So much of Alice Copper's songs put to words and music the angst, problems, issues and some answers for what I was experiencing growing up. They had the perfect music, at the perfect time with the perfect messages for what I needed in high school and beyond. Guys, thanks so much for getting me through some difficult and dark moments with some semblance of sanity.
I can't believe I didn't watch it before! What an amazing interview. I feel so good after this. Thank you Shep,Alice, the Person that uploeded it and The one who had the idea for the interview! ❤️😎🤘
We all have those rock stars we want to meet. I'd love to meet Alice & just listen to his stories. I've gotten to see his shows 3 x. Hoping to see him more. He's an original.
Shep stood by Alice through some very tough times. We longtime fans appreciate him a ton. My only criticism is that I wish he could've kept the original band together -- at least Dennis and Neal --- or reunited them after Nightmare.
I completely agree with you. There's no reason why they couldn't have reunited a few years down the road. Ultimately, it stands as one of the greatest missed opportunities ever. I don't see why all 5 of them couldn't come back together. Remember that Michael Bruce wrote EVERTYTHING for the original band...Alice's music was never as good as what came out of the original band. When Glen Buxton died in 1997, it forever sealed the deal that the original 5 would never be together again. People have forgotten that the Alice Cooper Band were the biggest band in the world in 1973/74...
Usually I'd agree, I like when bands keep original members. But I also like that bringing new musicians into the mix seemed to help Alice adapt his sound and stay relevant throughout the 80s and on. I doubt his sound would have changed with the times/music trends as much if he was still with the original band.
I like both bands. Would be cool to see them all together. But there were some Shows where the original members Played together with Alice as well. Or Dennis Duneway and Ryan Roxie were playing guitar together. Regards from Germany
What a pleasure to watch. Alice is always so personable no matter where you happen to run into him. Just another guy who just happens to be a Rock Legend.
These stories are magic. Let's pray the music and entertainment industries get back to the kind of innovation and artistic support as it was back then. Analytics are the albatross for creatives. Build on yesterday to create what can be tomorrow. Not, look at yesterday and do more of that. Uncertaintly breeds art.
I saw the "Welcome to My Nightmare" tour in Richmond, VA, back in the day. Aside from the great tunes, it was the greatest theatrical production I'd ever seen. Very tight, flawless. Alice is a fantastic performer.
Man! This is the wittiest rockstar you'll ever come across. Very intelligent. Underrated lyrics writer as well. Just go discover. And by the way. He is the ultimate nice person as well.
And, you should see him dress when he is out playing golf: Old man's visor, white old man's belt paired with golfing slacks, white rimmed dorky sunglasses ... I mean, really hilarious.
He's had a radio show for years and they play it every night in my area, I grew up listening to it and he's really entertaining, even without the horror gimmicks and stage antics. Also seems like a really genuine and nice person, which seems rare with famous people.
Fantastic interview from 2 great guys , great life stories about what worked and when you think about it , we or anyone else could apply the much the same , proof is even after hard or difficult times ... they still have smiles on their faces ,,, so not about short time gain , not about money ... but of course it will give you both in the long run ,
Alice Cooper concerts melded the Addams family and the Munsters and a rocking band and a bitchin front man......the gilloutine.....the Dead babies.....true over the top shock value ......thank you Alice Cooper...and the original band ...I looked forward to you returning to Seattle every year.......
I'm so lucky to have grown up during those formative years. Things were REALLY happening back then. Nowadays bands don't even bother with videos. No stadium tours. I've seen Alice, Kiss, Floyd, The Stones, Zappa, The Doobies, Styx, Skynard, Queen, Black Sabbath, AC/DC... Too many to remember. There's nothing like that anymore. Getting a contact high because the Hollywood Sportatorium (in Florida, since torn down , replaced by a damn supermarket) was dense with pot smoke. People used to be interesting and vocal. There were so many ideas and lifestyles back then. You could tell two cars apart from a block away because they were different. Now we're all being pigeonholed into a boring collective of controlled societal norms. Unauthorized individual thought is doxed and punished. I can't tell you how many times I've told my kids "What are you doing here ? Get out and have some fun. Do something daring. Let the cops chase you. I wasn't as boring as you until I had two kids."
Rock-In-Roll is now dead because it's all been done and people aren't the same but it's starting to get to where Classical music is today... That was Rock-In-Roll 200 year's ago
Of course it was ! It even had a name and use to sit on Glen's amp ! Anyone who still believes that story about the chicken being torn apart by a bunch of Toronto hippies...well god bless ya ! Lol
Aren't they wonderful - can you BELIEVE that story about them all living in a basement in Watts - Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendricks, Jim Morrison and others -- Shep being a "pharmaceutical distributor" - HYSTERICAL !!
Well I'm just laughing my head off at this and can't believe how much fun Alice Cooper really is lol. He's a nut but a lovely one at that lol. I bet these are the stories that could be told on stage but there are many more that can't be told lol.
$500 to anyone who can supply me a pic of the band in the plastic suits. As a 32-year fan and ravenous collector, I've never seen one. Not even sure one exists. DM me
Funniest story I ever read about Alice - was that he cut open pregnat woman and pulled out the babies... always wondered how the job add would sound like and who would applay......
So he says, who are the last successful bands that are political. Then he named off several hugely successfully bands. And suggest that everyone wite about there girlfriends . Like everyone is not already. And Alice doesn't. Glen Buxton said,no chick songs!
Near the end a question “Arena Rock” ... the only good Big Band these days is Rammstein ! They’ve that Larger Than Life character, as rare as it gets ... they reinvented Metal , stole it and made it their own leaving others as pretending, again as rare as can be
This guy is an agent's dream!!!! No wonder he still shows up to Q&A sessions dressed up like a clown after al these years and still claims he doesn't know how much he gets out of it?!? Color me dubious, but I know a good spin when I hear one! As far as the musical part of his career is concerned, I know for a fact that he sold records... but as far as (art) is concerned, it's all smoke and mirrors. Telling kids they should rebel against stereotypes while raking the cash selling anti-conformist mumbo jumbo because it's what sells doesn't make me feel inclined to put whatever they do in the same creative categories as The Doors, Pink Floyd, or any other truly creative, and mind altering bands who came out of the sixties!!! But i'd still like to play a round of golf with that mofo!!! No make up though...
Alice is a encyclopedia of rock and roll history.Actually talking to him is a pleasure.Treats his fans like friends.
I love the guy!
Damn I'm jealous, I'd love to meet him some day! He's a big influence for me!
This was a treat to watch. Could listen to these stories for hours! Peace!

'Billion Dollar Babies' one of the best albums in music history...
Their best album along with Killer. WTMN is my favourite solo record from him though
I go with Killer.
Original band, no studio guys.
Okay, Rick Derringer on one song.
100% One of rock and rolls best albums EVER!
From the inside
David Griffin best post ‘74 album. Love that album

Alice is known to be one of the nicest, coolest rockers in the biz.
His book is worth reading too.
Please what is the title of the book you refer to?...
I think it's called "the golf monster". It turns out that Alice is an avid golfer, so there's some golf tips but mostly it's autobiogrphical.
Great interview, great personality and great musician

Great relationship between Shep and Alice, very rare in the entertainment business!! Great interview, Luv the Coop!
I had the pleasure of spending some time around Shep AKA mr money, one of the nicest guys I ever had dinner with!
I saw the "Welcome to My Nightmare" tour in Richmond, VA, back in the day. Aside from the great tunes, it was the greatest theatrical production I'd ever seen. Very tight, flawless. Alice is a fantastic performer.

@@kidwoodhouse9564 agreed. There's a lot of humour in his lyrics.

@@AGJArtwork Cold Ethyl is a good song to show someone if you want to gauge their sense of humor, they either get the joke or they think you're sick🤣🤣

take note - they don't mention the band. until WTMN Alice Cooper was a band, not a person.
According to Dennis Dunnaway and Michael Bruce, the chickens were brought by the band.
Of course it was ! It even had a name and use to sit on Glen's amp ! Anyone who still believes that story about the chicken being torn apart by a bunch of Toronto hippies...well god bless ya ! Lol

Skynard & few other Southern rock bands the only band that could just stand and play still be rock stars Duane & Greg. Maybe Molly Hatchet.
Floyd were doing concept albums before The Wall. That guy needed to do his research.
@Neil Mcintosh You should probably read a lot more...duh.
$500 to anyone who can supply me a pic of the band in the plastic suits. As a 32-year fan and ravenous collector, I've never seen one. Not even sure one exists. DM me
This guy does what comes to mind. Don't do drugs. It's not an act.
Loved the Alice shows of early 70's. Saw him beheaded, hanged and electrocuted. Nice career
I Brought The Chicken , And So Did My Wife And Sparticus ........ x .
And Joe Greenberg sold bootleg albums out of the station wagon used for touring ..........
The Guess Who...who knew ?

Hehe, he looks a bit weatherbeaten, doesn't he?
Aging takes courage......he could be a great actor.......right up there with Vincent Price.......Boris Karloff.....Peter Lorre ........
