      But then I see the Marilyn Manson thing on his shirt. I just get how a Christian would push anything associated with that person. It does say 2013. maybe Cooper converted after 2013..I dunno. I love this interview so much but then there's this, imho, glaring inconsistency.

      @@terryjp3050 don't try to use that on me. I know the context of it. It's okay as a Christian to use your brain to discern and reason and spot inconsistencies. It is not a "judgement" of Cooper's eternal destination by me but merely pointing out that Manson's example to this point in his life is not a Christian one - nor was intended to be.

    • @teller1290
      @teller1290 2 года назад +5

      @Brian Cleveland yeh, I know abstract meaning and Biblical context. The context is hypocrisy, not merely judging or coming to a decision about what is Christian conduct and what is not. This admonition was given immediately following a grievous example of hypocrisy on the part of one or more people. In other words, "Judge not, lest ye be judged," isn't designed to handcuff Christians in approving or disapproving of things in the society around them. It was a warning to Christians engaged in essentially same acts in private that they were publicly condemning. God is not fooled by such conduct.

      Easy there fella. As a free human, I have a right to not like someone or their music. I was no fan of Glen Campbell'music either but I like to see friendships span musical genres and social backgrounds. So here, I express some new found appreciation for him as a person and instead of saying something intelligent like, "Glad you got to see this side of Alice. He's a decent guy and maybe if you give his music another shot, you'll appreciate his creativity." I get a potatohead like you giving me a lecture. I hope you're not representative of his overall fan-base. Mr. Cooper my appreciation for your cross-genre friendship stands regardless of harmoniabanana.

    I come back to this every once in awhile, just for a smile. To hear Alice tell things about Glen, not as a way to harm Glen, just to tell the truth speaks volumes about their friendship. I remember in the 70's reading all about things like his fling with Tanya Tucker, his drug addiction, and somehow he came through the other side where the sun shines, and it was really hard to watch the documentary because I saw my mom decline to nothing thanks to Alzheimer's. She was our church organist for 50 years, she had learned to play as a girl, and when we finally decided she couldn't live safely by herself we placed her in a nursing home. Her first few years there were great because she would sit down at the piano in the dining room to play and many of the residents would be drawn to the music. Her final 3 years she no longer recognized the piano or what it was for. It was a relief when she did pass away. She wasn't "living" when that time came. There has to be some great music in heaven when you think about all who made music are there when you get there. Rock and Roll will never die.

    I respect Alice Cooper's honesty and frankness about his life, career, religion and friendship with all kinds of people in the movie and music industry. Here's also a very very nice guy. I met him once and in the early 90's in downtown San Antonio. Very gracious man.

    It's nice to see someone of his fame interviewed, and for a change just be a regular honest and down to earth guy, not "putting on airs", not "being self scripted", but honest and even admitting his faith without reservations. Thanks Alice and God Bless you and your family.

    Is there a tribe of trolls out there who feel obsessed with down-thumbing anything and everything? Do they spend their hours wasting time loading videos just to press the down-thumb? How can anyone not feel moved by this honest and emotional interview with 'Alice'? This is the best of humanity - feel sad for the ones who do their best to show how shallow they are.

      Your statement is very profound. I read the comments first before I listened to the interview. I was never a fan of AC as his music appeared to be in the dark side. He is a stand-up person and in the Kingdom of God. I just don't know enough about his on stage performance character. I would think that he would renounce that part, but that's not my problem. I wish him well

    Beginning in the 60s i saw many great musicians , singers , guitarists but Glen Campbell had the extremely rare ability to entertain you for hours with just his voice or just playing guitar or whatever instrument he picked up. He was a self taught entertainer in a league of his own. R.I.P. Glen

    I saw a concert of his, performing with his family a couple of years before he passed away. He needed a teleprompter to remember his lyrics, but his musicianship was perfect. His guitar and banjo skills were so entrenched in his brain that he still had it right to the end.

    Glen was my favorite country singer in the 70''s, 80's, 90's and even his last album Adios was so touching! I couldn't sleep so I got up turned on the TV and they were announcing his passing. R.I.P. Glen, gone but never forgotten.

    A friend of mine- a professor at Ball State- said it best about Alzheimer's: "I would rather have cancer head to toe. At least you are YOU and have your mind until the end. Alzheimer's steals your soul, and you just are no longer YOU anymore."
    I never had heard it put quite like that before. It is a very cruel disease.

    I spent some time with Glen (and his wife Kim) one day and it was one of my most amazing experiences. He was so gracious, so humble, so entertaining as we talked about his music career, his film(s) (he said he was only happy with True Grit but humbly suggested he wasn't that good an actor, I thought he was GREAT!). So full of light, life and love we also talked about his faith and he sung a lil of a gospel song that was a number 1 hit and I got to sing along a lil'. What a thrill. I pray he is resting peacefully asleep in the Messiah... I love that man ... and Kim and his family ... HalaluYaH !
