he was so excited to see me, like he hadn't seen me in years. I guess as far as he was concerned, he hadn't. That is a gift I will take with me until I see him again. It is so hard when someone you love so much doesn't know who you are.

Rhinestone Cowboy was one of his famous songs. I used to listen to his music decades ago. God rests his soul.

Hi Steve. Delight AR is like most rural small towns in the deep South. When you visit it's like going through a time warp. It's common to have a family cemetery in the South. Usually they're on private farmland that were working farms 100 yrs ago. My dad is buried in the Welch Family Cemetery on his parents farm in Edenton, NC. We still own the farm and lease it out to local neighbors. I loved Glenn Campbell; Wichita Lineman is my favorite but I love all his music.

Thank you for sharing this one Steve, Glenn Campbell loved his voice and his songs still do, he was also a top guitarist as well. I love how he loved his Scottish roots and wore The Kilt many times, as a proud Scot myself and a wearer of The Kilt I am a great admirer of The Man. Lovely room in your hotel and a very good price mate, still loving all your vlogs keep them coming and thank you for all your hard work :)

Hello Steve, I live near the grave site of Helen Gurley Brown, and David Brown. She was the editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan, and David was a film producer of many films like; Jaws, Cocoon, Driving Miss Daisy, Sting, and many more. They are buried in a family cemetery in Osage AR. Family cemeteries are common in my state of Arkansas.
The family that built my house in 1846 are in a family cemetery. You also mentioned “Trail of Tears” which has come to describe the journey of Native Americans forced to leave their ancestral homes. It was a sad time for Native Americans.

I was lucky enough to watch him play guitar at a concert in Houston Texas .& he put a12 string electric guitar over his head and neck and didn't miss a cord not 1 ,awesome guitar player.

As you drove by those telephone lines I could hear him singing through them. Thanks for another great video. Very interesting that the Campbell’s have their own grave site. I’m in Canada and have not seen that before. It seems strange in an interesting way.

Billstown Arkansas was the home of Glen not Delight. Best I can remember Glens Dad was the first person buried at Campbell Cemetery. Glen either already owned the land or bought it after his Dad died and made it the Campbell Cem.They were from Billstown not Delight so thats why.
