Usually they're on private farmland that were working farms 100 yrs ago. My dad is buried in the Welch Family Cemetery on his parents farm in Edenton, NC. Thank you for sharing this one Steve, Glenn Campbell loved his voice and his songs still do, he was also a top guitarist as well. Lovely room in your hotel and a very good price mate, still loving all your vlogs keep them coming and thank you for all your hard work :)
My favorite Glen Campbell song is the one that made him a superstar "By the time I get to Phoenix". Glen was going to dropped by Capitol records until he was playing a Johnny Rivers session and came across Johnny's album "Changes". He played the album and came across the song with much excitement. Glen told AlDelory pianist and Capitol exec that he wanted to record the song. the rest is history and Glen was on Capitol records a very long time.

I like all of his songs I guess Southern nights comes to mind for favorite song. I thank you Steve for the road trip and information. Great vlog my friend thanks so much for your time and effort in visiting graves.
Got to do backing vocals for Glenn Several years ago with my trio. He was an amazing man to work with at Sunrise Music Theatre outside of Miami Beach Florida.
Glad you were able to find the cemetery but I couldn’t find it on google maps - that address took me to a creek. My favourite Glen Campbell sing is “Rhinestone Cowboy”. But I don’t know anyone with a private cemetery. Looks like you are on a road trip.
Glen was an accomplished guitarist as well as a singer -songwriter. He was a member of the legendary west coast sessions group the wrecking crew, who did the music for many hit songs from the 60s and 70s. There are a lot of private cemeteries in the south. When I lived in Southwest Virginia, both locations I lived at had small family cemeteries close by, one right in the backyard. Great video! As always thanks for taking us with you.
My favorite song is Wichita Lineman also. But I do like most all of his other songs. He sure was a talented guitarist first and foremost, and of course his voice was so smooth. There is no other one like him. It's wonderful that he became a Christian later on in life. On another subject, Steve, I sure liked the fact that you videotaped driving around and looking at the little town and the other Cemetery too. It's so nice to see places like that and all the green grass and trees. It was completely enjoyable to watch your video. I look forward to your videos when they send a notification of new ones. I'll probably never get to those places, but now I can know and see what they are. Thank you so much!
Glen Campbell is an all time great artist! My favorite was "By the time I get to Phoenix." I remember in the 80's he was doing the summer tours and I waited in line to see him in Ohio. I was in the front row so had a chance to be kissed quite afew times during the concert. A thrill of my life. He was a good sport about it, too.
Great choice Joshua! I completely agree with you, it's magical, Jimmy Webb's fabulous writing skills and Glen's sublime perfect voice sends shivers through me everytime I listen to it and I listen to it a lot- love it! In fact, I just love any song by Glen Campbell- the ultimate singer and musician - a master of his craft- both singing and his expertise as a guitarist- never will anyone come close in my opinion. RIP Glen - thanks for such wonderful memories.
My fave Glen Campbell song is Anybody Going to San Antoine or Phoenix Arizona . Great show thanks for taking us along. Now I have a little more insight on Texarkana. On the State Line!!!!
Glen was awesome! I like most of his songs, the True Grit theme song is probably my favorite. My mother was born and raised in West Texas and was a huge country fan and really loved Glen. My family watched his tv show, The Glen Campbell Good Time Hour.
Another great video thank you for sharing your travels with us i would love to visit that town one day those older buildings you just don't see stuff like that anymore
Glen Campbell was a musical prodigy. He was self taught, could play just about any instrument, (including bagpipes). His family were farmers and managed to get by. They didn't electricity. Anywae he was a genius at anything musical and was awarded 6 Grammy's. He also was an actor and was nominated for Golden Globe for True Grit. A major talent. I loved a lot of his stuff, too many to call one a favorite. Nice video Steve. I love those thunderstorms and miss them . You're making good progress on your trip-long drive!
I agree. he was so talented in so many ways. wish I had the time to upload a video each night, but the days are just not long enough to film and drive and edit and upload. but I sure have a lot of good film footage to start uploading once I get home in a couple of weeks. thanks, andy!
I live in Arkansas I should go visit his grave and pay my respect, I bought his "Best of the Early Years CD at Wal-Mart great album! Only two hours and 30 mins away not far! RIP MR Campbell!
Country Boy (You've Got YMour Feel in LA & Galveston were my favorites. When I was 4 years old back in 1968, my mother would put Galveston and other songs of his from the 60's on to play as a lullaby for me and my younger sister to go to sleep. As I grew older I enjoyed his music and still do today.
Oh I loved Glenn Campbell, Rhinestone Cowboy is my favorite song of his. Great artist who turned his life around & quite drinking .& lived a full life time. I was lucky enough to watch him play guitar at a concert in Houston Texas .& he put a12 string electric guitar over his head and neck and didn't miss a cord not 1 ,awesome guitar player.

Glen was awesome! I like most of his songs, the True Grit theme song is probably my favorite. My mother was born and raised in West Texas and was a huge country fan and really loved Glen. My family watched his tv show, The Glen Campbell Good Time Hour.

Your mom had good taste in music! Thanks for sharing this with us Kari 😊👍
I had the pleasure to see Glen on his last tour. Very nice video!

Sadly remember Glen Campbell announcing he was diagnosed and battling Alzheimer's disease. I recommend Glen Campbell: I'll be mine...a touching tribute film. Thanks Steve. Interesting and informative video. Stay safe out on the road.

Always loved Glen! One of Mom's favourites was the album he did with Anne Murray! Especially the duet they did. I love that you even make the motel room tour and giving us a look around outside, interesting!
thanks, miles. my favorite part of other vlogs is watching how vloggers get to and from places and where they stay and all the behind the scenes stuff, so as much as possible, I like to include it in my vlogs, too.
Wow! You are a long way from home. I can't believe you drove Casper such a great distance. Thank you so much for sharing a beautiful and informative video. Be safe and be well. Come home soon. Palm Springs is just not the same without you!
It's funny you mention Try A Little Kindness. My wife's cousin wrote it and the motel you stayed in is about 4 blocks from her Texarkana house.
omg, wow, how neat and weird :-) thanks for sharing that, mark! love that song!
Hi Steve, thanks for another great blog, I spend most my time in Tenn.heard lot glen Campbell, my oldest brother favorite was Wichita line man. That was a popular song. Glad he chose to be buried in his hometown. My mom family bought land set aside some for burial my grandmothers buried there. Her father side also bought lot land they set aside some to it was called the nelson family resting place. That's where he wanted to be buried, he was army vet. We honored his wishes. Some churches only allow members who pay their membership to be buried in church cemetary..I see lot land being bought houses all around where my mothers family cemetery. It bothers me but land is land you have pay taxes...but again thanks I enjoyed this blog.afa.n.j.
